Yay for flapjack!!

Well, still no baby. Tried walking, bouncing on the ball, spicy food, clary sage bath, but no, shes not budging. Had stabby pains in my cervix, not sure if its babys head pressing down or what? No signs apart from that though, she will probably be late! Mw tomorrow so will see what she says, hopefully give me some good news seen as its my birthday tomorrow too Grin

Lots to do today but its gone 2pm and all ive managed is a shower.. no motivation at all!

Ooh babies! Well after the MW appt this morning I really don't think I am going to make it to the end of Feb! He is already 3/5ths engaged at 35 weeks. The girls arrived at 2/5ths. Worked out yesterday that soph was 2 weeks early going on my conceived date (royal wedding of Sophie and Edward!). They did say at the hospital they thought she looked early and as my periods were all over the place at the time they went on my scan date which is always out. Rang DH when I got back and he said are your bags packed lol. I re did them yesterday but just have to put my slippers and dressing gown in. DD1 has said I can borrow her pink snakeskin (fake) case of I want so might transfer it all over yet. It's currently in a kiddies pink ballerina case lol.

He is very low, very wriggly and it's getting painful to drive now as well as he insists on head butting me!

Been and done a massive Aldi stock up this morning and just done a huge butcher run to stick up on mince, stewing beef, sausages etc so I can at least leave stuff ready to cook. Going to do a huge stew tomorrow and freeze it.

phlossie · 24/01/2012 16:22

Congratulations Flapjack! I think the babies are going to start coming thick and fast now!

I don't want to pre-empt Esme, but she had her bundle on Monday. I'll let her tell you the rest when she gets the chance!

I'm totally and utterly exhausted and fed up. I've got a really annoying cough, and I'm just generally shattered and moody and fed up with trying to keep our house clean enough for viewings and keeping up with the other two children. I know sleepless nights are to follow, but I could do with getting this baby out now! And I may have a month left going by how late the other two were... bah.

YAY - babies babies babies... Keep em coming ladies!

Nice to hear of a quick one flapjack Grin

I'll be logging all the stories in my head, as I'll prob be last off the bus... and have megafear about childbirth.... positives (even lengthy painful positives) are welcome Wink

woowa · 24/01/2012 20:05

congrats flapjack and esme :) Hope she gets on here soon!

Saw MW and told her i'm having induction next tuesday, she said if it were her she'd want a sweep before that, and offered me one there and then. That was WAY too big a decision to make at that moment in time! But then she saw i'm having a MW visit on friday to check BP, so I'm going to have a sweep on friday. At home! eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeek. Very exciting. COME ON BABY!!!

other than that, just tired and baby very wriggly, and feet getting a bit bigger now and house still a tip, but trying to do little bits each day so that MIL/MW aren't horrified when they come round...

39 weeks today :)

babycarmen · 24/01/2012 20:20

Oooh let us know how you get on with the sweep woowa!

m1nn1em0u5e · 24/01/2012 20:43

39+6 today, saw Midwife, she wouldnt do a sweep until next Tuesday :( Booked for induction 6th Feb if no joy before then!..Hopefully it wont come to that.

She did recommend a bath 'bomb' which apparently is a combination of essential oils labour ward supply to try & encourage labour! Got to go & pick my 'bomb' up on Thursday morning!..I will try anything :)

Come on babies!..

ZhenThereWereTwo · 24/01/2012 20:46

Yay! Congratulations flapjack, well done Thanks

Congratulations also to Esme, hope it all went well Thanks

Thanks to all those who posted their concern, DD (2.7) is fine, the colourful bump on her hard noggin is going down and I have made a complaint to bus company who are viewing the footage then getting back to me.

Hope appt goes well tomorrow babyc

Sounds promising deardear, once they get to 3/5 can they still bob up and down or do they stay put (can't remember)?

Exciting about the sweep woowa, hope it kicks things off over the weekend for you.

Packed hospital bag and babies bag today, just got to get one or two more things to go in tomorrow and it is done. Looks like they will be doing our kitchen next week, once the electrician has finished his re-wiring this week, just in time :)

woowa · 24/01/2012 22:21

zhen - it is amazing how bad bus drivers can be, with their slamming on brakes, going round corners too fast, and pushchairs don't survive well under those sorts of circumstances. Hope your DD's bump has gone down lots tomorrow.

notcitrus · 24/01/2012 23:19

Congratulations flapjack! Glad to hear of a nice fairly short birth after a long first labour (my first was very long...)

Consultant and MW tomorrow - annoyingly cons only work mornings and MW team afternoons, so have long break between. And at least one of the appts will be redundant but don't know which until the con says whether they want to hang onto me or not. Hopefully they won't. My parents will be having nice lunch with ds and I'd like to join them as I can't drive myself atm.

zhen - hope dd is better. Ds had that happen once, though the driver got harangued by a mass of elderly ladies who also shouted down the one twit who told me it was my fault. Luckily applying some frozen veg in the supermarket and then buying a toy in the charity shop calmed him down and hardly any bump was visible.

Time for bed.

deardear · 25/01/2012 11:01

Think they can still pop out at 3/5ths but hoping not. Had DD1s option evening last night for year 11 and truly thought at one stage my waters were about to go I was that uncomfortable. I was shuffling about like someone with ants in their pants!

Have just done a huge stew for tea/freezing and tidied up cooker and sides. Made. Intake of sitting down for a coffee and now stalled. Bleurgh. Really need to get my arse in gear and do the kitchen floor as after a wet day yesterday it stinks of wet dog. It's slate so can't see the muck :)

OddEyes · 25/01/2012 12:52

No more babies yet?
Not had any comment on engagement, doesn't look like she has dropped at all but when doc rooting round up there he said she was low...
Big bit of plug last night, got excited again but woke up disappointed this morning.
Back to manic nesting, just cleaned pram with dd, not really worth the mess she made but she enjoyed it and kept telling me all about 'baby sister'.
Went a bit mad on eBay last night. I bought a moby wrap and a pramsuit, both for probably more than others were going for but had a 'I want it' moment. Think dh should hide my cards soon this week have also made a gap shop and John Lewis shop. And there is me reassuring dh that this is going to be a cheap dd as we gave everything already ;) Opps!

OddEyes · 25/01/2012 12:53

Got an email from a friend last night talking about 'inducement' - love it sounds like they are going to coax her out with a lolly. If only!!

OddEyes · 25/01/2012 13:38

Loves 'Show me, show me!' just did groovy moves on ball with dd and...massive show! Am hoping a brisk school run should do it...

[bgrin] babies!! - has anyone here managed to feed in a Moby wrap (tempted)

Gooseysgirl · 25/01/2012 14:34

Hello everyone, it's lovely to hear of new arrivals.. congrats to one and all :)
I've still got 5 weeks to go - I'll probably be one of the last to pop! At last MW appt baby's head was well down but not engaged. Miraculously since she has dropped, my upper back pain has gone Grin - I'm getting some lower back pain now but it's nothing compared to what I had before... phew! Still have the sausage fingers - v annoying and sore but I can live with it for another few weeks, have been for lots of bloods, seen GP and registrar and the conclusion was inflamed fingers which they will treat post-natally if it's still a problem - they said it wasn't carpal tunnel after all, and thankfully definitely not pre-eclampsia.
Have started maternity leave - loving it! Quite organised now with bags packed and most of the baby stuff ready at home - going to enjoy these final few weeks of freedom - catch up with friends etc, but also very excited to meet our baby girl at long last :)

littlemonkeybix · 25/01/2012 16:27

Leaving lunch organised... there's a bunch of us going to a carvery for a big fat scran [bgrin] YUM

Cheap and cheerful... yay!

Plus have some vouchers for buy 2 for a tenner.

Goosey I am suffering intermittently with fat fingers, and fat feet. MW wasnt worried about me either, but it's a bit of a pita when sat at desk trying to type!!

No more news here really... except feeling like a beach ball... glamorous!

notcitrus · 25/01/2012 18:19

Argh - so much for brief appts today! Consultant was 1.5 hours late, which led to mixups as the MW came in for the appt in the middle of it, and as my parents had been looking after ds for 2 hours rather than 30 min, I insisted on going to tell them what was going on (no mobile reception in the antenatal clinic...)

Looked like it was going to be OK though consultant wanted some more bloods tested before officially allowing me back to the MWs. Then realised I don't get a 38-week appt as it's 2nd baby, so then discussed birth, postnatal issues, and the vital question of parking! Just hope I don't need to arrive between 9 and 5 as parents had to wait ages in the car park for a space, and the alternative is feeding meters on the street...

But then they realised I have too much protein in urine and have had traces before. So I have the joy of collecting all wee for 24 hours, but at least they agreed to let me do it at home and bring them their jerrycan back tomorrow night. And my blood pressure was higher than before - probably because I wasn't ill with scarily low bp, and had been told that they'd called me 3 times but the divots put my MW notes which say "DEAF - fetch for appts" and my other notes (ditto) into a folder for the consultant... which says nothing of the sort! Well it does now after I made them get a marker pen...

So they may want to induce me next week (37+1) !!!
I know they said I'd give birth 'sometime in Feb' but aaagh!!!

babycarmen · 25/01/2012 18:45
