Morning Ladies, Hope your all well.
I got my form to fill in for free health care when I first saw my MW at around 7/8 weeks? Havent filled it in though yet, thanks for reminding me!
Isnt it mad how we all seem to have more girls names then boys?
I know my list will probably keep changing over the next few months but at top of my list at mo is - Lewis, Dylan or Sonny for a boy and Maddison (Maddy), Grace or Ella for a girl.

trix1 · 09/02/2006 10:02

Good Morning, I got my card days after sending off the form.

It a beautiful day here, the sun is shining and the sky is blue, but its probably freezing out there.

We must all be nearly past the 12 week mark now. How many are waiting for their 12 week scan still?

I dont know whether it beacuse Im eating more but I have a massive round bump out front I look six months pg, I cant wear my normal jeans at all now.

Hope you are all feeling well.

melsy · 09/02/2006 10:21

Morning all , long time no speaky in here , not sure why , may be because of being ill havent spent as much time on here and then felt out of place coming back in. I had a good moaning thread about my virusy thing , but no one came in to see as was having a right pity party !!!!

Anywhooo , glad everyones scans are going well and some are feeling better. My sickness has nearly gone , and I get spurts of energy here and there , but between those I feel very wiped out. Its weird.

I still havent had my scan date or letter and Im getting a bit ticked off now , it seems normal to stretch it to 16ws before you see anyone , by which time the 20 wk scan is due?????? Thank goodness for having my EPU scan at 5 weeks , otherwise Id be in a right ole state. You just end up feeling like your a number in a pile. Not sure if I phone up and use my previous PTSD / PND card to get some progress ????

BigHotMama · 09/02/2006 10:50

Glad your feeling better Melsy, I get so tired after my tea and end up having a few small kips before bedtime. Did watch Bratcamp last night though, quite scary to think your daughter could grow up like one of them, they were just horrid!

Trix my bump is looking rather more like 6 months too, am popping into Next to check out their maternity gear at lunchtime. Has anybody got the Blooming Marvellous catalogue? There stuff looks nice and they are doing a discount night in March (get free goodie bag) but the nearest store to me Leamington Spa which is nearly 2 hours drive

Nbg · 09/02/2006 10:53

Ha
I've managed to get on now dh has gone to work. I can't get him off the computer when he's at home!

Melsy, definatley chase your appt up. Have you got a number for the local community midwife? If not give your gp a call and they should give it to you. Other than that call the hospital and speak to the antenatal clinic. You should be getting a scan really to confirm your EDD.

BigHotMama, Madison is a wonderful name (My dd's name )

When the midwife saw me at 8 weeks she gave me the form to send off for the maternity exemption card. I sent it straight away and it came back within a week although within that week I needed AB's and I also had a dentist appt and both weren't bothered I didn't have it.

It's a beautiful day here too but it looks very windy and quite chilly.
I can't believe how giddy I'm getting at the thought of summer!

Well must go again. Am meeting up with another mumnetter at lunch to take the kids to soft play so need to mentally prepare myself for possible tantrums

trace2 · 09/02/2006 10:56

XXXXXX HIJACKXXXXX

NBG, I AM SORRY I CAN NOT MAKE IT TODAY, no credit to phone you, or text,

i have to go to hospital for blood tests

olivo · 09/02/2006 11:03

Morning all!

I havent had my scan yet -its tomorrow!I'm quite excited but really nervous at the same time. I'm still off work with this stinking cold but feel much better than yesterday (except for being sick!). Will go back to work tomorrow (scan makes it a half day anyway!)

Melsy, phone whoever you can think of to get your appt. glad to hear you're feeling better.

BHM, i'm jealous of you talking about maternity clothes. we only have mothercare here for them, unless I do mail order or online but some wont deliver here. I can only fit into one pair of trousers now - luckily, have spent this week in my pjs!!

luna - you there? how was it?

Nbg · 09/02/2006 11:06

No worries Trace.

Alibo's ds has chicken pox so she cannot make it anyway.

Good luck with the tests.

Hijack over

BigHotMama · 09/02/2006 11:14

Olivo, Have you got a Next near you? My friend at work has the Next Directory catalogue where you can order from the catalogue and pick up your parcel within few days from your nearest Next store. Thats ideal for me as couldnt have it delivered to my house as no-one there. You can also try the clothes on in the shop and if dont fit you just leave the parcel with them to send back. Sorted!

NBG do you call your dd Maddy? I think that is soooo sweet!

P.S. Can you tell my boss is away today?

Nbg · 09/02/2006 11:17

We don't but I think thats because dh has a thing about calling people by their proper name IYSWIM, lol!

She gets Maddy at playgroup and by other mums.

olivo · 09/02/2006 11:34

Thanks for that BHM - we do have a next and dh's friend has a directory - I'll have a look. That'd save a whole load of hassle. Ive had this fear of being dressed in exactly the same as every other pregnant woman here, all in matching mothercare stuff!

eve2005 · 09/02/2006 11:51

hey all, got cut off last time i was on and this is the first time since then i've been able to pry partner away from pc, you'd never guess it was mine the way he acts!

hows everyone feeling? was feeling all smug that i was over the morning sickness until spending all day hanging over the loo yesterday!

girls names are always easier to think of because every boys name you think of your partner will have been to school with someone of the same name who he hated! women don't seem to associate the names with paticular people as much. when i was pg last time we couldn't agree on a single boys name so we were lucky it was a girl!

BigHotMama · 09/02/2006 13:25

Oooh I have just fell in love with the newborn summer baby girl clothes, they are so pretty and trendy, I WANT A GIRL!!!!!!!
Ended up buying some neutral baby grows with bunny wabbits arghhhh and some bibs. Have just been told by lad at work to make sure I buy the plastic back bibs though as the milk/food leaks through the material ones so must get some of those. Didnt have any maternity clothes so bit gutted but am going to order from friends catalogue tomorrow! Bought a nice brown top with stripes which has a vest top underneath and cross over material at front, looks like it could be a pg top.

lunavix · 09/02/2006 13:46

Hi everyone! Scan was yesterday and - I've been bumped up a week! New edd is 19/8 (apparently I was 12+4 instead of 11+4) sorry olivo we are no longer date buddies unless you get them to bump you up too

Isn't 13 weeks second trimiester? hope so! Or is it three months?

We told dh's parents who are over the moon, although I'm sooooo cross with dh, he put the scan pic in his BACK POCKET and it has a huge crease. ARGH. SO I'm making him buy a hideously expensive baby book this weekend so we can stick it in before he does more damage lol

I really hate the maternity wear in next this season, I don't think it help the model (and the clothes) both seem quite frumpy. I'm glad I got lots in the sale.

olivo · 09/02/2006 13:55

Wow -a week luna? thats cool!of course, I'm !! I wouldn't be surprised if they gave me another date tomorrow, I've had 3 different ones already, but it'll be just my luck to be later, not forward!! I'm getting more and more nervous and dh is getting more and more excited.

lunavix · 09/02/2006 13:57

This is my third.. although my scan says 12+2 (she messed up so the pic has writing on it) but she says they even out at 12+4... hmmm

olivo · 09/02/2006 13:59

I assume they go on measurement to give edds - do you know, does it make a differencfe if you/dh or dp are small or tall?

lunavix · 09/02/2006 14:04

I don't trust edd when you don't have a date for LMP....

I hadn't a clue with ds either, he was due 16th april and born 15th.... he was 7lb 14 but peeling terribly all over, which apparently only happens with very overdue babies. They reckon he was 3 poss. 4 weeks overdue. So the guess was good, but his skin suffered, dunno if it's partly to blame he's had terrible excema ever since.

It's all done on generic measurememnts, and doesn't take into account small or big babies at all...

BigHotMama · 09/02/2006 16:39

Great news on your scan and new EDD date Lunavix. Bet your well chuffed! The 13th week is the final week in your 1st trimester so I think 14 weeks is officially the start of 2nd trim. (I've heard if you scan your pic on a PC it turns out quite clear if you do need to do yourself a copy of your scan+crease) - We must be mental as we bought an extra 6 copies (not just for us tho! )

Arabica · 09/02/2006 17:23

I think I felt baby move today. It was pretty high up, almost at navel level. It happened about three times, so either I have some kind of dodgy stomach complaint or there's something moving around in there!

Arabica · 09/02/2006 17:32

BTW, if this is your first baby please please do NOT worry about not feeling anything yet, 18--22 weeks is the average. If I have felt the baby move today (15+1) it's pretty soon even for a 2nd pregnancy.

lunavix · 09/02/2006 19:43

BHM - we didn't have the choice. 2nd scan is end of march though (20 weeks) and ill then be paying for a 4d one... ill want copies of that!

Nbg · 09/02/2006 20:54

Thats lovely Arabica

What was it like? I can't remember ever getting those fluttery feelings first time round.

I've heard 14/15 weeks is quite normal to feel movements in a 2nd pregnancy.

Arabica · 10/02/2006 08:41

It was quite a strong feeling, as if the inside of my stomach was a door and someone was gently tapping on it! Can't wait to feel it again and then I can be sure it wasn't just my imagination.
