Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
HaveALittleFaith · 17/09/2012 12:52

Started this morning, MSB is here now. No bleeding. I would lean towards it being kidney but it's just scary. Pain is bad! Ouch.

HaveALittleFaith · 17/09/2012 12:53

I'd say it's at least 7/10 escalating to 9/10. Very High up near bra radiating front to back or back to front,

CamelKnees · 17/09/2012 12:57

Crikey faith that's a high pain score - especially considering everything you've been through so much so you're not a pain virgin iykwim.

I really hope they figure out what it is and it's not serious. On the plus side if it's that high up it sounds unlikely to be baybee related? Having said that WTF do I know.

Will just hold hand silently and say a little secret prayer for you xx

HaveALittleFaith · 17/09/2012 13:07

Yes exactly. It's on a par with the pain I had back in march and bear in mind I'm still on codiene that's why I came to A&E. It's spasms and I am hoping against Hope it is kidney. We have said though hopefully they'll scan me anyway so we can see baybee for the first time?

HaveALittleFaith · 17/09/2012 14:11

Still waiting to be seen, have been triaged. Pain has dulled quite a lot to about a 2-3.

cakeandcava · 17/09/2012 14:30

Hope it is all fine! I don't know your history in detail Faith but I remember reading you've had problems and pain that will be dealt with after the pregnancy. Very glad that pain is dulling, and hoping it is nothing major.
There are random pains associated with hormone surges and ligament stretches after all, could be you're just having a strong reaction to something mundane due to your history?

HaveALittleFaith · 17/09/2012 14:41

I've seen the doc now. He thinks it's either a uti that's tracked to my kidney or a kidney stone. He's going to try get me a scan of the kidney and baby at the same time but he's not massively hopeful! Waiting to hear now.

cakey in March I was admitted with abdo pain on the other side. After 9 days they decided it was either a small kidney stone not showing on scans or an ascending uti. I was still in pain two months later and saw a urologist who thinks its a blockage in my urinary tract. Possibly a stone got stuck! They need to stick a camera up there to clear the blockage but it needs to be done under GA so they're waiting til after I have the baybee. But all of that is the other side. I do gets lots of utis anyway and apparently now is the time I'd be most suspectible Confused

CamelKnees · 17/09/2012 14:44

So glad you're in less pain fee and that they dont think it's anything sinister to do with the pregnancy. Fingers crossed you get a bonus early viewing of havealittlebaby.

HaveALittleFaith · 17/09/2012 15:29

Ok scan ok no kidney stones but bladder not full enough to see baybee Sad
Got prescription for antibiotics, waiting for it to be filled then I'm off home (to collapse).

CamelKnees · 17/09/2012 16:20

Awww boo!

Good news re no stones though.

Happy collapsing love. Make sure MSB waits on you hand and foot

HaveALittleFaith · 17/09/2012 16:25

Mmm bed :) antibiotics started.

cakeandcava · 17/09/2012 17:30

Too bad about not getting a chance to see the bean at the scan.
But glad things were ok. If you're susceptible to uti's generally, then yes, now is the time you will have loads of them unfortunately. At least the antibiotics aren't a problem to the baby, and if they're managed and treated, you won't have any problems. Just pain now and again :(

Curl up in bed and look after yourself for now. Sugary treats very much deserved.

fertilityFTW · 17/09/2012 17:32

Whoa, faith this is even worse that I thought from other thread. Really hope you feel better soon, and get to concentrate on baybee related discomfort instead!

HaveALittleFaith · 17/09/2012 17:51

Ah I'm alright I've said I'm sick for work tomorrow and will see how the pain goes. Yes cakey it's kind of annoying, I've been susceptible since we started TTC. I try hard - I wipe the right way, pee after sex, I drink cranberry juice every day! I try to stay well hydrated (but the ketones in my urine beg to differ today!). The scary thing is I didn't suspect I had a uti til my kidney hurt! Must pay better attention :)

Hello hello ftw! Welcome, welcome! How far along are you now?

cakeandcava · 17/09/2012 18:13

Faith, maybe you could get some of those strips they use to test your urine with at each Midwife appointment to use at home? I'm not sure if that would be possible, but if you have a history of uti's they might think it's a good idea to check more often than usual?

Hello FFTW welcome and congrats!! :) How far along are you? How are you feeling? I'm Cakey, on the home run now, 35 weeks pg (gulp!!). Brief BESHbiography: had been trying for about 3 years with only a MMC and imminent IVF treatment to show for it until we finally got lucky. Have been very fortunate in that I've had a reasonably straight forward and easy pregnancy so far, although getting tired and achey now...

cakeandcava · 17/09/2012 18:15

Oh yes, and there is the poo issue too... Hmm It appears we're all suffering from certain limitations in that department at the moment.

HaveALittleFaith · 17/09/2012 18:17

Actually I had major progress in that department this morning! :)

I can nab those strips at work but yes I'll mention it to the midwife in the morning!

blonderthanred · 17/09/2012 18:52

Oh just read through today's posts, hope you're ok Faith. That really is unfair after all you've been through.

Hope you got on ok LP. It's a big milestone.

Hello FFTW!

FriendofDorothy · 17/09/2012 19:17

Where's LP?

I hope everything is ok.

HaveALittleFaith · 17/09/2012 19:25

LP! Are you ok?

I liked some of the Fred suggestions. It got a bit lost amongst all the poo conversations...

CamelKnees · 17/09/2012 20:29

Hello FFTW! I think we missed each other on the BESH fred. I'm only just diffed (9weeks today). Feeling very shite so often in non-posting-miserable-cow mode. I promise I'm more fun after 12 weeks.

queenrollo · 17/09/2012 20:42

just so you don't all worry too much LP is just fine.

camel I went almost completely awol during those first 12 weeks. I sort of kept in touch with faify but I just didn't feel very communicative, I was mostly hiding under a blanket on the sofa and both hating and liking the nausea.....

LauraPalmer · 17/09/2012 20:50

BOY!!!

We're thrilled, everything is looking great and the scan was amazing.

Will touch base tomorrow - have to do bedtime with TinyTOM and then crash from all our excitement Grin

CamelKnees · 17/09/2012 20:55

Wooooohoooooooooooo LP THRILLED for you!!

queenie that's exactly what I feel like. Feels very little point in sharing the full extent of my grumpiness with the world

HaveALittleFaith · 17/09/2012 20:55

Hooray Grin I'm so pleased for you both!
