OP posts:
Are your children’s vaccines up to date?
DolomitesDonkey · 03/08/2012 10:43

It's fine. I spoke to a sports doctor about this - in the first trimester you'd actually have to puncture your uterus for it to have an effect. So don't fall on any javelins with accuracy. As far as how long you want to ride for, I rode until 16 weeks the first time (big long gallop) and sat on her at around 28 weeks. The second time I only rode until 10 weeks but had jumping lessons in that time. No sport will have any determination upon whether the pregnancy is successful or not. :)

Northey · 03/08/2012 10:57

Good. I mean, i am still worrying, obviously, but that makes me feel better.

I take it that's you with a name change?

DolomitesDonkey · 03/08/2012 12:24

Yep, I well and truly outed myself earlier... and time for a change anyway. :)

So was it being in the presence of all those stallion hormones, leather, oil & whips which made your ovaries ping? Wink

Northey · 03/08/2012 15:42

I expect so!

AMNH tentatively very happy. Celebratory sechs has, inevitably, resulted in the faintest of spotting. How incredibly stupid of me. Hopefully just a sensitive cervix. But still.

FriendofDorothy · 03/08/2012 15:46

Bloody hell. One of my old college friends had a baby in October and she has announced that she is 20 weeks pregnant with her second. Very impressive. I suspect that she took a long timer to get pregnant with number 1 though.

cakeandcava · 04/08/2012 20:56

Spinachandmineralwater here, just catching up on all from Italy (back tomorrow, have had no internet so far), and whoa to lots of great news!

norf yay, hurrah, welcome, whoop whoop!!! :) Fantastic news -would do a proper nekkid dance, but with the current stretchmarks-on-buzzwams situation you might not want to see it.

dor wonderful news on the scan and the little one -I am so super excited about having a boy -I think it'll be amazing! It is weird to get your head around it, but now you have months ahead of just getting increasingly excited :)

dolomites (A+ namechange) fanks for the icecream recipe -it will be duly tested upon return tomorrow. I did crack today and had a rather splendid hot-chocolate sauce covered icecream desert -I figured it is last day of holiday, and I've been quite good so far...

cakeandcava · 09/08/2012 20:16

Looks like I killed Fred last week :(

Any news about scannage Norf?

FriendofDorothy · 10/08/2012 09:34

Anyone still here? Cooooeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.

I am doing fine. Belly is growing nicely and I already feel ginormous. God knows what I am going to feel like in a couple of months!

blonderthanred · 10/08/2012 10:55

I am still here... I can tell you how you'll feel, it'll be a mixture of 'oh crikey only 12 weeks left, it's going so quickly' and 'oh crikey this baby's still got another three months to grow, how big am I going to get?!'

FriendofDorothy · 10/08/2012 14:06

I know, added with 'oh crikey, when is our house purchase going to go through?!'

blonderthanred · 10/08/2012 21:09

Hopefully not, "oh fuck, the boiler's rusted through and is pumping oodles of brown water all over our kitchen floor".

FriendofDorothy · 10/08/2012 22:25

No, more like the 'oh shit. The house has no central heating.... or a kitchen for that matter.'

Northey · 10/08/2012 22:37

Scan now next Tuesday, bunsandbooze. In the meantime I am pondering my new extreme vadgular wetness and boggling at my massive jugs.

What progress with the house, dotty?

FriendofDorothy · 10/08/2012 22:49

We are due in court on 4 September, all being well with no further disasters. Then we have about 3 months work to do on it. Time is getting tight!

I just feel a bit miserable tonight. Friends of mine keep putting up photos of themselves - they look really nice as pregnant women as they are slim and therefore have a nicely shaped bump. I was a size 18 before I got pregnant and now I just look fatter.

I feel really sad that I won't have any nice photos of me looking nicely pregnant. Instead I try to avoid having my photo taken because I just look like a fucking enormous heifer :(

LauraPalmer · 11/08/2012 12:34

We're on holiday but I'm getting in a sneaky round of MN.

Yay for your scan next week Norf! The wetness is totally normal - I've had loads of it but I'm still quite small in the chest - even with the swelling and I'm very jealous of your huge boobs!

I know the house stuff must feel stressful and a bit overwhelming Dory but you're on your way and it will get sorted ('Just keep swimming, just keep swimming...Smile)

14 weeks is a difficult, weird inbetween time - morning sickness and other symptoms are fading but I'm still in the not-feeling baby yet and looking fat tubby not-properly-preggo phase so I'm of course menkulling like mad. We still have yet to break the news to TinyTOM and the PIL - for some reason I just want to wait awhile longer. (MiL can be quite full-on with her attention!) Maybe after our 16 week mw appointment on the 20th and we hear the heartbeat.

Northey · 11/08/2012 17:55

Why do you have to go to court, dor?

I completely understand about not wanting to tell till later, laura. I am already thinking that, assuming Tuesday doesn't reveal another ectopic, I would quite like to wait till 20 week scan to tell anyone at all.

On way to PILs now, as is AMNH from the opposite direction. We are supposed to be picking up resized engagement ring, going for dinner, then sleeping at the PILs'. He has only just seen fit to mention that he has been puking every couple of hours ever since last night. It's now too late to change plans. Why on earth didn't he tell me this morning when we could have rescheduled? Stupid, stupid arse. (I am not a sympathetic sick nurse)

FriendofDorothy · 11/08/2012 22:16

In Guernsey to complete on a house you have to go to court and sign the paperwork. The same goes if you get a new mortgage, you have to go to court. It's just how the legal and housing system works a bit differently over here.

blonderthanred · 11/08/2012 22:47

Hope it all goes well with the house Dor.

I know what you mean about bump pictures, I have felt the same but it doesn't matter, you've got a lovely baby in there and your amazing body is growing and nourishing it. I still have a bit of 'double bump' but it's filled out much more evenly now.

The baby's been giving me a good kick this evening, possibly a triple somersault with pike I think.

FriendofDorothy · 11/08/2012 23:14

I think I would feel better if I could feel a wriggling baby but instead I just feel fat!

blonderthanred · 12/08/2012 00:03

Hope that happens for you soon.

FriendofDorothy · 12/08/2012 00:11

Thanks. Sorry. I know I sound like I am whining. Just feeling unsettled at the moment I think.

blonderthanred · 12/08/2012 12:13

You're perfectly entitled to whine! Believe me I've done my fair share on similar topics. Also we are full of hormones which can be blamed for pretty much any unwanted behaviour I find.

Northey · 13/08/2012 07:25

You will feel it soon, dorothy. Do you know what's making you feel unsettled?

FriendofDorothy · 13/08/2012 08:40

I think I feel unsettled because we haven't got the house sorted yet and I just want to get on with making it habitable and somewhere nice for us to live. I think everything feels a bit out of control at the moment. I can't feel the baby so that makes me anxious and I have no control over the house stuff so that makes me even worse. Not sure I am making any sense at all now!

Northey · 13/08/2012 14:17

No, you're making perfect sense, and all that would worry me as well (though AMNH would sail blithely along through it all). But it's not long now for the house is it? In a few weeks you will have both a house an a wriggling baby.

Less than 24 hours till scan for me. Am tormenting myself that every perfectly normal twinge is the beginning of ectopic RUPTURE and DOOM.
