It's gone very quiet today. I take it no ones had any signs of action. How is everyone? x

addictediam · 30/01/2012 18:30

Managed to have a shower at 5pm (I say managed dh took DD and sent me off for one, to help me feel better) I have a mw appointment tomorrow so may talk to her about AND see what she thinks. Been having some very dark thoughts andreally don't want it escalating to PND. Hoping its more hormones anyway.

DozyNosy · 30/01/2012 18:58

Oh addictediam you poor poor love (((hugs))). I can't be sure but I think I might know what you mean about dark thoughts. I'm not sure if you saw it but I posted this thread a while ago and it really helped me. I keep trying to stay positive and fend off any lurking depression, as I'm sure you know it's not easy. But try and stay strong and do talk to your MW. There are some really lovely responses it might help if you have a read. I really hope you feel a little better soon, just concentrate on the first cuddles that are not to far away. (((more hugs)))

Fryn · 30/01/2012 19:02

addicted definitely speak to her. It might just help to get it off your chest to someone who deals with pg women every day and knows what is and isn't usual at this stage. Hope it's just the hormones.

Well, my waters seem to have just gone (well, partially), but absolutely no other signs. Anyone know if they induce you after a certain time if there's no action? Didn't have to worry about this with DD - I think my nice easy 2nd birth is but a dream, and homebirth seems like a darned stupid idea!

DozyNosy · 30/01/2012 19:34

Fryn I was told that they will monitor you if your waters go and if nothing happens between 24 and 48 hours then they will induce you. Have you called the labour ward. It helps if you can tell them roughly how much waters you lost and put a pad on so that you can keep and eye on any more waters leaking. Good luck! I hope you have some more signs soon.

Hi everyone :) Congrats on all the new arrivals (not that I've had a chance to read everything I've missed) and sorry for disappearing.

Theo made his appearance almost exactly a week ago (11am on Tuesday 24 Jan) by emergency EMCS: turns out he was incorrectly positioned, with his head jammed down to the left of my pelvis rather than properly engaged (this had been showing up on the weekly scans for a while, but OBGYN and I were hoping he'd move) and although he was still perfectly happy last Monday afternoon (according to the CGT scan anyway), when I went back for a repeat scan last Tuesday morning his heartrate had dropped significantly - I was in theatre within half an hour - poor DH barely made it in time :)

Actually the CS itself was a piece of cake compared to the struggle I've had with breastfeeding - incorporating a tearful emergency dash for the Medela Swing over the weekend (!) - but fortunately I had some fantastic help from a breastfeeding consultant yesterday and he is now latching fine. Baby blues kind of got lost in the panic :) Not too sleep deprived (relatively speaking) and totally in love with him, as is DH. But v early days yet :)

As a matter of interest: can anyone recommend a good MN postnatal thread? Are people from here migrating to any thread in particular, or are we just dispersing? :(

addictediam · 31/01/2012 09:13

Capy there is a link on the open. Congratulations on your arrival x

Does it count as a show if the blood is about the size of a pin head? I need something to get excited about, so I'm going to say it does! :o

Feeling much better today, seeing the mw this afternoon will be talking to her about and, having a sweep asap and earlier induction (at 40 weeks)

Congratulations capybara loving the name Thanks and glad little man is latching on I remember getting so frustrated with that with ds.

Oh my word only seven of us left now! Scary and exciting!

Slept better last night and feel like I have a little spring in my step today. Just cleaned the outsides of kitchen cupboards, just having a mid choc break before getting on all fours to clean kitchen floor.

Going to see mw later for a sweep eek! And have had a sharp cramp down below which lasted for about minute thought it was start of something but felt nothing since so not overly excited.

Good luck to everyone still waiting it's our last chance to have a January baby today.

DozyNosy · 31/01/2012 15:52

addictediam I'm glad you'r going to talk to your midwife. You were in my thoughts last night while I was laying awake, hoping you feel better soon. If you'r feeling better today then hopefully you can put it or most of it down to hormones.
Would you add team pink to my details on the ever decreasing list please.

Congratulations Capybara

BigHotMama I had cramps and back pain last night but it turned out to be nothing, it's so frustrating when you look out for all these little signs and nothing happens.

Sounds like there's lots of sweeps happening today, I've just had one and not long after it felt some errm... leakage, got excited thinking it was waters but it was just a mammoth amount of discharge Blush sorry if that's TMI. She's coming back on Thursday if nothing has happened by then. I'm in two minds as to weather or not I should follow BigHotMama's lead and scrub the kitchen floor, but I'm feeling a little tender so might save it for when I'm wide awake at 2am.

Not long now ladies surely... hopefully!

addictediam · 31/01/2012 15:59

Just a quicky, didn't get to talk to mw about anything i wanted as she's sent me off to hospital for a possible induction asap due to reduced movement, water retention and lack of urination despite my bladder being full. Am in car on phone will update later!

BigHotMama · 31/01/2012 16:00

Dozy I just had a sweep and the student midwife did it and it wasn't as bad as I remembered with ds, hoping for some leakage too Blush
mw said if she can come round to the house to do another on Friday morning if nothing happens but I just want to see how I feel by Thursday. Was bit miffed when she said your 1cm dilated as thought with it being my second dc I would be more like 2cm.

Floor looks sparkling but I did have to nap afterwards as was knackered.

No cramps since the one this morning grrr think I jinxed myself.

BigHotMama · 31/01/2012 16:06

Good luck addicted hope everything is ok and baby just being lazy keep us updated if poss x

ParsleyLion1 · 31/01/2012 18:17

shonnomanom · 31/01/2012 18:27

Congratulations capy

And good luck addicted, hope everything goes well for you x

Hope all you lovely ladies are well and taking it easy inbetween scrubbing the house. ps remember the car needs cleaned, it worked for me

DozyNosy · 31/01/2012 19:03

TMI WARNING but advice needed

I think the sweep did something because I have bled a little. I was a bit scary seeing the blood, I don't think there was much, but it was while I was on the loo so it's had to tell. MW did tell me to expect some bleeding so I'm not too worried. I'm not sure if my plug has gone though. Do you know about it when your plug goes? What does it look/feel like?

Oeisha · 31/01/2012 19:04

Congratulations capy...see you on the other thread!

to all you remaining ladies.

Good luck addicted!

ghosteditor · 31/01/2012 19:10

Good luck addicted!

Dozy, I had a bit of bloody show the morning of the day I went into labour, then nothing. Once contractions started at 4.30pm I started bleeding what I thought was loads - enough that I was quite worried. Mentioned it when I called labour ward and they were unconcerned, so I think unless you're gushing red blood it's normal! The birth was pretty gory too...

MissRee · 31/01/2012 20:54

Dozy I certainly knew when my plug was going - it was the consistency of snot or fertile cervical mucous (i.e. stretchy and jelly like) and streaked with blood (mostly old, brown blood).

Oeisha · 31/01/2012 21:03

dozy after my sweep I had a fair bit of blood. My plug was def. very different though. Like missree says, thick snot, mine was very brown thanks to the sweep and happened about 40h after the sweep, but there as some fresh blood too. It came out over about 24h. I didn't fell the plug passing, just noticed it felt like I was wiping something 'more' than usual, so had a look.

DozyNosy · 31/01/2012 22:26

OK from what you have said and a bit of google research. I think it was a bloody show and not my plug. I've had no bleeding since and DD is moving around lots at the moment, so I guess everything is fine. No other signs. [very frustrated emoticon]

Has anyone heard from Adicted? I hope she and her baby are ok.

addictediam · 01/02/2012 03:56

Morning ladies, thought I'd come and update properly. When I got to the mw yesterday and gave her my sample she asked 'is that all it was only alittle dribble in the pot, I explained I'd had some problems passing urine but aparantly despite needing to go, that was it! When she was feeling baby she said she could feel my bladder was very full. She then asked when the last time I felt the baby move, thought about it and realised it was Monday pm.
She sent me straight to hospital saying they would probably induce me.

The 1st consultant gave me a sweep, said they would keep me in over night and look at induction in the morning if no movements (babies heart rate was fine as was ctg so no rush to get her out) the 2nd. Consultant was a trained sonographer and decided to scan me. Baby has moved so that's probably why I'm not feeling movements. She also looked at my bladder and although it didn't look too full baby was in the way and she agreed it felt very full.

She decided to have a catheter put in, drain bladder, send me home and go back if no change. Thing the catheter in, in the end the dr had to come and do it. and not much came out Not much came out leaving every one confused, but bladder now didn't feel full. I had to havebloods taken to check my kidney function which came back normal and I was senthome to monotonous urine levels and baby movements.

You still with me!?

So fast forward to now, I seem to be weeing bright red blood although its non stop so may not be wee. I'm also passing clots, not sure where they are coming from but its not gunky like a show, its pure blood :( . I have to phone triage back at 4 to tell them what's happening (they wanted me to go straight in but I don't have anyone to have DD till morning so they want regular updates instead) they think (more hope really) the blood has been caused by the trauma of the catheter and that baby is fine.

Phew that was long! But on the upside I've felt her move lots since getting home :)

addictediam · 01/02/2012 04:00

Sorry stupid auto correct.

There were problems getting catheter in

I was sent home to monitor urine levels
