Bloody hell faithy well done you on the exercise! Very impressed. A really good friend of mine was a bit overweight when she got knocked up and she kept up with her walking and swimming and eating well and barely put any weight on over the 9 months, so it is possible! Christ knows how, my arse has never recovered She's thinner now than she was pre-baby. Did the GP say anything re meds and your op?

blonde consider yourself well and truly groped!

dor that's quite a bloody rollecoaster you've been on.

HaveALittleFaith · 24/08/2012 06:31

He said its low risk but they may not do it and the best thing is to dinghies secretary today. That's my hope - that I can stay pretty much the same.

LauraPalmer · 24/08/2012 08:21

So luffly to see our little Fred growing - yay for cluster diffage!

All good here, just a bit worn out from work - several looooong days on my feet. Only 12 more weeks til I cut out for an early Mat leave...the countdown is ON.

I didn't realise that was a possible explanation for your bleeds Dory - Sad

Have begun speaking fairly openly about my current state - its kind of out of my control at this point anyway because my baybee belly has definitely popped out. It's wild - I look undeniably pregnant. I've caught several acquaintances staring questioningly at my belly while politely not saying anything. My close friends are not so polite. Grin

And something amazing happened yesterday - I clearly felt Grublet moving for first time. I think I've had a few little flutters before but it's so hard to tell, whereas yesterday I had been on my feet, moving around for several hours straight and then sat down. After about 2 minutes I felt this little flicker - like a light thumping from inside! It was so crazy. Of course I've felt nothing recognisable since, but I think that regular movement doesn't come for quite a while yet? Maybe 20-22 weeks?

LauraPalmer · 24/08/2012 08:24

Oh, also, my friend's very German mother insisted on doing the needle & thread thingy - both times predicted a girl...

Anyone else playing with old wives tales?

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 24/08/2012 08:27

Dot I arrived yesterday or maybe Wednesday. Have known since Monday and need somewhere to TALK. We are not telling anyone until after the early scan if I can get my big fat mouth shut, but I told the whole world about our fertility issues, so might get asked outright and am a terrible liar

Well done on the walk and cycle faif. Shall we continue project BMI baybee here? I did a 1K swim yesterday morning and promptly fell asleep at my desk.

WOW LP for baby movement. That is SOOOO exciting.

I really, really do not believe it yet. But the absent period is still notable. And I might pee on another stick (only the second one, as SB was completely convinced by the blood test, but he got to talk to the nurse).

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 24/08/2012 08:31

As to twins, we actually discussed that yesterday, as it is a real chance/risk of SO+IUI. So geek-man looked up the stats and promptly had nightmares about twins. It would not be our first choice, but we'd cope. I am scared of twin pregnancies and even more scared of the first year and a half...

But I'd take any healthy pregnancy, and resulting child(ren), gratefully and gladly. Please. Universe. Let. It. Stick!

LauraPalmer · 24/08/2012 08:31

And for those who recently join us, please add yourself when you feel ready so we don't have to read back through the thread to remember your EDD

LauraPalmer · 24/08/2012 08:39

oh, x-post with Lemonia - we're all here for you to 'talk' with.

I completely understand the desire to wait to say anything. I'm 16 wks and have only just begun talking about it (and if I remember correctly Blondie waited til around 16 weeks, too). I've gracefully avoided seeing all of my closest friends since late July because I knew they would tweak it! And sure enough, I've met with several of them this week with the intention of announcing our news but they've all noticed my bump right away.

HaveALittleFaith · 24/08/2012 08:42

Oh wow Lors that must be exciting/reassuring! How far along are you now?

That's very restrained drizz, my total now stands at 9! Absence of droid - should it be Druid if it's AWOL?! - since I have never had a 35 day cycle is the one thing aside from the pee sticks that reassures me.

Yes we must carry on project BMI baybee, excellent plan. I am aiming to leave work early if I can and do some shopping and get some nice healthy snacks. Then I shall go for another walk. DSis and BIL are off to a ba tonight so we are looking after their munchkin overnight :) expecting an early alarm call!

FriendofDorothy · 24/08/2012 08:44

Congrats lemons and how lovely to see you here.

I am 24 weeks and finding it hard to feel movement. I sometimes feel a bit obsessed with it, but it is so hard to work out whether I am actually feeling movement. I think it is harder because I am fat have a higher BMI.

Anyway, I am about to go incommunicado for a few days as we are off to a festival.

Catch up in a few days. Save all the gossip for when I get back!

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 24/08/2012 08:45

Not ready at all, might be in a (long) while...

Lors Grin about avoiding close friends. That is just the plan.

Have a great time at the festival dot!

And thanks for letting me talk - I just am scared and worried and delighted and all mixed up. And I had brown sludge after some celebratory sechsing on Tuesday, which has been on and off and now mostly off since then, I rang the lovely fertility-nurse to get reassured and asked silly, stressy questions, she told me to enjoy being diffed, so SB keeps on repeating that. I should never have told him.

LauraPalmer · 24/08/2012 08:53

I'm so jealous of your festivaling Dory - have a wonderful time. Don't forget your she-pee!

Totally understand wanting to wait for the Not-List. I didn't make a squeak on the February fred until after 12 weeks but I don't spend much time there anyway because I'm far more interested in you lot!

16 weeks, Faife. Weird, huh? BTW, I iz well impressed with your commitment to your health. When is your booking appointment?

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 24/08/2012 08:53

Also faif druid-absence is a good sign. But if I had not had treatment I would not have been testing until nowish tomorrow. I am on day 31, and that is my longest cycle length.

I think we will tell close people after the first scan and the rest of the world after the dating one. I have been very open about our troubles, so I just want those who have been so wonderfully supportive to be in the know sooner. But first I need to get my head around it. Which will take time.

LauraPalmer · 24/08/2012 08:54

Another notch on our Not-List Smile

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 24/08/2012 09:01

Well done on being on the Not-list, faif. You are brave.

I am too scared to ring the GP and book my first appointment, I find the "I am pregnant" words really petrifying. I had just decided to get some counselling to deal with the stress of IF and I did call them to cancel my appointment. But that was a funny conversation, I did not say The Word. I said, that I wanted to cancel because "hmm, the problem seems to be solved". So the counsellor asked do you think you're pregnant? And I said, well the test says so Wink

I have practiced on SB, a fair bit, though!

HaveALittleFaith · 24/08/2012 09:02

I'm so chuffed for you LP! Grin

I am borderline obese but am 1/2 stone lighter than when they weighed me at the gynae clinic and told me to shed the weight for ivf (ha ironic no?!) and I'm worried enough about staying this weight to determinedly not gain much/stay as healthy as possible. I'm going to look at joining a Pilates class in my village too with the hope it will minimise stress and improve my core!

I get what you mean drizz. I tested two days before droid was due - unusual for me to test early but went with my hunch - and couldn't really allow myself to believe it was a proper diffment til after expected droid date having had a chemical before. Now it's been 10 days it's starting to sink in.

We have told immediate family and my two close friends - only people we would tell if it all went wrong. Oh and someone MSB works with who asked outright yesterday if I was diffed yet. He's so chuffed he felt he had to say yes. Now this guy is calling him the sperminator! After problems with his swimmers he is luffing that nickname!!

HaveALittleFaith · 24/08/2012 09:03

Oh my first midwife appointment is next Thursday.

lovesLemonDrizzleCake · 24/08/2012 09:06

That is SO soon, faif.

I am going back into pretending it is not happening, the brown sludge is back :(

blonderthanred · 24/08/2012 09:10

Looking at the original at the beginning of this thread, should we make the Not-List a bit more... witty? 'Tis an ESH trait after all.

I told a few close family members early, like Faith, just people I would have told if it had gone wrong. Then at 12 weeks I felt really funny about telling 'everyone' so it took a few more weeks.

Blood sugar marginally lower this morning and in required range (I promise I won't update every day).

HaveALittleFaith · 24/08/2012 09:17

That's good news blonder! Is that after a day of metformin?
Yes indeed the not list is rather, um, list-like! Some wit may be beneficial!

Why oh why did I drink a cup of tea?! Epic failure to keep it down :( the appointment was sooner than I expected but a good time (3pm) so we went for it. I want dietary advice anyway. MSB told me off for not eating enough yesterday but if I can't keep it down til evening, ate til I was full in the evening, surely that's as much as I can do?!

cakeandcava · 24/08/2012 09:42

Have a great time at the festival Dor!

Lemon this place is for talking and menkulling, so go for it (brown sludge without cramps is no biggie I think, and your HGC levels were ace, so sounds very good!) -same goes for daily blood sugar updates blonde. Great news that they are in range!

LP that's so lovely that you've felt movement! I think I had my first 'definite' one at 18 weeks. It's brilliant -still amazed by it every day

faith exciting news about the midwife appointment -although usually what they do at the first appointment is just ask you about a million questions about previous health and behaviour ('do you sniff glue?' was my favourite) and then empty your arm of blood.

I was suffering terrific nausea around the time the Not-List was re-formed...I had no sense of humour.

HaveALittleFaith · 24/08/2012 16:54

I'm still trying to think of something witty.

Today I told my colleague who I get on really well with I'm diffed. She was delighted for me :) If I have to work on the ward in the next couple of weeks she'll be there and I'd rather she knew. Then my other colleague came in and said you've looked much happier the last week, is there any reason for that?! (she knew of our fertility woes - she was 3 years/6 courses of clomid before winning DC1 so I was able to confide in her before) and she totally guessed I was diffed! So much for not telling people! They know to keep it quiet though. I think I'll struggle to hide it from the first one since we share an office and I keep running off to throw up!
