Hi, welcome and congratulations evil!

I can't really comment on the food thing as I also have a UBB and am eating....everything Blush

I can't actually remember what i ate when pg with DS, a lot of cheese I think - but I like cheese.

Grumpy and tired and fed up with work this week. Excuse the unreasonable whine. Blush

32wk appointment was fine, don't need another till 38wks. I have a consultant appointment in between though to discuss 'mode of birth' because of the EMCS last time. Need to fill in something in the birth plan bit in my notes, the MW has commented on it's blankness the last twice!

Sounding good for the house musical :)

Brooking for lots of imminent sneeze births, at extremely convenient times Grin

Right, better do some work before I fall asleep....

Biscuitsandtea · 02/03/2012 07:08

Aw Jaggy sorry to hear you're tired etc. how long until you finish work?

The last couple of days I've had quite itchy palms and soles of my feet. Is that anything do you think? I suspect I'd be grasping at straws to think this would be a sign of imminent labour Grin

Off to the hospital for monitoring again this morning so will ask them there if I remember. I'm terrible at remembering to actually ask stuff though Blush.

I've now agreed with DH that I will only phone him in work hours if I'm in labour now, so he can leave his phone on in his meetings etc (without being disturbed by me wanting to know what he'd like for dinner Grin). So he now has to leave his phone not on silent which means he'll probably get about 20 calls in every meeting he goes to Confused. Still, I can't see a way around it. Obviously he can bounce calls not from me, but it's not ideal I guess in a meeting for his phone to keep ringing.

musicalmrs · 02/03/2012 07:16

Ooh, almost time for a new thread!

Just quickly wanted to reply to Wants before I head into London to teach. I'd be quite tempted to say no personally :( My DH has been asked if he'll go to Bangkok for work for a week when I'll be 32 weeks, and he's umming and aahing about that - I've said he can go, but he's unsure about it. Then again, he's been told he might not get an overseas allowance for it (and thus make extra money) - which would have been a deciding factor.

His situation is complicated, though, by the fact there are only two others in his department - one's wife will be 38 wks pregnant at that point, and the other person is on holiday before all the paternity leave starts!

I'd personally be not so sure about letting him go - but you have got your wonderful two DS's to look after you :) Him going earlier during Easter sounds like a fabulous idea.

jaggythistle · 02/03/2012 07:39

Four weeks once this one is over Biscuits (I am working all weekend though so it's a long one). This is my last shift when I have to get up at stupid o'clock and work at 6am though - I've struggled a bit this week. 8am start tomorrow will be like a long lie! It's been a busy week too, I've already had somebody impatient on the phone looking for results this morning...

That's a difficult one wants - I was going to say the same as biscuits about your capable sounding DSs looking after you while he's away if he can go earlier! Would make me very nervous I think!

zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

Biscuitsandtea · 02/03/2012 09:05

OK so the hospital have decided that I don't need monitoring after all today (to be honest I'm not quite sure why I did anyway). But they want me to go in for an appt with one of the doctor's this afternoon to 'make a plan'. Again not entirely sure what that'll involve Confused

Surely, I went in with reduced movements, they monitored, it was fine, they send me away, end of? Anyway, we'll see what the doc say this afternoon. I imagine he'll say 'Have you had lots of movements since Monday?' I'll say 'Yes' and he'll say 'super - bugger off and come back when you're in labour' Grin.

But I will do as I'm told - I'll never turn down someone taking care of me :)

Biscuitsandtea · 02/03/2012 09:27

Oh, and I've put up a new bump photo from Tuesday just gone. My mum thinks my bump as 'dropped massively'. I think she might have been working backwards from the fact that the baby was coming yesterday and therefore the bump must have dropped by Tuesday Hmm.

Anyway, I must also apologise - I do have other jumpers other than the striped one (although to be fair not loads! Blush) and I must also apologise for subjecting you all to my swollen sausage fingers in the latest pic!

PopcornMouseInBoots · 02/03/2012 09:27

:o ninja

How exciting musical ! That's moving along really quickly, which is great ? good luck! :)

I've never heard that theory evil - I've been eating loads of croissants and haribo

It would be a big fat NO from me too, wants though mostly because my sister gave birth at 34 weeks and I can imagine the last thing she'd have needed on top of a poorly baby is a DH on the other side of the world Shock I think apart from anything else, he would spend years regretting missing it for something as unimportant as work? :o

I am soooo utterly exhausted. I feel like I could sleep forever and I feel dizzy if I stand up quick. This is all normal, right? coz it sucks

Biscuitsandtea · 02/03/2012 09:29

ooooh croissants - now I want croissants Popcorn!!

The tiredness thing is sadly very normal in those early days. So hard, especially when you can't even tell anyone why you could literally fall asleep standing up!

Be careful with the being dizzy thing - could be blood pressure? I don't think it's uncommon but you should always keep an eye on anything like that. How many weeks are you now? Do you have a booking in appt arranged with the mw?

PopcornMouseInBoots · 02/03/2012 09:30

Corr you're mahoosive Biscuits :o :o but very glowy and lovely, obviously :o

Maybe they'll just give you a quick scan or something? [confsued] it does sound like an odd thing to go all the way to the hospital for, a discussion on "what next" ?

PopcornMouseInBoots · 02/03/2012 09:31

I'm 8+4, booking in on 10+2 - I have low-ish blood pressure generally, it could be that? I am seeing a nurse on Tues for a blood test though so I could ask if she wouldn't mind checking it...

Biscuitsandtea · 02/03/2012 09:37

I can quite imagine that it will take me longer to park than the appointment will take this afternoon - surely the answer to 'what next' is 'errr, the baby will come out eventually'? Anyway, we'll see what they say. I think they're just a bit confused as to why the doc on Monday wanted me to go back so daren't send me away without someone checking me or just at least talking to me, in case there was something that got missed?

Fortunately DS is in nursery so I have nothing better to do with my time anyway GrinHmm. I am glad I hadn't put him in specifically for this though, because I wouldn't have taken him along if I was going to be monitored, so would have had to put him somewhere if it hadn't been his nursery day in any case.

I think it sounds very wise to get the nurse to check the BP on Tuesday Pop - and take it easy over the weekend. Make sure DH waits on you hand and foot Grin

NinjaChipmunk · 02/03/2012 09:49

pop I have always had lowish bp and yes it can make you feel dizzy. Take your time standing when going from sitting to standing and also carry some snacks with you, I was told eating little and often can be a help with the dizzyness. But I would also check on Tuesday and see if they recommend anything else. I have also been told your bp is at its lowest in the morning if that makes any difference? 8+4 already, brilliant!
More weird dreams last night. But I at least know these are linked to something I had to research at work! I owned a rather lovely craft type shop and was running some kind of 'stitch and bitch' class or something. Crap nights sleep other than that. Got a play date at a friends house later (well ds has, I'll be drinking tea and eating biscuits).
When did you all get your Mat B1 forms? I think you get them after your 20 week scan but I still haven't got mine and I'm 23 weeks I think....I need to give it to work! Would I chase the docs or the midwives for it?
biscuits I hope your docs plan is as simple as you say Grin 'go away, start labour, go to hospital, sneeze out baby, go home'

PopcornMouseInBoots · 02/03/2012 09:55

Ooo ninja I'd so come to your stitch and bitch :o I can't remember mine from last night, I think I was too tired!

Sadly DH is working all weekend but I'm not seeing anyone or doing anything strenuous, so it should be fine. I also feel a bit wibbly-legged when I get up in the night, now I think of it, and I'd guess it's probably linked too (I had assumed I was just super tired).

Good luck at your appointment biscuits

NinjaChipmunk · 02/03/2012 09:59

pop it was like I owned the Purl Bee or something, really rather lovely!

Biscuitsandtea · 02/03/2012 10:02

Ninja, I never got a Mat B1 because I don't work, but the mw did ask of I needed one. It was def the mw rather than the docs though. Can't remember which appt it was at? 24 or 28 weeks?

I'm sure someone will be along though who's actually had one!

When is your next mw appt? If not for a while you could always call the mw and chase it up?

Wow though for being 23 weeks already!!! That seems to have flown by, to me at least - probably not for you! Grin

Biscuitsandtea · 02/03/2012 10:03

And I'm so going to put that in the birth plan bit of my notes. Just one word: 'Sneeze' and see what they make of it Grin

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 02/03/2012 10:10

It would be a big no-no from me as well Wants. I've already specifically banned my DH from leaving the country during the 3rd trimester or the first 3 months after birth and we've had numerous arguments about it since As unlikely as a premature birth would be, if it did happen there's no one I would need more than my DH at that time.

I'm a bit of a fraidy first-timer about all this though, considering I also banned DH from booking onto a triathalon in May (less than a month after my due date!). It wasn't so much the triathalon itself that I objected to (he is allowed out of the house occasionally! Grin) it's just that in the run up to an event like this he spends hours and hours training everyday. I didn't want to be arguing with him a week after the birth over whether he was going to go running or actually take a turn looking after our newborn! Hmm In the end he booked onto a triathalon in early April instead, so it should be out of the way by the time the baby is born (and if the baby is early he'll just have to miss it!)

I spoke to the consultant's secretary this morning and she's going to remind the consultant to call me today, but he's got a day of surgeries booked so there's no real hope of a call. I'm worried that by the time I ring up to chase again on Monday the secretary will be fed up with me, and secretaries are like bartenders - you NEVER want to piss them off!

Biscuits that does seem like a wishy-washy reason for an appt (altho it's nice they're taking care of you.) Is there anything you'd like to get out of the meeting perhaps? Maybe you can turn this to your advantage? I have a crazy long list of questions/requests - one for a cs and one for a vb! Do you want to ask the consultant anything today?

Also, love the pic Biscuits! Although I can't see the obvious drop myself! As for your DH's phone, is there anyone he could leave the phone with while he's in meetings - does he have a secretary? Other than that maybe he could just put the phone on vibrate rather than have the volume on. I think his colleagues will get pretty fed up if his phone is constantly ringing in meetings - despite the good reason behind it!

Popcorn I also had the super tiredness and dizziness at your stage. For me it just passed after 12 weeks with no specific action taken. I kind of put it down to my body making a huge adjustment at a time when I wasn't eating much due to all the nausea. Certainly when my blood pressure was checked that was fine. It's still a good idea to mention it at your appt though!

I hope everyone else is doing well this morning, particularly our soon-to-sneeze No Brookers!

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 02/03/2012 10:14

Loving Biscuits' birth plan!

Ninja my work were chasing me for the MATB1 form from about 20 weeks, but the GP told me they can't issue them until you reach 24 weeks. In the end he prepared it for me dead on 24 weeks exactly and just left it at the GP reception for DH me to collect. My midwife could also have done the form, she was planning to at our 25 week appt, but because I was already signed off at this point and work were getting anxious about me being out for pg reasons without a form, I just accepted the GP's offer.

PurpleWithaBlueBun · 02/03/2012 10:15

Biscuits itchy hand and feet, I believe is a sign of obstetric cholestasis, I would definitely mention this in your appt!

Biscuitsandtea · 02/03/2012 10:19

I think he will have his phone on vibrate rather than ringing - in fact I've never heard his phone do more than a pathetic little squeak! But a lot of his meetings are at clients' premises rather than at his office so the secretary thing wouldn't really work. I will suggest it for his in-office meetings though - good idea!

To be honest I don't think I do have much in the way of questions. I'm less freaked out more positive about the whole vb thing so I'm really just waiting.

How frustrating about trying to get the cons to call you back Confused. Hope he squeezes you in. I'm sure the receptionist won't get fed up with you though Smile Like the comparison to a bartender though! Smile

Biscuitsandtea · 02/03/2012 10:24

Thanks for the OC pointer Purple - I'll definitely bring that up. Hopefully it's nothing that serious Confused

PurpleWithaBlueBun · 02/03/2012 10:37

Popcorn very normal to be dizzy.etc in first trimester, but it won't hurt to get it checked.

Biscuits I think you have definitely expanded since your last pic, but I can't see a drop I think it is possibly your Mums wishful thinking? :)

Sneeze! :o

Wants if he could go earlier I would be happy with that, we will be brooking for no labouring when it came about so obviously it isn't going to happen.

Ninja I got mine at my 20 week scan, I just asked my mws who were happy at any time after 20 weeks to issue it. Give them a call maybe? It has been mws who did mine each time.

Music things are really moving along what an incredible year 2012 will be for you! :)

I can't remember what else I was going to put, we are still ill over here and off to the DRs this afternoon. I feel awful, I really can't be going into to labour right now.

ScreamIfYouWantToGoFaster · 02/03/2012 10:51
