Are your children’s vaccines up to date?

Heh. I certainly appreciated it when I lived on the mainland.

I know it sounds like I am moaning about it but we get great healthcare, we just have to pay for it.

HaveALittleFaith · 31/08/2012 22:54

I s'pose we pay for ours through taxes! With my recent admission, I wouldn't be without it!

blonderthanred · 01/09/2012 09:09

The NHS is bloody marvellous. Pretty much everyone I've seen in this pregnancy has been fantastic. I'm hugely grateful for what it offers esp when hearing how much it costs you to see a doctor Dor. Even though we pay for it through our taxes, at least we just pay according to what we earn, over many years. It would be tough to stump up that kind of cash in a short period of time esp when lots of other baybee stuff to pay for.

Paying to get discharged sounds like a kick in the teeth.

FriendofDorothy · 01/09/2012 09:57

Yeah, the annoying bit is that if you end up having a C-section you are signed off by the consultant so it is free!

[CRASH] sound of lolloping interloper hello sorry to intrude just wanted to see how faith was getting on? (faith i used to BB someone else Wink)

HaveALittleFaith · 01/09/2012 14:04

Hi BB secret., wow you NC a fair bit! I'm not too bad. 6+1 today. Absolutely shattered! I have reduced the sickness with diet modifications, boobs are enormous (thank the Lord for sports bras!) and my right nipple is very itchy (tmi?!). How are you doing now?

Oh dear, MSB is in a 'weird' mood again. He's all huffy because he had a fight with his sister. He's stressed because he has a job interview Monday and we agreed to travel to see his family tomorrow. It'll be fine, we'll fit it all in as long as he snaps out of it preps for the interview now. He snapped at me. I didn't retaliate (good Faith) but simply provided him with a toastie - I think he was hungry - and waited for him to calm down. He has since apologised! Men!

SecretCermonials · 01/09/2012 16:08

Haha i get rumbled a bit Wink ah glad you're doing well!

HaveALittleFaith · 01/09/2012 16:12

I'm currently thinking I should really clean the car out but MNeting and sitting on the sofa are winning!

cakeandcava · 01/09/2012 18:19

I've been thinking I should really scrub the bathtub all day, still no luck... One day left of the weekend though, so tons of time! Wink

blonderthanred · 01/09/2012 18:39

I've been thinking I've had a shitty couple of weeks, I should lie on the sofa with my feet up watching Poirot all day and that is exactly what I am doing.

HaveALittleFaith · 01/09/2012 18:46

fair play to both of you. blonde that made me cackle!

I managed to do it but it took forever! Still it's nice and clean now. I have wrestled the laptop off MSB for a bit and am sorting out CDs. Putting stuff on the itoons and making copies for the car :) whilst catching up with the last season of One Tree Hill!

blonderthanred · 01/09/2012 19:47

The husband did it. Men eh.

HaveALittleFaith · 01/09/2012 19:52

Someone put my pizza in the oven please?!

blonderthanred · 01/09/2012 20:37

I would but I might accidentally absorb some of those carbs.

FriendofDorothy · 01/09/2012 20:46

I am so tired today. I just can't keep my eyes open. My dad has been taking the piss out of me for snoring on the sofa this afternoon!

HaveALittleFaith · 01/09/2012 21:11

I managed to do it but have accepted I need to tell MSB he needs to do stuff round the house. I usually do a lot more because he works more but frankly that's got to change! I just asked him to empty the dishwasher when I'd usually do it.

FriendofDorothy · 02/09/2012 10:07

I lay in the bath this morning and for the first time I saw my belly moving from within. Very strange and exciting!

blonderthanred · 02/09/2012 10:18

Woohoo! That is fab Dot. Hours of fun await you watching it twitch and wibble. Congratulations!

HaveALittleFaith · 02/09/2012 10:29

That's so exciting dor! Must be massively reassuring?

We are travelling to see the outlaws in their house for the last time - they are selling up and moving because MSB's Dad has a job down south. Traffic has been awful and the queasiness is back with a vengeance. Quick stop for sweets to suck and water to sip has helped though :)

cakeandcava · 02/09/2012 11:56

That's great news Dot -let the pummelling begin!

I am feeling housewifey -I'm baking bread. Perhaps the famous nesting instinct i starting to kick in? That would probably be a good idea at this stage -bathtub as of now remains unscrubbed...

FriendofDorothy · 02/09/2012 13:18

It is hugely reassuring! The Mister is on nights and is in bed asleep so I can't even share it with him at the moment!

Mum and I are off to buy a nursing chair and footstool today which was advertised for £50. I am hoping it will be just what I need.

blonderthanred · 02/09/2012 18:17

That sounds good, Dor, where from?

FriendofDorothy · 02/09/2012 18:43

Bought it from a FB group called 'Baby items for sale'.

It's kind of similar to this sort of thing. Although I am not sure if this is the same brand.

HaveALittleFaith · 02/09/2012 18:52

Exciting dor! Luffly face space pic by the way :) blooming you are. My sister's MIL does charity shop work and got her a rocking chair. I'm going to get her to keep her eye out.

Right, a potential/ mini/ ridiculously early AIBU - I want to BF if I can I believe it's best for baby (and also a lot cheaper). MSB want to FF so he can be more involved with feeding and doesn't feel left out Hmm I've explained there'll be plenty for him to do and I can express so he can use bottles but he seems to think I'm bu and not budging when I think he doesn't realise the importance of BF. nb my nephew didn't get the hang of BF and had to be FF and 'he turned out fine' which is where he's got this all from...

FriendofDorothy · 02/09/2012 19:25

You could always express so that he can do some of the feeding. I won't budge on the BF issue as I think it is really vital, but fortunately The Mister is quite happy with that.
