Well done worm and how lovely and envy-making Grin

tigana · 05/01/2012 20:27

Congratulations worm. Thanks.

Thanks for the sweep thread fish, some nice positive stories on there to give me hope. Just lost a bit more mucous plug (such a glamourous process this) so feeling more optimistic.

We had dinner in the pub tonight. DH suggested I go for the beef madras, given that hot curries is supposed to help labour along... went with lasagne (I'm a sucker for a good lasgne).

fishandlilacs · 05/01/2012 20:49

bhm yes. i am craving high carb, high protein. I could happlily make myself bangers and mash right now even though I have had dinner.

I watched heston's new series last night and i am obsessing about steak as well.

I am currently tucking into ham and cream cheese rolled up into sausages-trouble is aI can scarf a whole pack of ham in no time.

sara and laylasmummy I am a newby too, it's amazing seeing how these girls roll! I wish I'd joined earlier but probs with babe made me too superstitioius to join. I'm here now though, feeling more positive and what a great time time to become part of it.......

supadupapupascupa · 05/01/2012 21:06

i am munching on a peshwari naan lovingly picked up by hubby from the local indian restaurant. they included a pot of cream to dunk it in too! that's my munchies for the night sorted Grin

welcome newbies Grin

peanuts777 · 05/01/2012 21:11

No labour pains but my boobs feel like they're going to explode this evening.....

Whoever it was Blush who said they felt strange pulsing last night like babe's heart beat. I had exactly the same too and was completely freaked out sat night and didn't sleep a wink. Asked my Ob today and it's entirely normal. It's the baby's maturing nervous system apparently and is absolutely nothing to worry about. Hope that helps

Moobee · 05/01/2012 21:13

Congratulations nanny, giraffe and wormshuffler! Thanks wormshuffler, Megan is beautiful. I'm looking forward to seeing more photos and hearing stories of how the births went. :)

Hope all is well with greenlady too.

Welcome Sara and laylasmum (hope I have everyone's names right - I'm writing on my phone from memory).

Gosh, it's all go with the HB group today!

I've spent the day shopping in bicester village. I thought we'd just buy things for DH and maybe a handbag for me, but I bought two lovely cardigans, a top, some perfume and soaps. No handbag which is what I really need. I think I spent my Christmas money twice. Blush

I went to the midwife yesterday - a different one to normal - and my blood pressure was raised and there was a trace of protein in my urine. She remeasured my blood pressure after a couple of minutes and it had gone down to 125/80, so normal. Earlier in the pregnancy I was 110/65 though. I'm not sure if that's anything to worry about, the midwife was quite unconcerned and said the protein was probably just contamination but I was a bit worried. Hmm, I guess I should just watch out for any headaches... Baby seems less engaged than when I saw the doc for my 38 week appointment, it's back to 3/5s. Oh well. I was telling them to stay put over Christmas, I'll start telling them to come out now.

Moobee · 05/01/2012 21:16

BHM - my appetite has gone nuts too. Even though I've just had a large dinner, I'm jealous of the mention of curry. Mmmmmmm....

buzzgirly · 05/01/2012 21:17

Hi ok If I rejoin? I was on the original thread, many moons ago - I was MercyMe. Had a few stresses early on so came out of thread. All looking well now, my due date is now 9th which is Monday! Getting excited but a bit nervous - had emcs last time but hoping for vbac. My hips are killing me!

Congratulations to everyone who has had new babies!! It's so exciting!,

ParsleyLion1 · 05/01/2012 21:27

Welcome back buzzgirly it's all go here today Grin

ParsleyLion1 · 05/01/2012 21:28

fish did you manage the walk today or was the weather too rubbish? X

Moobee · 05/01/2012 21:36

Wecome back Buzzgirly!

Fryn hope you're ok post fall. That doctor would have creeped me out.

Hey, for all the new people, feel free to add yourself to the stats thread - it was in EDD order but babies have started popping out now. I'm sure someone said they were due on the 8th Jan too?

www.mumsnet.com/Talk/antenatal_clubs/1285257-January-2012-Babies-STATS-LIST?reverse=1

I feel everyone's pain about being asked if there's any movement. My parents called my phone when I was in the shower a couple of days ago. I didn't noticed till an hour and a half later and when I called back they had been convinced I was in hospital as I didn't answer straight away. Then last night, I had the phone on loudspeaker when I called them so I sounded further away. All i said was 'hello' and mum panicked and thought I was phoning from a hospital bed. Grin That is going to get very old very quickly!

laylasmummy09 · 05/01/2012 21:37

Thanks for the lovely welcome, peanuts I was nervous to join too after 2 miscarriages I wasn't confident I'd be having this baby but I joined miscarriage thread wich is lovely and supportive but can be quite intense and I just wanted to chat to some ladies due around the same time as me about more normal "trivial" pregnancy niggles if that makes sense?
My hips ache terribly too and DH came home from work yesterday with a broken foot so I'm running around after him and DD and I'm shattered but we did laugh at his timing Grin

peanuts777 · 05/01/2012 21:40

buzzgirly glad to hear thing are ok now. We have been having a pretty bumpy ride too, but I am just holding on to the positive bits. Due on 27th Jan, but having to have ECS on 18th which I am little bit nervous about, but so looking forward to meeting and cuddling my baby and having my body back/ not having my bladder pummelled!

In the bath trying to watch one born every minute on 4od on iPad and it's not happening!
