Hi ladies - I'm new here and thought I should say hello. Have spent ages trying to catch up on all the posts! It seems a very busy thread and so much (good and bad) has happened already. you seem like a lovely group of wise and very caring ladies!
I'm 8+4 and due on 6 Sept. I saw my dr about 3 weeks ago and was amazed to be told I had to choose my hospital ASAP. anyway, I did and have eventually heard from the mw there and have dates for my first 2 appointments (at 10 weeks and 12 weeks).
Am generally ok, though noticeably tired, crampy and constantly nauseous (tho mild and not throwing up), and amazed at how big my belly seems! But it must be holiday weight and/ or bloating at this stage! I can't comfortably wear most of my clothes and am living in 2 or 3 empire line dresses and leggings. I went out and bought a larger denim skirt (size14 - am usually a 10 or 12), which has been a life saver!! My boobs aren't really sore or obviously growing, but enough symptoms are convincingly there!!
I can't seem to find anything I want to eat! Everything ends up being disgusting and I can't face it again! Keep wandering round the supermarket trying to find something I want, but nothing hits the spot. Generally snacking on carbs all day long, but it doesn't really help. yesterday was a terrible day. Felt so sick, and hungry and tired and sorry for myself, and nothing helped! Lay on the sofa crying and reading your posts! It helps being able to share. I have told 3 of my closest friends for that reason, and one colleague at work - it helps having someone to watch my back! DH is pleased but I think a little overwhelmed, (in fact we're both terrified) and thinks the symptoms must all be in my head, as I have nothing to show! Will have to educate him much better, I think.
Today is much better after a rocky start with train delays. I bought some travel wrist bands on my way to work and it's the best 8 pounds I ever spent!! Can't believe how much better I feel, and I was dreading work this week! Also, for those with nausea and blood sugar issues, I've finally found that oats really helps! Bit gross, and last thing I feel like but can be as bland or as tasty as you like (yoghurt, honey, cinnamon, nutmeg). Last night I absolutely forced some down before bed, having felt like gagging at everything else. I slept like a baby and didn't have to get up for something to eat in the early hours, tho obviously there were the obligatory visits to the loo. Oats also helped this morning I think.
Sorry this turned into a bit of an essay, thought it was time I had my say, and wanted to say hello and congrats to you all - nice to be sharing this journey!
