Not so impressed with dp after he rolled in at 5.15 this morning. He snored so much I got in with ds at 6 who was then awake till 7.30 when he then managed to snooze for an hour. We are supposed to be leaving to visit my folks at 11.30. Can't see that happening on time although i may give ds permission to use any means neccessary to wake him shortly.

pommedechocolat · 18/02/2012 10:25

Ninja - Glad you had a good evening but 5.15!! I would be very unimpressed indeed.

I went out last night too for dinner with some friends who in a very UK version of a baby shower gave me some maternity pads and chocolate buttons as a pressie for upcoming event!

I have now just eaten a creme egg too, yum yum!

Too - Eek - maybe. Actual proper hide your sausage sex hasn't happened around here for a long, long while but maybe you're right. Back to ttc and 'clambering on' maybe...

Biscuits - You look all bump now, it's a lovely one :)

Biscuitsandtea · 18/02/2012 10:32

Grin @ 'proper hide your sausage sex' Pomme! Grin

Nb, just Grin at the term - much underused. It hasn't happened here either for some time and I'm not sure I could even if it was to send me into labour!

Way TMI here but my lips and tongue are so sore from this cold /weird burnt tongue thing I couldn't even kiss at the moment - poor DH Sad

Biscuitsandtea · 18/02/2012 10:33

Oh and glad you had a lovely night Ninja - but I think I too would be tempted to send DS in to wake him up Grin

Biscuitsandtea · 18/02/2012 10:34

By 'him', I mean your stop-out-til-all-hours DH - that was a poorly worded sentence

Wants3 · 18/02/2012 11:08

Ds1 asked what made me laugh out loud, I had to tell him about pommes sausage comment! He will be 17 next month and found it funny too :)
I am off to set up and run a jumble sale to raise funds for my preschool so will be out until late this afternoon. It is usually a bit of a scrum but we have a laugh.

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 18/02/2012 13:15

Grin at hide your sausage sex! Hasn't happened here in a long time either, but desperate times call for desperate measures!

I went for a walk this morning and it started to snow, so we turned around and tried to hurry home. Cue shooting pains in my cervix and lower bump - think they were BH but not really sure. Ouch! (No hide the sausage will be going on here - don't want to encourage anything to happen at this stage)

I have uploaded a couple of bump pics, or at least I've tried. Someone tell me if they didn't work and I'll try to fix it.

Glad you had a good night, Ninja, but I too would have been miffed at DH returning at 5.15. DS would have been sent to jump on him very early doors.

Loving the fact I made no brokers laugh throughout the whole country with sausage sex :)

I also wanting to add another tip on labour - laughter! Last night 3 of us were pregnant and we had lots of those laugh till you cry moments and all of us found it painful at the top of our bump. On the way home I had some really intense braxton hicks and then had a loose movement when I got home which can be the body preparing for labour iirc?

pommedechocolat · 18/02/2012 19:14

Too - Nice bump and nice all black outfit too! Your hair is gorgeous and so is your dd1. xx

Biscuitsandtea · 18/02/2012 19:32

Yup - agreed Too gorgeous bump and Thea is gorgeous too xx

scarletfingernail · 18/02/2012 19:52

Loving the bump pics Biscuits and Too. Beautiful photo of you with DD1 Too.

I will get round to putting a bump pic on, just need to figure out what I'm doing with my new phone.

There's no hiding the sausage going on here, or any sort of relations tbh. DH does not like SFF when I'm pg, it makes him feel very uncomfortable. Not that I'm bothered, it's a welcome break from it Grin. I actually get to read my book in bed for as long as I want.

I'm pleased to hear you had your night out Ninja. I bet your DH has been suffering today.

Re internals/sweeps etc. I've never been bothered by having an internal, guess I must be lucky. I was begging them to keep checking me throughout my labour, I needed to know my progress. They refused in the end, they said I was having too many Grin.

Sweeps on the other hand. OMG I thought she'd ripped out my insides! I do not ever want another one of those. I cried proper tears for hours after that, it was so brutal. She did warn me she was going to do a good one, and it did actually break my waters there and then, so she obviously knew what she was doing.

Biscuitsandtea · 18/02/2012 20:26

I don't really think I had any internals last time, and definitely no sweeps. Hope I don't need to this time either.

Scarlet - same here on the SFF thing - DH doesn't feel comfortable with it, and especially this time after so long SWI before, I'm a bit glad of the break Blush.

Still, I'm still cooking his meals for him - so I'm not a terrible wife Grin

scarletfingernail · 18/02/2012 21:42

Grin Biscuits I like your thinking. I must also be a good wife on that basis.

I have to say a massive THANK YOU to Jaggy. I have on your recommendation bought some Bavaria alcohol free lager. It is fantastic! So much better than the Cobra, I almost can't tell it's alcohol free.

jaggythistle · 19/02/2012 10:10

glad to be of service! i once saw someone who really likes beer drink it at a party, when he was driving, so i figured it must be good and it seems to be! Grin

i have to say my DH is a bit disappointed at the lack of sausage related activity. :( i feel bad for him but i mostly just can't be bothered and don't really feel like it. work and chasing DS about seem to take up my energy. Blush

jaggythistle · 19/02/2012 10:19

if anyone finds an alcohol free wine that isn't weirdly fizzy or unpleasant, let me know. :)

missing my wine a bit more this time. not too long to wait though, 10 weeks give or take a few depending on dc2's punctuality...

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 19/02/2012 10:24

DH is too scared to want to hide the sausage after my spotting episode, but that still leaves other activities Wink. He has man flu right now, though, so I'm off the hook. He usually cooks, so I have to be a good wife in other ways...

Pomme, my all-black outfit consists of my really comfy scruffy joggers and a black H&M top that's too see-through to wear to work (cheap thin cotton, not provocatively or intentionally see-through)! I call it my ninja costume. I love those joggers. How are you this morning? Did the BH etc develop into anything?

Scarlet, your sweep sounds brutal! Mine wasn't anything like that! I was also begging to be examined because I wanted to know how much progress I'd made. Think they were a bit taken aback, tbh - they kept going are you sure, are you sure? (and then they would examine me and say you're still 5 cm, 4 hours after being 4 cm Sad)

OP posts:
TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 19/02/2012 10:26

Don't know about the alcohol-free wine, jaggy, sorry. I've been drinking things like elderflower cordial in tonic in an attempt to find a not-too-sickly soft drink (it's hard!).

pommedechocolat · 19/02/2012 11:32

too- nothing developed just hoping the bh are helping everything get ready! I had a madras last night as well... Your black outfit looks a lot better than you make it sound. I'm living pj bottoms currently.

PurpleWithaBlueBun · 19/02/2012 12:08

New pic up, dressed to match the hideous wallpaper! I know my bump has changed shape since last week but I don't think it is so visible as I thought it would be. Maybe the baby is just in a different position?

I am shattered, was up last night with back ache and a bit of Braxton hicks so my body is gearing up! I am nesting badly and was lining the baby's draws last night with paper and then wrote a to do list for today, with assigned tasks for everyone, which I am hoping to get through. I am in a foul mood, my family is really going to love me today! Ha!

My sweeps were fine, felt like someone had been a bit 'rough' with me IYKWIM afterwards. Wink

Hope everyone is ok, sorry if I have missed anything glaringly obvious!

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 19/02/2012 12:39

Purple, your bump is lovely! I think your boobs are bigger since last week, but it might just be the picture.

I am currently wearing ancient navy shrunken pj bottoms and a big green woolly jumper. This is not a good look! I am starting to think about nesting, but have just worn myself out trying to find a particular CD that I wanted to put on while cleaning. I still can't find it and the cleaning is now on hold because rummaging in boxes under the bed was hard work. I want DH to nest on my behalf but he isn't keen. To be fair, he is currently trying to put the bed back together - it fell apart when we moved it to unplug something, and we thought it was fixed last night but it turns out that the middle section wasn't attached and it was being held up by the storage boxes, oops! Right, I will go and put a load of washing on, and then I will either wash the kitchen window or dust the hall bookcases. My nesting tends to involve cleaning things that aren't really a priority.

Ill DD = way too much night time activity for me. she has conjunctivitis in both eyes plus this blinking cough and cold. I have coughed til I've plled my tummy muscles so my bump kills...Plus a baby has moved (twin 1) and is sat very near my sciatic nerve so every now and then I'm getting stop-you-in-your-tracks pain all down my right leg. Whinge whinge whinge whinge whinge.

Plus, I've run out of Rennies! How has this been allowed to happen?! Gavison was not cutting it last night. I have since found 6 (now 4) with a best before date of sometime in 2010 and I can confirm they still work! (desperate times...)

on the positive side- purple, i agree, your bump has kind of dropped and flattened off a bit- reckon that baby is visibly lower. (p.s. DH's mother loves Hugo and wants it for one of our boys! with our super short surname we're still thinking something longer though, esp if one is a Sebastian in the end). Also agree with too's increased boobage comment Smile

too, gorgeous pic of you and Thea. And your bump is very neat too. I'm going to do another. I'm so uncomfortable and big I'm getting a bit worried about coping til the end with DD... No-one on this thread has ballooned and become huge, everyone seems to have lovely neat baby bumps! Will look forward to yours scarlet. Hope you're enjoying your 2 builder-free days of peace and your DS is getting back to his normal self.

ooooh, forgot to say, biscuits, you'll be interested, and the rest of the Pro Creme Egg brigade- we have got some cadburys creme egg ice cream. My friend who doesn't like creme eggs much at all (says she coulldn't eat a whole one?!) even agrees its lovely. It rocks.

My dh is also not going for hide-the-sausage activity. Even though we both know it's not going to cause me to go into labour unless my cervix was pretty ready anyway we've been put off by it being two. Hmm.

Must get on- i'm actually on the computer to buy cotbed mattress protectors an sheets, as DH is currently taking the double bed away to make space to build the boys' cotbeds. Hurray! We'll be able to get in the house easily again too once they've moved from where they block entry to the house Smile

pommedechocolat · 19/02/2012 16:47

purple - Your bump has definitely grown and agree - so has your cleavage! So near now!

Dream - I was about to have a whinge about dd2's movements creating shooting pains in my cervix every time she moves (anyone else having this?) but I think you win so I won't even try! :)

My madras gave me some interesting moments in the bathroom but nothing else!

PurpleWithaBlueBun · 19/02/2012 17:01

I think my boobs have filled out a bit. Pomme I have been experiencing thisand I was having Braxtons early this AM! I have been feeling quite a lot of pressure now too. Might try hiding the sausage see if it helps lol!

Do you think my bump has changed in the week or are you all humouring me? Wink

Dream I can't imagine how you must be feeling, I have been so uncomfortable myself so can't imagine having two babies in there AND having a poorly Dd. :( Not much longer and your beautiful boys will be here.
Pleased your mil likes Hugo! Eric has made it onto the short list but Hugo is still at the top.

Too I think when you are comfy in something and wear it a lot you start you undervalue how it looks, I do it all the time. Nice pics :)

I am wondering what to get Dd as a present from the baby? I swing from nice doll, which is a bit pointless as she has loads to maybe a Peppa pig magazine lol

I hope everyone is having a fun filled weekend? :)

jenfraggle · 19/02/2012 17:08

purple would your dd like a big sister something from ds? I saw some tops in mothercare the other day with big sister on them.

I'm having period like pains this afternoon, they are so strong that I keep feeling like I need to check my knickers for blood :( It's been years and years since I've had pains like it as when I was on the pill I didn't get them.

TooImmatureTurtleDoves · 19/02/2012 17:11

Shooting pains in cervix - yes, yes, yes! It really hurts. The MW laughed at me when I said Bean kicked me in the cervix, but what is it, then? It feels like having a sweep, sort of. Not like period/labour pains, though.

Dream, is your 30 week pic today's? Your bump is so nicely shaped! It is big but you are so slim that it looks all baby, iyswim. Brooking that the pulled tummy muscles, cough and sciatica go away, and that DD gets better soon. Conjunctivitis is so horrible.

Am v interested in the Creme Egg ice cream. Might have to stop at Tesco on the way home tomorrow - do they stock it there?

2 weeks and 5 days to go! Still 2 more weeks of work, boo. Why did I want to work right up to the end again? (I know really it is in case I freak myself out worrying while at home alone, but it is hard to convince myself of that on a Sunday afternoon!)
