D day here is now def 15th Feb (elective Caesar) unless bub gets a move on before then! So we will have a pre-labour Valentine's day (possibly with 3 y o DS in tow as we did last year - the 3 of us all went out to lunch at a local brasserie Smile).

littlemonkeybix · 28/01/2012 12:23

Enjoy your valentines day xx

Kayano · 28/01/2012 12:35

Xavielli · 28/01/2012 13:34

Kayano · 28/01/2012 13:48

I want your labour!

Congratulations!!!!

TheWicketKeeperIsDown · 28/01/2012 15:54

Good grief, has anyone told these babies it's the February bus?! There's going to be hardly anyone left with a bump by Feb the rate we're going!

Emz33 · 28/01/2012 16:06

Wow so exciting all the babies! Are any of the babies first babies? X

McQueasy · 28/01/2012 17:48

Firstly congratulations to all the new arrivals.
As I'm due 26th and have been overdue with long inductions twice I am thinking of starting a grumpy and jealous bus where those of us who are realistically going to be pregnant for much longer than we should can go for sanctuary. Away from the short labour stories and free from people telling us to eat curries, drink raspberry leaf tea, clean the floor and have sex Angry
I tell you, I have heart burn if I look at a curry, raspberry leaf tea makes me vomit, I am 9 months pregnant and in no condition to clean the stairs. As for sex????? He doesn't deserve it for getting me into this state!!!!!!!
Rant over.
Love and best wishes to all on the bus xxx

deardear · 28/01/2012 19:17

Sex is out of the question here - baby is too low and I have four weeks to go! I felt something bulging down there earlier and am getting very out of breath when I do stuff. Was supposed to be going to a village quiz with some friends tonight but woke up with a sore throat again and have sinusitis and earache so have had a hot bath and cooking fish risotto for tea then going to crash in front of the fire. I can't sit normally anymore either as it's really painful low down on the front of my belly if I do - same with driving - I have to sit with my legs well spread!

DD1 says this is my 9 month hangover frm my infamous night out on the town for friends birthday.

OddEyes · 28/01/2012 20:19

xavielli huge congratulations! Lovely and quick and beautiful name! Please tell me itching has stopped?

woowa · 28/01/2012 20:48

COngrats Xav!!! Fab news and yes, beautiful name!

STILL no baby here, nothing whatsoever has happened today, so I'mguessing the sweep hasn't worked...and i'll be induced on tuesday...well,that's fine! AT least my mum will be here then to look after DD,at the moment plans are a little adhoc!

DH and I been fraught with each other all day again. We're both SO on edge about this, best if we aren't in the same room!!!

MW came round BP back to normal.

Back to waiting lots

39+4 xx

ZhenThereWereTwo · 28/01/2012 23:03

Congratulations Xav, glad it went so smoothly for you, love the name (it is my DD's middle name Grin) Thanks

Hope things are happening with you too Woowa

Loving all the birth announcements, I am very excited now about DD2's arrival, although she needs to hold off a little longer until I have a kitchen.

DH painting our room this weekend so that it is all ready for new arrival, once that is done I can put the cot up and it will all suddenly seem very real!

herecomesthsun · 29/01/2012 03:06

Many congrats Xav and fantastic timing on the labour front.

I have just acquired one of these. I am also thinking of getting an Ergo (maybe it would be good to have an alternative carrier that is a bit less pink that DH can wear!)

TopazMortmain · 29/01/2012 03:09

Babies already! Yay!

Lots of Braxton Hicks here and hoping for a sweep tomorrow because the combination of insomnia, vomiting and waddling is making me crazy Grin

39+2

Xavielli · 29/01/2012 09:47

Oddeyes - yes my itching has gone completely! There was another lady with OC on the ward and she was still struggling :(

OddEyes · 29/01/2012 11:01

Xav so leased itching gone for you. Thought of baby and itching still, poor woman. Hope you get home soon.
I am in for monitoring again, last time before tomorrow's IOL.

notcitrus · 29/01/2012 11:03

Congrats xav!

Good news here is my bloods and 24-hr-urine came back normal, so I don't need inducing this week. They do want to check my bp every couple days though, so hopefully can get GP to do that rather than 30-min bus ride each way!

37+0 - suspect something might happen in the next couple weeks as dc2's head is shoved well into my unhappy pelvis. I seem to have acquired a nesting instinct mixed with total inability to pick anything off the floor, which is not helpful!

Ray81 · 29/01/2012 13:45

Hello ladies, another one lurking and not posting.

Congrats to all those that have their babies i am alittle Envy of you all.

I am 38 + 1 today and i have not yet packed my hospital bag, i started last week and then paniced because this means i am having a baby and i had to stop and hide the bag under the bed. Have not been able to get it out since. I REALY must get on a pack it.

My mum and sister threw me a surprise baby shower yesterday, i am not realy into them, but it was a realy nice surprise and i got some very useful bits (nappies, wipes, vests, baby chair etc) so i dont have to do so much shopping to do now thank goodness.

I am starting to worry about i am going to cope with 22 month old DD2 and a baby, DD1 will be fine as she is 10 next month and very helpful BUT we are still co sleeping with DD2 and i tried to get her into her own bed last week and she FREAKED OUT big time and i dont want to stop co sleeping as i love it tbh. I cannot co sleep with DD2 and a new baby though so he will have to go into the moses basket and that makes me a little sad. I know some arent into co sleeping but i realy do enjoy it and it makes me life so much easier, atm anyway Grin.

Has anyone got a nursing chair and if you have do you use it? i have been thinking about getting one, you can get them on ebay for £99 but dont want to get one if i dont use it ifswim. However as i am not going to be able to co sleep with new baby i wonder if i need somewhere comfortable to breast feed in the night rather then sitting on the end of the bed or having to get up and go downstairs.

38+1 today. Baby boy can stay in for alittle longer as i am not ready yet, emontionaly at least Grin

phlossie · 29/01/2012 16:04

whoo-hoo with the babies! I think there are 5 now? I might be wrong... But we're going good guns considering it's not even Feb yet!

DH and I had a lovely weekend without our big two courtesy of my M&D. We went to Bath Spa, which is just lovely - you should go if you get the chance. Then we stayed in a lovely Somerset pub - chilled in our room, had an amazing 3 course meal, and then the best night's sleep I've had for ages. Followed by a lie-in with the Sunday papers and a delicious full English. Amazing!

I've been having loads of CM plus strong, painful BH. In fact, DH and I had a discussion about who was most fit to drive last night - me in labour, or him after 3 glasses of wine and a G&T!

xx

hermionejgranger · 29/01/2012 18:15

Hi all...wonderful news about all the babies!! Woowa I hope things get started for you soon!

We've just got back from a wedding in London - was lovely and had a fantastic time but now it feels as though my back and hips belong to someone else after the dancing I was doing last night! Bert had a bit of a quiet day yesterday but us back to "his" normal wriggly self today - maybe he wasn't taken with the music...

Phlossie your weekend sounds ace - really jealous (although we had a fab time this weekend!).

Going to have KFC for dinner tonight because we can't be bothered to cook. Starting to get hungry now actually but DH is on the phone to MIL so it'll be a while!

37+2 (and fairly happy to go into labour whenever now...) x

babycarmen · 29/01/2012 19:40

Love all these babies coming!! Grin
TMI-
Not much new with me, Me and DP 'did the deed' last night and ohmyword his prostaglandins must be on top form Blush i started having really strong, painful contractions and back ache straight away, nothing like BHs, which lasted a few hours and after paracetamol, hot water bottle and lots of moaning they tailed off around 1am and i got some sleep, felt fine this morning! Been getting regular BHs the whole day today (every 30 mins ish) but theyre not sore or anything. Had some pink watery stuff after i wiped (sorry if tmi), no idea what that was but was only a tiny bit. Think i lost more of my show today too.

7 days til Dday and 9 days til my sweep but could still be ages yet!

FundusCrispyPancake · 29/01/2012 20:51

Hi everyone, not been on MN for ages and thought I'd check on how you are all doing now Feb is nearly here.......

Shock can't believe so many have already had babies!!! Congratulations! Grin

I've been thinking 'oh there's ages yet' but maybe not!

37+0

phlossie · 29/01/2012 21:06

Me too, babycarmen - exactly the same -pinkish discharge and contractions! x

claricestar · 29/01/2012 23:09

another one who's on been on for ages! 37 weeks tomorrow...hospital bag still not packed (DC1 and 2 both late anyway). wrote a massive housework/nesting list so have loads I NEED to do before this baby can make an appearance!

Ray81...I'm in a similar situation with DD who is 2 in a couple of weeks. She has her own bed but migrates to mine during the night (and sleeps across it pushing me to the edge...while pulling my hair usually!) so baby will have to go in a moses basket next to the bed for his/her own safety! Don't want to push DD out yet as she is going through a clingy phase at the moment.

I am more worried about her filling baby's moses basket with toys and blankets etc to be "helpful". I am going to have to be super vigilant! DS is 6 and he will be fine. He was 4 when DD was born and understood my instructions and explanations on why he should never put things in the moses basket for baby to play with!
