Morning all, thanks for the link. I still cant work out how to 'unhide' so I can f8nd the thread without clicking on links.

Ribflare is really bad again today, baby still not engaged so guess going to have a few more sleepless nights with it.

Welcome all the newbies and thoes returning.

Right I need to go food shopping this morning and so should probably go and get in the shower now.

Oh and yes to craving carbs and protine. I cooked some mini saussage rolls last night for dd and accidently ate them all Blush I'm just thinking i would really like some cheese on toast or garlic bread or, or, or... maybe food shopping this morning isnt such a great idea after all! :o

laylasmummy09 · 06/01/2012 07:17

Milkyway welcome, its good to see you here,
Missree I hope its started back up for you that must be soo frustrating,
Parsley yay for last day I hope its a good one for you,

DD is up DH is snoring but he has fracture clinic this AM so he will be up soon, I'm feeling a bit rough this morning after yet another rubbish nights sleep, my own fault for napping yesterday Hmm
Have a good day everyone x

peanuts777 · 06/01/2012 07:57

Morning all,
Another fine night's sleep Hmm

missree how disappointing. I read your post in the wee hours and was keeping everything crossed for you - with the exception of my knees of course...
parsley what's ML? Sorry Blush

this is the link for the pricey but apparently worth it belly binding torture contraption as promised. What say ye?

Also, do I need to get Sky or Freeview or something..........I am trying to think of anything to make resting post ELCS a little bit more feasible.
Have a super day all

peanuts777 · 06/01/2012 07:59

Sorry this

Moobee · 06/01/2012 08:07

Laylasmummy - your poor DH and what bad timing! Is it a bad fracture?

Peanuts - I have Virgin TV which is great but a couple of boxsets would be just as good and possibly cheaper. Probably wise to get freeview as the changeover will occur soon.

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 06/01/2012 08:46

Moobee - have disabled posts on my wall as you mentioned - great way to stop people stealing thunder, though it doesn;t stop them tagging you in a post on their own wall I suppose... However I had a situation like Milly's where my mum was going frantic trying to get hold of me to tell me my cousin had died before I read it on Facebook Some people...

Bah, my mum has gone home and I miss her. We got lots done, inc. cleaning out the freezer so there was a whole empty drawer, then filling it with homemade ready meals... as long as you like the Hobson's choice of lasagne or lasagne... with the odd shepherd's pie. I'm really going to have to make some curries or stews and freeze those too or Dh will never touch lasagne again!

Looking forward to meeting up with Ghost today - two heavily pregnant women out in public should make a few onlookers nice a nervous and I do so love to trap them in a lift with me, so this should be twice as much fun! :) What can I say, if I'm not going to go into labour then I will get my kicks where I can!

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 06/01/2012 08:47

PS - I love my SKY+ but atm I have no TV at all because this stupid wind has done something to the satellite they'd better fix it soon, I'm missing all my programmes being recorded...

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 06/01/2012 08:51

Oh - and the Belly Bandit thing looks great, but I'm just going to wear the sexay tubular bandage the physio gave me for the PGP - it ought to suck in all that section and perform a similar job, plus I already have one and it's free. And yes, I am eating an insane amount of food atm - managed a whole Pizza Express Romano size pizza alone yesterday and could have had another half at least I reckon! Am wondering if we ought to rethink baby's name and call him Romano, since I've eaten so much pizza this pregnancy!

laylasmummy09 · 06/01/2012 08:57

Don't really know how bad it is yet moobee we will find out more later, all he know is its the 5th metatarsal (sp?) DH's first thought was that's the one wayne rooney broke, he needs to go back for another cast because they put a temperary one on on wednesday he is pretty useless on his crutches and only moves to go to the bathroom but I'm hoping that will change when he gets a smaller cast, awful timing I'm a little terrified at the prospect of looking after him DD baby and myself post birth what a pain Blush

ghosteditor · 06/01/2012 09:11

Layla that's really bad timing with his crutches! I fractured my ankle in March and was in a removable boot with crutches for a while, but I got very speedy with the crutches very quickly! Your DH needs to practice using them as soon as his treatment is decided (i.e if he has a permanent cast or not). Get someone to check the size/fit of crutches as it can make a big difference, and tell him to remember that it's bad foot first down the stairs. If he was injured at work, can he get private physio? That helped me loads.

And I'm afraid for him that just-given-birth beats broken-tiny-toe-bone any day Grin

fishandlilacs · 06/01/2012 09:21

Morning,

Firstly I am so glad you guys enjoyed the autocorrect link. It was just the tonic I needed yesterday.

Had some good cramps through the night and I have put DH on "peach" alert (not quite amber :)) but I seriously doubt this is anything yet again. I have had so many episodes of false starts and hopeful niggles that I think when it does happen i'll probably end up ignoring it and birthing on the loo or something. Did anyone see central news yesterday about a baby born at home in her bathroom in about 30 minutes? www.itv.com/central-east/grand-child-delivery57018/ It must have been scary but I wouldn't mind if it happened that way as long as I wasn't alone!

Ugh RL capsules repeating on me-they taste gak.

I'm off to write a shopping list and plan some dinners for next week. Chippy tea tonight for us methinks though.

fishandlilacs · 06/01/2012 09:24

i am unreasonably angry at having had an email from pampers all about "your newborn" I originally signed up with them when my EDD was 4th Jan. Don't you think it's dangerous of them to make such assumptions.

BigHotMama · 06/01/2012 09:51

Fish, I get emails from pampers saying 'now your baby is 3 months old bla bla bla' think they need to sort their stupid system out! And still haven't had my free pack of nappies has anybody else?

Got a long list of jobs to do today so that's sitting on my ass eating chocolate all day off the cards Grin

Anyone else got morning sickness again? For the past few weeks I have been sick every morning, never had this with ds.

blueeyedmonster · 06/01/2012 10:14

Hi, can I sneak back in ladies? I have not posted in such a long time but have been lurking a lot lately.

Due on the 18th and although i'm not quite fed up enough yet to want her out I really want to stop being ill (have been unwell a lot this time) so maybe she should start having eviction notices now!

Congrats on all the births so far.

FrillyMilly · 06/01/2012 10:20

Cakes I've just been messing with my Facebook settings and you ask for tags to be approved by you before they go on your wall. If anyone steals my thunder I will kick them.

Been to the midwife for 38 week appointment and baby is engaged. She didn't write how much but said he is engaged. Been having strong Braxton hicks (contractions?) since 5 this morning about 20 minutes apart. Hoping it's a good sign that things are getting moving but wont get my hopes up til they get close and stronger.

addictediam · 06/01/2012 10:24

Ohcrapohcrapohcrapohcrap

Last night i started trickling, I thought baby was just on my bladder and i was wetting myself. It carried on all night (each time I got up to use the toilet, not while i was lying down) and now all morning too. It's not my bladder is it?

Dh is in birmingham today and has some important meetings he has to attend. All friends who live around here are either working today, moving house or gone away for the weekend. Dm lives in wsm and has db (4yo) at school to pick up, ddad is a fireman and 'oncall' today so cant help with db and mil lives in wolverhampton, and is voulenteering at her local hospital today so can't be gotten hold of. Dh can't get home till 8pm.

Contractions are getting stronger and I have lots of pain in my back (bump is back to back, so back labour is to be expected)

Im going to end up giving birth at home on my own with only 14mo dd to help aren't I!?

Did I mention ohcrapohcrapohcrapohcrap

fishandlilacs · 06/01/2012 10:29

addicted ok calm down deep breaths-you could have long time yet. Stay calm. Poor you. It's always the worse day. Can i help in anyway? My dh is home this aft at 1.30. I'm closest so i could come over.

Oeisha · 06/01/2012 10:30

Bloody hell! I have an early night and you lot go mental! Grin

moobee Part of my worry with my BP is that the PE guidance it 140/90 OR a 15/15 increase (especially distolic [so the /90] increase accodring to the early base)...as mine is, and yours by the looks, yet as my urine is always neg they probably now thin I'm being hysterical (and so does DH). I'm not, just concerned and feeling "unwell" and that somethingn isn't quite right...but I get asked "is this your first" and then get the "ahhh...". Hmm Any signs of epigastric pain or headache and get re-checked... In fact on the PE thread people are pushing me to have a liver function test...as some of them haven't presented with severe swelling or proteines until last-minute. Just not sure waht to do now.

Welcome back buzzy and milkyway and blueeyesmonster

tig I'm having similar feelings about my parents. Will have to though, as DH's parents are lovely and we wouldn't mind tellign them when I'm in labour...also an m5 journey for them (though it's 5h)...maybe it's the road that's leading to insanity?

milly Similar FB experience here. We found put BIL was in hospital with crush injuries from a tree falling on him, thanks to SIL (understandably) not really being with it and just wanting to update those that knew. ILs decided that as we were on holiday (like, 3h away), they didn't want to ruin it...so didn't tell us...we were pretty cross TBH, he could have died FFS and they "didn't want to conern us." Hmm

laylasmummy Oh dear...poor DH. Though mighty inconvenient of him. I hope you've scolded him suitably.

Oh, consultant today (good thing it wasn't an am appt). No doubts another person looking at me going "and exactly WHY are you here???"...oh well.

DH has taken the day off to take me...so we're combinig with a supermarket trip (and a baffled and confused me, still DON'T WANT BLOODY FOOD).

Head's ok this morning... Confused. See how long that lasts...

Good luck to anyone with anythign exciting happening. Very Envy now in many ways. Loving having her in there, just want her out so I can have a squishy squiddle to be with, that and DH is getting frustrated now.

Karmanna · 06/01/2012 10:38

Morning all!

And welcome to all the newbies and people returning. I was worried thread would become a bit empty as lots of babies are starting to appear so it's good that people are joining and rejoining! :)

I woke up this morning with sharp stabbing pains up my bottom and got quite excited, but pain has now gone and just having the odd BH. This waiting game is so frustrating, and my due date is not even till next week - I'm going to be very grumpy if I go overdue!

Re facebook, it's something I've been very wary about as I can't access the internet on my phone so I can't make an announcement until I'm at home with Duckie. I'm not too worried about telling our parents as they're not very active on facebook, but there are a few close friends I'd like to tell, although one of them is very keen on being the first to know and share everything (think she sees it as a sport) - she's the kind of person who will wake up at 3am just to be the first person to wish someone a happy birthday on their wall. Even if I can make sure she doesn't start a post on my wall, she would be very likely to tag me in a post and we have a lot of mutual friends and we really want to make our own announcement. We might just have to gag her - I hope she doesn't take offence but I will be most miffed if she gets in there before us!

Sorry for long rant! I hope everyone has a lovely day!

ghosteditor · 06/01/2012 10:39

Moobee and oeisha, if it's any consolation I was told very confidently by my MW that the concern with blood pressure was if they saw an increase of more than 20 (esp diastolic) throughout the whole pregnancy they start to worry. I have had readings over 140/90 and they just checked again, or the next day, plus bloods and urine. And I don't have PE. Even my first reading was high - 140/70 I think - so they haven't been alarmed, though I have said frequently that I don't customarily have high BP. I know this because they always check with the pill. My latest reading was 125/60 though!

Anyway hope that helps some and hope you're both doing ok. Obviously it depends on the progress if your own BP.

Anyway, off to meet cakes for a cuppa!

Oeisha · 06/01/2012 10:39

sorry to x-post addicted EEEK! If needs be call an ambulance...they have entonox on board usually if nowt else... FX

addictediam · 06/01/2012 10:44

I'm calm now. The problem is I have gbs so if it is my waters going, I need ab's asap and baby needs to come out.

I've spoken to dh who will come home if I need him to and dm who has talked alot some sense into me! Its a very slow trickle so she's not in immediate danger, it could just be my bladder it might not be my waters. I'm going to empty my bladder, have a shower (still havent gotten around to it!) Put in a new pad and see what happens over the next couple of hours. If im still trickling when dh gets home ill call triage, unless anythings happens before that and i can take dd to lovely cm lady accross the road and get taxi/ambulance to hospital. Dh is also going to rearrange important meetings and come home asap.

Now start with shower.

Oeisha · 06/01/2012 10:45

That's my problem ghost mine IS up by 20-24 diastolic and 20 systolic...yet I get the feeling they're thinking I'm being hysterical...I'm not just concerned/curious... (and mighty frustrated with a permenant headache that just gets worse randomly) they're focusing on there being nothing in my pee! Most of the increase has been in last 3 weeks, just when the headaches have got a lot worse...so, I really don't know what to think.

Enjoy your days cuppa ghost and cakes...sounds like a Muppets solicotirs firm "Ghost & Cakes"...hehehe.

Karmanna · 06/01/2012 10:46

Ooh, addicted that's very exciting. Sods law about the timing!! I hope you're ok and that you can find someone to come around and stay with you. If not, call the hospital. xxx

Oeisha · 06/01/2012 10:48

Oh FX for you addicted. Though I'd ring triage now and see and see what they think re: GBS. I think the ideal timing is about 4h before delivery for the antibiotics??? If it's a jab, there's a chance a some HCP could come administer and levae you to it??
