Oeisha, we're in the same boat. I woke up with a horrible cold, 8 days overdue, no real symptoms and not even got a date for induction yet... :(

We were really hoping he'd arrive at the weekend so DH wouldn't have to go back to work today!

Oh, Ghost, I really hope you get to go home asap today!!

Hope everyone else waiting are doing ok!

ParsleyLion1 · 23/01/2012 10:48

Morning ladies Smile

Waiting to be discharged ( hopefully). Can't remember what my house looks like! Grin

ghosteditor · 23/01/2012 10:52

WE'RE GOING HOME!!! GrinGrinGrinGrinGrinGrin

Oeisha · 23/01/2012 11:00

ghost YAY! Grin
parsley FX they actually get round to discharging you!

karmana we can feel soggy and miserable together. I was so paranoid DH was going to take another days leave today, but he's gone in. How long he stays at work we will see (they basically generate their own work, and, well, he hasn't set anything up for this month/early Feb, so if bored).

Feeling a bit less hopeless. Just got all the paranoias about having a cold whilst delivering now (ha! Like she's coming any time soon). Will they let me have a sweep Wed, if I do go into labour will they let me have a water birth, will I be infectious to Abi/other babies etc. Confused...ah well.

Next rount of hot tea and manuka it is. Now I just have to think of something for lunch that's going to stay down, is nutritious and isn't going to aggrivate my throat more.

Oeisha · 23/01/2012 11:01

Oh and thank you for all the misery hugs and vibes. I get the feeling I wouldn't be as bad with a DC2 as I wouldn't have the time to feel sorry for myself! Grin

Karmanna · 23/01/2012 11:10

Yei Ghost, and fingers crossed parsley!

Oeisha, I've been thinking about that too! There are big notes on the labour and post natal ward doors that visitors with colds are not allowed in but they can hardly turn me away if I'm in labour even if I have a cold! Confused

Got a sweep tomorrow morrning (I hope!) and assume they'll book me in for induction then in case things don't start happening after the sweep. I'm hoping for induction at the weekend so that DH's 2 weeks of paternity leave is not eaten up by me being in labour!

addictediam · 23/01/2012 11:49

Oeisha, a few weeks ago (when we thought this monster was going to beearly and spend time in the scbu, Hmm yea right this baby is never coming!) I had an awful cold and was worried I wouldn't be able to hold or see bump. I started a thread, but can't find it now, and the general consensus from people who had been through it was that it didn't matter if you had a cold, nothing changes and baby will be fine. Hope that brings skittles comfort to you.

I've just washed the crib mattress, I was going to buy another, but though I'd have nothing to lose by hand washing it. It's actually come up really nice and looks very clean. I also know it's clean cause the bath was disgusting! I washed it twice just to married none of the yucky water was left in it!

tigana · 23/01/2012 11:50

Oooh I am sending appropriately squeezy vibes to all of you suffering the overdue blues.

fryn - dd was my 2nd. DS labour and delivery was not at all fast or straightforward with mucho intervention (no details on an antenatal thread Grin), DD was quick, uncomplicated and fantastic (as labours go!!). MIL has already started the nagging for #3 ("the next one will be even easier"...I feigned deafness Hmm)

Oh, and re non-latching, DS was not great in this area (poor mite), DD however will latch on to a stiff breeze passing her cheek given half a chance Grin.

addictediam · 23/01/2012 12:03

Anyone heard from Dee? She's gone quiet on here and the. Hope that means she's having/ had herbaby :o

Karmanna · 23/01/2012 12:33

Addicted, I was just thinking the same thing! FX!!!

ParsleyLion1 · 23/01/2012 15:38

I'm at home Grin baby asleep - tick. Cat run off in scaredy strop. Hmm

FrillyMilly · 23/01/2012 17:25

My labour with DD was 24 hours, failed to progress passed 6cm, had syntocin drip, epidural which numbed everything from chest down, she was in bad position, threatened with keillands forceps/c section, she moved and it took 3 hours to push her out ending with episiotomy due to distress. She also struggled to feed and I gave up breast feeding after a day.

Ds labour was a breeze compared to that. Even though I struggled with the pain it was much quicker. I only wish I hadn't been hooked up to a monitor or that the epidural had actually worked. Ds was latched on suckling within about 20 minutes of being born and fx seems to be taking to it a lot better.

tigana · 23/01/2012 17:29

parsley our diva-cat tolerates dd until she squawks, then she stands up, stretches, and stalks out of the room looking disgusted. Grin

ghosteditor · 23/01/2012 18:16

I'm on the way home right now after 6 days!!!

fishandlilacs · 23/01/2012 19:11

anyone heard from peanuts?

laylasmummy09 · 23/01/2012 21:23

Hi everyone and congrats to all new mummys, Thanks

I'm currently sat holding my beautiful baby boy jacob who was born saturday morning after 4 hour labour I arrived at hospital expecting to be 4 cm dilated and was examined and told to push Shock I was pushing for 45 mins when jacobs heart rate started to drop and I had episiotomy 2 pushes later he was in my arms, I had gas and air and I was really glad I didn't have chance for epidural coz I really wanted one when I got there! He's 7lb 3 1\2 oz and feedinghourly at the moment as he spent yesterday being spoon fed hand expressed milk as he was too tired to latch on, he is soo content when he's done feeding but I think he will be having a dummy soon as he sucks his fingers, good luck to you ladies still waiting xxx

addictediam · 23/01/2012 21:36

Congratulations laylasmummy! Thanks and welcome Jacob Bear

Triage, DH and MIL and Mum think my waters have just gone. I'm in denial...
About half a cups worth, clear and non-smelly. Sudden unclenchable rush followed by about 2mins of drirbbles/drips. Had literally just been for a post DTD wee...and had the weidrest orgasm whilst DTD...so...maybe that was it.
TMI, also very windy. Can hear it gurgling round...hopefully that'll clear before anything happens. I'm assuming it's the wind that's causing bottom ache. Only 1 tightening so far.

Off to try and get some sleep.

Ooo fx oeisha xxx sounds positive

4am feed for me.

BigHotMama · 24/01/2012 07:09

Ooh how exciting oiesha sending lots of positive labour ((vibes))

Congratulations laylasmummy sounds like another quick labour giving us leftovers some hope! Thanks

Well it's my due date tomorrow and still no sign, having problems trying to get to sleep at night - not through pain or discomfort - it's pure anxiety over possible labour situations it's doing my head in! Can't drift off just seem to toss n turn for a good hour my eyes look like piss holes in the snow.

Off for a Brew and Biscuit

Hope everyone is ok today and trying to remain positive Smile

laylasmummy09 · 24/01/2012 08:10

Thanks everyone Smile good luck oiesha hope things are progressing for you, I was in denial when my water broke too as I felt it pop but nothing came out until my cx got strong then every time I had one some would come out, then I sneezed and it went everywhere Blush
Sending you all quick labour vibes, have a good day Brew

Moobee · 24/01/2012 08:32

Oiesha that sounds like when my waters went. It continued for an absolute age. Hope labour starts for you now! :)

Congratulations Kelli and Laylasmummy Thanks

Ghost great news about leaving hospital. Is it your birthday today? That's a nice present. :)

xshevix and Karmanna and all those others fed up of waiting, hope things get moving for you soon. Get lots of sleep and rest up now while you can. Grin
