congratsceej andstarlight yay boys were taking over a bit lol ,off air for fewdays moving tomorrow (gulp)

Kayzr · 28/01/2012 17:12

I have been a bit naughty today. I went shopping and I got some baby girl clothes. I decided that 80% is quite high and if the scan on the 6th says boy then I can take the clothes back to swap them.

SpecialJK · 28/01/2012 17:13

congrats to all who found out their 'flavour' - will be great to see the split of boys/girls. Although we're not finding out, I am 80% sure it's a boy for some reason.

violet my DH would be very jealous, he's dying to feel a kick! Mine aren't really strong enough yet, in fact I'm not sure its movement, I just get a strange feeling sometimes down low. It feels slightly uncomfortable!

Kveta I really like Emilie. One of my suggestions for a girl, but my DH isn't so sure either.

Managed to find a dress in John Lewis today with enough room - phew! I feel a bit frumpy though, but its difficult as a lot of the shops don't really have their full ranges in yet. We're going to Portmeirion for it next weekend. glad I'm not driving Smile

and my exciting travel news! Booked a babymoon to New York in Feb! So looking forward to it, I'm planning my capsule wardrobe. We have dinner at a posh restaurant already booked, so going to wear that dress I've just bought too Grin

Bought a dream genii too today. DH is eyeing it up though, wouldn't be surprised if he stole it!

Hope you all have fab weekends

ps - I use taste the difference prunes out of a pack. I couldn't stomach the juice for some reason.

MammaInTheMaking · 28/01/2012 17:33

No probs Mini.

Sorry to hear about those suffering with poo probs. I've been quite lucky I think...am really keeping up my fruit diet. I love dried fruit so have enjoyed dried apricots/prunes/figs. DP can't stand them. Gives me wind something terrible though!! Blush

Today I've come to my parents and me and mum have made the nursery curtains. I got fabric from Ikea which has foxes, rabbits, deer and squirrels running about on it. Very bold and abstract but I love it Smile

There's a sale on at mamas and papas which ends tomorrow, gona get on the lappy now and order some stuff Grin

Kayzr · 28/01/2012 17:36

Special Is that the Portmerion in Wales? We went there for a day last year while we were on holiday. It was lovely.

Kveta I really like Emilie too. Its very pretty.

Ceej and Rhi congrats on your girls and congrats on your boy Starlight

Dh and I decided to have a 4D scan done in April as a wedding present to ourselves.

Hope everyone is ok

Florin · 28/01/2012 20:51

Hello all just had a quick catch up of the thread. Had a worrying day yesterday as baby didn't move. I think it was the no sleep while travelling confusing the baby's routine plus the movement of the boat lulling it to sleep. Now sitting in a Caribbean bar as its happy hour (ginger beer for me, cocktails for dh) and baby has definitely woken up! Feel so much happier. It's so lovely being in the warm and enjoying some couple time before baby arrives.

ecstatica · 29/01/2012 09:18

Morning ladies

Florin -- it sounds like you're having a wonderful time. Enjoy yourselves :)

Baby/nursery preparations all sounding wonderful I very much enjoyed nesting and getting everything ready for DS1 he was the lucky one! :)

Is anyone else waking too many times throughout the night to visit the loo? Once or twice is something but I seem to be waking a minimum of 4 times Angry and then it's so hard to get back to sleep. The SPD (wish i could get the new name right) has really kicked in now and I'm feeling quite down at sheer lack of motivation, aspiration or otherwise right now. I think the weather must affect me as well, Florin send us some sun!

Tomorrow is almost here, hurray scan day.
Bit nervous. Bit excited.
I can almost see the sonographer say 'it's a boy'. If it is a boy, I will have to buy myself a bunch of pink stuff!

Have a pleasant Sunday x

CathFin · 29/01/2012 09:43

I'm fairly convinced I'm having a girl, its much more like my first pregnancy this time again. I don't think we will find out either way as we have all the kit whichever flavour we get this time!

Still very jealous of you Florin!

Ecstatica I'm waking up with my cough - so annoying as DS is currently sleeping quite well and I would love a good nights sleep!!! Good luck for your scan.

Warlin · 29/01/2012 17:43

My goodness, 2 days away and so much to catch up on!!

congrats on your girls ceejand rhi and your boy starlight*
So exciting, we have got 5 boys, 4 girls, almost equal!!

florin it has rained here non stop all day so I am very very Envy of your holiday.

ecstatica I'm on the scan bus tmw too and very excited but nervous Hmm

Not feeling well at all here. Was out for dinner last night with my brother which was lovely and everyone thought my bump was huge for 20 weeks! I feel really uncomfortable and didn't sleep a wink last night...just couldn't get comfortable. My dream geni has still not dispatched from amazon :(

So have been so tired and headachy today that I have slept most of the day...and to add to frustration have had very little movement. So I'm anxious about what tmw will bring. Has anyone had bloods done again for anemia? Mine were fine at the start but I'm wondering if I'm a bit anemic now as have been wrecked for a week now.

Roll on the "glowing"

special the babymoon sounds great. We are hoping to book a break soon too...need something to keep me going.

Hi to everyone else.....looking forward to call the midwife tonight. DH spotted that Top Gear was on at the same time but told him Tom wanted to watch CTMW so think I won! Grin

KatyJ26 · 29/01/2012 19:48

Been away fir the weekend and there is loads to catch up on! Congratulations to all those who have found out what they're having and good luck to those with scans tomorrow. Will try and catch up properly soon Smile

thedogwalker · 29/01/2012 21:09

Ecstatica good luck for your scan tomorrow and the LO is in the right position to see the flavour. Good luck to you too Warlin* do you want to know the flavour? I was so ill again yesterday. Just when I thought it couldn't get any worse, sinusitis and ear infection still bad, I started throwing up. Wàs bad all day, thank God I feel better today, I don't think I could have mentally survived another day. Hope I feel fully better soon. Hope everyone has had a good weekend xx

rrrayray · 30/01/2012 08:37

Morning all.

Estatica and warlin - good luck for today.

Dog walker - sorry you've been feeling so rotten. Hope you feel more like yourself today.

Dalrymps · 30/01/2012 08:44

Morning ladiesSmile

Ecstatica and Warlin hope your scans are greatSmile

What an effort it was to drag myself out of bed today.. The weekend went far too quickly!

itchyfootedlady · 30/01/2012 09:30

wow... too much to catch up on! I'm backt o joining the constipation party. Dalrymps it could be that which is making you so sleepy. When i finally cleared my two week backlog I felt like a new person! I'm back on the lactulose, it doubles as a pretty good cough syrup too :)

Very excited by all the baby news... ceej congrats on thh girl and get measuring! I have grown an inch over the weekend... possibly just contispation? Can assess after next loo visit. vert satisfying :)

Weekend in Wales was lovely. Bit odd too though as we went with a couple I have known for years, old uni friends, and they are definitely not at the same stage in life as we are now. Arrived on friday and they were cracking open the wine at midnight... after a full weeks work and a 5 hour drive i was really not in the mood for an all night catch up! Managed an hour and encouraged everyone to have a hot ribena and save energy for the next day. Saturday we went on a 5 hour walk... again, normally I would be fine but the last hour my bump and hips were killing me and I really couldn't keep up. Got back and cried all over poor DH that i was a boring pregnant lady and nobody would ever want to play with us because all I felt like doing was napping! Again, in teh pub that night everyone else was 3 pints in and I was asleep at the table and had to drag them all back to drink at home so I could sleep. DH understands but I really don't think that people who haven't been pregnant could possibly understand the tiredness and weirdness of it. Felt a bit odd after that as I have now moved into a whole new part of life and might not be able to do all the things we did before. sorry for the moan, just can't really explain it anyone else!

ARghhh, work meeting to go to now so must go. Really enjoyed all the posts and will reply more later!

Kveta · 30/01/2012 09:39

good luck with scans today!

rrray - I'm afraid I'm more with your DH on names - but I like more popular names anyway! With Esme (which is gorgeous btw), I would think something like Harrison, Henry, James, Lucas or Oskar for some reason. DH and I are continuing to quietly disagree on names, so baby is just being called baby girl most of the time! I'm worried that I'll let her name slip anyway, as we want to keep it quiet until she emerges!

TDW hope you feel better soon - sounds like you've had flu almost, what a grim week :( how long until your DH is home for his break? bet you are counting the seconds by now!

Nothing exciting to report from here, just another weekend - took DS out to the forest yesterday and he got so cold his lips went blue however, once warmed up he had a 3.5 hour nap, then slept 11 hours through the night, so I am joining the national trust this week so we can go to the forest EVERY weekend and maybe improve his sleep!! :o Oh, and I keep getting outbid on ebay, trying to get a phil and teds double buggy, grr. oh well, 18 weeks to go, it's not too late!

Hope you all have a good monday!

CathFin · 30/01/2012 09:40

Eek itchy - shame they didn't encourage you to take it a bit easier - 5 hours of walking is a LOT!

I didn't leave the house yesterday and I feel a lot better for it, my cough is a bit better and my pelvic floor isn't scaring me so much!

Miniangel · 30/01/2012 09:59

Hi Everyone

Hope you all had a good weekend.
Best of luck for the scan today Ecstatica and Warlin. I am curious to know the flavours.

itchy 5 hours of walking- wow! you are a superwoman. I was beat after a couple of hours shopping. Has the pain in your back gone now?

TDW Hope you feel better soon. Your DH would be with you next month and the time till will fly.

The weekend was good for me as we went to Reading to meet up with friends. DH got a bit drunk so I drove all the 42 miles back. With the baby inside, driving is a bit never wrecking and I am doubly cautious. Does anyone else find that?

We found a cleaner who has come today so I am so relieved that I am not having to break my back.

I am tjinking of booking a baby tour in john lewis- anyone else going for that?

ffnorm · 30/01/2012 10:01

Hi all from sunny Cape Town - been off line my entire holiday as my mother is completely computer illiterate...am in an internet cafe at the mo as I had an urgent email to send.

Realised I have been missing out on all the 20 week scan news,so will have to sit and catch up when I am back in the UK.

Hope everyone is well!!!

millyv · 30/01/2012 10:45

Morning all!

No real news here, went shopping on Saturday and after 4 hours and 2 drink/cake breaks I left feeling slightly better about acking for Dubai.

Itchy I was absolutely shattered after it though and spent the evening lying on the sofa - no idea how you managed a 5 hour hike! You will get it back though, I think the babies are growing quite a bit at the moment and obviously it's more to carry around with us so making us more tired at the moment? Thats what I tell myself anyway!

Good luck with all of the scans today - I am so jealous - can't wait until next Monday when we get to see our little one again - seems like ages since the 12 week scan!

Enjoy your holidays everyone that is on them, it's freezing here in Wales today, but not got any snow where i am.

Hope everyone has a nice day!

Xx

ellybett · 30/01/2012 10:58

Morning all.

Firstly massive apologies as I am incapable of doing a fireflies Wink and do a masseeve post in response to individuals. On my phone again so can't scroll up and down and literally as soon as I read a post I can't remember who wrote it because of my porridgey pregnant brain! So bear with me as will undoubtedly make some random comments now!

tdw poor you, horrible time. Hope your on the mend. I had sinusitis over new years and went deaf with it. Hope you can smell the olbas oil soon.

dalrymps and itchy (?) I think I might be joining the 'wherefore art thou poo club', I blame the domino's on Saturday. Nice while it lasts but you pay the price.

ecstatica and warlin have great scans. Its nice how the girls and boys are balancing out more. Mine is next Monday and time is draaaagging!

Welcome recent additions, sorry for being crap and not remembering names.

My SPD is still a nuisance and hugely affecting my sleep, can't wait to get the dream genii.

Have a good day everyone, didn't do too badly did I?!

Kveta · 30/01/2012 11:24

jeez, just won an ebay auction for a double phil and teds, woo - but I have been having braxton hicks since!! had no idea it could be so nerve-wracking!! Confused I have just about stopped shaking too. I'm obviously not cut out for auctions, far too exciting! :o it went right to the last second for me to win it, and I spent £20 more than my maximum bidget too. But worth it!

right, actual work WITHOUT internet distractions now!!

then home to clean my single britax and sell the poor thing I bloody love that pushchair, will be gutted to say goodbye to it :(

Warlin · 30/01/2012 11:37

Morning all

All good with scan -breaths huge sigh of relief. Little Thomas is very chilled and comfortable apparently...he kept turning his head away when they were trying to see his face..was very cute! Typical boy, wasn't going to do what he is told :)

My due date has moved to the 14th June now (earlier by one day). DH pleased as he's keen to go watch the Irish open at the start of July...mmmm will see about that Grin

Relieved all is well as been feeling so rotten and lack of movement...he's lying very low which is why I have constant pressure on my bladder.

To all those with constipation.....Mark & Spencer sugar free drops (orange or caramel)....eat the whole packet and I promise you will be constipated now more :)

Have a good day everyone..

itchyfootedlady · 30/01/2012 13:41

TMI alert... just went to loo and did biggest fart of my entire life, remeasured bump after out of scientific interest and had lost 1 inch! ... just thought for those of you also feeling suddenly massive it might be interesting to know that it could all just be extra gas!

on other news Warlin so glad the scan went well and little thomas sounds very cute!

Kveta the adrenalin rush on ebay at the end is ridiculous isn't it! congarulations on winning.

ff and florin enjoy the sun! very jealous of all you guys off on holidays... I'm waiting for spring to arrive...

milly i feel a bit better hering everyone say it was far. felty a bit pathetic at the time as everyone else was fine after and I was completely shagged!

rrrayray · 30/01/2012 13:43

kveta I like both Lucas and Harrison but unfortunately close friends have already nabbed them. Back to the drawing board as although I like Madison from posting on the baby names board majority said its a girls name now (annoys me as originally a boys name) and the other half just said it was hideous (why on mumsnet can't people just say I don't like it rather than starting a tirade of insults at the poor name/me)

Come on ladies, scan news please!!!! Wink

Kveta · 30/01/2012 13:56

rray try magic baby names - I just tried it for Emilie, and it actually brought up her middle name and some suggestions that had been on our short list!

for Harrison it suggests Lachlan, Jackson, Spencer, Marshall, and others which are more mainstream :)

I don't like the name Madison, I must say - it's up there with Mason and Paige for me as totally American names! (I knew so many of them in the states and they were ALL blond, blue eyed, and wealthy - a bit midwich cuckoos actually Confused). It is totally a girls name to me too!

glad thomas is still good Warlin! hope he stays chilled when he's born! :o
