...and those of us left are doing a fair bit of bitching:o

I wonder if we could get a [pompoms] going on? Do we have the energy for a campaign?Wink

Right, come on! We're a third of the way through the month and Nickelbabe needs new recruits for her advent thread. Get squeezing:o

Well I eventually got off to sleep at about 4am. DD woke just after 7. Pleased DH is here today....dragged him along to musical minis with us so he could fling DD about when we did the hokey cokey at the end Xmas Smile

40 + 2 here and still not a twinge. Seeing MW on Thurs and hoping for a sweep then, although from what you've all said I'm not sure it'll happen as the bump seems high still. Sympathies to all of you in the same boat, especially tinsel. Sounds like you're having a particularly rough time of it. Oh well, at least we know we'll meet our babies soon one way or another, even if it wasn't via the route we'd ideally planned!

sazzermol · 12/12/2011 14:32

MsB Miri is gorgeous! What a cutie, well done.
Hope everything is going well for Chinchilla today, and what a PITA Tinsel?! I'm rapidly approaching EDD (Sunday) but have had nada in the way of any signs. Getting sort of resigned to being one of the many overdueys on here Xmas Hmm

AnAirOfHope · 12/12/2011 14:37

MsB - cool thanks i could see link now and photo. Miri looks so cute Smile

I also see that you have a future nudist too - it must be a phase thing as my son is also into going around the house taking his clothes off and wiggeling his bum at us Grin

Hope is a lb heavier than Air and she is so long she has just out growen the newborn clothes even tho she is only 8lb 4oz Shock it will not be long until the 0-3 will not fit!

aethelfleda · 12/12/2011 14:38

Aw Tinsel, what a bummer about the sweep- but hopefully things will happen for you soon without having one. Think that no matter what, this time next week you will be snuggling with your DC while some of the rest of us will still be waddling!

Glad things are going OK seven and airofhope. and love the birth story/pics mrsb.

DH is off in Cambridge today: I felt a bit daft lining up my dad for possible transport duty and 3 of my friends for possible school pickup standby when it's blatantly obvious that I'm full of baby and going nowhere fast!

lots of get-on-with-it vibes for those who need them....

Oh well, tomorrow we (are meant to be getting) a shiny new modem and TivO thingy (our hard disc telly recorder is on the way out so we decided to upgrade it). Will give me something else to do, especially as I need to clear up working space for the telly man to fit the new tech in. That's assuming he turns up of course...

sevenswansaswimming · 12/12/2011 16:17

Aww msb Miri is adorable.

Things are going much better here today, we've done some CBeebies comic and duplo, and I've even managed to hoover. Now about to watch the Timmy time Xmas special witha cuppa

ChristmasPullyWoolOver · 12/12/2011 16:20

mrsb your blog and photos are amazing, reading it made me cry! X

sevenswansaswimming · 12/12/2011 16:20

airofhope you lucky thing that your DS still has naps!

festivefiggy · 12/12/2011 17:41

tinsel sorry to hear you are having problems are they going to schedule u in for induction now since u so over?

mopsytop · 12/12/2011 17:49

Hope things move for you tomorrow tinsel, you must be nearly up the walls with frustration :(

Sleighbellsinthesnow · 12/12/2011 17:57

Just had a quick skim as haven't been on thread since last week and boy have there been loads of new babies - congrats to all! My sympathies to all those still waiting - that bit really sucks.

Luke is doing well and I just love being a mum. Tried to upload photo from my phone there onto profile but it wouldn't work. V annoying.

Kri5ty - Luke also suffering from trapped wind/colic/reflux type thing. DH and I doing a tag team effort at the mo to get some sleep. I know exactly what you mean about seeing them writhing in agony - it's heartbreaking. These are the things we have tried (in case of any use - tho I think you've mentioned most)

Some cooled boiled water before feeds during the day with a touch of pure oj(recommended by midwife)
The position someone else showed earlier in the thread - pacing with him on my arm like that doesn't send him to sleep but does seem to provide some relief for him
A rolled up t shirt under his mattress to tilt at gradual/slight angle
Infacol although have been told Colief is better and now have some
Keeping him upright after feeds as much as possible

He was settled from 2am onwards last night which was great progress! M/w has suggested the gagging he appears to do may be from excess mucus - more common in C section babies as mucus gets squeezed out in journey through birth canal. She has suggested saline drops up his nose if it doesn't clear so that may be next.

Anyway..he is absolutely adorable and I love every minute with him regardless!

Hohohomouse · 12/12/2011 18:06

Bells thats so lovely to hear you are having such great Mum time - really made me well up. And msb, lovely, lovely photos and stories. Keeping up a blog along with everything else! I'm in awe :)
Can't wait until I can have my own bundle with its own snuffles and pains and cries to cuddle and care for.
I am being induced Weds morning at 8am now - this minimouse is too comfy in my pouch and doesn't want to come out at all. Not looking forward to it AT ALL but, at least I know the waiting has a deadline now. And theres still for it all to happen naturally of course (clutches desperately at straws)...

PludolphTheRedNosedReindeer · 12/12/2011 20:57

Sorry to post and run, but we had an impromptu home birth this morning: about an hour and a half after contractions started! Helena (8lbs6oz/ 3.8kg) was delivered at 5:35am by DH, my mother and an ambulance crew!

I know we have been very down on confusing correlation and causality, but just in case it's relevant, I had a raspberry leaf capsule and inhaled some clary sage. But if those did cause the birth to come on... bloody hell did it come hard and fast!

WeWishYouAMerryKitmas5824 · 12/12/2011 21:16

Blimey Plu. Well Done!

Tinselperion · 12/12/2011 21:19

My god plu, massive congratulations - what a dramatic arrival!! Hope you and baby Helena are doing well! (and your DH and mum have recovered from the shock!)

AReindeerCalledHorse · 12/12/2011 21:39

Well done Plu! Blimey, that's the way to do it Grin

TMI hairy trucker question; should I defuzz my lady garden for birth?
Is it more comfortable/convenient (thinking of stitches/MW's getting their hands up me/washing after birth) to be bald? Or does it not make a difference?

aethelfleda · 12/12/2011 21:39

Wow plu, that's fantastic, if a bit unexpected for you!
Many congratulations to you and DH. Suspect you may be a good home birth candidate next time out of sheer necessity!

aethelfleda · 12/12/2011 21:44

ARCH :I can assure you that the midwives will have seen everything from all-over number ones , to brazillians, to entire rainforests down there! It really makes no difference to them, and doesnt affect stitching pr access in any way. The hospital do have razors in their kit if it's needed to trim things a bit (eg for a section incision) but most of the time it's not necessary. Plus - at this stage- can you even see your fanjo?!?! No amounts of mirrors or contortion would give me visibility to contemplate such a thing at this point!

Hohohomouse · 12/12/2011 21:44

Plu - wow, just wow - thats amazing!
Many congratulations, hope you're all doing well
An hour and a half!! Hope you're not traumatised by the speed of it all

mopsytop · 12/12/2011 21:46

Wow plu - many congrats!

Hohohomouse · 12/12/2011 21:50

ARCH - I have trimmed but not totally defuzzed. I'm sure they have seen more out of control ladygardens in their time. Mind you, if you have the time and the inclination and if it makes YOU feel better then why not?
I shall even be applying fake tan tomorrow - not for anyone else - I know they and definately DH couldn't give a toss - but it will make me feel more in control when I am completely out of control IYSWIM. Even if I am baying like a beast and pooing on the bed at least I shall do so slightly tanned and smelling (initially) of roses.

fusam · 12/12/2011 21:53

Wowsers plu congratulations! Are you back at home now, did you even go into hospital?

fusam · 12/12/2011 21:56

Feeling a bit low today. I have been having strong BHs and lacking in sleep since Friday. I am truly knackered and wish it would either escalate or fuck off really.

fusam · 12/12/2011 22:02

oh and I have bastard nose bleeds that will not stop, I have never had them.

Sorry for the moan and me me me

LittleMissHumbuggery · 12/12/2011 22:02

With regards to shaving... Can you deal with ingrowing hairs afterwards? The thought of being stitched to buggery and having ingrowing hairs on top of it all just makes me want to shudder.

fusam I'm feeling a bit woeful too. Want to share my half box of celebrations?
