choccytink · 05/04/2012 20:15

hi ladies Grin
congratulations kay Grin
bb-garden sounds great with vegGrin thinking of u with anniversary
star - good to hear from you
moosy - hi

dd1 who is 6.5 yrs wears glasses all the time has been since age 3 we find thicker frames better not so fragile
having a good easter hol here so far

Moosy · 05/04/2012 22:50

That's odd, we find light thin wiry frames better - she has pretty thick lenses and those plus a thicker frame (little miss naughty ones no less Wink) were too heavy to stay up, her new ones are much lighter and stay on really well. I think they'll be better as she gets older, her nose is so tiny still (she's 5 too) so there's not a lot to hold them up!

AllthatshewantsisanotherBBaby · 06/04/2012 07:20

Star and moosy hi!

Tink thanks its looking good, cant wait until it all flowers and grows! Well done for telling dh too

kayz congrats! Pics ive seen so far are lovely, your happiness just beams out Grin

Well i spent all day yesterday in tears (or at least it feels that way), have the new job but its slightly less money p/h but more days (so more money overall) and in all likelihood less hours / nicer environment, but im scared of leaving my dept pathetic much?! as my manager is my best friend and a few others in my dept im v close too... I shall have to suck it up! A jobs a job in this economy! HR have been very good, so I'm hoping the new role will be good. Means another days nursery fees (expensive) but as of jan DS gets his free sessions and MIL has said about taking him one of the days around pre-school so bill will decrease! I should be really happy but im scared!! big wimp

We are having a lazy morning as ive not been sleeping well at all, then visitors this arvo, tomorrow shopping and cleaning exciting and then a party in the eve (woo!) sunday i think we will see family, and monday too so cant really complain!

Bank hols is an Upside of the new job actually, which is nice! Waiting for the paper work now...i shall be wary of being diddled out of bh's!

Hope everyone is ok hi to all the lurkers Grin

Starshinetiger · 06/04/2012 11:49

Just a quick one. Great news you got the job BB! On the public hols, legally you are entitled to public hols whether you work that day or not. You're holiday entitlement should be calculated by taking the standard hol entitlement at your work, adding no. Of public hols (in a normal year that's 8), then multiply by your %FTE, e.g. You wor 50% of full time hours and people normally get 24 days plus public hols, it would be (24+8)x50%=16, so you get 16 days hol, if you normally work on a day that the public holiday falls, then you take that day from your hols entitlement, other than that you take your holiday entitlement as agreed with your manager. You probably already know that but your comment made me think you might have been diddled out of public hols to date.
Enjoy the long weekend all - DH now off for 8 days - yay!

AllthatshewantsisanotherBBaby · 06/04/2012 15:06

Star thanks for that, it would seem i have been! Not going to kick up a fuss until i have too though but will bear that in mind Smile

Kayzr · 07/04/2012 11:07

Just a quick post. Just had a 4D scan. Baby is awkward and we need to go back at 3. But they've worked out she's already almost 5lbs at just 29 weeks. I'm terrified at what it means for giving birth as they think she'll be at least 11lb if not more Sad

choccytink · 07/04/2012 15:32

kay - i wouldnt worry about weight
good luck with next scan later

AllthatshewantsisanotherBBaby · 09/04/2012 08:58

Kayz they said same of A, he was only 7 3and a half born, im not sure they are accurate, we had bought all 0-3 my mum had to go buy him a load of clothes! Try not to worry. Hope everyone has had a nice easter!

choccytink · 09/04/2012 13:58

hope all had a gd easter sun [bugrin]
we had a lovely time at my mums girls enjoyed choccy, egg hunt

McKayz · 09/04/2012 18:13

Argh, we are having baby name dilemma!! We have been set on calling DD Rosalie for the past 14 weeks. But we are both feeling less than 100% sure at the minute.

The other choice is Rhiannon which we absolutely love!

It is made worse as the boys call the bump Rosalie and always talk about the baby by using it too.

HELP!!! [bugrin]

choccytink · 09/04/2012 20:43

both names are lovley
congratulations on your wedding
luv new name

Gingerbreadlatte · 09/04/2012 21:00

Congratulations Kayz. Love the new Mc name :)

I love Rhiannon - someone at college had that name and its great. NN of Rhi, or Anna maybe :) ... I wouldnt worry about the boys, im sure they will adjust quickly when baby comes :)

Hi Tink

Hi everyone else [busmile]

Gingerbreadlatte · 11/04/2012 07:09

tumble weed here...... where is is everyone..?

SESthebrave · 11/04/2012 09:15

Morning Ginger and lurkers!

All ok here. 2 weeks and 2 days left at work and I get a briefing on a restructure tomorrow Hmm From the rumour mill I don't think it's going to affect me and my role very much directly but there will be some of my friends affected.

BB - glad you at least know what's happening with work now and you have an option that can work. Not easy dealing with all the change though is it?

Star - good to hear from you. Enjoy your time with DH off.

Kayz - huge congrats! The photos on FB look beautiful and like you had a great day. As for baby's weight, I sometimes wonder why they estimate as I've never come across an estimate that was particularly accurate. It just makes you worry more which doesn't achieve anything!
I like both your names but if pushed for a preference, I'd probably go for Rhiannon. DS is convinced our LO will be called Sam (the fact his key worker at nursery is called Sam and she tried to reassure me that she'd not primed him made me a bit Hmm ) but I'm sure he will get used to either Peter or Aoife.

Baby here is pretty active and I think still spinning from transverse to head down. Not like with DS who I couldn't feel moving quite like this, so I'm still hopeful of my VBAC (well as long as it's relatively straight forward and minimal pain - I don't ask much do I?!)

choccytink · 11/04/2012 09:54

hi ses Grin
all sounds gd with you

all gd here had agreat time with mhy parents for easter sun they kept dd1 back today
it hasbeen nice just with dd2

Gingerbreadlatte · 12/04/2012 06:53

Morning

Ses- great to hear from you. I wondered how you were doing. Hope the job restructure update is ok and not something for you to worry about esp so close to your mat leave.

I cant believe you only have 2 a bit wks left! :) Wriggly baby sounds good :) Fingers crossed for the VBAC.

Any more update on the middle east move?

Hi Tink

:)

All good here but so so so tired.... Im hoping im on the home stretch of the tiredness and feeling yuk (on and off thankfully) - 11wks today..... ! Scan is wk on Monday....

McKayz · 12/04/2012 07:17

Morning,

Ses, I hope the meeting goes well. I can't believe how quickly your pregnancy has gone. Well for me anyway I doubt it has for you.

Ginger, how are you? Are you getting much sickness?

I keep wondering how Rugby is. I think she knew the rough date of her CS and it must be about a month away.

Hello Tink. How are you? Smile

I'm seeing MW today about my options for birth. Though baby always seems to be breech. I have a head in my ribs and kicks into my bladder.

Hope everyone is ok. Bumps if you're lurking I hope DD2 is well. Smile

McKayz · 12/04/2012 07:18

Ooops x-post Ginger. Teaches me to start posting and then go do something Grin

Rugbylovingmum · 12/04/2012 10:30

Hi all,

sorry I haven't posted in ages, I've been lurking but never find time to reply.

Kayz - CONGRATULATIONS!!! The wedding pics are beautiful and you both look so happy Grin. I'm fine - thanks for asking.

Ginger - here's hoping the ms and tiredness are on their way out. I can't believe you are 11 weeks already Shock. I hope you have a great scan next week and get some lovely pics.

BB - how are you feeling about the work situation now it's had some time to sink in?

Ses - hooray for finishing in 2 weeks. I hope the restructure doesn't affect you and you have a relaxing time until ML starts.

Tink - the new house sounds very exciting!

We've been having a crazy few days Grin. My DB and SIL came to stay for a few days with my nieces so we've had a very overexcited 3yr old, 2yr old and 1 yr old running madly around the house. They've all had a fantastic time and have been very good with very few tantrums or arguments but the adults are exhausted! Amazingly they all slept in the same room so there was lots of squealing and giggling before they managed to go to sleep but they slept through okay - hopefully that's a good sign for DD and the new baby sharing a room eventually. They left this morning so I'm hoping for a quiet restful day today.

DD has done very well with potty training - we started 2.5 weeks ago and only had 2 accidents, 1 at toddler group and 1 at nursery but she's been totally dry for 2 weeks Grin. She still has a nappy on for bed but that's it. I'm so proud of her!

I'm 34+4 today and saw the midwife this morning. Everything looks good, baby is head down and I'm measuring 32cm. She's asked me to think about what I'd do if I go into labour before my c-section is booked (15th May) but agrees it's not likely. I'm still very achey at night and struggling to get a good sleep but feeling really well otherwise and luckily not too sore during the day once I'm up and moving. Just 4.5 weeks to go!

McKayz · 12/04/2012 14:10

Quick post as my Internet is knackered.

Just had MW appointment. I have to see a consultant and have another scan to compare the sizes on both.

I said I am happy to go to the MLU instead of a homebirth. MW said that they don't induce or do CS usually. They don't like the babies to get too big but if I am happy to try naturally then it should be fine. I am measuring 34cm today though and I am only 30 weeks.

It might all be pointless though as baby is breech. She's been breech since my 28 week appointment. I alway feel like I have a head in my ribs. So I need her to move!

AllthatshewantsisanotherBBaby · 12/04/2012 18:11

Ses good news about Home stretch bet you are ready for a bit of time off! Any more news on the move?

mckayz love your new name and love rhiannon too, hopefully baby will twist around in time!

Rugby glad you are well sounds a lovely week! Im getting my head round it now thanks starting to do bits for new role, and am starting to think it will be ok! Not ling to go for you now how exciting!

Ginger i cant believe how fast things are going for u!

Tink sounds like you had a good easter!

I am back to focusing on wedding baby plans here, dp and I have discussed it and we arent going to put off TTC for the wedding. As we struggle so much anyway.
Also need to get back on diet, as with all the stress ive pigged out Sad

Starshinetiger · 12/04/2012 22:46

Wow Ses, only 2.5 weeks left in work - fab and exciting all in one. Still feels like only recently you got your honk to me! Sorry for the work kerfuffle. Hope you can still go peacefully off on mat leave and your friends are not affected. Did giggle at DS and his name choice - is a bit like when DS' TA went on mat leave before Easter - if she asked the children what they thought the baby should be called a lot of them offer up their own name - obviously your DS realises his sibling can't have the same name as him, you or DH so he opts for the next closest person Grin
Rugby - ditto re. Your due date. So exciting for more Wagon round 2 babies Grin Yay for DD's potty training - sounds fab, what a clever girl!
Ginger - 11 weeks already! Seems to be flying by for me but bet not for you. So excited for your scan.
McKayz - love the new name and new potential name for baby. Don't worry - the boys will adjust very quickly. Hope all the appointments go well - she's got 10 weeks to shift, so plenty of time yet Smile
Sorry, on phone and forgotten what else I've read. DS had eye appt today - doesn't need specs, but does need MRI scan.... Dr was very reassuring and said there is a minuscule schance of anything being there, but they need to rule it out because of his flickering eye. My sensible part is not worrying, but my worry-head is being a bit troublesome. Ah well. Am not going to tell my Mum because she'll just worry. My babies are certainly getting their money's worth from the NHS!
Right - trying to get an early night. Am looking forward to the forthcoming activity on this thread over next couple of months with all these impending due dates Grin

choccytink · 13/04/2012 17:27

i now have an iphone 3gs Grin
only had a blackberry curve before
is so cool especially the games Grin

lots of chat

kay - glad mw appmnt went ok good luck for baby turning
ginger - not long till your scan Grin

rugby sounds like u have been busy sounds nice. not long for you#

baby- good luck with all ur plans

star-sure mri will befine hard not to worry

we r all gd here

SESthebrave · 13/04/2012 19:48

Oh am I tired this evening! Didn't sleep brilliantly last night and done loads of driving today with work. If only O was as tired as I was - I can hear DH struggling to get him to settle. Dinner then bed for me tonight!
Maybe 4.5 days at work a week and looking after a toddler is a bit much at 34 weeks!

tink - I love my iphone :)

Star - great that DS doesn't need specs. Sounds like MRI is a formality but I can understand your natural worry.

BB - great that you nad DP have had a chat about ttc and wedding. Full steam ahead and fx for exciting times on both counts :)

McKayz - plenty of time for her to move yet but get a birthing ball out and gently bounce on it :)

Rugby - great to hear from you. Well done to you and DD with the potty training!

Ginger - 11 weeks, wow! Look forward to hearing about your scan :)

Dubai - DH and I had another good chat and it seems all he wanted me to say was that I didn't want to go as I didn't want to move away from my friends and family. I hadn't said this directly as I thought it was unfair and selfish but it was frustrating DH that I wasn't being honest with him. Anyway, I think we're sorted now and staying put :)

Work restructure - all ok. A few people that have taken redundancy but no one I knew particularly well. My role was always safe and in fact as the next level of management has been "redistributed", it now looks like my role is a slightly higher level than it was (obviously no pay rise though!) The new structure starts quickly in a week's time so I will have one week of the new structure and then be on ML. A little bit difficult as I've been told who my new line manager is but have never met the guy and really want to be able to make an impression (in a good way!) before I go on ML.

McKayz · 14/04/2012 13:27

Tink get Draw Something. It's great fun Grin

The MW rang this morning to say the consultant wanted to rush me through for another growth scan. So I have to go on Monday and then go see him afterwards. It's all a bit of a pain as I need to find someone to get the boys from school or go to hospital on my own.
