...and those of us left are doing a fair bit of bitching:o

I wonder if we could get a [pompoms] going on? Do we have the energy for a campaign?Wink

Right, come on! We're a third of the way through the month and Nickelbabe needs new recruits for her advent thread. Get squeezing:o

Tyel and MrTyel Huge congratulations on the birth of your son. It sounds like you've been through a very traumatic time but that you've both coped brilliantly. You can move on from here and just enjoy the exciting journey of parenthood ahead. Look forward to hearing an update from tyel when she's home, and to seeing a photo.

BaaBaaHumbug · 15/12/2011 03:13

Thanks for the update Tyel's DH, lovely to hear how pleased you are to be a Dad despite it not starting the way you planned.

Hohohomouse · 15/12/2011 04:24

Sorry guys, couldnt live update on the birth. Went from 2-8 without pain relief incredibly quickly (think about 2 hours, very rare apparently so don't be scared induction kids. However all good now with baby girl (name tbc) born 11.16 at 5lbs 8ozs. She is amazing.

bennybenbear · 15/12/2011 06:16

Huge congrats Tyel and Mr Tyel and HoHoHoMouse!!
Glad you are all doing ok now.
What a moving post from Mr Tyel, bless!

ChristmasPullyWoolOver · 15/12/2011 06:36

Congratulations hoho that's wonderful news!

And well done tyel and mrtyel it sounds like it was scary at times, but you got through it together and have a gorgeous baby to snuggle up to. Huge congratulations to you too x

mopsytop · 15/12/2011 08:14

Yay congrats Tyel and Hoho - great news!

Really sorry to hear you didn't get your planned birth Tyel, but delighted your baby has arrived safe and well. Sounds like a nightmare labour though, so well done you for getting through it. MrTyel you sound like such a lovely supportive partner!

Glad induction was okay Hoho, although not liking the sound of the quick dilation. Eeek! I have been having period-y crampy pains during the night which are continuing now. Going to go back to bed and have another sleep and see if they go away. Trying not to get my hopes up as have had so many crampy pains recently that have turned out to be nothing.

Plu, epic post - love it!

Waves to everyone else - hope those with babies out are enjoying(/coping!!) and to all others COME ON BABIES! GET A MOVE ON!

DarcieandSnowballsmum · 15/12/2011 08:45

Plu Epic post - Well done - I'll never be able to do that lol.

Hohoho Congratulations on your speedy birth.

Tyel MrTyel Congratulations on the birth of your DS. Shame your birth didn't go to plan but now you can enjoy your DS. Smile

No contractions over night but major pressure still. aiming to be on my feet alot to try and get things moving a little more Smile

msbaublestwinkle · 15/12/2011 09:03

Congratulations tyel and hoho, feels like the babies are coming thick and fast now!

Another great night here, no poo related screaming! We have our first mw appointment today since she was born...I'm curious about her weight as she has been bfing so well!

DarcieandSnowballsmum · 15/12/2011 09:18

Just lost a huge bit of bloody mucus - hoping the sweep done me some good Grin

aethelfleda · 15/12/2011 09:52

Huge Congratulations to tyel and hohoho! well done ladies, and enjoy snuggling your LOs.

, and not just because I have no idea of the postal rate for a Mars bar!

It's all a bit odd at this end: I've had tightenings since 3am, but they aren't particularly painful, and only about every 10 mins. I suspect this may be one of those alleged "false starts" that are meant to be more common with subsequent babies. Am pootling about on my bouncy ball, DH is staying home for a few hours to see if things rack up or settle down, and then we'll have to decide if he's off into work. I want a retrospectoscope!! (this is a medical device that enables you to move 24 hours forward in time then look backwards. Sadly no-one's actually invented one yet.)

DarcieandSnowballsmum · 15/12/2011 09:57

Aethel Xmas Grin I suspect you'll be having a baby before me!

ChristmasPullyWoolOver · 15/12/2011 10:11

Yay, come on Darcie and aethel! .

KateKringle · 15/12/2011 11:59

Congratulations Hohoho Xmas Grin

Well things are finally starting happen here too. Had very mild cramping from about 8.30pm last night - only for about 20 secs, every 15 mins - but it all seemed to stop again this morning so I was feeling quite gloomy by the time I got to MW appointment. When undressing for sweep I discovered I'd had a show between leaving home and arriving there and MW thought perhaps baby was very quietly and slowly getting on with things. She did a sweep and found me to be 2-3cm dilated, cervix not fully effaced, but she could feel the waters bulging in front of the head. She's booked me in for another sweep next Tues and induction next Thurs, but doesn't think I'll get as far as either of those.

So, there might not be anything incredibly soon but at last something is starting to happen Xmas Smile

festivefiggy · 15/12/2011 12:14

Congrats to hoho and tinsel was thinking we'd have good news today Grin and good luck to those with some progress.

Still not a twinge in sight for me so "looking forward to" sweep tomorrow.

Parents on their way minus mothers purse which she has left on plane which I have sine discovered 8 phone numbers later has since departed for Milan....wont know until 4 when it gets back to uk if anyone has the decency to hand it in. I imagine not as will be full of cash as she always carries cash so that will q lots of parental tension for next few days think the stress of it might bring on labour then I can hide at hospital and avoid it all Grin.

aethelfleda · 15/12/2011 12:21

Aaaand everything's settled down at this end. Still getting the odd twinge but nowt impressive. Hey ho, I'm still 2 weeks short of due date, so hope things will maybe kick off again tonight/tomorrow. Never mind, it's nice to have a few pompoms flung in my direction!

Off to help at DDs school Christmas party this afternoon. Ooh, the excitement of filling 24 six-year-olds with unsuitable food and letting them run up and down til they explode ......

LittleMissHumbuggery · 15/12/2011 12:47

Thanks for the kind words ladies. Dentist at a loss. Consultant gave me 30/500 co-codamol so am woozy and whee...

Huge amounts of fuzzy to falala mouse and Tyel and especially Mr Tyel It sounds like its all been hectic, but you're all fabulous:)

Right. Taking my fuzzy brain to bed again. Look after the pompomsWink

MerrySorelip · 15/12/2011 12:55

Congratulations Tyel and Mr Tyel, and Hoho.

I hurt today. Baby went a bit mental last night and had me crying out in pain with a lot of his movements. My bits feel sore. What the hell am I going to be like when I've squeezed a baby out?!

msbaublestwinkle · 15/12/2011 13:02

Blah, having a hormonal panic moment as the midwife has just been. Not that there is anything wrong...Miri has only lost 9% and is just a tiny bit jaundiced, however we had all kinds of weight loss and jaundice related drama with both of the DDs so I am a big ball of stress now. It is very silly of me as she is quite clearly fine, just brings back bad memories.

DarcieandSnowballsmum · 15/12/2011 13:10

MsBuggy I'm sure Miri is fine - nowt to worry about and your experienced with both of your Dds having Jaundice previously.

I've hoovered, cleaned kitchen, walked up & down the stairs repeatedly and no twinges but felt a very strange pressure on my cervix just now, hoping that's the baby making it dilate Smile

aethelfleda · 15/12/2011 13:14

(((((hug))))) msbuggy we both know if she's feeding well she'll feed out the jaundice soon and all will be well. Even so, I sympathise with the memory dredge-up, it can't help but be worrying for you. Hope Miri continues to BF like a trooper and gets that weight back on! Have a virtual choccy biscuit in the meantime...

Glad to hear things are moving onward for you Kate. and sorelip, a lot of the aches an pains now are "prep work": when you're delivered things will get better and better rather than worse and worse, if that makes sense?

mopsytop · 15/12/2011 13:39

Right. Twinges ongoing but nothing regular. Going to clean the bathroom and see if that helps.

mopsytop · 15/12/2011 13:39

And then maybe walk up and down the stairs sideways several times followed by a bounce on my birthing ball ... !

DarcieandSnowballsmum · 15/12/2011 13:46

Mopsy Why sideways up the stairs? x

DeckTheHawthersWithBells · 15/12/2011 13:49

Nowt happening here. 39 weeks and heading fast to another csection if I go overdue .

I know we're all in the same boat but can someone remind me of the best ways to get things moving. It's looking like a shag-athon is the most recommended route if a logistical nightmare.

mopsytop · 15/12/2011 13:49

I thought it was supposed to be good for getting baby into position? No idea why! Will google now and see if it is just nonsense!!
