I'm going to phone the surgery next time she is there and ask for a call back. I do have to go and see my Consultant again for a de-brief on the surgery so I can raise this problem while I am there and may be able to get them to sort it out. It's just so frustrating and I feel for anyone who expecting their first baby, because I know how overhwelming it all was when I was pregnant with DS.

I am so happy for you Rollo, and Cakey too! Fantastic news.

I also got my booking in and 12 wk dates at the same time so you should be ok.

Hurrah!

FriendofDorothy · 18/06/2012 15:50

Hurray! I have been menkulling a bit today. Convincing myself that everything is likely to be going wrong adn I just don't know it yet :(

CurlyCasper · 18/06/2012 15:55

Queen, last time I got my scan before my booking in. I was consultant-led, so they did the scan at my first consultant appointment at bang-on 12 weeks. Didn't get booked in with the MWs until 14 wks. A bit of an oversight Hmm. Doc said this morning that here (we've moved) I'll be booked in at 10 weeks and scanned at 12. I hope you get your appointments all sorted soon.

Lovely news from you too, Cava.

LauraPalmerish · 18/06/2012 19:12

Congrats on the happy scanage, Rollo!

I'm menkulling like mad today, too, Dory. Was with a friend when she got the call from her con saying that the bloods haven't risen and her pregnancy isn't viable. Sad It's her 4th mc this year. I'm feeling so down. And getting incredibly nervous for our scan on Friday morning.

blonderthanred · 18/06/2012 19:16

I'll join the menkul.

So nervous about tomorrow. Accidentally read some threads about 20 week scans that resulted in termination and just feel sick. Please be ok little kicking baby.

cakeandcava · 18/06/2012 20:12

The menkulling never really stops :(

Slap me if I'm coming across as all further-ahead-know-it-all (I really don't feel it) here, but try to just remember that actually, it is likely to go right. That's a statistical fact. The chances of things being fine are much higher than the chances of things going wrong.

So very sorry for your friend though LP I can't imagine what it must be like to have it go wrong for a 4th time.

blonde my 20 week scan was less than two weeks ago, it was quite intense, but in the end it was a really good experience (thankfully all was well). The sonographer will probably be quiet for long stretches of time, but it's just because they're concentrating -try not to freak out!

Hope everyone is doing something nice this evening. Fingers are firmly crossed for good scannage news tomorrow.

blonderthanred · 18/06/2012 20:31

Thank you Cakey, it's much appreciated. Not at all know-it-all.

Of course everyone's only interested in it being a gender scan, and I'm finding that difficult. I don't care if it has a willy or a fanjo as long as its face and brain and heart are ok. I'll be alright, just a bit aaaaaaargh.

Thinking of Bugs, I'm sure you're the same this eve. Will have everything crossed for you.

Hope so too. Good luck Bugs.

FriendofDorothy · 18/06/2012 22:24

I am really tearful night. I keep worrying unnecessarily and find myself thinking of things that could go wrong. I think things not going well with buying this house are not helping either. I keep waking up in the middle of the night but sitting bolt upright and shouting or talking. I usually only do this when I am quite stressed :(

blonderthanred · 18/06/2012 22:51

We all seem to be the same tonight. It's not easy all this.

popping in to say i'm thinking of you today bugs and will check back later for news x

LauraPalmerish · 19/06/2012 08:45

I'm thinking of you too, Bugs!

cakeandcava · 19/06/2012 09:49

Thinking of bugs and blonde this morning. Fingers crossed for both of you.

dor sorry you're feeling stressed -it probably is a combination of house selling and pregnancy hormones. Pregnancy just makes you feel more fragile I think -in some ways you could almost see menkulling as a good symptom. Doesn't make it easier though.
The weeks between the 12 week scan and around week 18-19 are weird anyway -it feels like nothing is happening, and nothing is really showing. But in a few weeks, you'll start feeling tiny little movements, and you'll start to bulge up a bit, and it'll hopefully feel more real and reassuring.

queenrollo · 19/06/2012 10:09

I just told my mum I'm pregnant. She managed to muster more enthusiasm this time than when I told her I was pregnant with DS.

Oh bugs I am so so sorry that it doesn't look good. That is only two days difference in dating though, is there any chance that they could be two days out. Scanning at six weeks is notoriously inaccurate so I hope that you have a rescan arranged for ten days time. They need to see a fetal pole of 5mm with no hb before they can diagnose a miscarriage unless the sac is empty. Did the sonographer tell you that it was a no-go or did they say it was too early to tell? I am not usually one for giving people false hope but before 7-8 weeks it often is just that bit too early to tell. The waiting time is really really horrid though. I really really hope that you are wrong. You must be feeling dreadful, it's awful to get psyched up for a scan and then come home without the good news.

LauraPalmerish · 19/06/2012 11:32

Also not one for giving false hopes but I've heard of many positive outcomes in this situation - it's so early and as Kit said, early scans are notoriously off by a bit because everyone's growth is a bit different. This is why my GP wanted to book me more towards 8 wks. (Because we're keeping hush about the pregnancy to TinyTOM we couldn't take the weekend appoint she originally booked for us, so we're going in Friday which is approx. 7+3)

Did they take your bloods to test hcg levels? Perhaps that could provide some much deserved reassurance between now and your scan next week?

I hear ya, sister. When is someone going to create a non-alcoholic gin that still gets you loopy??

cakeandcava · 19/06/2012 11:39

bugs I'm really sorry, that is so so shitty. It's horrible, that feeling at the scan when you're not being told what you hoped for.
Not sure if you're in a still-hopeful or trying-to-come-to-terms mood, but regarding the former, you are only two days out, and with your ov dates being one of two options, plus the possibility that conception took place the day after ov, a two day difference is not impossible at all.
Are you going back for another scan next week?
