Lovely news about all the scans, its lovely to hear it all.

All was fine at my MW appointment. I got to listen to heartbeat which was lovely.

My In Laws to be have offered to help pay for the pram which is really nice.

Hope everyone is ok.

Dalrymps · 09/02/2012 18:09

Evening ladiesSmile

Great news all those of you who have had scans today. Wonder who will win by the time we have all had our babies? Boys or girls?

OBEM was very emotional wasn't it. Somehow I fought back the tears. Those few minutes when the baby was stuck seemed like an eternitySad Just so glad the baby was ok.

Sorry to all those feeling rough/suffering with SPD etc. I wish we could all fast forward to our due dates!

Well, I haven't had a creme egg yet today but that's because I'm saving it for this evening when the rascals can't steal any! . I may also be popping to coop as Haagen Dazs is half price at the moment mmmmGrin

thedogwalker · 09/02/2012 19:42

Amethyst Congratulations on your girl. Glad your scan went well Cathfin. Warlin hope you feel better soon, I'm in the same boat and I just cannot shake of the this bug. I'm findign it draining trying to get better and looking after DS, can;t wait for DH to come home and give me a rest.
My bump is soild tonight and feeling really uncomfortable, I don't remember this the first time round, probably happened, just forgot. Hope it subsides soon.
Hope everyone is well, take care xx

bemybebe · 09/02/2012 20:36

dog I had some really worrying time tonight iwth bh. So much so that I called twice the MW and then my consultant who after long questioning reassured me that these are just bh.

interestingly he told me that they can get a lot more uncomfortable in second and subsequent pg...

thedogwalker · 09/02/2012 22:53

Thanks for that bemybebe, would explain why I don't recall it so soon from DS1. Hope you're feeling better now.

ecstatica · 09/02/2012 23:10

Kveta - Thank you, booked an appt with private physio late afternoon but still in pain, never mind -- it won't be forever eh!
LOL at dodgy road in Westbourne Park :) I was brought up in W11!

Dalrymps Fast FWD of due dates sounds wonderful!!! I'll give you an extra creme egg if you can make it happen NOW :)

Night all, it's still snowing quite heavily here -- surprising!

violets · 09/02/2012 23:31

good scan news cathfin & amethyst. I'm going to remain one of the unconfirmed's Wink

As for the furniture, we used an over-cot changing table while DD1 was tiny, ie too small to roll over, and have used the mat on the floor ever since. They wriggle around so much!

We used washable nappies for a good 18 months until she grew out of them. These Flexitots with Motherease wraps. They can't stay on as long as disposables but get in some Metanium for any nappy rash and you're sorted. We must have saved an absolute fortune - it really grates on me how much a pack costs. Potty training is still in it's very early stages....

Syrup sponge and custard here tonight for that calorie hit baby has been asking for Wink

bemybebe · 09/02/2012 23:32

thedogwalker I am feeling much better, thank you. bloody bh! (they are almost gone now) Angry
i was in such a panic thinking i am having preterm labour again (lost my 23days old dd after giving birth at 24+1), but i was reassured that nothing is happening yet. thank god. but the consultant said said such bh really panic people in 2nd pg as they can be much stronger and longer and earlier and as the women cannot recall them in previous pg they do tend to worry more...

TheLittleMe · 10/02/2012 06:15

bemybebe that is so scary. I'm not surprised you get worried by BH, they cause me to stop and think am I? and I've never been in your situation.

Had the rescan yesterday and everything is great! What a weight off my mind. Had been thinking of possible situations where there was a problem with the heart, or spine, or both! Luckily we also had a different sonographer, who was lovely - so much better than last week. And baby is definitely a girl! Still don't think it has really sunk in that I'm going to have a daughter. Already have one son, and for some reason just assumed I would just have boys...

CathFin · 10/02/2012 08:18

thelittleme - that is great news! Such a relief to have a good sonographer too!

bemybebe - that would scare me too, so sad to hear about your dd - I havn't noticed bh in either of my pregs - wonder if I will get them this time!

Not sure if its the cold weather but I have been eating a lot more the last few days. We have some snow here today, but not too much luckily - looks very pretty though!

thedogwalker · 10/02/2012 09:48

Good morning all, bemybebe, no wonder you worry so much. I do hope you can relax now and enjoy the rest of your pregnancy, positive attitude is my motto. Ecstatica hope the physio helps you solve your problems.
Well I feel a bit better today, not fully recovered but just feel better in myself today, got more energy, at last Smile
Hope everyone has a wonderful day xx

Kveta · 10/02/2012 09:57

I had lots of BH a few weeks back, not so much now though. Had none with DS. bemybebe how scary for you, fingers crossed you get to complain about being overdue this time! Maybe not though :o

TheLittleMe we're the same - have a DS, and this one looks like a DD, it's weird, but very exciting! Wait for everyone saying 'oh, you don't need to have any more then' when they find out though... DS keeps rubbing my tummy and going 'hello baby sister!' to it, although I suspect he will be less impressed when she is born...

ecstatica we were on Harrow Road - it got dodgier and dodgier by the month! We were sad to leave, but also quite relieved as it was getting scarier to wait at the bus stop etc, and there were a few stabbings locally which frightened DH a lot. Chateau that makes sense wanting to stay near friends - but you will make tons of new friends when you have a baby, believe me! It still surprises me how many people I know locally just since DS was born! Can't walk through town now without stopping for a chat with someone!

violets we are tentatively potty training DS - if you want some potty training pads for the car or pushchair, my friend makes gorgeous ones - her FB page (for business) is here and the potty training pads should be here ours are currently just decorating the lounge, but hopefully we can test them out soon! DS did his first poo in the toilet yesterday - the facial expressions were HILARIOUS. mainly Shock and Grin but so so funny to see his delight! I had heard that toddlers were scared of flushing toilets too, but sadly DS is thrilled by it, and tried to stick his head in the bowl to see his produce, so to speak. sigh.

More snow here overnight - can't believe it! hope it goes over the weekend!

I will be 24 weeks on tuesday (and 30 years old, which is frankly horrifying), can't believe it's come round so fast.

have a good friday everyone!

ChateauMargot · 10/02/2012 10:01

Happy early 24 weeks and birthday, Kveta!

Dalrymps · 10/02/2012 10:35

TheLittleMe Great scan news and congrats on your little girl!Smile

Cath I have also been stuffing my face, think its just cause I'm a pig thoughGrin

Kveta Hope you have a lovely birthday, I turned 30 last year so I feel your pain!
How old is your ds? I'm itching to train ds2 but I don't think he's ready, he doesn't turn 2 till March and we didn't train ds1 till he was 3.

That's a whole other story though, took mover a year to get ds1 dry and even now he has the occasional accidentHmm

Warlin · 10/02/2012 11:40

Whoop Whoop it's Friday.....Grin.

This has been the longest week in history as I haven't been well.

kveta happy bday for Tuesday! I turned 30 last year and felt very traumatised by the whole thing. So much so that I still think I'm 30...DH had to tell Dr that I was actually 31 when I told him I was 30 :) Supposed to be the best years so time will tell!

Cath so glad scan went well and you are reassured.

bemy that must have been awful to lose DD so late on. I thought babies could survive from 24 weeks. No wonder you are a bit paranoid at every movement but I'm sure all is fine.

I was at the dentist this morning and was told I have inflammed gums. First time ever as I have only filing and never have any dental problems. He said it can be caused by the pregnancy and sent me home with mouthwash and floss! Think it's prob the amount of haribo I've been scoffing lately :)

I live in NI and we have totally escaped the bad weather...no snow at all and been really mild the past few days..+10 today so have ditched the scarf and gloves. Hope it all goes for you guys over the weekend.

Really wish I could fast forward next few months. Work is busy and likely to get even busier and I'm getting tireder and more uncomfortable. Just want little Thomas to arrive safe and sound :)

Shelduck · 10/02/2012 13:54

Hi everyone, and thanks so, so much for the warm welcomes!

Congratulations on all the scan news. It's like reliving the relief every single time! Good luck for anyone left - MonkeyJr on Monday I think? (I'm so sad - I'm sat here with a little scribbled note of who's who and doing what when, but it's got a bit out of hand!)

I'm another unconfirmed BTW. We did want to find out the sex, but modest child had its legs together. That said, we got a bit of a flash early on, and we think it's probably a boy. But there seem to be enough cases of sonographer's getting it wrong that I'm not going to make any assumptions!

Tea and sympathy to anyone suffering SPD or anything else nasty at the moment.

Thank you for the well wishes everyone. Grin I need all the positive energy I can gather as I am so fatalistic at times. warlin I remember posting on the mn september 2011 bus something along the lines "we are viable!!" when I reached 24 weeks, it is so bitter that the day later I was in the hospital 4cm dialated and there was nothing they could do to slow things down. That is why now I always post to guys who have some cramping and weird pains to go and check themselves out. just. in. case. I didn't do it in time, who knows maybe the outcome was the same, maybe not. Anyway, lets try not to talk about the past things here for too long...

As I am ordered "to take it easy" I am taking it literally and just lie on my left side with a cushion under my back and the laptop resting against my thigh, window shopping baby stuff on the internet. It is so much fun! Grin

Florin · 10/02/2012 15:04

Just bought myself a packet of triple chocolate chips cookies, I hated stuff like that before I was pregnant now I can't get enough of them. I blame dh as he loves them so think he has passed his love of sweet thinks on to the baby and the baby is making me eat them! They are certainly making the baby move lots!
Picked up crib last night which is perfect and a bargain at £40 also got some gorgeous little white company dungarees on eBay they are so so cute. Must stop buying baby clothes now I think I have an addiction!

Warlin · 10/02/2012 15:17

bemy that brought tears to my eyes...must have been horrific. Be positive this time though as that's pretty rare...I'm dying to get to 24 weeks as another milestone. So glad you're on the June bus with us now though :)

Florin I'm the same, eating lots of rubbish! Really don't want to get too big in case I can't use it again...I used to be a real gym bunny and obsessive healthy eater and now I'm a lazy bum with a love of all things sugar Grin

shelduck hilarious that you made a list...:) there are so many of us and it's hard to keep track! We do love to talk so bink and you'll miss something!

Feeling pretty rough today so heading home soon...boss says I look very pale. I keep getting hot flushes and feel a bit sick. I'm so tired carrying bump up and down the stairs too....is anyone else's bump feeling really hard and their organs all a bit squashed? Think I need another scan for reassurance that all is ok..

Wonder when I'll start glowing..........??

Right quick look on ebay for white company dungarees..they sound lovely! Wish DH was into shopping...I have bought one wee outfit and that is it...DH thinks it's tempting fate but I just want to start buying! arggghhh

Kayzr · 10/02/2012 18:22

Bemy I can't imagine hoEverw hard that must have been. Everyone makes such a thing about the 12 week mark and after that it all goes well and it's not the case. I am so pleased you are here with us.

I think I might be getting BH. I didn't think they would start this early but after a quick google I found that they actually start about 7 weeks but it said the earliest they are usually felt is 16 weeks. I don't remember them with DS1 and with DS2 they didn't appear until about 35 weeks. My bump keeps going rock hard and then back to normal.

Hope you are all well.

Kayzr · 10/02/2012 18:24

What on Earth does hoEverw mean?? Grin how is what I meant Bemy

TeaandHobnobs · 10/02/2012 18:55

Heartburn!!!! Sad

Florin · 10/02/2012 19:36

Bloody mil, dh has just told her we are having a boy with a big smile on his face as he is so proud. Mil's first comment was as long as you have a girl eventually and hope your sister is having a girl as I have already made lots of pink things. Feeling very pissed off, we are so so pleased we are having a boy and it hurts that someone would already feel disappointed in him Sad now got all evening with her! I want to have a whole rugby team of wonderful boys now!

Kayzr · 10/02/2012 19:39

Florin that is just plain nasty. Its horrible. I hope you and your sister in law have lots of boys.
