Right then my lovelies, this thread is going sloooooowly now we have our little secret facebook group Smile

But we need to keep posting here for people who haven't joined our other group, so keep on going!

If anyone wants to join the facebook group, can they ask someone cleverer than me and they will set it up for you!

Old thread is here

Sorry carmen, you'll just have to cope with cake as I refuse to go into labour right now!

Can someone tell me if you're supposed to only use brand new mattresses in moses baskets as the shop sites don't say but if dc2 is sleeping in one for the first few months surely it would make sense like for cotbeds?

Have chased friend for other baby stuff I'm missing, but I think I'll be ok... better pack that hospital bag tomorrow...

I'm about 1-3/5 engaged but the MW didn't want to press hard because of my SPD and said it didn't matter at this point as baby is clearly heading in the right direction (ds was breech until 38+6ish, and him turning was really uncomfortable!)

woowa · 25/01/2012 20:34

notcitrus - i'm not getting a new mattress for moses basket, i guess it depends what condition it looks in! They don't get used for AGES like cot matrtresses do, only a couple of months.

thought waters had gone earlier, seems it was a false alarm...don't know what it was though!! And strong BH too... come to bed in a pad in case...

COME ON BABY (two days til sweep :))

Ooh so much exciting stuff here!

I have fed in a woven wrap but not a stretchy, there is a good youtube vid showing how to do it. Also the funny shaped woman blog did a post about slings and bfing which was really helpful. Can get links when i'm on pc if you like? Really its a case of being confident feeding then being confident wrapping before trying to combine the 2.

Anyone having loads of ewcm. Its not just dhs contribution as its every wipe sorry tmi but I never remember this much before! Its not plug coloured but boy its copius.

Really hoping not to get to 40 wks as struggling now especially with the other dcs.

OddEyes · 26/01/2012 00:48

Basically ran to school pushing dd, twinges but nought else. Sad I know show doesn't mean right now but thought along with being dilated and sweep I was off.
Still praying I go tonight before dh goes down to Southampton for a meeting tomorrow.
Tomorrow: diabetic midwife, then fetal monitoring 1hr, then big break over lunch, but not bring able to eat lunch as have liver scan in afternoon. Then peg it back for school pick up.
Sorry no b'day pressie from me NC.

woowa · 26/01/2012 21:04

it's very quiet here today! Is everyone in labour??!!

MIght try BFing with wrap this time queenfee - might made DD's life easier if i don't have to stop so much. What sort of top do you recommend to do it?! BF top, button up or lift up??? Trying to get my head round BFing again, i feel like I've only just stopped, but it was 10 months ago!

No mucus here i'm afraid, just dripping wee continually. ug. Sweep tomorrow, AT HOME, which feels a bit weird. Must make sure bedroom looks vaguely sterile!! GOing to take DD to swimming lesson first, just to try and pack in as many fun things as possible before I can't do much for a while!!

Right. Can't wait to meet this baby now! COME ON BABY!!

No labour here, but only 35+3 so probably a good thing! :)

Had meeting at VBAC clinic today, they were really positive about my chances of natural birth this time around and baby sounds happy in there so came away feeling :)

Also nearly got everything for hospital bag sorted too.

Now just have to prepare for having no kitchen next week whilst the new one is fitted Confused

QueenFee · 27/01/2012 02:58

I had most of my sweeps at home.
I wear layers so pull one up one down works for me. Strappy top under any normal top pulled up. I only stopped in July so also feels very recent but feeding a toddler is so different to a newborn, i've just been here lying contemplating it.

Awake with heartburn after nocturnal visits from dd and ds1. Really struggling now and praying this baby comes soon cause I cant cope anymore.

Zhen i'm 37+2 this baby is more than welcome to come. I am so fed up I was contemplating a session with the breastpump earlier to get things going :o

I wonder where everyone is!

patsdeadfrank · 27/01/2012 09:22

ahhhhhhhhhhhhh dada

phlossie · 27/01/2012 09:47

I'm here. Just a bit broken, that's all. The chore that is having a head full of cold as well as being the best part of 38 weeks pregnant and mothering two children is taking it's toll. I was up in the wee hours this morning steaming my head. Having been wishing baby would come out now, I'm now wanting it to stay in until I get over this cold and get to rest.

My parents are having the children this weekend, so dh and I are going to Bath Spa and the cinema and then to stay in a nice b&b. I'm really looking forward to that! Hopefully I can get some serious sleep, too.

I'm still here too, been lurking but not posting, sorry Blush so I'll give you a quick update...

Was in hospital Monday evening after having reduced movements on the back of really bad braxton hicks. Kept me in for a good few hours because I had high blood pressure and they kept losing baby on the trace, sent home and told to relax. Get to yesterday and I wake up with puffy fingers and have to wrestle my rings off Smile then around lunchtime got a migraine where I couldn't see so rang MAU and then rang my mum crying, having a panic attack. DH was working ages from home so ended up at my normal MW appointment instead of hospital. No high bp or protein in urine but told I'm not to move off the sofa/bed until I go into labour Sad

37 weeks tomorrow and bored already! Got friends coming round for a takeaway tonight but I'm used to walking for hours with the dog or meeting people to walk with and that's completely off limits now.
Midwife told me I've been doing too much exercise and my body wants me to stop, was a bit Hmm because I thought I'd been quite lazy but I'll do what she says Grin

Woke up with a bad head this morning but put it down to getting 8 hours sleep for the first time in ages. Also been banned from watching OBEM by MW as she thinks it is 'subconsciously affecting my anxiety'

Hopefully I'll be cheered up in no time with lots of new baby news and pictures Grin

PDog · 27/01/2012 11:25

I've been lurking, just not posted in awhile. I now have everything I need for hospital bag so am doing some washing and then it will be ready to pack.

My mission to find a decent but cheap button down nightie to give in birth failed so I am now forced to give birth in a Winnie the pooh nightie - the shame, I am almost 33 yo Blush.

Also coming to terms with tha fact that I will have to go through early stages of labour with one relative or another in the house. Not ideal but no other options really unless I give birth alone and dh stays with DD, which neither of us want. Sad

Don't envy you zhen. Hope things go according to plan though.

Sounds like a lovely weekend phlossie. Hope it makes you feel better.

Good luck oddeyes. Any movements yet?

Good luck with the sweep woowa. Hope it gets things started for you.

Gooseysgirl · 27/01/2012 11:40

Queenfee ditto here on the CM, driving me insane... going through a small fortune of the Always liners.. have had it all along, consultant said it was a healthy sign of pregnancy Hmm but it's definitely after getting worse - and I still have over 4 weeks to go!!!

Pdog not sure if I saw it on this thread or another but I'm off to Matalan this afternoon to pick up this button down if they have it in stock.. only £8!

www.matalan.co.uk/fcp/product/fashion-to-buy-online/Nightwear/Leaf-Print-Nightie/48353&resultsPerPage=100&attrList=Dept,brand

Sorry couldn't do the link properly but if you copy and paste to your browser it should work!

TheWicketKeeperIsDown · 27/01/2012 11:57

Pdog, I also have a cerise and white stripey Pooh nightie to give birth in Grin. I bought it for the purpose when I had DD 3 years ago, and again it was the only suitable and dead cheap one I could find. I showed it to DH when I got home - he's the type who's never away from the reduced shelf at the supermarket, so thought he'd be pleased at the bargain. His response? "Huh, THAT'll look nice in the photos". Angry. Anyway, I now have some sort of emotional attachment and feel I have to give birth in it again!

I had THE worst heartburn of my life last night, and that's going some. Gaviscon x multiple wasn't touching it, nor propping myself up in bed. Couldn't get to sleep for hours so I'm exhausted today. Only another 3 and a bit weeks to go, hopefully!

babycarmen · 27/01/2012 12:27

Yeah i need liners too thanks to the CM :/ Wasnt this much with DD im sure of it! Just been using asda cheapy ones though.

Back ache has been terrible the last few nights, hot baths and paracetamol is helping. Last night i had strong BHs with it too, started getting nervous but they settled down, had a very stressful and tearful day yesterday though so thats probably why.

DD is full of the cold today bless her, she never gets ill. So lots of cuddles (and not so many kisses - really dont want to be ill when im pushing out a baby!)

10 days til D Day :O Keep looking at my tummy thinking "How on earth is there a baby in there..."

Xavielli · 27/01/2012 14:16

Hi! Been in being induced since 7am, had gel but not much happening.

CoffeeOne · 27/01/2012 14:20

Hello all! Another one guilty of lurking and not posting sorry! I'm also on the liners too. Before I started using them I was paranoid I was damp due to waters leaking! Plodding along as normal here. Aches and pains as to be expected but happily now on maternity leave :)

woowa how did your sweep go??

full term tomorrow Grin

littlemonkeybix · 27/01/2012 14:29

Well I have just come back from the hospital for a clinic appointment my MW got for me regarding my worries over size... Got another scan (hello pip!!) and all is "ok" but I am on the top line on all the measurement charts.

The consultant has offered me a new scan @36 weeks and induction @ 38 weeks... But that would be on the labour ward, so I couldnt have my preferred MLU... I'm in a quandry Sad

I said no, but have a week to change my mind.

Anyway, from my notes, I have worked out at 34 and a half weeks I am 6.5lb... so on due date i would be 9.5 lb... and if 2 weeks over 10.5 lb...

so big, but not mega...

Going to have a big talk with DP tonight and see what we conclude. It would be nice to have a date, but then I wanted a more relaxed (is this possible) birth on the MLU... I think he was more concerned that bringing the date forward meant that he'd have a mega rush on for the bedroom and nursery!!! Wink

Anyway, off for a headwrecking meeting where I am supposed to be thinking about work, but will be spending the whole time pondering baby weights, birth dates and potential inductions!!

patsdeadfrank · 27/01/2012 17:18

hey monkey my last was 10.5 and i didnt tear or any thing. i really dont understand all this scaremongering about baby size. are you really tiny?

phlossie · 27/01/2012 20:48

I'd refuse the induction, monkey. If you're in MLU and there's trouble because the baby's big, you'll get rescued. Plus, you could be like patsdeadfrank and have a whopper and not tear, or you could be like me and your 'whopper' is not much over 8lbs at 42 weeks!

I'm getting through the panty-liners too! It's lush!

Go Xavielli xxx

woowa · 27/01/2012 20:59

Hi all

Sweep was, er, fine! MW said I was 2-3cm dilated and she really didn't think i'd need to be induced on Tuesday Grin, i've had some tightenings which have been mildly painful, but mostly calm, guess I'm in prelabour. I didn't have this with DD, just went straight into labour so DH and I have been barneying all afternoon about whether I am or am not in labour. I'm saying I don't know, he says I must know. VERY TIRESOME!! Anyway, as it's all calm now DD is in bed, I'm in bed and DH will turn up at some point, and I'm assuming nothing interesting willl happen until tomorrow, at the earliest. Hoping nothing happens, more like, so that I can at least get DD up and dressed and dropped at friends' house if that's what's needed!! My parents will arrive in monday afternoon (they are 300 miles away), so even if i have to throw DD out tomorrow it really won't be for very long!

ARGH, it's all feeling a bit real and now I'm scared.

deardear · 27/01/2012 22:03

Sorry pregnancy brain - what exactly is CM? I have panty liners on all the time as well use to lot of discharge. Also can't remember being like this with the ther two.

Loads of BH again a cant now go o slep on sofa as can't get comfy. Had nearly an hour in bed this afternoon before I poked kids up from school. dD1 is pleased with herself this week as she has got an A in her geography mock GCSE'S and also in her English drama. Sorted out her options or year 11 as try hanged it all this week which ended in tears. She has decided she wants o o into teaching so has chosen law and also ICT. Hope she gets te ICT - the Law she should get as she has done GCSE history this year which will stand her in good stead.

Nice o see another baby on the bus :)

Friend is in labour tonight with her first. Poor girl has Ben in slow labour or 48 hours already and still only 4cm. Can see them doing an emergency section on her.

PamBeesly · 27/01/2012 23:37

Woowa hopeflly it won't be too long now! :)

I'm loving all the little babies arriving, its so exciting!

deardear I think CM is cervical mucus?? Maybe I'm wrong. I'm also another person who could take out shares in a pantyliner company...

hermionejgranger · 28/01/2012 06:39

Woowa hope things progress OK for you now! Hoping the opposite for me though - having had pineapple smoothies and a huge curry last night for dinner I'm now hoping i don't go into labour as it's my cousin's wedding today and we are travelling to twickenham! Have had one night with lots of tightenings earlier in the week, pooing lots (sorry tmi) and feeling ropey but nothing really since. Tummy is incredibly itchy but i think Bert has had a growth spurt so that would explain that. sleep still eludes me but now I've finished work I'm a lot more chilled about that.

It's ever so exciting with all these new babies on the bus! Grin

37+1! Aaargh!

littlemonkeybix · 28/01/2012 11:13

Keeping everything crossed for you woowa!!

Hermione that's all sounding v exciting Grin

Nothing more to report here except me n DP discussed options last night... happy to not be induced (although all his lady colleagues said do it) My choice though... and that's no Smile
