OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
Biscuitsandtea · 13/02/2012 16:34

I'd kind of like him to see the scan, because he hasn't been to any, but then I really want to focus on what the cons says about the growth and the kidney, and to ace a sensible discussion about the birth etc.

DreamingOfPeace · 13/02/2012 16:41

biscuits, I'm buying the rennies too.

purple, not sure about safety FF for the TWE. The fitting videos for RF, RF front seat and extended legroom RF plus FF are all on their website. It's dead easy to put it in RF, can't imagine it too hard to do FF.... (Famous last words?!) . It was the only quick and easy option for both my parents' cars but dd only ever used it RF.

Have I misunderstood? I thought delayed cord clamping was standard unless a reason prevents it?? Clearly not from on here...?

PurpleWithaBlueBun · 13/02/2012 16:49

Thanks Dream it is mostly for GPs cars, just fretting as I am a worrier. Is it quick to get in? Lady said 3-5 mins, would it be quicker if I get extra tethers so can leave them in the cars, which is something I am thinking of doing.

Oh and no delay here, baby out clamp, cut, synto injection done, oh and here is your baby! Hmm

Biscuits I would put him in nursery if I was you, they can be very distracting even if you think you are concentrating I quite often afterwards go eh what when trying to remember something but that could just be me! Oh and ironing why would you do that? :o

DreamingOfPeace · 13/02/2012 16:57

Mines younger biscuits but not taking her to any, I want to concentrate on the info I'm told, impossible with dd around!

DreamingOfPeace · 13/02/2012 16:59

Yes I have tethers in both GP cars purple, was also worried buying online but its been fine for us!

DreamingOfPeace · 13/02/2012 17:01

I reckon on s good day 3 min!

DreamingOfPeace · 13/02/2012 17:02

Unless i lock the seatbelt on my dads car and have to start again, slows me down to 5 min!!

Biscuitsandtea · 13/02/2012 18:28

My. Ribs. Hurt.

That is all.

pommedechocolat · 13/02/2012 18:50

Popcorn - I was referred at about 5/6 weeks this time and had an appointment at 10 weeks. It was the doctor I'd had with dd though so not sure if that made it quicker? With dd I was referred at 8 weeks and saw someone at 13 weeks who realised I was more serious than she could deal with and referred me to doctor at about 17 weeks.

DD has impetigo. Hoping not to get it as apparently if you have it you shouldn't be newer newborns just in case. May be hard to avoid...

Having slight meltdowns about PIL arrangements now.

DreamingOfPeace · 13/02/2012 18:51

Mine too. I once heard some 'sleb had their bottom two ribs removed to make them look thinner (cher?) . I'm so tempted, surely it would help?!
No freaking way I could lie on either side with ribs this sore... And my back's not that comfy either... Rock and a hard place perhaps?

Biscuitsandtea · 13/02/2012 19:27

Oh Dream I feel so much for you! I can't believe what you must be going through! I can't find a comfy position to sit or stand so I can only imagine what it must be like for you Sad

And Pomme I do hope dd's impetigo clears up ASAP. We can't let it interfere with you!

Can we use bonjella?

musicalmrs · 13/02/2012 19:59

Hi all! So much chatting today!

Purple, hurrah for 3/5 engaged! How very exciting! Thanks for the tip about hairbands too - I never go anywhere without lip balm, but could easily forget a hairband!

Also, with regard to third stage, my plan is to have delayed cord clamping and a physiological 3rd stage. The delayed cord clamping seems a wise route to go down if possible from what I've heard. I'm actually not too bothered with physiological vs managed, but I've heard that there's more of a chance of retained placenta with managed, plus in an ideal world I'd like to keep birth as natural as possible. However, I know full well I'm saying this now but may be begging for drugs as soon as the time comes - and may well equally beg for the managed third stage too! Wink We'll see what happens. I'm well aware that there are various situations in which a phys third stage wouldn't be possible... but it's just the current aim!

Wants, impressed that you've still got eight weeks of work left - are you going back for a couple after Easter? I'm stopping at Easter - but it's easier to do so with the way my teaching works (I see each of my pupils once a week - it's better continuity wise if they have a new tutor from the beginning of the new term).

Pomme, so sorry to hear about the impetigo. I hope it clears up as soon as possible :(

Biscuits, I hope the prescription and all the other suggestions made by the others help your friend out Wink. Glad DS is a lot better :)

Today was the first day training up one of my maternity leave covers. Went really well - she's lovely and brilliant. This is also her first job after mat leave herself, so we had lots to talk about!

Feeling very bumpy today. Going shopping with my mother tomorrow which I'm really looking forward to - a lovely change from working! Got home today to find a rose, a card, some mint imperials (my favourite) and a creme egg (!!!) from DH on the side - he's away all week. So sweet!

NinjaChipmunk · 13/02/2012 21:11

musical how sweet of your dh! Enjoy, I have just polished off nearly a whole pack of mars planets. I think I nearly inhaled them. Talking of maternity leave covers, my job's mat cover has been advertised from today. The first half of this pregnancy went slowly but I reckon the last half may fly by. I'm looking forward to having about 6 weeks of holiday time before my ML starts on my due date.

I have a stonking headache this evening, think I must be dehydrated as well as a bit tired. Early night methinks.

DreamingOfPeace · 13/02/2012 21:43

ninja, love the new pad you've got your eye on Wink . I reckon I could cope with that too. I could totally polish off a whole pack on mars planets, and several creme eggs. We have some rather sub-standard chocolate in our house imo (Aldi special), but I'm still troffing it...

My cold won't shift- except now I've added a cough. Boo!!!! and biscuits, I wouldn't say I'm taking it well, there have been quite a lot of tears over the rib pain by evening time.... poor dh!

eeek pomme, 2 weeks to get rid of that impetigo completely. Your second stage sounded totally shit last time. Are you raspberry leaf tea-ing? I still believe it helped last time-love my ignoring of the total lack of any evidence for it!! I must get some actually, just in case- it will be another thing to do to stave off labour. Smile

biscuits, I've been using anbesol for mouth ulcers- marvellous stuff. Never thought to check, but dh knew I was so must be ok?!

Right, must finish my jobs and get to bed...

jaggythistle · 13/02/2012 21:54

aw your poor ribs dream and biscuits! :(

do dc always look so angelic when they're sleeping? just tucked DS in and really wanted to just snuggle in beside him. Blush i reckon I'd break his toddler bed on a good day, let alone with all this fat pg weight. he kicks off his covers while he's falling asleep so we always need to rearrange him before we go to bed!

DreamingOfPeace · 13/02/2012 22:04

yes, they are completely scrumptious and adorable when asleep IMO Grin Grin

pommedechocolat · 13/02/2012 22:12

dream - yes have been on the r l tea for a couple of weeks now. My mum had a really shit second stage with me but all was absolutely fine with my brother so I'm basically hoping for that!

Sorry to hear about your rib pain it sounds awful. I can't imagine not being able to lie on my side.

Any chocolate welcome over here!

They do look so sweet asleep. It always makes me feel bad for when I've shouted or lost my patience during the day.

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 13/02/2012 22:47

Ninja I love a bit of house-hunting porn! I could adjust to a house like that! Wink

Musical your DH is so sweet! My DH tried to sneak in a big bunch of flowers this eve under his jacket, while I pretended not to notice Grin He then opened the wrong cupboard though, and found the secret stash of heart-shaped vanilla and chocolate shortbread I made for him! D'oh! So we're both going to feign surprise in the morning, lol!

Pomme everything you just said about DCs applies to DHs as well! Whenever I get snappy with DH, and then he goes to bed later, I always feel super guilty whilst looking at his sweet and innocent sleeping face. I swear he does it on purpose!

Sorry to hear about impetigo, rib pain, colds and all other suffering! I've just graduated to the point where I now need the wretched crutches just to get to the bathroom, so I share in everyone's pain! I hope we all get better soon! No brooking!!

Biscuitsandtea · 14/02/2012 01:03

Oh Scream I'm so sorry to hear you're in even more pain. I'm sending you a really gentle hug that doesn't require you to move at all xx

I've been trying to refrain from posting if I can't stop moaning about everything but here I am, awake again because I went to bed after DS Blush. I think I have a cold coming as my head / ears / teeth all ache. Now I'm not moaning about this (honest) but Dream I wondered if the rib thing could be exacerbated by a cold do you think? I vaguely recall that the last time I prob had the rib thing I might have had a cold too?

I'm waiting for a paracetemol to kick in and thanking my lucky stars that my mum is coming to visit tomorrow Smile

Also just wondering how Hawthers and Scarlet are getting on?

NinjaChipmunk · 14/02/2012 08:44

Scan in 3 hrs. Small packet of mini eggs brought to bribe ds to keep quiet Grin
Re the impetigo what has your doc given? When ds has septic spots/ bit of impetigo the other week we got fucidin cream to put on face and a rather grim tasting medicine and it was gone in about a week completely.
Sorry to hear about the pains everyone has, I hope everyone gets some decent rest.
Right. Off for a cuppa, back later

pommedechocolat · 14/02/2012 08:52

Oo ninja how exciting!! Can't wait to hear your news.

We have some antibiotic cream stuff but as she's so dribbley and snotty the doc said to put Vaseline on top. Easier said than done! She did however eat breakfast this am so fingers crossed. I was hoping for sooner than a week.

Does anyone else have a manically itchy scalp or know what it means? Dr checked my scalp for disease and nits yesterday and not that.

NinjaChipmunk · 14/02/2012 09:03

Don't know pomme, I know my skin has beed very dry recently but I have been putting that down to the weather. Maybe switch to a really gentle shampoo and not wash every day?

musicalmrs · 14/02/2012 09:35

Ninja, fingers crossed for a great scan! I'm out all today but will check back whenever I get the chance to hear your news! And.. what a lovely house! I love Rightmove hunting too. I especially enjoy nosing at the posh properties where I grew up :P DH has his eyes on a £4 million nearish us. I've told him he needs to work a bit harder first..!

Pomme, as Ninja said it could be that your shampoo is drying it out? You could try a "moisturising" shampoo too, that might help? And if you blow dry your hair try to leave it to a minimum?

Scream, hope you enjoyed feigning surprise! :) My DH isn't normally this sweet - we normally just do cards - think it's because he's away! He liked the gift I got him (some chocolates), but missed the card - d'oh! Now I've given him the heads up hopefully he'll find it later ;) There was also a gift card for a haircut in my card - I've been pondering getting mine cut (haven't done it for over a year!) for ages, so nice to know he listens!

Sorry to hear you need the crutches to get to the bathroom.. how horrific :(

Wants3 · 14/02/2012 10:00

Hi all, what romantics you all have! We are still economising like mad so just a note on the kitchen whitebourd for us. I wrote it at 5 this morning when I got up for the loo. I still have my creme egg stashed from last week so I will treat myself today:)
musical I will go back after Easter but my cover would have already started so I can just float serenely and answer any questions and make sure everything is in place.I then have 2 weeks holiday before ML starts the week of my due date.

DreamingOfPeace · 14/02/2012 10:25

biscuits, coughing is possibly making my ribs more sore but its not significantly worse than before :-( . However my dad has come to help me today as I'm struggling with hyper dd, being this big and the blooming cold.

We don't do Valentines day- 'commercial rubbish' so I'm told Wink . I did make dh a nice dinner yesterday as it was our first ever date on 13th Feb (easy to remember, phew) and dd and i made him a card at playgroup. She had a total tantrum about not being allowed to suck the pritstick though...

My bump and back are super itchy. Hadn't thought about my head but now you mention it
