Morning girls,
1000FF -- Enjoy your swim, good idea for a nice Sunday morning.
Kveta -- LOL at DS on sugar high, bet he enjoyed himself!
Great that some of us are very much nearing those 24 weeks, it's been a milestone in my mind for some time.
Cathfin - Yup, you're right. Will be another couple of weeks though till I can take any of them outdoors.
I just have a severe case of cabin fever so am taking myself off out to shop and have coffee while DH takes over.
MammaITM - I hope you're feeling a little better today. Not nice having to feel like that, hopefully you can have a bit of a duvet morning/day and recover.

Sun is shining here too but a bit chilli. Am looking fwd to a few hours out but will likely come home shattered. I drank a lot of soya milk last night to combat the heartburn and even that came back up. Another item on the list of things that must never be regurgitated :) Yuks.

See you all later girls. :)

MammaInTheMaking · 19/02/2012 11:17

Thanks loads for your check ups. Vomiting has stopped but now got problems at the other end Sad Am just sipping on coke atm. This is so disgusting!

Shelduck · 19/02/2012 12:12

ecstatica - hope the pelvis is holding out post-physio!

Warlin - sorry about the house. You must find it really hard to make plans when things are so unsettled.

Tea - yeah, I'm battling with trying to "act like I'm pregnant". I have a tendency to be a bit of a wimp, so have been making a concerted effort not to...and going too far the other way. I'm getting used to hearing DH's "No!" every time I reach for something heavy.

Chateau - pleased you mentioned the bloaty tightness, because that's exactly what I've been feeling this week. As you say, not cramps or pain - just feels like there's a lot going on inside me at the moment. ("Well...yeah!" to quote Seriously's DH.) We're having a massive house declutter this weekend, and it feels brilliant to be able to make a bit of space - I just wish I could do the same for my insides. There's too much stuff in here! Surely I don't really need a spleen...maybe I could get rid of that for a bit?

And yes...definitely plenty of naps as and when necessary.

ChateauMargot · 19/02/2012 12:33

Shelduck, nice to know I'm not the only one!

CathFin, I know what you mean about meeting pregnant ladies in real life! Last week's class was definitely good in that sense... Tho I did wonder how many of them are also MNers!

bemybebe · 19/02/2012 21:07

Just in case anyone is interested to have a 4£ off coupon for Nature Babycare nappies - you can check out this link.

They are stocked in Boots and I am going to claim one tomorrow when on my weekly shopping...

bemybebe · 19/02/2012 21:10

Oh, and if you want one MAKE SURE YOUR COMPUTER IS CONNECTED TO THE PRINTER before filling out the form...

TeaandHobnobs · 19/02/2012 22:24

Oh bemybebe it is so annoying when that happens! You can download something called CutePDF for free where instead of printing to a printer, you can print to a PDF file - I find that really useful for being able to save order confirmations and stuff to print later.

Hope you are feeling a bit better mamma? Thanks

Shelduck DH seems to be making up for a lifetime of not doing a lot for me Hmm (ok that's a bit harsh) and is waiting on me hand and foot! Sweet but it does make me feel pathetic! And I too am a self-confessed wimp so feel the need to try and prove I am not! I have had the most relaxed weekend in ages though, for which I am very grateful.

Hope you sleep a bit better tonight fireflies

ecstatica personally I think soya milk is bad enough going the right way! Wink hope the heartburn isn't giving you too much bother this eve

Night all, hope you all have good weeks ahead!

bemybebe · 19/02/2012 23:53

oh, thank you tea I was able to print in the past to Adobe (my laptop is networked to computer and this link is notoriously unstable) but somehow it is not possible any longer and i did not work out what to do about it...

CathFin · 20/02/2012 06:57

10000 Always up early here - DS is waking before 6am at the moment, he will snuggle in bed with me for about half and hour but its still too early for me!!

I went shopping yesterday but it made me a bit glum as I'm still producing saliva like its going to drown me - the only solution for me is sucking extra strong mints but doing that for an entire shopping trip isn't much fun. For some reason chewing gum has stopped working - I just seem to make as much saliva and don't want to swallow it.
Eating also masks it - not sure how my long drive will go this Friday, and I'm not really looking forward to staying with my parents as spitting in front of people is too grim.
Sorry for the moan! Probably just needed to get it off my chest!

MammaInTheMaking · 20/02/2012 09:33

Cath did you go to your GP about the saliva problem? It really does sound so rubbish. Have they suggested you try something else?

After the d&v came the fever yesterday. Every single joint ached, couldn't sleep coz it all hurt so much. Finally kept paracetemol down which helped. All symptoms gone now this morning but have taken a sick day to recover as feeling very weak. Also don't want to spread it in the office. It really is the most violent, hideous virus. But baby is kicking good and strong so I know it's ok. That's all I cared about!

Nappy Lady has an offer running on her Facebook page so if any of you were thinking about the reusable route, now might be a time to pick up a bargain Grin

Going to grab a few more zzzzzz now Smile x

HowCanADoorBeAJar · 20/02/2012 09:48

Hello. I'm a newbie poking her head around the corner. I was looking for the June thread the other day but couldn't find it.

I'm expecting my first baby on 30th June. We know it's a girl and are over the moon. I'm starting to get very nervous now. I made a list of things the baby will need and it keeps growing. I have no idea where to start!

SpecialJK · 20/02/2012 09:54

Sounds like we're all in the wars a bit cathfun mamma and any others hope you get better soon

I've had a rough weekend myself, Sunday I think I had BH all day near enough, was stressed me out is that on the saturday night I also had back pain, and yesterday, LO didn't really move all afternoon, he was more active in the evening and I think I've felt a couple of movements today. I convinced myself last night I was going into preterm labour. Fingers crossed everything seems to have settled down again today. I'm stressed because I'm about to get this flight to New York tomorrow, which I'm soooo looking forward to, but I don't want anything to happen when we're so far away.

To top if off, woken during the night with developing mouth ulcer, not cleaning my wisdoms right at the back. Gone to get some gengigel today which I've read is ok to use. Gel and mouthwash, and going to try and stave off anything worse with some salt water compresses too. Again, hate being away from home and being ill!

Still least the sun has come out, it was bloody freezing this morning! Smile

(moan over)

CathFin · 20/02/2012 11:34

mamma - yes, the gp suggested gaviscon but it doesn't make any difference at all.

Special - take care of yourself - must be said I worry every time my baby goes quiet in there too, also had crampy period type pain walking yesterday which spooked me.

Welcome Howcan!

Warlin · 20/02/2012 11:43

Morning all!

I'm back from the land of the ill thank goodness. Slept most of Friday and thankfully cold, chest and headache all much better now. Even ventured out for dinner on Sat night and went to a pub afterwards with DH...got a few strange looks that I wasn't expecting....I wanted a sign on my diet coke in case anyone thought I was downing the vodka! Also, a woman gave me her seat...:) First time anyone has acknowledged so I'm guessing I must be pretty obvious now Grin Home by 10pm....mmmm how things have changed!

I had had a really queasy stomach this morning and weird stomach cramps. Not really severe but came into work and somebody told me my bump has dropped! Been panicking but feeling ok now so hoping it was just stretching Confused

Sorry to hear so many others aren't well and hope you all get better soon. Who said the 2nd trimester was the easy bit...I've felt rough the whole time!

Welcome howcan don't be panicking, we still have a bit to go yet. Congrats on your little girl.

We had more viewers at the weekend so really hoping we get the house sorted this week.....so frustrating.

Anyway have a good day everyone...TDW hope you're enjoying having DH home!

ChateauMargot · 20/02/2012 13:14

Warlin, another one here with a queasy stomach this morning - no cramps, though (although I did last night for a bit). Feeling very tired and a bit gloomy in a "please give me an excuse to cry so I can just get it out and over with" kind of way. Haven't felt entirely right for a few days now, although I'm still getting kicks so trying not to worry too much...

Warlin · 20/02/2012 13:21

Thanks chateau glad I'm not the only one. Feel a bit better now but was horrible earlier. I'm quite uncomfortable too after sitting down for long periods...feel like all my organs are squashed. Hopefully it's just all part of the process.

ecstatica I came across Greengoose on one of the other threads. Didn't want to say anything and didn't chat to her as I wasn't sure what to say. She has been having some complications and is getting cloely monitored by drs so she is getting support from the thread for difficult pregnancies. I got a shock as had been thinking about her and then her name popped up....I'm keeping everything crossed for her that it works out ok.

Florin · 20/02/2012 14:17

Sorry to hear so many people are feeling poorly. The weather is due to warm up this week so hopefully that will perk everyone up. It's definitely getting lighter inI the mornings, we are going to buy some blackout blinds this week for our bedroom so hopefully the light won't wake baby once he is born!
warlin thank your for the update about greengoose, I had been worrying about her too
I had a rubbish first half of the weekend, went to a wedding but it was really awkward as my twin isn't talking to me as she feels she has a right to know every detail of our fertility problems. Dh and I are private people and prefer to keep it that way. Anyway because of that she apparently is being pushed out of the family (my parents do know as they paid for some of treatment) anyway it was all very awkward at the wedding esepecially as we're sitting on the same table. On the way home on Sunday we had a lovely day out in Salcombe with a walk a long the beach, shopping and a wonderful lunch so that perked us up.
Realised I need to tell work soon when I am going on maternity leave soon. Has anybody else given in an official date yet? I just can't decide going to sit down with dh this week and try and make a decision.

Kveta · 20/02/2012 14:23

I'm planning to go on mat leave at 39+1, as baby is due on a bank holiday tuesday! so the previous wednesday will be my last day. Will see how it goes, last time I planned to go on mat leave at 39+5, and ended up taking 2 weeks holiday before that date, so may do the same this time.

I took friday off work last week and just slept, which was awesome, but then haven't slept since, so feel rough again. stupid insomnia Angry still, it's DH's birthday today, so need to stay awake and make him a nice meal, rather than my usual monday grump!

hope everyone is ok, and gets better soon. no sign of chicken pox on DS yet (and hoping it stays that way - he's been on the 2 week wait post-exposure so many times in the past 6 months, it's getting silly!)

OP posts:
MammaInTheMaking · 20/02/2012 15:02

I'm doing the same as you Kveta. Last day in the office will be 39+1 but will start mat leave at 39+6 as it's the double bank holiday that week. Am planning on tagging all my a/l onto the end of mat leave.

Feeling like a new person right now. Having to take regular rests as still weak but a million times better than yesterday. Smile

Are you going to go back to your GP Cath? Really feel for you...

Warlin · 20/02/2012 15:23

Florin that sounds awkward. What does it matter what fertility problems you had now that you are pg? maybe she is a bit jealous?

everyone is working really close to their due dates??! As a first timer i'm not sure what to expect but if the way I feel now is anything to go by, I'll be struglling to get out of bed by that stage!! I'm hoping to officially start my mat leave at 38+6 but with the bank holiday and the Queen's jubilee at the start of June (and 3 days a/l) my last day in the office will be 38 weeks.

I might finish earlier though depending on how I feel. Seems such a long time away :(

surfmama · 20/02/2012 15:59

ooo i have found you. hello. first baby due 17th June. very excited taken 4 years to get here for some weird reason, then just as we had scans and procedures booked, hey presto! can i come in?

phoebe1mm · 20/02/2012 16:26

Hello
Any chance I can belatedly join the party?
I'm due with my second little one on 17th June (I think, currently on an posting in Germany and don't get my 'official' due date til my next scan in April). My son is two, born in August '09.
From the looks of things it's probably a girl this time, she was sitting Buddha style so sonographer couldn't say 100%!
Congrats to you all

Kveta · 20/02/2012 18:29

Join us new folk, the more the merrier! Phoebe, my ds is a september 09 baby, and currently hard work! Surfmama, yay for not having to do the procedures etc now!

OP posts:
ecstatica · 20/02/2012 18:34

Warlin - Thank you for that. I went to an old post and sent her a private message just to let her know I was hoping they are all well. May seem strange when you haven't actually met someone in RL but still, we all shared so much on an almost daily basis in those early days. I do hope all is well with her and the family.

Sorry that some of you haven't been too well, all my sympathies Thanks
I took my maternity leave (with DS1) at 20 weeks I think, so am in awe at you ladies working right till the end, well done I say! I couldn't even dream of going to work now let alone end term.

Welcome to Newbies! And congratulations :)

I fell asleep with a chewing gum in my mouth earlier Blush am at times like an old lady sat upright falling asleep Hmm The surgery have called saying GP wants to see me tomorrow (first time ever) so am hoping it's just routine and nothing wrong Confused

Right, will be off to do night routine. Hope everyone is well or feeling a bit better at least x

bemybebe · 20/02/2012 18:51

Well, my voucher for 4£ off was not accepted in Boots today. That is a shame! Sad
