Just wanted to say a quick thanks for all the kind thoughts. I'm just in a stupid feel-sorry-for-myself mood, and I need to snap out of it. There are a million useful things I could be doing rather than moping around.

My Mum and my Nan are both on their way to my house right now though, to have lunch with me. They are both very no-nonsense women (my Nan is a proper Jamaican grandmother in that respect!) and I'm sure they'll have me sorted out in no time!

Good luck with sorting the mice Biscuits! Yuk yuk yuk. If it makes you feel any better, just 5 minutes ago I was on the phone to my Mum and looked down and there was a spider on my upper arm!! It was almost at my hair!! I screamed so loud DH came running and immediately rescued me before taking the piss for the next few minutes So personally I'm in a non-humane mood and I say kill all vermin!

p.s. Musical I believe the appropriate medical dosage of creme eggs after a blood test is one per vial of blood taken? I do hope you'll bear this in mind Wink

p.p.s. Ninja I second what everyone else said about you being the one to take priority this eve! It could be the last time for a long while!

Imps7 · 17/02/2012 12:11

How on earth did I miss this shiny new thread! I am clearly not keeping up with the PSEPP news as often as I should.

Hope you're carrying out routine maintenance on my glittery vom bucket - I shall of course be needing it sooner than you can say "pass the glittery vom bucket".

pommedechocolat · 17/02/2012 12:17

Imps - I have decorated it with glittery waybuloo stickers appropriated from dd for you. It's ready and waiting :)

I had a strange antenatal visit from a HV this am. She gave me another copy of the birth to five book, a red book for dd2 and told me about her new scheme for clinic. That was it. Anyone else having one of these or is it a sussex thing?

Get baby out plan;

I have just had a chat with my MW friend and she took evening primrose capsules strong dose, good quality ones, orally and punctured the capsule with a sterile needle and used it as a pessary from 38 weeks. Dh has been instructed to go to the health food shop.

Also, clary sage oil, rubbed into feet, in the bath mixed with milk and mixed with oil for massage. And of course raspberry leaf tea.

Also time to start perineal massage anyone approaching 34 weeks!

Hello Imps :)

Ninja of course you should be the one to go out!

Scream sorry you feel so bad, I hope a bit of family love will sort you out. I need a Jamaican Grandmother, send her my way if you get fed up! Wink

Popcorn you get used to fanjo rummaging, if your nervous you can always have gas too, although not for sweeps.

Bleurgh about how common mice seem to be, I like my cats a little more now...
Dream you can have my cat? I can post him in a box with holes? Wink

Biscuitsandtea · 17/02/2012 13:56

Liking your organised plan Purple - you should patent it!

Scream hope you're having a lovely time with your Mum and non-nonsense Nan. As everyone else says feel free to vent on here any time. We're all here for you Smile

Thank you for all being so kind about my cleaning marathon. Smile once I'd written it down it looked a bit lame, but it makes me feel better if others say I worked hard Smile (even if you're being polite!)

Onwards and upwards with today's list. Mainly just the hoovering, ironing and dusting to do!

Forgotten everything else......

Biscuitsandtea · 17/02/2012 13:59

Ah that was it - Imps lovely to see you as ever. That vom bucket'll be in use before you know it!

And yes musical, Scream is right on the official ratio of creme eggs to vials of blood taken. I might be forced to report you to the Easter Police if you're not applying the rules properly Wink. I believe there is a clause that allows you to replace a creme egg for a Malteser Bunny if you wish.

And yes yes yes to stocking up in the Easter egg sales. I will be to get me through bf-ing!!

musicalmrs · 17/02/2012 14:38

Wonderful to see you over here Imps. Not look until you'll be here for good! :)

Scream, hope your Mum and Nan pick your mood up :) I have those kinds of moods every now and again, and I'm sure I'm not the only one. I often pick up when I'm with other people - hoping the same will happen for you :)

And, Scream and Biscuits, I'm sorry to report that I've been ignoring medical advice (one creme egg to three vials of blood). I'll be sure to address the balance when I go out later Wink

Purple, your get baby out plan sounds excellent. When do you begin such things? I may have to borrow it in preparation for when my time comes :)

Biscuits, I also have ironing to do this afternoon :( Along with planning for at least two more schools and some proposals to sort out. What fun...!

PurpleWithaBlueBun · 17/02/2012 14:55

Music 32 weeks for RLT, 34 weeks perineal massage or earlier if you want to take it really slow, I am surprised by my level of discomfort and I have started late so feel a bit pressured.
I guess 37 weeks for clary sage and oral primrose caps, 38 weeks internal primrose caps. Also hypnotherapy birthing cd from 30 weeks.
I also have been bouncing on my ball every day for about a week but that would be good any time.

Biscuits you are much more productive than me! I definitely identify with one useful thing a day! There are so many things I want to do but just can't manage now, hoovering, mopping and putting washing in I do still do but boy is it uncomfortable and hurt!

I need some brooking! I have put a bag of clothes in a 'safe' place and it had my baby hats in so really need to find it! Brook for me please Wink

pommedechocolat · 17/02/2012 15:30

I still haven't started the massage Blush. I never did it last time either. I bought some oil and then just looked at the oil. Something about it makes me go eek which is really stupid I know...

Evening Primrose capsules as a pessary?? OO that's interesting. I can't take the capsules due to med interaction but I'm sure soaking into my fanjo would be fine.

Purple - Brooking for safe location of clothes. That's the kind of thing I've been doing since 30 weeks too. Being ultra organised really early and then being baby brained nearer the time and loosing everything!

DreamingOfPeace · 17/02/2012 15:33

popcorn, I shudder at the mere memory of the internals. I don't think I could have a sweep, I thought being examined was worse than contractions!!!

ninja, totally you for going out. No question. Sad for your dh but hey ho.

I am at the weepy stage of tired and can't sleep (I remember being too tired to sleep like this after dd's birth and in her first 2 months- I am sure this and the up-all-night are not meant to be so present when expecting your next!). Dd is still asleep, but quite restless as she's coughing a lot. I am feeling sorry for myself. Friends up this weekend for first time in months and I'm dreading it as dd not sleeping and i feel so shit bad. Poor dd has caught our man-flu and has two pus-streaming angry-looking eyes. Sigh. More illness.

I am going to be stocking up on creme eggs big time after Easter. Big time!! I'm on at least one a day currently...

biscuits your cleaning was genuinely impressive.

And purple, I love that dress!! Should I just go for it and pray I'll fit in a 10 in 8 weeks?! I would have after dd but no way am I ditching the creme eggs dieting and I'm bigger than last time already... Dilemma...

DreamingOfPeace · 17/02/2012 15:34

And no way will be allowed to pay £250 on a breast pump. I didn't get on with it all last time either. Not even a drop. Clearly I'll have no trouble this time but... Hmm

DreamingOfPeace · 17/02/2012 15:35

But it looks really good...

Sorry for multiple posts, phone playing up

Biscuitsandtea · 17/02/2012 15:40

Pomme - I hear ya on the massage thing - I don't know, it just makes me feel all Confused. I know I should crack on with it but.....

Dream you poor sausage Sad

Maybe your friends visiting will provide a bit of a change, which might be good? I know it will still be tiring but something different nonetheless.

Needless to say I am brooking both that your DD can shake this off, and that Purple can find the missing bag. My vote is for it being under a bed / cot of some sort.

pommedechocolat · 17/02/2012 15:49

Purple - I think your bump looks lower in your most recent pic by the way.

Dream - ill again? rubbish! Poor you and dd. Biscuits might be right about the weekend you know.

Biscuitsandtea · 17/02/2012 15:53

'might be right' Pomme? My husband can verify I am always right Wink

pommedechocolat · 17/02/2012 15:54

I like that system biscuits. Dh still refuses to accept that about me!

PurpleWithaBlueBun · 17/02/2012 16:00

Dream why don't you leave breast pump purchase until after you have had the babies? Or find out if anywhere near you hires them out? If you didn't express well last time, you may not this time either. The hosp will have pumps if you end up on SCBU and of course you can hand express.

I am definitely not buying a dress until after I have had the baby, would be worried about wasting the money. Maybe bookmark it and hope it is still there? I guess you will just work harder at postnatal exercises? I am going to eat healthily once I have had the baby and try and do my exercises to bring my muscles back and hope this helps...

Oh and the bag, I have looked in all logical places! Gah. Only thing is Dh has had to look under the bed.etc and he isn't good at looking! They have also had over 2 months to camouflage!

I view the perineal massage as a necessary evil! Bloody uncomfortable, but I feel the need to do it as there will be a head coming out of there! Ouch ouch ouch. I also didn't tear last time, so worry of I don't do it I will tear this time.

Oh and my internals were worse than crowning, but mine were really invasive and I had a lot of them! Whole hand up there jobs never known such agony. :( I see the sweeps as hopefully avoiding these things and induction and want as many as poss asap!

Biscuitsandtea · 17/02/2012 16:01

Ah that's ok Pomme, it just means he's wrong - simples Smile

Since we're always right, if we say we're always right, then that must be right too. Fact. QED

jenfraggle · 17/02/2012 16:45

For you nutty people what like them minging fings :)

jenfraggle · 17/02/2012 18:12
scarletfingernail · 17/02/2012 18:42

Literally just got back from Sainsburys jen, but no Creme Eggs allowed in my trolley In fact the thought of perineal massage is slightly
more appealing than eating a Creme Egg Grin

What a relief this week is over. I now have 2 days of workman free house. It's an absolute tip, I feel like crying constantly because I just cannot keep it clean while this is all going on. Not much point in trying to get stuck in over the weekend and we'll have more people back on Monday.

Can't wait for pomme, purple and Too's announcements. It really does seem to have gone fast since Christmas.

Wants I'm also brooking no argument that your nephew's operation will be a fantastic success and that your DSis will find a way to make things as stress free as possible.

Biscuits I freaked out on your behalf about the mouse. I would not like that at all! DS worried me the other day when he pointed to a hole in the kitchen skirting board and told me there was a brown mouse who lived in there. Coincidentally the mouse has the same name as him, also has a mummy and daddy and lots of toys Hmm I really hope not.

dream I hope you get a better night tonight and your weekend isn't too stressful. It'll probably a good idea to go ahead with your plans though, at least you'll have done it then and having got to worry about re-arranging it when you might be feeling worse.

Scream I hope you had a great afternoon with your Mum and Nan. I am often foul and miserable for no good reason whatsoever. Good company always manages to snap me out of it.

Biscuitsandtea · 17/02/2012 19:57

Right, I've finally got round to looking at some of these bump pics, as I'm finally on the computer! I mostly post from my phone so never get to look.

And what some lovely bumps there are too! Now, I think Pomme, Purple and Dream have put up recent pics - have I missed anyone?

I've also just taken the opportunity to put up a bump pic for me for today. I actually don't think I look that big this time round. I guess not much smaller than last time, but not bigger I don't think? By this stage last time, I was definitely getting a lot of 'not long to go now?' type comments, which I haven't really had at all this time. Maybe it's because it's winter so I'm under a coat, or maybe I just don't look so enormous! My mum is convinced 'it's a totally different shape' which i'm not so sure about - looks the same to me Hmm

Pizza and DH should be here soon - yum :)

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 17/02/2012 20:42

Oooh, Biscuits, I have that Ikea chest of drawers too! Your bump looks lovely. The MW today said I had suddenly exploded into looking really very pregnant Hmm. I think it's because Bean was breech for a few weeks and has now flipped over and gone head down. When I can be bothered to get out of bed I'll find the camera and take a pic.

Envy of pizza. We had boiled eggs and soldiers for dinner because neither of us could be bothered driving to Tesco. My egg might have been slightly runnier than recommended I wish there was a Domino's near enough to deliver here.

Scarlet, yay for 2 workmen-free days! It's horrible to feel so overwhelmed by the cleaning. Sad I find it too hard to keep on top of mine without the added element of workmen tromping in and out. I mopped the kitchen floor last Friday and it looked beautiful for about 2 hours, and then DH got coal dust on his shoes and walked across it without noticing Angry, and then the dog muddied it up before anyone noticed how wet he was on Saturday morning. It feels so futile!

Scream, hope you are feeling better after your mum and grandma visited. The dark twisty thoughts sound most unpleasant. Loving the Creme Egg to blood vial ratio - I have to give blood for the pre-op checks the day before the section and shall be counting the vials carefully! It's nil by mouth from midnight the day before the section, so shall have to pre-load with Creme Eggs.

Pomme, would sex post-sweep perhaps help things along a bit? After all, if semen is meant to do the trick, introducing it when the cervix has been fiddled with might help.

I didn't find internals too awful - not my favourite thing, by all means, but not too painful. It is weird - having someone touch your cervix is what hurts, but that bit really doesn't last long. The trouble is that during labour it ramps up the contractions for a while, which does hurt. I had a couple of exams during early labour (at 1 cm on the Thurs, then at 2 cm on the Sat) and the next contraction in both cases was agonising. My sweep (at about lunchtime on the Thurs at 41 weeks exactly) caused a show and started the cx going about 4 hours later, but they tailed off again by Friday morning and didn't restart until lunchtime on the Saturday. So it sort of worked to get me going, but not quite enough.

Ninja, what happened in the end with your night out? Hope you're out enjoying yourself right now!

NinjaChipmunk · 18/02/2012 00:42

I have indeed been on my night out too we managed to find another person fro the nursery who ds knew who could do it, although it was massively last minute (a text at about 3pm but didn't manage to talk to her till 6 to confirm for definite!). Was v nice dinner though so worth the hassle.
I think I shall toddle off to bed now, god knows when dp will roll in, he better not snore too loud or I may have to climb into bed with ds.
