My goodness, it's been busy on here today? It's buzzing....

fish I did get your pm thank you and I have sent you a little one back.

I'm feeling terrified but I'm handling it and I'm ready! My darling little girl was crying all evening because she doesn't want me to stay in hospital on my own. DH and I went out for very early supper, as have to be in at silly o'clock and Grandma called us on the mobile with an inconsolable little lamb chop. My heart was breaking. I came home straight away and we got in her bed and I made her giggle for a good 45 mins with funny stories and it was one of the best moments of my life so far.........
My ds was snoozing away next to her contentedly looking like an angel (they're having sleepovers together every night whilst I'm in hospital!)

Anyway, it made me focus on them and think about being strong and coming home with new babe and how amazing it is and how lucky.
So: epidural, spinal, ELCS, contractions, trapped wind, whatever! Bring it on! I am ready and it's going be fine!

Happy thoughts ladies ,we ar nearly there.......Good luck to the labourers and to those who are overdue I am sending scrunches and squeezes in abundance.

I shall let you know how I get on as soon as I can x

peanuts777 · 17/01/2012 22:47

Sorry. Just re-read post and its super sickly slushy but true....Hormones must be on overdrive tonight.........

shonnomanom · 17/01/2012 22:50

She good luck and lots of hand squeezing to those enroute and those going in tommorrow x

shonnomanom · 17/01/2012 22:51

emmyjj · 18/01/2012 01:14

Haven't had a chance to catch up on thread since Sunday pm, but just dropping by to share the news that after a very swift labour via one dose of propess our beautiful boy Rafe was born at 1am on Monday morning.

The three of us have had the most amazing 48 hours getting to know each other, he is just the best thing in the world.

Birth story and thread catch up to come - good luck to everyone waiting, birthing or snuggling newborns!

abeautifulbutterfly · 18/01/2012 02:10

Hi guys yet again am up at silly o'clock with pains, this time more intense and at top ofbump rather than low down but can't tell if they're cx r not (Hmm - you'd think by baby no. 3 I might have worked it out...).

Peanuts that was a lovely post!

COngratulations tigana, bellini and emmy! How you doing ghost and addicted and parsley?

Bit worried as the bloke we asked to look after our DDs when we go to hosp came into school this am and said "I haven't slept for days waiting for you to call". We laughed it off but then he phoned DH tonight and asked him if anything was going to happen tonight as he'd love a bit of shut-eye Shock Confused WTF?? So of course now I wake up t 2 am and am worrying he'll have turned his phone off if we need to get in touch.

Also today the DDs have a celebration for grandparents at school which they've been preparing for for weeks and if DH can't go and get his mother (1 hr each way) they'll be gutted... SHe's the only GP who could go. THen again they would finally be getting their long-awaited baby sister and they would at last stop asking me "When will she be born mummy?" "Is it squeezing you yet mummy?"

Well, things seem to have eased off after cereal bar, toast and mint tea. I suppose walking around and HWB help too, so it's prob. not real labour yet... But dr did say yesterday that cervix effaced and 1cm dilated, so won't be long now...

ParsleyLion1 · 18/01/2012 05:46

Still nothing happening here. I've got until about 2.30 on this dose of propess I think. A bit unsure what happens after that as I've had 2 different stories. I either get 24hrs rest and another dose or 24 hrs rest and an elcs depending on which MW I talk to.
I've managed about 5 hrs sleep tonight which isn't bad for this ward.

ParsleyLion1 · 18/01/2012 05:48

Congrats emmyj Thanks Grin

Oeisha · 18/01/2012 07:21

emmy Congratulations! Thanks Welcome Rafe Bear

Seeing MW today. Officially 40wks...

Had a small rush of fluids lastnight, but probably just a discharge rush again. Some niggly pains but nowt else.

About to go back to bed. Didn't get to sleep very well and woke for an hour, so have only had about 4h...ah well.

Good luck to fish and anyone else that's having exciting stuff happening...!

ghosteditor · 18/01/2012 08:36

Hi ladies!

I'm delighted to announce the birth of our beautiful daughter at 00.50 this morning! She arrived after a very speedy labour - had my first painful contraction at 4.30pm and went into the MW unit when cx were 1-2 mins apart at about 9pm. They only advised I came in because I was bleeding quite heavily, but on examination I was 8.5 dilated! I was still coping ok and immensely cheered by the news so I did the whole thing with TENS, massage, and breathing. Unfortunately at 10cms my BP became dangerously high and I had to leave the MW centre to go down to delivery, but I really didn't care by then! I'm being kept in for suspected PE but my BP is right down now so signs are good. A few stitches but otherwise an easy birth!

I'm overwhelmed and thrilled and enjoying serious snuggle time with my beautiful little girl! Smile

addictediam · 18/01/2012 08:50

Wow ghost that was quick! Congratulations
And congratulations to you too emmyj

Well had another strong Cx at 10.30 last night, then went to bed (after hours of threatening to and being told to by dh!) Woke up at 12.30 with another, quite mild but still long.

Then woke up at 7am realised I hadn't had any more and was quite disappointed, then 7.30 another albeit mild short pain, again at 8.30 and then had another just now. Just put dd down for a nap (or as she likes to think a little play in her cot) I'm going to have a shower, get dressed and maybe go to the garden centre for a walk and are what happens.

shonnomanom · 18/01/2012 08:50

emmy congratulations on the arrival of baby rafe, hope your both well.

And congratulations ghost sounds like a great birth. Hope you and baby ghost don't need to stay in too long. Does your princess have a name yet?

Good luck to everyone today. Looking forward to some more announcements x

Congrats to tig emmy and ghost

Good luck to fish and parsley and everyone else having twinges.

I'm 40+1 now. Lost quite a bit of mucus last night and had stomach and back cramps. Eased off a bit today. We are off shopping in Manchester this afternoon so will be about 40 minutes (if no one else is on the road!) from hospital. Hopefully won't be back tomorrow to share my story of giving birth on the M60.

addictediam · 18/01/2012 10:34
