Mmmm peshwari nan dipped in curry sounds amazing! May have to make do with toast n marmalade instead! < off to raid kitchen cupboards >

Welcome buzzygirl I'm hoping for a VBAC too! But not due till 25th, so I'll probably be one of the last to pop on here!

moobee very envious of your shopping trip sounds like you got some lovely stuff!

peanuts777 · 05/01/2012 22:01

Ah! Just wrote a post and lost it!?

rednosedreindeerhead · 05/01/2012 22:01

welcome newbies and returnees!

and congrats worm how lovely!!!

fryn hope you're feeling ok - have sent you messages on FB in case you didn't get notified again!!

i have had my first meeting with the new independent mw's who have completely taken over my care - amazing. had all my antenatal checks on the sofa with a cup of tea (other than weeing on the stick, obvs...i went to the bathroom for that bit Grin) This is how all women should get their care. From Fryn's experience today it sounds like our hospital hasn't even got any beds for antenatal or postnatal stuff now so I'm over the moon it's all sorted. Hopefully I now won't have to go to hospital or the clinic again, fx.

got serious peshwari naan envy..

oh and while I'm here is anyone else experiencing a feeling like palpitations/adrenalin rush/caffeine rush every so often - i think coinciding with bump tightenings, which i guess are HBs? it's quite disconcerting...

peanuts777 · 05/01/2012 22:10

Laylasmummy thanks for your lovely post.

Wanted to ask: anyone heard of/tried a belly bandit?
My friend had a baby 4 weeks ago, swears by it and quite frankly looks as though she has never had a baby let alone had one 4 weeks ago!?
3rd baby and I can't see how I'm going to get back into my jeans and willing to try ANYTHING, but preferably not with that price tag?!

fishandlilacs · 05/01/2012 22:14

Welcome back Buzzgirly Vbac here too if all goes to plan due on wed next week but have ELCS booked on 18th-jhave a feeling it's going to be then as babe seems very comfy where he is.

parsley nope didn't manage the walk-dropped dd off in car this morning-the walk from carpark across the road to school across the playground and back fair nearly killed me-hips were in agony and I couldn't catch my breath. Didn't bother this aft.

red thats sounds so lovely-thats the way it should be done.

FrillyMilly · 05/01/2012 22:14

Congratulations worm. Hope you recover quickly!

Hello all the new people. Feel like I've been here forever but I'm quite new. Wish I had found this group earlier on as it's great.

Been having HBs all day. Had one before that was as painful as a full blown contraction and felt loads of pressure in my bottom. Got bad lower back pain too. Going to be a long night I think.

fishandlilacs · 05/01/2012 22:21

damnyouautocorrect.com/15802/the-15-funniest-autocorrects-from-december-2011/

This was just what i needed. Wiping tears of laughter off my face as we speak. Brilliant.

tigana · 05/01/2012 22:22

apparently mil was midway through texting me a 'good luck in labour' msg earlier today - on the basis that she had phoned DH and got his answerphone...so naturally assumed we were all systems go! Hmm. Luckily dh called her back before she hit 'send' Grin

FrillyMilly · 05/01/2012 22:33

Do people really think we won't tell them when we are in labour or when we have the baby? I think my mum was the second person I told once labour started after DH. He told his mum and dad too. He didn't bother updating them during the long boring labour (he kept my mum up to date) so they phoned the maternity ward!!!!

I'm am absolutely dreading people announcing it on Facebook before I have had chance to tell all close friends and family.

peanuts777 · 05/01/2012 22:36

fish thank you. DH and I just checked out the link and are weak from laughter........Hysterical

Moobee · 05/01/2012 22:59

I wasn't going to tell them FrillyMilly :) I was worried about them phoning the labour ward. I was going to tell them when baby popped out but DH said he'll text close family and send them updates (and strict instructions not to phone ward).

(I hope) I've dealt with the Facebook thing by disabling my wallposts (somewhere in settings). Only I can write on my wall now. This means people can respond to my posts and statuses, but not start one of their own for me. I'm hoping this will stop the Facebook problem! I had a similar issue which made me take that step - I told my parents they could tell family I was pregnant post scan. I hadn't told friends or people at work yet though and a cousin wrote 'congrats on the pregnancy!' on my wall. Quite annoying.

supadupapupascupa · 05/01/2012 23:02

fish OMG!!!!! both DH and I had tears down our faces!!!! Have shared the love on FB Grin

laylasmummy09 · 05/01/2012 23:03

fish that link is fantastic Grin don't know if I will get to sleep now though I keep giggling to myself randomly.

tigana · 05/01/2012 23:03

ah...well, we're not going to tell parents when I go into labour - to avoid the constant requests for updates/risk of them driving down M5 for 2 hours to doorstep us on the dleivery suite. But will tell them as soon as baby is here... unless, y'know, it slips our mind

FrillyMilly · 05/01/2012 23:06

Oooh that's a good idea Moo. Think I will be altering my Facebook settings tomorrow. I have a friend who had someone announce her baby arrival on her Facebook wall and it really upset her. I also have a cousin who puts everything on Facebook (massive attention seeker) so I found out on there a relative had died. She literally put it on as soon as she found out but not all the family had been told yet.

shonnomanom · 05/01/2012 23:14

hehe Thanks oiesha and glad your emails have worked, fx everyone remembers what they read when the time comes.
And yes, the milk coming through/pain in the armpits is possible. In some women the breast tissue can go that far. My friend found a lump in her arm pit and was surprised when told it was breast cancer. It was benign luckily.

missR thats sounds painful but positive, fx it brings on labour for you

fish the sweep I had when expecting Dd was successful. Was told at the time that if its going to work it will be within 48 hours. My waters burst 47hours after the sweep. Dd was born 14hours later.
This time however, well it didnt work last week and I doubt yesterdays will work. I think there is a lot of factors involved in making it work. Your body has to be ready, the baby has to be ready and the technique of the person doing it. iykwim

Congratulations worm!!!

Welcome Newbies and *Returnees!!

peanuts what is this miracle thing you speak of? Is it like spanx, that kind of idea. Im too tired to google right now.

Oooh please stop talking about food! Every food mentioned today and im like 'oh I want that, where can I get some?!' Contemplated a 35min drive to get some freshly made sugar dohnuts this afternoon!!

After 56hours my parents and the rest of the village have electricity again!!! The village even made the news because of it Smile Apparently Scottish Power pay out £25 for every 12hours without power so thats good news.

We went to see my sister and the twins tonight. Baby Shaun was 5lbs 12oz and baby Olivia was 6lbs 9oz. They are gorgeous!!! Everyone is doing well. And my bump even kicked out at Shaun which was cute. Didnt want to take any sparkle of my sisters day today but tomorrow if anyone dares to comment on this baby not being here yet then they better be prepared for my scorned pregnant lady come back Angry

Such a busy day on here, iv written a novel. Sorry if I missed anyone. Time for bed me thinks...

peanuts777 · 05/01/2012 23:19

Night night sho I shall find you a link and work out how to post it tomorrow morning

peanuts777 · 05/01/2012 23:25

Trying to unwind and switch off but still giggling to myself about the damnyouautocorrect thang!

MilkywaysAndBump · 06/01/2012 01:58

Hello all! Another "returnee" here! Hope you don't mind! After 4 mc's couldn't really bring myself to join you ladies properly, but everything has seemed to work out fine this time and I'm due on the 8th! Really excited to meet my little man - it all seems a bit surreal!

Had a day of backache on Wednesday and called DH back from work, but by 8pm everything died down :(...Hoping this baby comes with the full moon! Only a few more days left!

MissRee · 06/01/2012 03:42

Ohhhh it seems to have started... rather painful tightenings that feel like they're right up high in my fanjo, around my back and I can defo feel them moving bump too. Haven't timed any yet as I'm trying to rest through them.

Moobee · 06/01/2012 04:54

MissRee, how exciting! I have fingers crossed for you. Hope you manage to get some rest.

Hi Milkway, welcome! It's great having lots of new (and returning) people again. :) I'm due on the 8th too, I like the idea of them arriving with the full moon. I've been secretly hoping for the 10th.

MissRee · 06/01/2012 06:40

All stopped again now, very frustrating Sad

ParsleyLion1 · 06/01/2012 06:47

Hopefully it will start again missree Sad

Morning ladies Grin

Last day today before ML Grin

Welcome back milkways

Sounds like it's just as well you didn't commit yourself to the whole walk fish

ParsleyLion1 · 06/01/2012 07:00

Warning - anybody who has not read fish's link yet. Do not - I repeat DO NOT - read in a public place. I've had to stop reading it as crying and wheezing with suppressed laughter on a packed train carriage is getting me weird looks Blush the more I know I can't laugh the more it makes me cry!

supadupapupascupa · 06/01/2012 07:03

morning! i'm never awake this early but saw my parents off on their travels this morning.
