Here's to our tiny beans and all the lovely ladies lost along the way.

re clothes, i was lucky that i mainly work from home, so i pretty much lived in casual stuff. I had a pair of maternity jeans from new look (they were great and had adjustable elastic bits around the waist and were underbump, bootcut and for a 28 inch inside leg, as i discovered that it is impossible to stop overbump ones from falling down or feeling like they are falling down, but annoyingly they are on their last legs, and it would seem they don't sell these ones now), a pair of shorts (knee length) from dorothy perkins with a lovely stretchy waistband which were so comfy and didn't aggravate my spd which the jeans did especially when i drove anywhere (annoyingly they have a hole in now and DP have also stopped selling them), and some charcoal petite length yoga pants from mothercare which were the most comfortable thing i have ever worn! (and they've stopped selling petite ones now!) I also had some combat trousers from DP's and a variety of vest type tops from there, they regularly have discount days online of 25-30% so don't buy things full price unless you have to! Have noticed that the quality and thickness of their tops has reduced noticably from the stuff i bought in 2010. I also got some tops from mothercare, their stuff is dearer but it washes well, and they do nursing tops which as a nervous-to-breastfeed-in-public-sort-of-person, i thought were really good. I struggled with work clothes for when i had to dress properly, got some black trousers in a petite from mothercare, and a cheap very big suit jacket from matalan in the end as i found it impossible to find a maternity suit that suited a 14 bottom, with F cup boobs, only maternity jackets i could find did up at the front with a bow, which made my boobs look comically big. DP did some nice work tops. I found i really had to try things on though, as sizes vary from shop to shop, and the cut of some of the clothes was awful, but it wasn't that one shop would be bigger on all its clothes, i found i varied by as much as 3 clothes sizes in each shop depending on the item!

I bought some sleep bra's from mothercare, very comfy, wrap style, no idea how they compare to the ASDA ones, but bound to be dearer!

I got my maternity bras from mothercare, along with a big lecture about how important it is to not wear underwired. I followed the rules, and had no problems breastfeeding, and i know 2 people who carried on wearing underwired and both had so many problems BF'ing that they had to switch to formula within the first couple of weeks. Might be coincidence but i will stick to non-wired again.

Loopy try eBay to see if anyone is selling off things they've hardly worn- they might just have what you're looking for!
Works a treat with Monsoon.

I'm out of work at the mo, and have mostly worked in education so get to wear my own clothes, but due to gigantic boobs (pre-peanut, yikes) and similar bottom, but with a waist, everything's either stretchy or wraparound, so hoping to not buy any maternity clothes.
If I can lose a bit more weight (don't worry, I'm being sensible) then my skirts will all slide so they're sitting on my hips and under bump, so that will give me a bit more variety. I am buying that nice polka dot tankini in Mothercare, but only because I need a new cossie and my tastes are so specific I can never find anything!

Have decided today I'm not going to worry any more. Realistically, peanut was fine on both scans, the pocket of fluid was only 1.6mm, and I've been blessed with no pregnancy symptoms whatsoever. I'm going to stop being such a whiny shit to DH and just enjoy the next 6 months.
DH is thrilled, naturally. Grin

ballroomblitz · 22/02/2012 21:19

Oh york Firday must seem like ages away for you. It really sounds a tad ridiculous that they are making you wait and worry until then. Fingers crossed you hear something tomorrow.

LittleSpade You don't want to have exciting, vivid dreams. Mine was getting bit by a zombie last night and I was about to die and become one myself. Freaky. Reading World War Z however. I've said it before and I'll say it again I should stop reading weird books before bed. I never learn :)

Wow to all you big-boobed ladies. Very jealous. I was a B cup before having ds and they shrank to an A after breastfeeding. Only up to my pre-ds size again now Envy

Hi ladgagoo and congrats.

Macaroons that's really good news on your scan and NT results. I'm still unsure about whether to get tested or not. I didn't last time and although they don't routinely test until you are over 35, I'll be 33 next month so starting to hit that age.

Thali I'm the same and have no motivation for housework. I just seem to be looking at the house in despair and don't know where to start. I did get into ds's room today and threw out 3 big bin bags though!! After that the two of us went for a snooze for 3 hours. Shattered today.

It's me that is consultant led too twizzlestix. From my booking-in with the midwife, yes, it seems like there will be a lot of appointments and I know I'll have a lot of extra scans later on too.

On another note I had my first bout of morning sickness today at 9+6. I never seem to follow the typical route for anything. Hopefully it's a one-off!

MissCoffeeNWine · 22/02/2012 23:52

I'll be consultant led too but I don't think I'll need extra appointments, but I do have extra scans. I'm free to make my own schedule with MW appointments really, they don't know what to do with me I don't think.

I haven't worn any maternity clothes before in any of my pregnancies and I'm showing no signs of needing any now. I just go with careful dressing in the last three months when there's a bump to accomodate. Few nice dresses, tights, some leggings and long tops, done. I've got all that already. I've also worn my normal bras all the way through, underwires and all, without trouble, and happily BF. So I'm not too worried about clothes.

One thing I do have is a funny swirling sensation right where the baby is when I press on the area a bit. I don't mean sitting around prodding but like when I lay on my front or sit down wearing a waistband across that part. It's like there's a tiny washing machine in there, proper swirling sensation. It's not something I've ever felt before. Anyone else?

Macaroons · 23/02/2012 08:56

Morning all and welcome to new joiners!

Is anyone like me who is so sleep deprived? I always wake up in the middle of the night and can't get back to sleep for a few hours Sad so so so sooooo tired now but I can't take sick day off work just because I couldnt sleep, right... Some nights I only sleep for about 3 hrs Sad maybe it's getting me ready for the midnight feeds that are to come!

Some of my loose fitting dresses and top still fit but I am glad I bought a new pair of jeans from asos and some tights from h&m. It does make a big difference!

Anyone having scan today or tomorrow? Good luck. And fingers crossed for you york

WinkyWinkola · 23/02/2012 09:55

Just had a scan. Sonographer thought all measurements looked ok. Relief. He said measurements made me 13 weeks not 12 hmmm.

Plus he was 75% certain it is a boy. I don't know how accurate these things are at this stage.

Anyone know?

ahhhhhpushit · 23/02/2012 10:05

Wow amazed they could tell the sex! I thought most sonographers don't even try until 16 weeks. He must be a super good one! Yay! Glad it all looked good. Do you not believe him about the 13 weeks? Did you chart your ov?

LittleSpade · 23/02/2012 10:12

Thanks for the clothes advice Loopy I also usually work from home which I do hope is likely to make the maternity wardrobe cheaper and easier.

Rusulka I found the nursing bras from Figleaves awful - they gave me a rubbish shape and cut in below my breasts - the maternity ones from Mothercare have been so much better (and cheaper). Don't know about Bravissimo though.

Glad to hear i have a scan buddy for the 5th March ladygagoo

ahhhhhpushit · 23/02/2012 10:26

Anyone my scan buddy for march 6th?

lurkingmurking · 23/02/2012 11:31

Loving the continuing good scan news! My scan is 9th March - it seems like ages away and I'll be 12+5.

Had a good booking in appointment yesterday and they are happy with everything so that's great.

Re clothes I have to be quite smart for the office but got away with wrap dresses and bought a decent pair of black trousers and some tops from Jojo Maman Bebe which were great. Second the recommendation for mothercare nursing vests I loved them.

I do need to get some more summery stuff as last time I was due in December. I think I have a couple of dresses and some white linen trousers but won't be able to resist a new dress or two especially for work. We're going on hols when I'm 32 weeks so good excuse to hit ebay!

Rusulka · 23/02/2012 11:31

LittleSpade the Mothercare ones in their maximum size don't even fit my pre-pregnancy boobs. Sad

I was a 36HH- these are a little tight now, and am spilling over... SiL is nursing bra trained, works in a department store and says the main thing is that the underwires are still back near my armpits and not any further forward (then gave me a lecture about properly fitting bras) This is still the case with my bras, but they don't fit at the front any more.

Bravissimo do bras for the over-boobed ladies of Britain and elsewhere- but their nursing bras go up to a J or K maximum and I'm pushing that now, never mind in 6 months! (got to be a JJ already, at LEAST).
I'm despairing really!

Think I'll have to stick with my usual favourites in a couple of sizes up, if available, and then who knows where I go from there!

Must find a gigantic boobs thread...

Winky they thought I was 13 weeks too, which is utter tosh, unless I ovulated twice and one of those was 2 days after AF finished (balls). As someone else said, further up the thread, the peanuts might just be having a growth spurt right now, and they'll level out later. The figures they work to are averages, after all. And we're not average, are we? I'm certainly not!

I'm still thrilled that although the baby wasn't moving much, even the sonographer getting me to shift over and over again didn't get them to move. Ha. Peanut is stubborn like me! Dad is delighted- he thinks 'he' has inherited some of his grandad's personality Grin

Littlecherublegs · 23/02/2012 11:32

Hi everyone again!!

Wow, congrats on all the fabtastic scan news!!

Sassle I have mine on 28th Feb too - eek!! Smile It was originally 7th March but they have brough it forward a week. I will be 11+2 (I think) so not quite at the 12 weeks mark but it seems that if they cant see what they want to, I can always go back for another one. So excited - cant wait to see my little bundle!! Smile

Funny re all the talk about dentists too - I've had to book an emergency appointment in for today as have had horrid toothache for over a week now! Not sure why but its all started since I started using an electric toothbrush?! Coincidence maybe??!! Hopefully will find out this afternoon... Still painful though not stopping me eating!! Smile

lurkingmurking · 23/02/2012 11:35

Rusulka have a look at Hot Milk maternity bras they are brilliant and so pretty. A great site is www.nursingbra-shop.co.uk/ - they have a great range and free returns. Last time I ordered 2 bras and 2 knickers and they sent me 3 bras and 2 knickers - I told them and they let me keep the extra one!

lurkingmurking · 23/02/2012 11:36

Sorry me again - this is the one I have www.nursingbra-shop.co.uk/ShowDetails.asp?id=124

TinkerMaloo · 23/02/2012 11:48

Great news on all the scans ladies! :)

Cant wait for mine on march 2nd, so i can post that im not the twin carrier on the thread ;)

Im avoiding the non underwired maternity bras as yet, my boobs have not changed shape even a tiny bit, in fact i think they have got smaller if anything, as i was still BF my baby girl at night until 2 months ago, so the bras i have are all rather spacious and the wires dont cut in at all... Im a bit worried about it messing with supply, but i think its a bit early for that to happen yet, and i hate non wired bras a lot.

Rusulka · 23/02/2012 12:11

Thanks Lurking have bookmarked the site and will have a proper browse later... again, they only go up to a K, and I suspect I'm at least a J already... might have to resort to carrier bags! Lol.

sasslejaney84 · 23/02/2012 13:01

littlecherublegs mine is at 10 so here's hoping everything is ok for both of us, just 4 more days to go!! I'm nervous now but everyone says I'll be ok!

I'm wondering if I should get a maternity bra too, most of mine are now too tight and I'm spilling out!! Going to go get measured next time I'm in town, I'm not going to be happy if I've gone up again!!

My DSister in law is bringing some more goodies over this weekend!! Wonder what she will bring?!?! I think there is a bundle of blankets and another few bits and bats!

Done the shopping today and now I'm shattered! Might have to have a catnap!!

Loup23 · 23/02/2012 13:13

Morning all, long may the good scan news continue.

Re bras, I have been wearing a sports one in my usual size since week 4 or 5 and it has been great although hate not wearing underwire too. Might have to splash out on a few more bras in the next few weeks - saw some nice nursing ones in M&S, can I wear those yet?!

Having had lovely scan news on Monday am now worried that it is 8 weeks until the next scan Shock, that will feel like eternity, wondering whether to book another sneaky private one at 15-16 weeks..... Blush anyone else?

MadMonkeys · 23/02/2012 13:33

Hi everyone. What a glorious day - sunny and very warm here in the Midlands.

Macaroons - I sympathise with the sleep deprivation. I've been having rubbish nights for about a month. The cough hasn't helped but most of the time I've been lying awake for no obvious reason until 3am of something ridiculous like that. The pesky hormones! For the last three days my nausea and sleeplessness have been reducing, which I hope is just to do with the placenta taking over the hormone production for the bean. I wish I could have my scan sooner though. Lurking I'm your scan buddy, also on the 9th March and I'll be 12+4. It's only 2 weeks away now...but doesn't the time drag?

Well, I'm feeling very deficient in the chest department after reading everyone's posts - I'm only a meagre D cup. I got some bras from Mothercare - they were great at fitting them and recommended ones I could wear now but will do a bit later on when my boobage increases.

nikosmum2010 · 23/02/2012 13:41

Hi Ladies

Can I join. I'm 10+1 EDD 19 Sept. Have my scan 16 March when I'll be 13+2, seems too long away

nikosmum2010 · 23/02/2012 13:44

MadMonkeys, I've also not been sleeping well at night this week. One night I woke up and decided to watch a movie at 2am and didn't get to sleep till 4am. Last night I was awake for an hour at about the same time.

sasslejaney84 · 23/02/2012 13:52

nicosmum welcome and congratulations!! I'm the same with the sleeping, I've gotta start trying my best to get some sleep but these bloody hormones keep me from doing that!!

york67 · 23/02/2012 14:00

Hi ladies. Just back from EPU and it's good news. 1 bean in the right place with a heartbeat. Measuring a tiny bit small but they are not concerned. Back in 3 weeks for my 12 week scan.
I too am starting to panic about maternity clothes. Both my dc were born in spring so I pretty much lived in maternity jeans. However, I think they are now a little small as I am heavier now.
I think I have one top left but thats it. Being a size 20 and short makes it even harder finding stuff. New Look had some good stuff but they only appear to go up to an 18.
Welcome newbies.
Funny being told at 9 weeks that I will be having a csection. Still I knew it really after 2 previous sections.
I am shattered. I am hoping I will sleep better tonight.

Thali34 · 23/02/2012 14:18

ballroom and littlecherublegs, good luck with the toothache and hope you can get it sorted ASAP. I'd be interested to know what yr dentists do... Mine gave me an X-ray and assured me it was fine, and that a flight to Spain would give the same amount of radiation (and my recent flight from SA would have been way more radiation). I was a bit unhappy but allowed it. I'd already asked GP and she told me to trust the dentist! Mixed info online, but generally thought to be ok...

tinkermaloo my boobs don't seem to have grown a bit... I've been expecting to have to go bra shopping any week, but all seems pretty normal so far... Actually, scratch that, one does seem larger than the other....!!?? I also only like underwired bras, but I think I'll heed general advice and give them up for now...

Thali34 · 23/02/2012 14:20

york that's great news!!!!
