I was told that brown cm is really common, especially if you have already had a bleed. I bled on and off for about 3 weeks before it finally stopped. It was horrible, every single day and I still obsessively knicker check to make sure there is nothing on the loo paper.

I am 16 weeks now and have a midwife appointment. The menkulling doesn't stop though. I am convinced there are problems and that the little bean isn't growing. Nothing rational about my thought processes still!

Viability is more about how much it has grown between the two scans and how healthy the hb is looking. I know you didn't want to dr Google all that though.
Brown CM is definitely common - I had more in my successful pg than in the two that ended in mc. But sometimes I think if you feel you just "know" then you may well be right.

Sorry the nurse was snotty, do get a referral from your GP and mention that they did originally offer to rescan you anyway.

It sounds like it isn't over yet anyway and even with blood and some cramps I believe that there is still a 50/50 chance.

blonderthanred · 02/07/2012 08:35

I know what you mean Dot. I don't think the worry ever stops. Hope everything goes well at the midwife, 16 weeks is another milestone passed.

Will be keeping everything crossed for Bugs. My doc was excellent when I was having bleeds and saw me immediately, called EPU himself. He did say as well that an early viable scan was the best possible predictor of a successful pregnancy. So although yours was complex because of the dates, there is a lot of hope.

Hope you can get some similar treatment and some peace of mind.

Morning all, I'm back from holiday, and sorry to read that I'm coming back to more upset and worry. So sorry you're going through this bugs, as the others say, it doesn't have to mean it's over, brown CM is common, it's the red stuff that can be really bad news. But I totally know what you mean about the shruggy attitude -it's about wanting to know what is happening so you can be prepared!

Dor hope it goes well with your midwife appointment, they may have a listen to the heartbeat which is lovely and reassuring, although not all trusts do it at the 16 week appointment as it can be difficult to find (and then it's not reassuring at all).

cakeandcava · 02/07/2012 09:24

Sorry, missed your last post bugs. How massively shit. :(
Have everything crossed that it's going to be ok still.

LauraPalmerish · 02/07/2012 15:04

Just checking in on you, Bugsy. It's total pants you're feeling like you're in limbo. I hope you've been able to rest a bit and perhaps gotten another scan referral.

Absolutely mind fuck, this early pregnancy business.

Hope the 16 week appoint went well, Dory.

I'm quietly panicking and hoping for the best. I've stupidly read some very sad MN mc threads. Our appoint to start the progesterone is tomorrow although I've nearly convinced myself that something has already gone wrong... Sad

FriendofDorothy · 02/07/2012 15:27

Yes appointment went well and heard heartbeat which was a relief.

When I think back to those three weeks of bleeding that I had, including bright red blood, I remember how scary it was.

I think I bled from about weeks 8-11. It took ages to settle down and I had two internal scans in that time.

Great news Dor -hearing that heartbeat is so amazing. My midwife told me, in her experience, if it sounds like a chugging train, it's a girl, and if it sounds like a galloping horse, it's a boy...

Bugs hope you're hanging in there. Do you have any reason, except LMP, to think you're 8+4? I mean, did you pee on ov sticks or chart your temp? I seem to remember that your first BFPs were very faint, and you had that freakout with the CBD -could it not just be that you ov'd much later than you thought?
I've been TTC almost 3 years, and have at times charted, peed on shag dictators, monitored CM, you name it. I thought I knew how I worked inside out and I was convinced I knew when I'd ov'd with this pregnancy, yet both the 8 week, 12 week and 20 week scans have consistently proved me wrong (6 days further along than I thought each time).

I know it is no help for other people to say 'oh yeah I had that too' but it definitely helped later on if you know what I mean.

When I was in panic mode it didn't help at all to know that other people had gone through something similar. All I can remember is blind fear. Later on though I remember reading through other people's posts and being grateful that people had shared their experiences with me.

I hope that you will get to have that experience too.

Very glad to hear about the heartbeat Dor. Did you display more dignity than me or sob through the rest of your appointment?

Hope everyone else is doing well. Is Jewels still lurking?

We'll all be there with you tomorrow Bugs.. Lots of luff.

FriendofDorothy · 03/07/2012 07:56

No I was alright at this appointment. The last ones I sobbed my way through until they told me I had to calm down because it was hard to get a picture!

LauraPalmer · 03/07/2012 08:27

I know what you mean about sobbing through scans Dor! Last time they had to switch to an internal because I couldn't stop jiggling the scanner.

Bugs - we're with you today, hoping all goes well

FriendofDorothy · 03/07/2012 08:36

Bugs - thinking, and praying, for you today. Hope all goes well. x

KatAndKit · 03/07/2012 08:38

My ESHcandle is lit for you bugs am hoping brown goo has gone and scan will be good news.

cakeandcava · 03/07/2012 09:25

Thinking of you this morning bugs. Wishing everything is well and good news.
