Moosy- thinking of you today. Hope things go as well as they can and DD3 is ok for you.

FWIW, we took DD aged 2.5 to a funeral last autumn and she didnt make a sound. I think the general somberness of the atmopshere ensured she knew it was the right time to cuddle up to mum and suck her thumb.

Tink- Food poisoning sounds nasty Sad

BB- how are you feeling today Grin

Rugby- keep thinking of you and your new gorgeous Erin. Hope you had a good night at hospital. Has DD1 met her yet?

I have to admit getting a bit misty eyed at thought of DD1 meeting DC2. Anyone else like that? DD is so excited about it Grin

Gingerbreadlatte · 16/05/2012 07:10

LBOT- how are you doing?

BBisTitanium · 16/05/2012 07:38

Moosy hope your friend gets a lovely send off and her family find peace.

Ginger im feeling ok a bit sick this morning but perversely that makes me Smile haha! Other than that just shattered! Not heard from MW office yet, going to ring tomorrow and try an get somewhere!

Re dc2 and dc1 meeting, that is is the bit im most looking forward too! A is so funny at times I cant wait to see his reaction!
How Are you feeling ginger? Will you be finding out the sex?

Tink Sad for FP i had it a few hears back... Horrid!

LBOT hows you?
star?
Ses?
Kayz hope walking has gotten easier sounds a heck of a trot!

Wave to everyone ive missed!

Gingerbreadlatte · 16/05/2012 08:31

BB- know what you mean about nausea being encouraging. I still get odd days of it now and I cant say Im so enthusiastic but it only shows when I've over done it so it tells me to slow down!
Have you told A about baby yet? We wont find out sex, personally I love the anticipation and guessing games that go with it Grin. Will you?

Rugbylovingmum · 16/05/2012 08:59

Morning all

Had a good first night with Erin - she slept well, just waking for a couple of feeds. I'd been a bit sick yesterday, my blood pressure kept dipping and I'd go white and dizzy so DD1 didn't come in but she'll be in later. So far she's been too excited being with grandad to notice DP and I aren't there so who knows whether she'll even notice the baby Grin. I feel good this morning but not really looking forward to getting up and mobile - ouch!

BBisTitanium · 16/05/2012 12:08

Ah rugby lovely news (not about the dizzy obviously) glad erin is settling in well and eek so cute for DD1 to meet her!
I found getting up etc easier once stitch put as thats what pulls.

Ginger we have mentioned it, some days he talks about it (keeps saying baby girl when asked Hmm) will take him to the scan and keep him in the loop but dont know how interested he will be haha!
Yes we will find out the sex but only you guy will know, no one in RL not even family , as Dp has a big thing about it and no one will know the name.. Hes a superstitious sole! Grin

McKayz · 16/05/2012 21:52

Rugby I hope you've had a good day today.

DS2 keeps telling everyone at playschool that I've had the baby. So then I waddle in obviously still pregnant Grin he's so excited. He's tucked up a teddy in the moses basket.

Gingerbreadlatte · 17/05/2012 07:20

Grin thats cute Kayz. He doesnt have long to wait now.

BB- did you manage to keep the the sex to yourselves last time? I'd worry about slipping up with a him or her by accident if I knew!

It must be quite abstract for our little ones at the moment... as its such a long wait. Having said that, my DD is really into it and is telling everyone talking about the baby all the time. I think I will have one helpful helper come November!

Please can I swap bodies with someone.? Grin .. feeling so broken and I'm only 16wks Confused SPD really doing its worst already...really aching and sore in my back. You'd think I was 36 wks by the way Im hobbling about....
Moan over! Grin

BBisTitanium · 17/05/2012 07:30

Aw kayz how cute!
Rugby hope youve had another good night

Ginger we didnt know with A although DP said boy the whole way through, so this time will be different I think we will end up telling people the sex (even though DP doesnt) but definitely wont tell anyone at all the name as its a pet hate of mine to have someone saying your child's name before you have IYSWIM i know its a bit weird!

Aw dd is cute! I have a moan of my own... When i went to docs thurs doc said to call MW yest if had t heard about booking in as they only do this between 10-12 weeks here (was 8 with DS), and said that as my pg was likely to have complications to start things asap... So i ring and speak to the snootiest assistant who basically accuses me of impatience and says i am
To call back today at 8 am... And I may be able to speak to a midwife! I just dont grasp the need for such snottyness! Grr!

lastboxoftampons · 17/05/2012 16:35

Hello everyone!

Rugby so glad to hear that Erin is doing well. Hope you're basking in the glow of new mummyhood! :)

Kayz school run sounds like a nightmare :( That's why I like school busses! Hope you're taking it easy.

BB hooray for sickness...um...sort of. Glad to hear you're feeling well. Why are administrators in surgeries so surly? It's universal! I think they know they are the gateway to your health and are a little bit sick with the power!

Ginger :( So sorry you're not feeling well. But you will have a baby soon, yay! :)

Tink poor you, hope you're over the food poisoning! :(

Ses How are you feeling? You didn't go and have that baby alreayd, have you? Grin

Moosy saw your facebook post about the funeral. Hope you found some closure and got to say goodbye.

Hi star and anyone else who's lurking.

So we all survived my first two days of work. I think nursery will be fine for DS, I just wish it wasn't such a long day. Also, we saw the childminder we considered today - she looks after a friend's little girl on Thursdays - and we hung out a bit this morning. She is so lovely and DS loves her SO much that I'm now beginning to quesiton our decision to send him to nursery instead. I hadn't even asked Sophie if she could take him, but I just knew she was so wonderful that he would get TOO much attention with her, IYSWIM, so we thought nursery was a better option in order to prepare him for September. But today he was holding her hand, showing off for her, cuddling with her...I just know he'd have a wonderful time with her. Oh, well, I guess we could always change our minds if we needed to.

Saw the nurse at my GP yesterday regarding all of the spotting and my short LP and she was really nice. Even though we've only been TTC for 3.5 cycles she is going to do a smear for me and CD3 bloods. She also ordered progesterone testing for CD19 - when I questioned it she did say it was meant to be CD19 regardless of when I ov'd so I'm kind of Hmm not sure what they'll be able to tell on CD19...! Have just added about 28 CBFM's to my watch list on ebay to get in time for next month. Hopefully I can pick one up fairly cheaply. I'm on CD17 and no sign of ov on my chart (think I have a dodgy thermometer) plus am so confused by my CM. I have a really hard time distinguishing between CM and, um, leftovers Blush Sorry if TMI!

Oh, and it wasn't until I got home today that I realized I forgot to brush my teeth before Monkey Music this morning

Oops, didn't mean to write a tome! Hope you're all well

cantmummyhaveabreak · 17/05/2012 18:37

Hello all :) think i am finally back up and running...

RUGBY- massive congrats to you!! Hope you are recovering well :)

everyone else- who the hell isn't PG on here now? I feel like I ought to get cracking faster (not that I can, as I need to wait for the depo to be out of my system- no idea how long that'll take, plus Friends have a move on the cards in the next few months so gonna start once they've moved I think...)

DH had an accident in the car last week, someone went into the back of him. Its so much bloody hassle! Got a nice new hire car, it's stunning! But the garage that has ours in for the repairs is taking their sweet time fixing it! It was taken in on Monday, and last we heard it hadn't even been started yet, that was yesterday! I just want our car back, it's annoying me to be putting more fuel in the hire car when we had just put a full tank in ours to last us till payday! DH is in for physio tomorrow morning too as he has bad whiplash, still playing up real bad a week later!

Luckily we have a nice long weekend though to make me smile :) DH is off fri, sat & sun. So should be fun :)

Will hopefully be able to keep checking back now it's fingers crossed working :)

McKayz · 17/05/2012 20:04

Woooo!!! My pram is finally on the way!!! Should be here Monday after weeks of them telling us it'll be just one more week!!

SESthebrave · 17/05/2012 20:35

LBOT - haha! I'm still here :) Not ready to give birth yet but getting that way and this LO definitely feels in a more ready position than O ever did. Still 10 days til due date so in theory could be another 3 weeks yet!
Glad your first couple of days of work have gone ok. I'm not sure there ever is a perfect decision with childcare but personally, I would have gone the nursery route for exactly the reasons you have. You could always keep your CM friend as an emergency back up. This is what I plan to do with a friend who is a CM. Sometimes she may not be able to help out but at least it gives me another option.

Rugby - hope things are continuing to go well with Erin and that you're recovering ok.

Cant - welcome back! Sorry for DH's accident. How is he doing with work these days? I think you're amazing considering ttc surrrobaby #2. You're a stronger, braver and more generous person than me for certain!

McKayz - yay for pram! Which one are you getting?

BB - I hate to tarnish all with the same brush but GP receptionists have a reputation for a reason! I've dealt with quite a few over the years through work and the friendly understanding ones are a rare breed!

Ginger - I'm sorry but our bodies don't seem to be able to cope quite so well 2nd time around! Is there any particular activity that makes it worse? I know driving aggravated things for me and I adjusted my seat which helped for a bit. May be worth finding an ante natal pilates class?

Moosy - From FB, it sounds like the funeral went as well as it could have. Hope you're doing ok.

tink - are you fully recovered now? When have you got your first proper shift at work?

Sorry for being quiet but mat leave has been a bit full so far and DS has been off nursery all week until today with another ear infection. He's been waking up each night too as well as being full on in the day so I'm knackered! Feel really uncomfortable too - just can't get comfy whether it's walking, sitting or lying.

McKayz · 17/05/2012 21:22

Ses I'm getting the Babystyle Oyster. I love it, I'm getting a lovely purple colour pack too. You can get about 15 colours so when I have another sell it the colour can be changed.

SESthebrave · 18/05/2012 09:16

LOL at "when I have another" Kayz Grin
Another one, two or more? Grin

DS is obviously feeling better as he slept through last night as usual. I feel so much more human as that's not happened for nearly a week. I guess I should try and get used to it though!

Loads of people have told me in the last couple of days that my bump has dropped and they don't think it will be long. Tomorrow DH is away at rugby all day though and will be getting pretty drunk if I know him! This weekend would not be good timing!
MW on Tues at 39+2 so I'd quite like to hang on til then and see what she says. Trying at the same time though to prepare myself that it could be another 3 weeks yet...!

Hope everyone else is ok today :)

Gingerbreadlatte · 18/05/2012 09:25

Morning all

cant- exciting stuff for you. I really think you are amazing to do that for someone know how sick you will feel!

Ses- sorry for poorly DS, glad he is better. but hoooray for bump dropping!! Must dig out your SS... Did you go into labour then have the csect with DS or just go for the csect? (might adjust my guess!)

What is your plan for DS when you go into labour? Also, may I ask what you are doing with his nursery hours whilst you are off and in the early days with new baby? Im thinking about what to do for DD.

McKayz · 18/05/2012 09:29

Ses I think we might have 1 more. I've always wanted 4. But if I can't get over the fear of driving there will be no more. If I could drive now life would be so much easier.

SESthebrave · 18/05/2012 09:30

Morning Ginger!

Depending on time of day, we have my cousin, O's nursery key worker and my mum on standby!
As for nursery, we're reducing him from 4 to 3 days a week for June and then 2 days a week for July & August. In Sept he gets his 15hrs so he's going back up to 3 days per week.
Yes - must dig out SS but I'm on my phone at the moment. Wasn't allowed to go into labour last time. I was a day early but I'd not had any signs of impending labour at all! I need to adjust my guess too as when I made it I thought a CS was inevitable this time.

How are you feeling today?

SESthebrave · 18/05/2012 09:33

Kayz - have you someone you could do driving with initially without the pressure of a formal lesson or test looming?

Ah, I see the SS - thanks Ginger! Will adjust my guess later!

McKayz · 18/05/2012 09:37

I could drive with DH when he's at home. But no one while he's away. Someone I know is a driving instructor so I might have lessons with him once baby is here.

Gingerbreadlatte · 18/05/2012 11:01

Thanks Ses-

So (sorry for questions) when he gets his free 15hrs, will you do 3 full days for him? I am feeling torn on this want to spend the time at home with DD but it will take her up to starting school so dont want to get her out of her brilliant routine or starting school will be so much harder! I was thinking 3 days but maybe shorter hours- cant decide... Hmm

I cannot wait to have more time with her... its massively long overdue :)

Im feeling ok thanks Ses- I'd spent 5hrs on monday and 3hrs on wed sitting in meetings and it didnt do my back any favours.... :)

Feeling some slight movements now which is very exciting! 16wks!

Kayz- hooray for 4 potentially!

SESthebrave · 18/05/2012 11:39

No worries for questions!
He'll do 3 full days to keep the routine but whereas when I was working I'd drop him off before 8am and pick him up 6/6.15pm, I'll drop him off 8.30am and pick up 4.30/5pm to get a bit more time with him.
Will DD be starting school whilst you're still on ML? DS will have about 6mo still at nursery when I return to work. Not great financially to have child are costs for 2 but once we're through those 6mo, we'll be better off. We're considering going down the au pair route but not sure.

Rugbylovingmum · 18/05/2012 12:06

Hi all,

Erin and I came yesterday and I am feeling amazingly well, much better than after my emergency c-section. DD1 has been brilliant - she is very excited about having 'her baby' home and has been giving her lots of gentle kisses and cuddles but having my dad here is fab as he takes her off when she gets overexcited. She was fascinated watching Erin have her milk from mummy's boobies and wanted to 'have a go too' but luckily she was happy with the explanation that the milk is special baby milk and she drinks her own big girl milk . Erin just eats and sleeps so I'm very well rested. Last night she woke for a feed every 2 hours between 11 and 5 but just had a quick 10min feed then went back to sleep and then didn't get up until 8.30pm, I just hope it lasts Wink. I'm just hanging around now waiting for the midwife.

Sorry for lack of personals, I'll be back later.

BBisTitanium · 18/05/2012 12:42

Hi all!

Ses / ginger interesting to read as of course im wondering what to do with A, baby due dec by dates (obv could change) and currently goes to a lovely nursery8-5 three days per week, he get free hours in jan (oct bday) so when baby is here id like him to do 2 days but shorter. My nursery are fab in that they spread the free hours throughout the year rather than sticking to term times so hopefully we can work something between us, im thinking 9-4, as i wont be going back to three days if i can help it, but Equally need to work a bit... And also have the niggling feeling thanks to my mum comments that A may feel pushed out...

Kayz driving is fab has made my life easier but today has shaken me right up!

DS and I nearly died today. Thats the long and short of it. We were travelling down a local A road that i use very frequently. Travelling behind an open back builders type lorry carrying some timber legnths.... Which it turns out weren't secured Angry duly got caught by the crosswind and flew off directly towards my windscreen, thank the lord I managed to pull into the next lane (safely) as it would of hit my windscreen and more than likely come through, and at the very least caused me to crash. Im so proud of myself as ive not been driving long but Angry at the irresponsible idiot. I managed to catch his plate and called the police but doubt much will happen to the idiot. When i got off of the A road i was shaking and stopped and had a bloody big cry! People just dont think!!
