Great result Ses Grin you must be mega relieved!

BB- sorry for miserable holiday and ongoing issues. Hope return trip is straightforward. Did you get a docs appt?

Tink- hooray for the job

Tired, tired tired here. It definately isnt getting better, seems to be worse now- used to be tired but wake up refreshed, now Im waking up feeling worse than before bed! Hmm Which doesnt bode well for the "blooming" phase that I'm hoping will arrive soon! Sorry for moans... I really dont do being pregnant the excitement of babies is building though and Im already overtaken with need to buy things and paint the nursery Blush

Off to see consultant later to talk to her about what to do re my PCOS meds. I was told to keep taking them this time (vs taken off them immediately with the SG) so will see how that goes.

BBisTitanium · 09/05/2012 08:06

Hey ginger, docs is tues. we are leaving as soon as dp and A get back from
Breakfast, I couldnt face it so didn't go haha, I just can't wait to sleep in my own gorgeous bed!

McKayz · 09/05/2012 08:15

BB since when have hot dogs not been allowed?? I've never stopped eating hot dogs and they aren't on any 'bad food' lists.

Gingerbreadlatte · 09/05/2012 08:20

Kayz- think they are only really an issue if bought from street sellers where there is a good chance they arent heated through properly/ cooked properly/ have been left to stand at an ambient temperature for too long. I'd definately avoid those ones.

Think something you'd have at home or at a cafe in a sports centre etc would be fine x

McKayz · 09/05/2012 08:25

Ah right. I've had a look online and it says that they are fine if cooked. So I'm not worried.

Not that I have paid as much attention to the rules this time as I dont like most of the stuff we arent meant to eat. One of my neighbours is French and has 2 year old twins and she ate pâté and blue cheese. She says there aren't any rules like that in France.

SESthebrave · 09/05/2012 08:26

Morning all! So nice to wake up to O's birthday at home and share the excitement and present opening :)

BB - sorry you're leaving your holiday early but I do get where you're coming from. How's A's foot? You must tell me more about this emotion called fun that you associate with labour - not sure I've ever heard it described that before Grin

Ginger - sorry for tiredness. I really hope it starts to improve but if not, could be worth getting your iron levels checked? Are you taking a multivitamin with iron in?

Rugby - eek!! I can't wait for next week!

Hello tink, McKayz, LBOT, Star and anyone else around :)

BBisTitanium · 09/05/2012 08:37

Aw kayz and ginger youve reassured me! I love pâté blue cheese salmon etc but will gladly ditch these now! Glad my hot dog unlikely to poison me haha!

Ginger sorry for tiredness Sad hopefully you will be blooming soon!

Ses happy birthday to little O! Hope he has a wonderful day! A's foot still not right not keen to weight bare but I don't think anything major more he doesn't understand why it hurts so wont put weight on it!

Labour was honestly so much fun for me Grin as soon as gas and air got started I was laughing away etc, infact my 8-8 midwife came and found me the next day to say what a nice day she had! That said though as I ended up with a section, I will elect this time I think if possible!

McKayz · 09/05/2012 09:17

BB lots has changed since we had the first lot of wagon babies. Smoked salmon and blue Stilton are fine to eat too.

McKayz · 09/05/2012 09:24

Smoked Salmon

Stilton

You can even eat sushi now and you certainly couldn't when I had DS2.

Moosy · 09/05/2012 11:19

The cheese thing is if it's unpastuerised, as this can have the bacteria for listeria in. If you get listeria when you're pregnant there's a really high chance (like 90% or something) that you will miscarry. It's not one I'd mess with.

Ses, so glad you haven't had to stay in hospital for O's birthday :o

It's been a bit of a strange weekend here, a friend who is also the mum of one DD1's friends killed herself on saturday night. She'd moved away from here (to the town where NJ has just moved to for those who've noticed her location change on FB!) about a year ago so we haven't seen them as much but it's been a huge shock. DD1 seems to understand quite well and she's been really kind and thoughful with the things she's said about her and her DH and DDs. We're also just rather stunned that it's happened.

BBisTitanium · 09/05/2012 13:49

Blimey moosy shock an a half! Kayz I really didn't know that, with the way my belly/ nausea has been I think I will just avoid anything vaguely risky, as I be so upset if anything went wrong and I already feel risky having had pâté (loads of it!) before I knew.. Really hope Nothing is wrongConfused

We have been home about 40 mins Grin I'm in my pj's with my furry baby on my lap and I'm so blimmen relieved we decided to come home!

BBisTitanium · 09/05/2012 15:40

Ohh random question, can I still have fruit tea? I like the fruity ones (strawberry and loganberry etc) not the herbals but you never know! Can anyone enlighten me?

BBisTitanium · 09/05/2012 20:29

Another waffle from me... I have just spent 3 hours at a and e with poor A at one point he was just howling please doctor mummy Sad and being pregnant daddy had to
Hold him down for X-ray I couldn't even go in... A fun evening not!

tinkcantwaittomove · 09/05/2012 20:59
Grin
McKayz · 09/05/2012 21:12

BB that sounds awful!! How is A? I think fruit teas are fine.

BBisTitanium · 09/05/2012 21:44

That's ok tink glad all going well!

Kayz I did wonder although am sticking to water for the foreseeable haha! A is ok
Terrified me somewhat though as he seemed in such pain, just going to
Keep him dosed up and hope he is back on his feet soon! How are the spots?

McKayz · 09/05/2012 21:45

The spots are getting better. The boy the spots are attached to is driving me nuts. He really misses school.

BBisTitanium · 09/05/2012 21:57

Aww poor guy, it's lovely when they love school, hopefully time will fly and he'll be back! Least they are out of the way before madam arrives, eek not long now and the wagon will be baby filled!

McKayz · 10/05/2012 11:07

Just had my 34 week MW appointment and it was crap Sad

There was a student MW which was fine. Except she did my blood pressure through my sleeve and got 180/120 which sent me into a panic thinking I was about to be put in an ambulance. Normal MW said that as I felt ok, urine was fine and no swelling we would do BP again after they checked baby's heartbeat, positions etc.

So then student MW said head was in my ribs and bum was in my hip and I was measuring 38cm. Then normal MW had a check and she says head is in my hip and bum is in my ribs. So baby is transverse and seems to be ignoring everything I try to get her to budge.

BP ended up at 110/70 which is slightly less terrifying.

I don't mind student MWs at all but I wish they wouldn't scare me like that!!!

Rugbylovingmum · 10/05/2012 12:07

Morning Kayz - that's rubbish but I suppose students midwives have to learn too and you'll know to just ignore her next time Wink. Strangely the student I had a couple of appts ago said my bp was really high too but it was fine when the midwife checked it. She got the position right though and found the hb really quickly.

I had my 38 week appt today (am 38+5) and everything was fine for the section on Tuesday. Baby is head down but still high and starting to turn back to back just like C did. Midwife said she felt like a 'good sized' baby which they always said about C too. She took my final set of bloods so now I just have to go in to speak to the anaesthetist on Monday then on Tuesday I'll go in first thing and unless they are very busy my section will either be at 8.30am or 10.30am. I have to stay in for 48 hrs and will be home Thursday afternoon. It all feels a bit surreal and for some reason I am feeling a bit emotional now Sad. A mix of excitement, nerves and tiredness, I'll be glad when the weekend comes and DP is off.

Tink - I'm glad the induction sessions are going well! Are the other people there nice?

BB - poor A Sad! Hope he is feeling much better today. I think fruit teas are fine (the supermarket ones don't have enough of anything in them to worry about) but I had a fairly lax attitude to eating/drinking during pregnancy Blush. Sorry your holiday was a let down.

McKayz · 10/05/2012 12:17

I think it would have been better if the student MW didn't look utterly terrified too when she said it was so high.

Rugby, I hope it all goes well for you. I imagine it is a bit scary.

Rugbylovingmum · 10/05/2012 13:17

Poor you Kayz, they should make it clear the students are still learning and make mistakes so not to worry until the midwife confirms the results. What would happen if it was the other way round I wonder, if the student said your bp was fine when it was really high. Would the midwife check?

BBisTitanium · 10/05/2012 13:56

Kayz that sounds a bit scary! Glad all is ok hope madam moves!

Rugby eeeek! I think I would be emotional too! I've been thinking ahead jumping the gun as to how hard it will be to get an ELCS but I can be quite stroppy forceful so I think that should work in my favour Grin

I've just peed on another stick haha, positive instantly! Still quite apprehensive but revelling in the excitement a bit too!

Gingerbreadlatte · 11/05/2012 08:21

Morning all

Kayz- that is scary. I know the students need to learn but still! You'd think that learning to take BP readings is something they learn to do very early on though! Hope she gets moving for you - what did Ses do? clearly something that worked !

BB- Grin at more poas -I love that. I think I did about 8 in the end to a) convince myself and b) because I probably wont be doing it again Confused

enjoy the fun !

Rugby- so close....! we better dig out that sweepstake. I can understand feeling emotional about it all... This time next week you will be home cuddling your bundle! Grin
