thanks everyone
:) I am feeling very aged this morning, as DS was up from 2.30am wriggling around our bed and talking in his sleep about granny pig
need to cut down on the Peppa Pig viewing I think. DH and DS got me a lovely new laptop, so hopefully that will be up and running by the weekend and I can spend even more time on mumsnet :o
re: slings - we have a bondolino one (with an extension because I'm such a fatso), and it's great. if anyone is Cambridge based and wants the name of a sling expert, PM me, as I work with one - she is sling mad! She recommended the Bondolino, as it's quite masculine too, so men don't mind using it, and if you get the extension, it will fit tall and fat people.
we have the Lindam door bouncer too, DS loved it! need to make sure we still have it actually, as I have lent it out a couple of times.
We have got a second hand baby swing too (well, think it's 4th or 5th hand actually!), which I have lent to my friend, and she thinks it is brilliant, as her DS is a bit of a velcro baby. She's getting 30 minute naps out of him now, so is delighted :o
DH and I did NCT classes and they were great - our teacher was very sensible, no 'natural birth or you're a FAILURE' bullshit, like some local ones apparently preach (again, there is one in Cambridge who is batshit insane very very pro-natural birth to the detriment of useful information, so beware! could get her name for you if any Cambs folk need it!). I am seeing some of my NCT friends this weekend, and we still meet up fairly often. DH found the actual classes more useful than I did, as he didn't read anything when I was pg. I was advised, by my midwife, not to bother with the NHS classes, as September is the busiest month for them, apparently, and they were massively oversubscribed! I would assume that June is less hectic though!
right, best try and work then convince my colleagues to come and eat chocolate cake with me. You'd be surprised at how difficult that will be... I miss working with women!
have a lovely valentines day everyone!
