I've been a little awol, unfortunately not because I have a newborn but I am so tired and am in bed really early most nights now.

Congrats to all the new babies, I see there aren't many left now to go.

Feeling alittle depressed that after tomorrow i will be the only one not to have reached my due date :(

Oeisha I'm also insanely jellous that you are still manageing to orgasm we dtd last night and this morning (I'm desperate to get this baby out) and only managed a small almost orgasm on the second attempt! :o

Waiting to see the mw now for my 38 week appointment. I'm so fed up of not being able to walk, my ribs hurting and these stupid tightenings. i may have a mini break down in there.

Oh Addicted it's not long for you now - do some fun pampering things for yourself while you're waiting. I found having haircuts and nice appointments helped pass the time. :)

addicted I'm not due until 29th, so we'll be the last standing/sitting/dozing on the sofa.

I had DD at 39+1, so having made 39+2 I'm bored and wondering what on earth I'm supposed to do now! Been to the tip, chucked all the out of date stuff out of the fridge and pantry (I didn't know tins actually went out of date!), wrapped DD's present from DC2 and now twiddling my thumbs. I think I'll go and climb the stairs a few times and see if that gets anything going. Yawn.

Went for a sweep this morning and doc said my cervix was soft (but still quite far back) and I'm 1-2cm dilated, so fx something happens in the next couple of days. She wanted to book me in for induction tomorrow morning but there was no room on labour ward until weekend so induction booked for 7am on Saturday. :S Feeling a bit apprehensive but hoping things may progress naturally!

Ive got a midwife app tomorrow (40+3) at last one she said i wouldnt get a sweep till my 41 week app but that means ill be 10 days over. Is that normal? Getting fed up now, especially with all the fb comments/texts and phone calls

xshevix, I think it really depends on your local area policies. A lot of ladies on this thread were offered sweeps earlier, but I'm 9 days overdue today and got my sweep this morning so I think it's quite common! It'll mean they'll probably try and induce you 1-2 days after your sweep.

Awww i really dont want to be induced even though i am fed up. I hope she shows up soon she's been engaged since 34 weeks shes just too cosy in there i think haha. Was your sweep painful? Im new to all this! First baby hehe.

Yeah, my first too so feeling a bit clueless! :) Sweep was a bit uncomfortable but it was over in 10 seconds so I wouldn't worry about it too much! Feeling quite sore now though, not sure if that's a good sign or not!

I was going to have induction tomorrow but labour ward too busy so will have to wait till Saturday, so at least I have 4+ days to try and get things moving naturally - bouncing on ball :)

Haha ive been doing loads of ball bouncing, it makes me feel dizzy after a while! I had spd at about 28 weeks for a while, it calmed down a bit but its starting to flare up gain

i had 2 friends due with 3 weeks of me and theyve both had their little bundles makes me sad lol.

Glad it doesnt hurt too much! I only dont want to be induced cos i hate needles which is silly cos i used to give blood have tattoos and piercings!

I hope your sweep works, id be so impatient by your point.

Yeah, I'm hoping it will kick things off before induction, although induction might not mean needles, they might opt for inserting some gel first by a tampon-like thing but think it depends on the hospital.

Mw took one look at the tattoos on my feet and said I probably wouldn't need much pain relief as my pain threshold must be high! Haha, she should have seen me wimpering at the tattoist! Bring on the drugs, that's what I say! :)

Sorry about your SPD, I have it too but some days are worse than others!

Haha i know im terrible with pain, feel sorry for my oh as he will probably get an earful when im in labour. I just wanna see what she looks like

xshevix I've been told by one midwife I'll get a sweep at 40 weeks and by another not until 41 weeks - frankly I have no idea what's going on!

karmanna hope it kicks off naturally - it's good you're already slightly dilated! Now get floor scrubbing!

My parents have just been over - my mother clearly thinks I'm starving as she brought a bag full of chocolate/cake/saturated fat. I'm trying to be not too naughty, but as I'm home alone for the next few days I can see this is going to be a recipe for disaster!

They dont half like confusing you eh?! Its like with how engaged she is, some mws write it as palpable and others engaged...

Im terrible for nibbling on chocolate atm hehe.

I've just had my second slice of cake - it's really not looking good for the healthy eating!

My MW hasn't bothered to check if I'm engaged or not for the past 2 appointments, but I guess that's as it's no. 2, so they engage a lot later/in labour. It's a bit annoying though - she could have a quick prod to make me feel better!

Yeah my friends training to be a mw so she prods me when ever she visits haha my mw forgets to measure me half the time and i didnt have a growth chart till 38 weeks lol.

xshevix, we're having a little boy. Can't wait to meet him now and see what he looks like. So weird thinking me and DH have created this little thing that might look like both of us! We did one of these stupid merging of our photos on the internet to see what baby could potentially look like, but he came out looking like a pixie, and he had my nose ring - that's something I hope he wouldn't inherit from birth! :o

Fryn, I wish someone would bring me lots of chocs and cake. You deserve spoiling yourself this last stretch! Soon enough we probably won't have time to feed ourselves much!

Aww haha yeah i can imagine them pictures can turn out quite creepy i still cant quite believe that theres an actual baby in there! Im gunna miss my little leaning ledge when she's here haha.

Been playing some baby crying noises for my dog today so she gets used to it. Its hilarious watching her turn her head to the side!

Yeah, as much as I want pregnancy to be over I think I might miss the bump a little bit...

Missree, no not heard anything from Oeisha since last night so fx, and pretty sure Dee must be labouring or have given birth too!! We're dropping like flies! Come on remaining babies!!!

My mw appointment went ok, i was praying there would be a reason to induce me but urine was clear, bp normal and movements and hb all fine. Bump is 1/5 engaged :o which is good for a second baby, means things are moving in the right direction. Lots and lots of bh today, don't expect it to go anywhere tho :(

You talking about your first babies reminds me of when we bought dd home from the hospital. Dh put her car seat on the living room floor, i sat on the sofa looking at it and thought 'crap what have i done! How the hell do i look after this?!' Dh looked at me and said 'what do we do now?' To be fair, I still have days like that now with dd, i still can't believe I'm in charge of such a small impressionable child amd soon there will be 2 of them!!

You miss your bump!? You guys are crazy :o i remember last time it being a huge massive relief when she came out, I'm sure I felt my body literally breathe a sigh of relief.

Think if I'd been slightly higher risk they would have squeezed me in for an induction tomorrow but I'm too healthy!! I have a scan booked for Thursday now though to make sure baby's happy, and then the induction Sat morning. I'm crapping myself - I've been so impatient to meet bump inhabitant, but the reality of it is starting to kick in now and I've just realised I'm going to have to look after a little person!
