Fx karmama you never know- let's hope something is happening. I can only assume they have less staff at night? Not sure really. The consultant told us earlier that delivery was 24hr so no probs whatever time. When the midwife came she thought consultant had already told me not tonight so i think she was surprised when she got the full on waterworks Just asked her if the same applied to weekends - apparently weekends aren't an issue. Not sure I believe her. OH had just gone home when she told me. He is furious.

Sorry for the rants today ladies Blush

Sending squeezy vibes for all those wanting them. Xx

Oeisha · 19/01/2012 22:13

saladcream Congrats! Thanks and welcome James Bear

Oh Parsley Sad I hope you manage to get some rest. I assume the nightshift thing is because they have fewer consultants on at night.

karmana fx, hope it turns into something.

Had a bit more plug, and a very squiggly Abi with some HBs, but nowt else. Just feeling very Biscuit. At least Mum hasn't rung to pester to check on progress. MIL has, but DH spoke to her very briefly. Getting fed-up with the calls, as if I can do anything about it...
...off for a bath and more sleep.

FX for everyone still waiting

hi all, sorry ive not been on here in a long time. thought id shaire my birth story with you all.

i was took to hospital on friday with sevier pains and got kept in for monitering as ames heart rate was going a little too high, this calmed down after about an hour but kept me in there was talks of keeping me in till baby was born but i was a little unhappy about this and they were happy that it had calmed down and said i could go home and needed to see my midwife every other day to check it. i bent down to pick up my shoes out of the bedside table when my waters went. they checked me over and said yep you need to come back in 24 if you have not had baby by then. so went homenothing happend so went back at 11 am on sunday and they gave me a pessery, at 8:30pm i was checked again and there was no improvement and the midwife said my waters had not fully broken so she broke them at 9pm by 10pm i was in the delivery suite in establised labour. i had a bath and when the pains got too bad i had gas and air. when i got out the bath 2 hours later i was 7cm dilated. i asked for more pain relife and was given meptin injection (x2) i kept telling the midwife i need to push and she said im not ready to from about 1.30am. at about 2.30am she examined me and said that im defo ready to push and have been for a while. 40 mins later ame came into the world. full labour was 5 hours 10 mins. Ame was born at 3:10am and she weighed 7 pound 9 ounces and was 5 days early. the other half was amazing and cut the cord and watched ame come out.
she has took to breast feeding brill. i only got a graze during birth as well.

Good luck to all those still waiting.
Congratulations to all that have had babies.

xxx

shonnomanom · 19/01/2012 22:45

Congrats salad !

I really feel for you parsley we were only waiting in a room for a day waiting to get on the labour ward and that was long enough.
(((Hugs)))

mz they told me as well that it was too early to push. Charlie was born 10mins later. Mumma knows best eh!

Hope all youively ladies are coping and are well x

ParsleyLion1 · 20/01/2012 05:47

Morning ladies Smile

Managed about 5 1/2 hours sleep straight so feel a bit better. OH brought me in a radio yesterday so at least I know what day it is!

frilly from my observations here this week the inductions do seem to be easier for the people already on their way and for the people already at term. If your waters have gone they won't give you the propess drug I had for 24 hrs You 'll probably get the 6 hour pessary.

Good luck and squeezy vibes for everybody todaySmile

FrillyMilly · 20/01/2012 06:58

Congratulations salad

mz that's a lovely story. Glad you are both doing well!

I hope you manage to get somewhere today Parsley. I didn't sleep too bad last night. Trying to have some breakfast but feel a bit sick with nerves. Hope we both have our babies by the end of the weekend.

Moobee · 20/01/2012 07:06

congratulations Salad! Thanks

Oeisha · 20/01/2012 07:06

mz Glad to hear everything was good in the end!

parsley FX for you today. Surely it has to be today...

Well, no change here. Other than a sore hip.

Woke up at 0430 and just managed to get back to sleep when alarm went off for DH, who then proceeded to bugger about with sniffing and tossing and turning for 20 bloody minutes, so I gave in and got up.

Have the joys of FIL coming to look at the shower again (yes, believe it or not they've still NOT managed to stop the leak...even though they know the cause..., in that the seal's not working round the base). Otherwise not much else happening.

Missyface is a little bit wriggly this morning, but I really don't think anything exciting's going to happen. DH is fed up with waiting...I am, and I'm not. I just want my baby-girl here for snuggles, but so long as she's ok then I can't really miff too much.

ParsleyLion1 · 20/01/2012 07:22

So bit of excitement here I thought I would share. Lady in cubicle next door got uncomfortable about 6.30 am wanting to push. Baby's heartbeat dropped so they examined her at 7 and found waters and baby's head about to come. No room in delivery suite and no time so they just delivered her here. 2 pushes and she was out baby girl at 7.15 am. Grin Poor husband completely missed it.

ghosteditor · 20/01/2012 08:02

Hi ladies! Just popping by to say that baby Juliet and I are doing very well, though still in hospital for my BP. She's feeding like a total star, but almost exclusively at night so far, so I'm hand expressing a bit during the day to try to stimulate her appetite (she fed 7 times from 9pm to 7am though!) she did actually let me sleep 4 straight hours last night so I feel a lot better.

She was 7lbs 6oz by the way!

As for birth stories, I think the MW was pretty alarmed when I turned up at 8.5cm! They didn't really believe me on the phone because I was breathing well through contractions, but my word, they were strong! All got a bit complicated when I was rushed to the hospital (on the same site ) at 10 cm - was given some BP mess and asked to wait an hour before pushing if possible! Let's just say there was some pushing going on considerably earlier than that, but I took it easy. Thought I was going to get away without tearing but I have what think is a bit of first degree labial tearing. Not too bad so far.

Anyway Juliet is waking up now so must go. GOOD LUCK to everyone waiting and on the way! Grin

supadupapupascupa · 20/01/2012 08:21

morning ladies!

I reach term today and am having my stretch and sweep at 09:20. Not looking forward to it much i have to say, just hope it works!

ParsleyLion1 · 20/01/2012 08:34

What a lovely name ghost :)

Good luck supa hope it works for you [fx emoticon]

BigHotMama · 20/01/2012 09:22

Great birth stories mummyzoe and ghost and glad they are positive ones Grin

Good luck for sweep today supa

parsley thought you had gone into labour reading the first bit of your message, sounds like it's all going on around you must be bloody frustrating, hope it's your turn today!

Smurf was going mental last night really thought my belly was going to burst open and few stabby pains which made me go ooh, could these have been hb's? Not sure but it was very active for a good few hours.

Think I must be mad, I'm going to see a kasabian tribute band tonight with my dh, luckily there will be seats and I probably won't shift off my ass i just hope the music doesn't start me off as I'm happy to wait until my edd on Wednesday.

Good luck everyone who is still here x

Fryn · 20/01/2012 10:05

Morning ladies!

parsley I really feel for you and have everything crossed that something happens NOW!

Congratulations salad, and great birth stories mz and ghost! ghost I must say yours is similar to my first one - so hoping for something similar this time.

DD1 slept through last night, and I didn't need to get up to pee, so I must have had a good 7 hours. Utter bliss. Although one of the carers at DD's nursery took one look at me and told me to go back to bed Hmm thanks for that!

Nothing going on here - almost permanently solid bump, but it hasn't dropped and I don't think DC's engaged, so not expecting anything soon. DH is going to take DD out for the day on Sunday, which probably means it'll kick off when he's nowhere nearby!

Good luck frilly - hope it goes well!

oeisha how is your shower not sorted?? How annoying.

BigHot Wow - I'll be interested to see if Kasabian's music is a labour enducing option. It could be the answer to many of our problems!

Karmanna · 20/01/2012 10:33

Ooh, mz and ghost - it's nice to hear some positive birth stories for us who are still waiting!

BHM, hopefully baby is a Kasabian fan and will want to come out! :)

Parsley, wow, that sounds exciting - assume it wasn't her first with such a speedy birth!

Cramps persisted through the night but have eased up since I got our of bed - grrr. I really thought something was happening but should be used to Duckie crying wolf by now I suppose...

Hope everyone's doing well!

supadupapupascupa · 20/01/2012 11:01

pppfffffttttt sweep unlikely to work.
no change since boxing day except we are now 2/5 descended. Still 1cm left of cervix, and still tight shut. grrrr

i am so jealous of you ladies who have had your babies already Sad but very very happy for you all too.

DH taking me out to lunch to cheer me up

addictediam · 20/01/2012 11:25

I have to go back to triage, thankfully not until 6pm (I negotiated with the midwife as I dorn't really think there is a problem!) I've had lots and lots of discharge, some very watery and the last lot was quite dark yellow, almost green. Have to go in 'just in case' but really don't think there is a problem.

Supa sorry to hear its unlikely to work, hope it at least moves things along for you.

Karmanna I know that feeling, my monster keeps teasing me too, so fed up of it.

Oeisha · 20/01/2012 11:53

ghost Glad to hear everything is well with Juliet and you.

BHM You never know, some kasabian might be what's needed to rock LO out of you!

fryn it is exceedingly annoying...but well at least FIL is doing it all for free.

addicted FX for later.

Oh gods, missy's off on another bashing session...don't think lunch is gonna go down easily today.

OP posts:
ParsleyLion1 · 20/01/2012 12:20

Fx for later addicted

It's got to the point when the consultants have started apologising as well as the midwives On the plus side the lady who gave birth this morning was ahead of me in the priority queue and I am next unless an emergency or another lady in active labour comes in. Apparently there were 2 births in this ward overnight - I slept through the first one. Blush I must have been exhausted! Blush

FrillyMilly · 20/01/2012 12:35

Quick update from me. Been monitored and examined. Waters still feel intact so they think a hind water leak. I'm 2-3cm dilated so they aren't bothering with the pessary. Just waiting for room on the delivery suite to go and have waters broken. Doctor gave me a sweep when examining me which was quite uncomfortable so not looking forward to the waters being broken. Feel bad as two other ladies on ward for induction that are term + 12 and I'm jumping ahead of them.

ghosteditor · 20/01/2012 12:45

Parsley, you are having a time of it, aren't you? Massive sympathy here - being in hospital is hard work and I at least am not still pregnant! Hope you can get going now you're at the head of the queue!

ParsleyLion1 · 20/01/2012 12:57

Thanks ghost Smile

Sounds like frilly is in the same position as me now. Just hope her delivery suite is not as busy as mine.

Karmanna · 20/01/2012 13:18

Thinking of you Parsley and Frilly, fx you get your rooms soon! Wow, seems so busy in the labour wards - I blame the double bank holiday in April 2011 - seems a lot of people conceived over that period!

Last day for capricorn today - aquarius starts tomorrow!

Karmanna · 20/01/2012 13:23

Oh, actually - aquarius started today! I somehow thought it was Thursday today! Oh dear, I've obviously been off work for too long, getting my days mixed up! Blush

ParsleyLion1 · 20/01/2012 13:36

karmanna just had that very same conversation with the MW. I conceived the week after that double bank holiday but am here a week early! So it must be that making it so busy. Smile
