Morning ladiesSmile

Welcome and congrats kippersSmile

Thinking of all of you who are having scans today!

Warlin · 06/02/2012 09:19

Morning all

Good luck with the scans today and hope you all manage to get. Kayzr maybe your mum will change her mind and take you? Can't wait to hear all the news later and some new flavours!

Chateau and ff congrats on your girls! And tea comgrats on the boys. We are really quite even in the gender stacks at the minute...

Welcome monkey and kippers to the June bus,

Florin hope you get home ok, your hol flew in. I bet you're nice and relaxed now...and tanned...

Hi to everyone else.

I had a busy weekend. We have a viewer for the house tonight and really praying they want it..spent most of yesterday cleaning and had DH up doing some painting at 6.30 this morning! Just really unsettling as I don't want to lose the place at the beach we love, yet ours is priving slower to shift than hoped :(

Can't believe it's Monday again....still stuggling to get motivated in work and so busy...roll on June!

Hope everyone has a good day xx

CathFin · 06/02/2012 09:20

Good luck for all the scans today!

Our snow has mostly gone, we only had about an inch anyway. Just as well as we have ballet to get to later.

Morning all

ecstatica gutted that you're still throwing up, hope it keeps getting less frequent at least

Kippers welcome, I didn't feel that pregnant til I started buying maternity clothes either

Warlin fingers crossed you get a buyer, I was a nervous wreck when we were trying to sell our old flat having already fallen in love with the new one

yay Kayzr glad you can get to your scan, looking forward to all the scan news later

SpecialJK · 06/02/2012 11:48

Hi ladies. phew, you've all been busy since Friday, I had 4 pages to catchup with. I was at the wedding in Wales which I'll talk about later

Been for scan this morning and everything great with the baby - Yay! Grin our sonographer was brilliant and explained everything in great detail what she was doing. baby was upside down with his head towards my cervix. I say 'he' as she knew immediately what the sex was, but we said we didn't want to know. But DH is a bit geeky and did science/biology at uni, and he is absolutely sure he saw a scrotum twice. I've been convinced that I'm having a boy for about a month now, and we always call it 'he' when we talk about bump. Not confirmed on flavour though Smile

As I said, baby ok, but I join ecstatica in the low lying placenta club. Got to go back at 32 weeks for another scan. I may end up having 2, as my fibroids are low down too, so the consultant may want to monitor them to check they're not going to get in the way.

All happy and good. I hope that everyone else gets good scan news today and that kayzr you make it! Glad to hear that everyone last week had good news, and I think there's a couple of us tomorrow getting scans too?

warlin hope the people like the house tonight

My weekend wedding was ok. The drive there was horrific, the sat nav took us over bloomin snowdonia nearly on a single track gravel road. We were seriously up in the mountains with snow either side of the road. I had a panic attack/nervous breakdown and said I wanted to get out and then cried for the next 10 minutes. Then I came up in a mad heat rash on my arm when we got there.

Lets just say I'm pleased to be back some Smile

Will be looking out for all the scan news to come. Sorry I can't remember all the previous stuff, I can't seem to retain info unless I write it down as I read it!

millyv · 06/02/2012 12:26

Morning all!

Sorry I've been away all weekend, I have been reading but been suffering too much, the sore throat is all gone now but I woke up on Saturday morning unable to breathe, I have been on the sofa all weekend smothered in Vicks blowing my very red nose feeling very sorry for myself!

We had a little snow, it snowed all saturday afternoon but then it started raining and the snow disapeared almost immediately! I hope everyone manages to get out to their scans today!

Turned up to our scan this morning and had the same lady I have had for both previous scans, she was lovely and explained what she was looking at throughout. She asked if we wanted to know and I said i did but DH didn't so she said she'd tell me after DH had left the room. About 3/4 of the way through the scan DH announces actually i really want to know now so you can tell us both - I was really suprised! I was left on my own about half way through to lie on my side as the little one was in an awkward position but then she moved and the scanner lady got everything she wanted. She said everything was where it should be including placenta and that I shouldn't get anymore scans now unless the midwife sends me for one, which is both quite reassuring but also a little sad as I love seeing the baby in the scans!

I cannot believe we are having a girl, I thought it might be but because of the fact there are no girls in DH's family I was anticipating a little boy announcement! We haven't told anyone that we know and are hoping to keep it that way, I think I'm still in shock! DH looked shell shocked and just kept saying he couldnt believe it was a girl! I asked if he was ok with it and he said yes he was really excited but a little scared as he's never had to look after girls before, bless him! I just cannot stop smiling, totally over the moon!

Hope everyone else in the Monday club gets the scan news that they want!

Xxx

itchyfootedlady · 06/02/2012 12:26

morning all. I'm with special on the huge catch up session... no way I can remember it all without taking notes!

Congarts on all the scans... very very exciting! And all good news which is lovely :) Kayzr i really hope you get your scan today.warlin good luck with the house.

welcome all the new people, i can't get the oldies names sorted in my head without a list yet so bear with me on names!

Had a very chilled weekend, did a bit of shopping, cooked, watched movies, saw the Artist - thought it would be poncy but actually loved it. Woke up on Sunday morning and had a bit of a panic attack and tears again at how much life will change with the LO and how i don't know anyone to see on maternity leave and i will be a sad lonely lady sat at home crying at the baby when it cries and rocking in a corner. I texted a girl from yogabirth after i had calmed down though and we are going out for a drink on Wednesday, and had a friend over last night who is off work all summer as she's a lecturer and she is more than happy to come and play babies... so feeling fine now. Seem to having a very hormonal spell though... anyone else gone a bit mental recently? Baby brain has kicked in and seem to be a bit up and down with the moods! watched Juno at the weekend and sobbed, it normally makes me happy!

Scan is tomorrow and DH and I are massively excited. Can't wait to see the baby again and find out the sex. Its kicking all the time now and other people can feel it too which is lovely... i want to think of names and imagine the LO as an actual person now :)

AmethystMoon · 06/02/2012 12:28

Hello and welcome kippers :)

Congrats on the good scan news and your 'maybe' boy bump SpecialJK, from memory I think we're due the same date, so am very Envy that your scan is two days before mine Grin....soooo excited!

Bump really popped out over the weekend and boobs not showing any signs of slowing their growth, 34C to 36E already! I've been panicking that I've put on too much weight from my rather naughty approach of eating everything I fancy since about week 10. I am trying to exercise albeit gently. I have put on about half of what I was told to aim for for the whole pregnancy...but I had assumed that I would put on the majority in the final few months, so very confused as the guides seem to say I am likely to have put on about 7kg at this stage (20 weeks) but that is over a stone and my midwife (and several other sources) have siad I shoudl aim for around 2 stone for the whole pregnancy...so I am very Confused

Kayzr · 06/02/2012 12:41

They scan was great and it's a girl!!!! GrinGrin

Congratulations on all the other scans!!!

thedogwalker · 06/02/2012 12:44

Congratulations SpecialKJ on having a good scan and your maybe boy Smile
Congratulations to MillyV on your girl Smile
Itchy hope you're feeling better now. Honestly maternity leave is wonderful and you should enjoy it. The first few weeks of getting used to being a Mum is quite hard and I honestly thought that I would never be able to get my act together to be able to walk out the front door before noon. Then it was 11am and now its water off a duck's back. Don't be too hard on yourself, we all had doubts when we were first time Mum's. Actually I am wondering as a full time working Mum, will I be able to cope with 2 Hmm. But in the end I know I will manage it. Anytime you get worried, just come on here and let us know, we will be there for you and to help you through it Smile Thanks

What a busy couple of hours!!!

Where to start...so glad all the scans went well and that the LOs were co-operative where we wanted them to be!

special congrats on your LO, whatever flavour "he" may be!
Kayzr and milly congrats on your little girls [grin}

Make sure the stats are all updated so we can keep up with the tally..and let us know when names are decided...should we include them in the stats too??

Amethys I would worry about the weight. They say you could put on between 2 and 4 stone for the whole pregnancy. I'm trying to come to terms with the 7kg I've put on so far but more worried about how I'm going to limit the junk food afterwards as I've been eating what I want!

itchy I think we will all find mat leave a bit of a shock to the system but I agree with TDW that it's something to look forward to. It's my first so I can't offer any real advice but we will all be off at the same time so you'll have us to chat to :) I'm hormonal these days too....after tidying house for our viewer yesterday, I started crying and telling DH I felt unappreciated...after he'd made me my tea! I'm up and down too.

mily hope the cold gets better..I'm the same, sore throat and cough that just won't leave. Roll on spring

So excited to hear all the scan news and good luck to those tmw.

It's no wonder I can't get motivated to do ant work Grin.

ellybett · 06/02/2012 13:57

Hi ladies. Very quick post as have no hope of catching up on this activity from my phone!
Congrats to special, milly, and kayzr on your scans.
Mine was a bit of a disappointment. Had a stern and silent sonographer who fleetingly showed me glimpses of bubs who was being awkward and in bum up in the air position. After a while I asked if she could tell the sex to which she abruptly replied that they don't check the gender but when she measured the leg she couldn't tell. Has anyone else experienced this?
She didn't ask me to change position or get up and jump about so that's it. Feel deflated which isn't fair as bubs seemed healthy, no problems etc. Just think they could have mentioned beforehand so there's no anticipation.
Anyway, I've booked a private gender scan for this Friday as we really wanted to know so we can tell dd if she's having a little brother or sister.
I'm off to buy cake and to stop wallowing in self pity!

ChateauMargot · 06/02/2012 14:01

millyv, sounds like a lovely scan experience!

Funnily enough, last week I was told that we're now to be offered scans at 34 weeks, too, to measure growth - has anyone else had this? Apparently it's the way they do things now, nothing to do with the particular results of my own scan. I always thought that if things were fine at 20 weeks that was that, so it sounds like a nice bonus...

Just updated with my girl. The sonographer said she couldn't legally say 100% girl but she was 99% and she would be very very shocked if it was a boy.

So we now know we are having a little Rosalie. Its very exciting but all a bit strange after the 2 boys.

Milly Congratulations on your girl. Special Congratulations on your scan. Elly Sorry your sonographer wasn't all that nice Sad but Grin for the private scan. I hope you find out.

ecstatica · 06/02/2012 14:41

Ellybett - No comment at sonographer but rest assured I have two fingers pointed in her direction and a very Angry face! I'm glad you're having a gender scan done on Friday, hopefully make up for today's fiasco! Enjoy your cake please :)

Congratulations dear ladies who have scanned today! I loved reading all the updates :)

ecstatica · 06/02/2012 14:45

Special JK Oh no at mountainous snow drive!!!!! I don't envy you. When my DS's were just 4 months and 17 months old we went on holiday to Turkey. We decided to drive from the South West over to the East (was about a 9 hour drive) DH took us through some mountains (mountains seems understatement -- think cliffhanger views!) and I also asked to pullover had a panic attack and a little cry. I hope you're over it now. Is definitely scary pants stuff!

thedogwalker · 06/02/2012 15:30

Elly sorry to hear about your sonographer, I too have 2 fingers gesturing towards her. There is no excuse for it, all it takes is a bit of common courtesy and human kindness. It beggers belief some people's attitude. Hope you enjoyed your cake and fingers x for your private scam on Friday.

millyv · 06/02/2012 15:54

Ellybet sorry to hear the scanner woman spoilt your scan but I'm sure you're looking forward to seeing the baby again on Friday!?

SpecialJK You have to love sat navs don't you when you're heading off the beaten track!?! Congrats on your possible little boy!

kayzr congrats on your little girl!

ChateauMargot I would love to be offered another scan at 34 weeks but I don't thikn it will happen unless the MW request it by the sound of things.

Off to have a manicure and pedicure tonight ready for Dubai, it's currently 23-25.C, I can't wait to see come sun, I am most definately a summer person not winter!

Hope everyone has a good evening, I have pampering and then the chaos of packing everything when I get home to look forwrad to!

Xx

Miniangel · 06/02/2012 16:15

I am with itchy and special on the catch up. Had to read through 3 pages.
Congrats ffnorm,ChateauMargot, Millyv and Kayzr on your girls.
Congrats Tea on your boy and Special on maybe boy.
Lovely scan news and glad everybody got to theirs.
Ellybet very angry on your behalf. The sonographer should be shot.
MillyV very Envy of Dubai. Hope you enjoy the manicure and pedicure today.
itchy best of luck for the scan tomorrow.

My friend had a baby girl and we went to see her in the hospital on Sat. She's absolutely adorable. Had a lovely lunch party on Sun at another friend's place who has a 9 month old so this weekend was full of cute and lovely babies.

Amethyst I can't wait till wed. What time is your scan? Mine is at 14.30.

ellybett · 06/02/2012 16:42

Hi all. Thanks so much for your sympathy rage! It has been simmering away at me all day but have calmed down after a chocolate muffin. I just wished I'd said something to her because I think her approach was definitely off. Yes, they're busy in the NHS but it doesn't take much to appreciate this is a mother who wants to know the sex of their bump for really good reasons. I am now massively excited about Friday and got a very nice special offer price so can't wait to go!

Onto other things, special I read your post with my heart in my mouth! I know those roads quite well and the idea of driving them in snow scares me! Congrats on your possible boy. Now you sort of know are you going to stock up the boy clothes or keep it unisex until the arrival?

Itchy I had a mini freak out about impending arrival too! I get them time to time alternated with moments of excitement! All I can say about the maternity leave is that for me, last time around I took leave 5 weeks before due date and for me it was too early and I was soo bored! But when she arrived there was definitely no boring moments in the day! Especially in the first few weeks. Our local childrens centre has been brilliant with activities and meeting people as well as library sessions etc.

millyv please pack me in your suitcase! Dubai sounds amazing! My toes are tingling right now they're so cold! Hope you feel better soon.

chateau I'm not getting another scan on the NHS but they've pretty much told me that when it's your second plus they don't tend to bother about you! Lovely you get another chance to see LO.

To everyone else, hope you have a lovely Monday evening. Did you catch CTM last night? Love that programme so so much.
P.S Sorry for massively long post. Sugar rush!
