1,000 posts into the very popular September 2012 thread, here's a new one, for knicker checking, boob prodding, toilet rushing, oh and eating the entire contents of the fridge or McDonalds

Here's to our tiny beans and all the lovely ladies lost along the way.

Full steam ahead to booking in and positive scans aplenty.

Yes to being absolutely freezing, and to put this in perspective, I live in the UAE where it was 23 degrees Celsius today!! Also, my skin which is normally pretty clear has been revolting practically since I conceived. Worrying lack of any other evidence to suggest I'm pg, and even the bloating seems to have subsided somewhat. Still have to wait a week til my first scan due to being at work morning, noon and night until then, but the good news is that the flight home to London is booked for mid March and I have now scheduled my 12 week scan with a consultant for when I'm home. FYI for the lady who was asking about scans, (sorry it's on previus page of this thread and I've no idea how to skip back thru without losing this post so can't include name), I am going to Harley St Centre for Women, but it seems, at 200 quid, to be mega bucks compared to the other prices people have mentioned on here!!

Im 6+4 today. My horrific morning sickness that has had me bed ridden since Friday is suspected hyperemisis. Waiting to been seen by doctor at epu. I feel truely horrific. A million times worse than previous pregnancy with dd. hopefully they send me away with something to ease this feeling as I don't think I handle another day let alone potentially weeks!

Feel like i have been the worst mum in the world to her this week Sad

Thali34 · 30/01/2012 15:02

Hi ladies - I'm new here and thought I should say hello. Have spent ages trying to catch up on all the posts! It seems a very busy thread and so much (good and bad) has happened already. you seem like a lovely group of wise and very caring ladies!

I'm 8+4 and due on 6 Sept. I saw my dr about 3 weeks ago and was amazed to be told I had to choose my hospital ASAP. anyway, I did and have eventually heard from the mw there and have dates for my first 2 appointments (at 10 weeks and 12 weeks).

Am generally ok, though noticeably tired, crampy and constantly nauseous (tho mild and not throwing up), and amazed at how big my belly seems! But it must be holiday weight and/ or bloating at this stage! I can't comfortably wear most of my clothes and am living in 2 or 3 empire line dresses and leggings. I went out and bought a larger denim skirt (size14 - am usually a 10 or 12), which has been a life saver!! My boobs aren't really sore or obviously growing, but enough symptoms are convincingly there!!

I can't seem to find anything I want to eat! Everything ends up being disgusting and I can't face it again! Keep wandering round the supermarket trying to find something I want, but nothing hits the spot. Generally snacking on carbs all day long, but it doesn't really help. yesterday was a terrible day. Felt so sick, and hungry and tired and sorry for myself, and nothing helped! Lay on the sofa crying and reading your posts! It helps being able to share. I have told 3 of my closest friends for that reason, and one colleague at work - it helps having someone to watch my back! DH is pleased but I think a little overwhelmed, (in fact we're both terrified) and thinks the symptoms must all be in my head, as I have nothing to show! Will have to educate him much better, I think.

Today is much better after a rocky start with train delays. I bought some travel wrist bands on my way to work and it's the best 8 pounds I ever spent!! Can't believe how much better I feel, and I was dreading work this week! Also, for those with nausea and blood sugar issues, I've finally found that oats really helps! Bit gross, and last thing I feel like but can be as bland or as tasty as you like (yoghurt, honey, cinnamon, nutmeg). Last night I absolutely forced some down before bed, having felt like gagging at everything else. I slept like a baby and didn't have to get up for something to eat in the early hours, tho obviously there were the obligatory visits to the loo. Oats also helped this morning I think.

Sorry this turned into a bit of an essay, thought it was time I had my say, and wanted to say hello and congrats to you all - nice to be sharing this journey!

sasslejaney84 · 30/01/2012 15:51

Hi thali my OH says the same thing!! And he has 4 so has been through this pregnancy lark a few times now!!

I have a bump that looks like I'm 3 month gone!! Had to put another 2 pairs of jeans away as I can't even get them fastened up :( gonna have to try my best to get through the next few weeks (I'm 9 weeks today) and try get some cheap maternity clothes next week!!

Thali34 · 30/01/2012 16:31

Thanks sassle, at least I'm not alone!

I can't do up any of my jeans. Think I'm pretty pleased that our biggest months will be during summer - hopefully it will be easier to dress! H&m have a maternity section, think most stores do now. I also saw some great ruched tops there the other day. Boden sometimes have really great tops and dresses that are ruched, gathered or drapey just under the bust - great as I never have a flat stomach at the best of times. That style is really working for me at the moment, tho boden is pricey, and I only ever allow myself to shop in the sale!!

One of the friends I have told immediately offered me all her maternity clothes, so that is pretty exciting.

holls2000 · 30/01/2012 16:58

kellzi so so sorry. Take care of yourself. xx

sasslejaney84 · 30/01/2012 17:04

thali I might have to have a look in h&m over the weekend, if I'm out and about in town! See if they have a cheapish pair of jeans that are comfy!! Considering twins run in OH's family I just hope it isn't twins!! (My SIL is preggers with twins at the moment too!) Would be just my luck though!! We were TTC for what felt like an age, plus my OH has agreed that once this one is 15 month old we might consider trying again (depending on finances and health etc) you never know!!

I've had some odd pains today, in my hip area! Only when walking, going to have to be careful me thinks!!

So sorry to hear your news kellzi! Good luck for the future huni xx

lurkingmurking · 30/01/2012 17:08

kellzi I'm so sorry - look after yourself

LittleSpade · 30/01/2012 17:16

Welcome Thali

Kellzi - so sorry to hear you news - take care of yourself and all the best for the future xx

It feels likean age of worry before we reach that 12 week mark!

sasslejaney84 · 30/01/2012 17:34

littlespade it really doees!! Here's hoping all is well!

TinkerMaloo · 30/01/2012 17:47

kellzi so sorry hun :(

WaitingForLittleR my skin is a nightmare! I have rosacea which is normally very well controlled by erythromycin (to the point that i look almost human), but i cant take that now that im preggers so i am covered in huge red sore lumps all over my nise forehead ans chin and my whole face is red. I am used to the rosacea as i suffered with it for years before finally finding that erythromycin works for me. Pregnany as a rule makes rosacea worse anyway so i look a right state. This is definitely my last DC! And my hair is dry and awful too, though really greasy at the roots

And i am a little fatter round the middle but not the point that i cant get my larger clothes on, but i just cant stand any kind of pressure round my tummy! It makes me feel so much more sickly. Roll on summer where floaty dresses save the day!

Blooming? i think not lol

/end rant

MadMonkeys · 30/01/2012 17:51

Hi ladies - not had chance to post for a while as DD keeps me on my toes... So, here is MadMonkeys magic patented ms cure - fizzy water, or burp water as we affectionately call it in our house! I bought gallons of the stuff in Asda this morning after i remembered it from last time. Ahhh, the relief. it only lasts about 5 minutes though, so I've been knocking it back like nobodies business. Fantastis stuff.

So sorry to hear your news kellzi.

sasslejaney84 · 30/01/2012 17:59

madmonkeys might have to try that!!

MadMonkeys · 30/01/2012 18:06

Glug, glug, fizz, burp.

crowette · 30/01/2012 18:37

I've spent the afternoon in bed, trying to snooze. Did doze off a couple of times but woke up with my heart racing! Went to the loo when I got up, thinking my boobs feel lighter, when I wiped there was bright red blood Sad am sitting on the sofa, not daring to move and have heavy pre period feeling in my belly. I've been to the loo once more and was just light spotting, but as I sit here now, it's not feeling good.

OH is home from work, looking after me and trying to put a brave face on things.

I'm 7 weeks, and not even had a chance to see a doctor yet as I had to register at a new surgery. Wondering if I should try calling them in the morning - either way.

Loup23 · 30/01/2012 18:40

So sorry to read your news kelzi sending you lots of tlc.

Eastbeast I had a scan with ultrasound direct in the City, they also have a centre in N, S, W and E London. The scans are £99 a time. I am having another at 10+4 and am looking at one in the West End for the 12 week NT scan as not sure I'll get one through the NHS due to late booking date.... Confused

Yes to awful skin waiting thought it had got better but am now covered in small spots again, face and chest. Another symptom to add to the unattractive ones!

Hope all others are well x

Thali34 · 30/01/2012 18:44

kellzi, so sorry to hear your news, what an awful weekend

crowette fx for you, hope all will be well. From what I understand, some spotting is pretty normal, so hope that is all it is

Whatevertheweather · 30/01/2012 18:45

Hi ladies

Kellzi so sorry Sad Be gentle on yourself in the coming weeks xx

Bleurgh I don't remember feeling this continually nauseous with dd1 or dd2. I feel sick all the time! Can't bear anything around my waist which is making getting dressed interesting. I seem to flip from feeling sick because I'm hungry to eating something small and then feeling full up, bloated and more sick. Anyone else feel like they can't win?!

lurkingmurking · 30/01/2012 18:55

crowette everything crossed for you - definitely call your doctor or do you have an early pregnancy unit at your hospital?

york67 · 30/01/2012 18:58

So sorry kellzi.

york67 · 30/01/2012 19:00

crowette fingers crossed everything is fine. Definately contact doctors. May be able to arrange a scan.

Whatevertheweather · 30/01/2012 19:02

Crowette so sorry. Fx it's a non sinister bleed like some of the other ladies have had on here. Definitely contact the EPU at your local hospital. Call main number and ask to be transferred xx

OutMeAndDie · 30/01/2012 19:17

So sorry kellzi

Fx crowette
