Everything crossed for the scan Northey but it all sounds good so far.

Dor I've been through real highs and lows over the last few months (sometimes simultaneously) and the lows are very hard to snap out of, especially when there's other stuff going on. Don't forget you are going through Primal Maternal Preoccupation so even minor things seem like an inconvenience, never mind sorting out a house. It will all be worth it.

Fingers crossed for a happy day tomorrow. I am 28 weeks - 12 to go! In the words of the great Bert Le Clos: Unbelievable.

Womb lining thick, but no sign of anything in there. Tiny hope to be gained from the fact that they couldn't see anything in my tube either. But this is exactly what happened last time, and the next stage was the appearance of a whacking great mass in my right tube.

They took blood, and will phone me for emergency recall if hcg is over 1500. If not, they will retest blood on Friday to see if levels are rising or falling.

I was comfy on the couch though, thanks dor. I am altogether too comfortable with dildocam scans to be considered entirely ladylike, I think :)

Bollocks. Really sorry to hear that North. Will keep fingers xed for improvement but so upsetting for you to hear that and now be on tenterhooks.

That's exactly it, blonde - the wretched waiting. If it's fucked I want to know now, and not wait till the weekend, when I'm meant to be having a bloody engagement lunch party for parents to meet. How on earth am I going to get through that if it is bad news? And what on earth am I going to give as an excuse for cancelling if I end up in hospital again?

It's shit, Northey, no two ways about it. Will they scan you again or does it depend on the blood test?

Depends on blood test, I suppos. If it's rising and they can't see anything then that's much more of a problem than if it's falling, and the pregnancy is failing anyway.

Still no news of hcg levels. I phoned and apparently someone will call me back. I'm assuming that if it were urgent I'd have been phoned by now, right?

HCG 12968, according to the ward.. Waiting for the actual early preg clinic to call me back when they open to tell me what they want me to do. Go back in, I guess...

Last time they operated at 11000, but they could see a mass in the Fallopian tube then. If they can't see anything, I don't want them to do anything. I DO NOT want to lose my other tube. I can refuse, can't I?

I'm sure you must be able to say that you don't want that unless something is found or symptoms start. In any case it would surely be a last resort, they're not going to want to do it either unless there's no choice.

Thanks blondie. They have just said they would like me in at 10.15 tomorrow for repeat blood test and rescan. They also said to prepare to be there for a long day, which sounds... fun.
