What a time of it you are having addicted!

Let's hope it is just catheter related. At least it sounds like baby is ok. X

They'll probably hook you up to the CTG in the morning and then go from there.

Moobee · 01/02/2012 05:12

Oh dear Addicted, hope things improve soon. :(

BigHotMama · 01/02/2012 07:36

My goodness addicted hope your ok sounds like a very confusing time you had there. Glad to hear baby is ok and fx you have a beter day. Hope you can catch up on some sleep bet your whacked.
((big hugs))

dozy I feel your frustration! I had no discharge or anything after my sweep yesterday so don't feel it had any effect. Just preparing my head around idea my birth will end in CS on Monday.

On the plus side I had a great nights sleep with real vivid dreams

Hope we leftovers all have a good day x

addictediam · 01/02/2012 08:49

Bleeding got very heavy so at 4 was told to come in immediatly. Seem to have also had a show, but this is separate from the blood.

Just waiting to see more drs who will decide. what to do with me!

ParsleyLion1 · 01/02/2012 09:50

Good luck addicted Fx that all ok and they decide to speed things up for you. x

Goodness, good luck addicted. Hope you're ok and junior is with us safe and sound soon.

Well, my news is that Alice Grace was born yesterday morning at home (planned). The midwife only rocking up 10 mins before she was out was less well planned, but there you go! I'll put my BS on the postnatal thread for anyone who's interested.

Good luck for everyone still waiting - the newborn snuffles will make you forget the annoyance of the wait!

ghosteditor · 01/02/2012 15:09

Oh my gosh, congratulations fryn! That's a beautiful name; how much did she weigh? Keen to hear your story!

ParsleyLion1 · 01/02/2012 15:46

Fab news Grin congrats Fryn Thanks

DozyNosy · 01/02/2012 16:17

Good luck addicted I hope your both safe and well. (((hugs)))

Congratulations Fryn I'm glad you got the birth you planed. And look forward to seeing photos on FB.

There's no news form me except that DD feels much further down since my sweep. It's quite uncomfortable no matter how I sit, lay or stand. I'm looking forward to OBEM tonight, didn't think I'd get chance to see this one. Maybe it will give DD some ideas.

BigHotMama · 01/02/2012 17:10

Congratulations fryn sounds like a quick birth and mw got there in time phew! Thanks

Good luck addicted hopefully by now you may be having some newborn snuggled too.

dozy glad your sweep did something even if it is uncomfortable as mine didn't work. Might mean your dd is getting herself ready.

Nothing happening here still Sad

shonnomanom · 01/02/2012 17:17

You are having a hard time Addicted. :( Hope you managed to get some rest. x

addictediam · 02/02/2012 09:58

And then there were 6!

After having my bits examined Blythe world and its aunt I have secondary catheter trauma. Apparently its not good enough to ask if the instruments they are using are latex free, its not good enough to have latex allergy written in big block capitals on the front of my notes and every page its not good enough to have a red hospital band on my wrist (rather than the white) which says latex allergy, its not good enough to think theyare wearing latex free gloves they know i have an allergy, nope I need to personally check all the packaging of every instrument they use because some idiot didn't think it would be a problem as it was a quick procedure Angry. Well thank you very much I now am in so much pain, am weeing blood and passing massive clots that feel as bad as the crowning stage. I can't wee as I am so sore and swollen and all the idiot could say was 'I'm sorry, I didn't realise

Thankfully things have improved and clots seem to have gone and pain is easing. Still weeing blood but that should end today.

Also with all the blood I'm not sure if I've had a show! And nor are the mw!

I'll go and catch up properly now, hope everyone is doing well and give birth very soon.

Moobee · 02/02/2012 10:04

So Angry for you Addicted. That is not your responsibility at all. I'd be investigating a formal complaint and maybe action against them.

ParsleyLion1 · 02/02/2012 10:14

That's awful addicted - what's the point of the red band if they are just going to ignore it! and since when is an allergic reaction reduced because a procedure is quick. Ridiculous.... Angry

On the plus side at least there is nothing wrong with baby - just hope she hurries up for you.

BigHotMama · 02/02/2012 12:04

That's just terribly negligent of them addicted I can't imagine how angry your feeling at moment and you really don't need this shit!
Hope things improve soon and definately complain about this!

ghosteditor · 02/02/2012 12:55

Oh gosh addicted tgat's awful for you - Angry at the hospital and [hugs] for you.

addictediam · 02/02/2012 20:44

The problem is I'd just finished having a converdation with her about how severe my allergy is. I can have latex on my skin but anything internal needs latex free eg the dentist needs to use everything latex free as do midwife's but I can wear latex gloves. (The conversation started because I asked if her gloves were latex free, she was suprised and mentioned the jel she had used to monitor me with earlier wasn't and I hadnt reacted to that) she lied and said everything was latex free, I can only imagine she wanted to 'test' me or something. That or she was too lazy to go and find a latex free catheter.

I'm just too run down to complain at the moment and i cant see that changing for a while after bump is born, so it will all be forgotten about. I just hope the mw and dr who did it learn from this :(

It's gone very quiet again, hoping that's good news! How is everyone doing?

BigHotMama · 02/02/2012 20:57

Awww big hugs addicted hope your feeling better

I'm still here ... Waiting ... Bored shitless ... Waiting ...

Oeisha · 02/02/2012 21:05

Oh gosh addicted. I'm with the others. Complain, maybe not now, but def. complain. They took my red band very seiously (everyone repeatedly asked about it despite it being something most of them had never heard of and I was never likely to be given in maternity).

OP posts:
ParsleyLion1 · 03/02/2012 07:13

Ditto with my red band. I'm only allergic to plasters and they just give me a localised rash but they took it very seriously. Plus OH reminded me that all the wards I was on while I was in hospital declared themselves latex free.
