Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
HaveALittleFaith · 16/09/2012 19:10

3 months isn't it dor? Would be a challenge but still do-able?

I looked at fybogel but it says you can't take it when taking codiene. I am taking the lactulose but really must take a but more of it - I've been taking the lower end of the prescribed dose.

FriendofDorothy · 16/09/2012 21:22

I am hoping it is do-able. I am desperate to start nesting!

I didn't realise you can't take Fybogel with codeine. Do you know why?

HaveALittleFaith · 16/09/2012 21:28

Nope just says so on the packet - I picked up a packet in a pharmacy and it said not suitable for those taking codiene based products!

As long as the house is liveable in, it's do-able dor!

HaveALittleFaith · 16/09/2012 21:34

A quick google suggests a combination can bulk stools to the point of rupture Shock the GP prescribed the lactulose so I will preserve with it.

FriendofDorothy · 16/09/2012 21:40

Yeah stick with that. Of course the codeine can make you constipated as well as the pregnancy. Sods law of course!

HaveALittleFaith · 16/09/2012 21:44

When I first started taking it, it was bad. I had movicol in hospital which helped and it settled down. It's only since being diffed it's become so problematic!

FriendofDorothy · 16/09/2012 21:46

You can also take movicol in pregnancy. My sister did all the way through.

HaveALittleFaith · 16/09/2012 21:56

Hmm, worth considering. Thing is it costs about a tenner for a packet and since the GP prescribed the lactulose..

FriendofDorothy · 16/09/2012 22:14

Just ask the GP to prescribe it.

HaveALittleFaith · 16/09/2012 22:15

I know, I just can't be arsed to go back again!

FriendofDorothy · 16/09/2012 22:17

Just phone up and ask to speak to his/her secretary and see if she can have a word with the GP and get him to leave out a script for you.

queenrollo · 16/09/2012 22:19

I too sufffered terrible constipation in the first trimester. My digestion/bowels basically went on strike. It didn't help with the general feeling of blurgh to be honest.
I am having to remember now to drink plenty of fluids during the day. It's really too easy to become dehydrated in pregnancy, and for me dehyrdation always means unhappy bowels.
Faith have you got your exemption certificate? if so then maybe it's worth seeing if your GP will prescrbe the Movicol?

Baby has been doing somersaults tonight - then all of a sudden it was using my bladder as a trampoline Grin I have had my first 'dash' to the toilet......

HaveALittleFaith · 16/09/2012 22:24

That's a good idea dor since I'll be going in Tuesday morning for my bloods. I've applied for an exemption certificate but I've got a pre-payment certificate I got cos I've been having so many prescription drugs lately! I'm drinking plenty. I bought some not from concentrate juice too which should help.

HaveALittleFaith · 16/09/2012 22:25

How exciting to feel it wriggling queenie!

CamelKnees · 16/09/2012 22:48

I have not posted as have literally nothing new to report. Still feel bone crushingly tired and constantly sick. I'm sick of thinking it let alone typing it. How am I only 8+6??? Time is going so slowly

blonderthanred · 16/09/2012 23:16

I'm pretty sure each day between 6-12 weeks took about a week each. I kept thinking, how am I only...? I must be ... by now!

Now thinking, how the feck am I nearly 33 weeks?!

FriendofDorothy · 17/09/2012 08:00

I agree with blonde - the early weeks took forever but time seems to be racing on now!

CamelKnees · 17/09/2012 08:04

blonder that's exactly what it feels like! 33 weeks - wow. That really is the home straight now isn't it?

Added to which (and this is going to expose me as the vain creature I am) my roots are out of control, which means every single morning I have a 15 minute job trying to part it in such a way that doesn't make me look 65. So I've taken decisive action. I'm getting my bloody hair done. Was going to wait until 12 weeks but I neeeeeed a pick me up. Feel free to call childline

9 weeks today hoobloodyrah!

CamelKnees · 17/09/2012 08:09

X-post Dor. I woul so welcome some racing right about now

LauraPalmer · 17/09/2012 08:31

I would welcome some racing time as well...our 20wk scan is at 10.15 this morning and I've been wide awake since 4.45am fretting.

It's been a particularly busy week for me and I seem to have missed many a post. I'll have to have a major catch-up. Can you believe we're about to tip our PESH Fred limit?! What's on for our next title?

'All PESHed up and nowhere to go...'

'PESHed to the nines (& counting down the weeks)'

'The PESH British Bake-off'

'Camp PESHtival'

(Can you tell I'm looking for a good distraction? Grin)

cakeandcava · 17/09/2012 09:05

Oooh, a chat about bowels, I am so there with you! It eased up in the middle bit, but now it's back with a vengeance. I have such painful trapped wind and so bad constipation there's been a few moments I've worried contractions have started -but then it all calms down once the 'deed' is finally done.

And yes, it does speed up alarmingly towards the end.

Camel I think it's fine to get your roots done now -some kind of chemical that used to be in hairdye but isn't really an issue anymore.

LP good luck!! Exciting -hope it all goes well. I quite like the PESH British Bake-off and 'All PESHed up and nowhere to go...' :) We need to update the not-list as well. Everyone on the Updiffed list have laid now, we need some dates!

HaveALittleFaith · 17/09/2012 12:39

Hand holding please, I've got bad abdo pain left hand side but really high up. Waiting to be seen and for MSB to arrive. I'm bloody terrified Sad

CamelKnees · 17/09/2012 12:44

Oh faithy you poor thing. Consider hand officially held. How high up is the pain? And how bad out of ten? Could it be something to do with your urinary tract thingy????

CamelKnees · 17/09/2012 12:45

LP hope it went well my love. Just think - the next time you see that baybee it'll be out in the world! Shock

FriendofDorothy · 17/09/2012 12:47

Oh faithy - fingers crossed. How long have you had it? Any bleeding?

How long do they reckon you will have to wait to be seen?
