Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
CamelKnees · 12/09/2012 16:26

Aww fee you poor thing. Apparently it peaks at 9 weeks so not too long to go.

Know what you mean about MS taking its toll. I've been a shit wide recently.

I watched OBEM when I was in labour with DD Grin

HaveALittleFaith · 12/09/2012 19:53

Whilst in labour?!

I am feeling rather sorry for myself although MSB has done some stuff round the house which helps. Just had dinner and in either waiting for it to settle or return (!) and then I'm going to bed.

Have a nice ante-natal class dor!

CamelKnees · 12/09/2012 20:07

More precisely whilst in enormous amounts of pain but having been sent home from the hospital for not being in 'established' labour and only being a pitiful 2cm dilated.... Was actually annoyed that all these women were busy pushing out babies on the TV and mine didn't want to come out. Think I must have been delirious! Actually now I think about it I also watched about 7 episodes of the good wife. Must remember to save a good box set for this time.

Hope you don't see that tea again faith!

Now faithy has anyone guessed you iz diffed? Girl at work who I haven't seen for a while emailed me today after a little impromptu coffee machine chat and asked me if I was diffed due to my enormous boobs. Feel well and truly rumbled! If the boobs are that obvious surely everyone knows??? Gaaahhhhhhh!

HaveALittleFaith · 12/09/2012 20:22

I had to confess it yesterday! I was at another hospital and my colleague kept asking if I was ok, in fact several people did because I felt so ill! In the end I just explained I was in fact, ok, but diffed hence the peakiness! I have been told about 10 times in the last week....may fake a virus Wink

FriendofDorothy · 12/09/2012 21:25

I have seriously been to the most bizarre ante-natal class ever. The woman taking it would appear to be a bit of an island treasure, and came out with some classics such as...

?I much prefer pregnant vaginas, they are a magenta pink colour and I had a ball gown that colour once?.

I massively lost the plot at one point, mainly when I caught the eye of this guys sitting the other side of the room. Apparently the classes only get better/worse!

HaveALittleFaith · 13/09/2012 18:45

So that's what I have to look forward to dor? Magenta vagina? Doesn't that sound like a good MN NN?!

cakeandcava · 14/09/2012 11:06

It's a great MN NN!! I like it :)
And the woman sounds totally bonkers -but maybe that's a good thing? Ours is boringly normal -I was almost hoping to have more stories of crazy woo!

Last day of work today for a whole year!! So strange. Can't believe I'm actually going to go on maternity leave. It's all becoming scaringly real...

HaveALittleFaith · 14/09/2012 13:24

If only I wasn't such a prude I'd name change! :)

I'm counting down the hours til I can go home! Might slip off early to be fair....I'm rather pleased to be 8+0 today. Feels like a good landmark somehow. Hopefully only 4 weeks til my scan!

HaveALittleFaith · 14/09/2012 15:23

Be proud of me PESHies, I have told my soon to be boss of my diffment. She can be a bit blunt (!) but she was luffly about it all. I am having 10 days leave between leaving this job and going back but she said herself you won't be a staff nurse forever and to keep looking (she has plenty of staff!). She had a feeling I was going to say I was diffed though! I am going to see returning to my old job as a opportunity to get extended skills like taking blood, ECGs so I am skilled up when going for new jobs :) phew, glad that's done. Took me an hour to build up the courage!

queenrollo · 14/09/2012 16:20

well done Faith!!

When is your 10 days leave?

HaveALittleFaith · 14/09/2012 18:22

Starts 3rd October :) got another 10 days doing my job on my own, then a week handing over then holiday!!!! I'm looking forward to pottering round at home, lie ins, tidying, catching up with people. Mmm it'll be great!

blonderthanred · 14/09/2012 19:20

Hello all, hope you've had a naice week. I had a super time in the sun sea and sand (none of the other) with the ILs and luffly niece.

Back to work today and I am ready to go on mat leave now I think! Two weeks left... c&c you must be feeling very strange. Unfortunately we are right in the middle of some busy stuff so it wasn't a quiet day, lots of stuff to sort out (in fact I am still at work now). My replacement starts on Monday so it will be a full-on couple of weeks.

Had a scan at lunchtime (with GD they do one at 32 & 36 wks) and the baby is measuring about 2-3 weeks ahead. The sonographer was really serious and grave about it but then said, oh it's still in normal range though, very common and nothing to worry about! So I felt a bit confused. But he did say everything else was completely normal and ended up being really cheerful. Maybe he saw the worry on mine and TBI's faces.

Well done Faith and Dor for being all assertive and decisive re. work and pelvises. V impressed. Hope everyone's husbands and partners are behaving.

Some of my AN thread say they have BLUE vulvas. I am too scared to get a mirror out.

queenrollo · 14/09/2012 20:04

I was blissfully unaware of the state of my foof in my last pregnancy until being examined in labour the midwife asked me if the varicose vein had been giving me any trouble Shock......mind you four hours later a varicose vein was the least of my worries!
I'm so damn hairy down there this time it has it's own theme tune.. The Forest by The Cure Grin

HOLB has gone out for fish and chips. A kind of celebratory dinner as we're embarking on a new business venture. All been a bit cloak and dagger, but it's exciting and scary at the same time.

FriendofDorothy · 14/09/2012 20:08

Heheh my local hospital is on the TV. A new series called "Island Hospital".

Basically we are people spotting!

HaveALittleFaith · 14/09/2012 20:33

How many people have you recognised so far dor?

FriendofDorothy · 14/09/2012 20:36

I have seen a couple and my Mum has seen a few more. We were all asked whether we wanted to be on it at work and we all declined.

The Scottish midwife did my booking in appointment!

HaveALittleFaith · 14/09/2012 22:26

How exciting! We finally watched American Pie the reunion. Very amusing :)

queenrollo · 15/09/2012 09:15

we watched World of Sport, which was a round up of the 70's and laughed a lot. Then we left it on whatever channel it was on and watched the original film version of The Sweeney Grin
It's a novelty, we haven't had television for 3 years but I remember pregnancy insomnia/early days walking the floor with baby and decided I couldn't do it without some mindless TV to keep me going.

HaveALittleFaith · 16/09/2012 13:34

We have drifted miles down my threads I'm on! How are you all PESHlas?
I am feeling rough (on and off) still. Very tired, sick at least once a day. Ths afternoon MSB is going out for a bike ride (he will go miles so I won't join him) and I fancy a walk while it's sunny, maybe 5k. Will take about an hour. Then I might attempt to bake scones. Mmmm. Yum.

queen I can't imagine life without a TV! Is that terrible?

blonderthanred · 16/09/2012 16:00

Sorry to hear you are still sick Faith.

Do you have any baby appointments through? Are you having an early scan or do you have to wait till 12 weeks?

queenrollo · 16/09/2012 16:05

It's not terrible at all faith. We got rid of ours because just before we moved here we realised we were barely watching it. We tend to listen to music and read in the evening, or spend the time together in the kitchen bothering food and chatting. We won't watch it all that much now to be honest, very little programming appeals to us. It'll be nice to have when baby arrives though!

If you aren't feeling too ill during your 10 days off we could arrange to meet up for coffee?

HaveALittleFaith · 16/09/2012 16:12

blonder I've got blood tests Tuesday because I'm now 8 weeks - too early to do them at my booking in appointment! It's actually at 9.40 so I get a lie-in and go into work late :)
I've had a cheeky check on the hospital system and my scan is registered on there as needing to be booked but no date yet. I'm hoping it'll come for when I'm on leave. Just be nice to go into new (old) job telling people.

queen I'd love to meet up when I'm on leave! That'd be ace!

FriendofDorothy · 16/09/2012 18:29

I have got a really dodgy tummy this afternoon. Hope I am not coming down with anything :(

HaveALittleFaith · 16/09/2012 19:00

Oh no dor! Maybe it's just the change in water or stress from travel? I hope it settles soon. Speaking of that end of things...I had the horrors today of bleeding when I wiped. Obviously went into full panic mode but really it was not baybee but back passage related Blush clearly the long term constipation has. Abused either a fissure or pile. It's started hasn't it? The changes to my body have commenced. I will see if it settles down and if not will have to purchase some anusol

We went for a walk this afternoon. It was good actually. I got all stressed out about that state of the house (even though it wasn't really that bad) as we started walking. DH was about to race hme to do stuff but I said no and insisted we walk. By the end of the walk I felt loads better and had things back in perspective. When we got home we had a quick rest (it was tiring!) and then got a fair bit done. I feel tonnes better now! I blame the hormones. It's their fault, yes?

FriendofDorothy · 16/09/2012 19:02

Definitely their fault.

I keep going into major crisis mode when I think about our house. I really wanted to be in by the time the baby is born and I just an not sure we will be which is a shame.

I had really awful constipation in the first trimester. I have found that taking one Fybogel sachet a day just keeps things regular and stops it becoming a problem.
