congratilations msb and oi! oi gingerbaby may very well still be gingerbaby, I'm not sure at what point the hair falls out but it can drastically change colour when it does (DD1 went from dark brown to blonde, which was a huge surprise as DH and I are both dark haired).

BFing is not going quite as awfully as it was, I was referred the a BFing clinic on Friday and there were other women in a worse shape than me, but they were still positive that BFing would be possible, which was really comforting. The MW taught me a new hold for feeding which happens to be almost identical to the initial hold in msbaubles link to the biological nurturing video. DD2 is still needing top ups but not willing to have such big top ups (down to about 20mls or less now). I was lightly upset yesterday though as I obviously had been a bit spaced out when using the microwave steriliser yesterday at 3am, as I woke up to a completely melted breastpump (I forgot to add water), so had to rush to the boots fior a replacement, but got a nuby manual which is so far much more comfortable than the avent manual.

also good luck chinchilla

ChristmasPullyWoolOver · 12/12/2011 06:37

Morning all. Good luck chinchilla!

tinsel I woke up in a pyjamery sweat in the night too - gah.

OiMistletoe · 12/12/2011 06:44

tinsel - love the "one shared/same name, one same family, one same love" idea. It truly is lovely - and it may be those baby blues making me misty eyed about it. Grin
plu good idea about the birth announcement to the solicitors/buyers!

The pain from the cs has built gradually, -it's been fine - but as they should be letting me out today, I guess it's going to subside now?... Hope so. They're giving me ibuprofen and paracetamol.
Kate hope your aches and bruises disappear soon. I was bumping into door handles all the way thru'. !

mopsytop · 12/12/2011 08:11

Oh my goodness, the sweaty betties are in town - I woke up a few times with my hair and neck wet with sweat - this NEVER happens to me! What's going on?!

Off into day clinic again now for yet more monitoring - this bp medication should have taken my bp right down I hope, so not sure if I will need to be induced now or not. The doctor on Saturday seemed to think I would be anyway but who knows... will keep you posted. Good luck everyone today!

msbaublestwinkle · 12/12/2011 09:01

chinchilla good luck, hope it goes quickly and smoothly.

We are putting up the Christmas decorations today! Need to keep the DDs occupied, DD2 is a bit touchy at the moment, tantrumming quite a lot. DD1 is being amazing though, really considerate.

Miri is still super! Waking every three hrs at night for milk, about hourly in the daytime. She is very chilled, just hates pooing and cries a lot then!

DarcieandSnowballsmum · 12/12/2011 09:03

Morning Ladies

Chinchilla Good luck today, look forward to hearing your announcement later Grin

Really bad pressure last night and few contractions....tailed off tho! Couldn't walk without being in pain last night!

ChristmasPullyWoolOver · 12/12/2011 09:49

Good luck chinchilla

Thanks aethel, I've accepted I can't be perfect. DS woke up really upset and crying in the night for no reason, and wanted DH not me :( I'm trying to give him lots of attention and cuddles today, the housework will just have to wait.

LittleMissHumbuggery · 12/12/2011 11:00

Morning folks!

Also a for nickelbabe who had her wee one overnight, the live thread was epic:o

MerrySorelip · 12/12/2011 11:19

Hi all! Either I'm in the very early stages of labour, or I have really bad wind. My money is on the wind. I think the massive fart I did after DH rubbed my back backs up my thinking. The pain in my back and fanjo woke me up! Painkillers sorted it out for a while but now it's back. I'm off to get DH to wind me again.

Figgy, we both have sweeps on Friday, so we can be sweep buddies :).

DeckTheHawthersWithBells · 12/12/2011 11:31

i'm with everyone on the pj sweats - just another attractive dimension to add to the late pregnancy list.... and finding that the anti mattress ruining incontinence maternity pad that is under my sheet is just giving me an ultra sweaty bum. so nice.

am rolling around like a whale still. keep thinking that things are going to start off in the night and have been getting crampy type pains (but only at night). like sorelip a good fart seems to sort them out - think its definitely wishful thinking that it is anything like early labour as i'm tip top in the daylight hours. right off to twiddle my thumbs elsewhere (or might just nip to read nickelbabe's live birth thread that I managed to miss over night.

Tinselperion · 12/12/2011 11:41

Well yet again no sweep for me - apparently a whole bunch of midwives called in sick today so there is no one available. Just so bummed as i had really geared myself up for it and now nothing, again. apparently the reason I had no sweep last week is they only give them three days before induction - and now I am 9 days overdue and three days before induction there is no one available.

The receptionist even said "oh you're a homebirth lady aren't you" and it was all I could do not to say acidly "not at this rate i'm not!" but I didn't because it's not her fault and she sounded v stressed, probably because she'd been trying to find cover for people all morning.

40+9 and not a sausage over here.

msbaublestwinkle · 12/12/2011 11:45

Sympathy to those who are waiting...hurry up babies!

seven I know how you feel, DD2 was raging in the night, it feels rubbish but you will all adjust sooner than you imagine. Plenty of things you can do sitting down and one handed...even if you are just joining in with songs on cbeebies or chatting about a programme, it all helps.

Update from us...just had Miri's newborn check. All is well and she peed merrily on the midwife. Tmi, but my tear (2nd degree, no need for stitches) feels sooooooo much better for having done the scary post-birth poo this morning!

Am going to upload a pic now!

LittleMissHumbuggery · 12/12/2011 11:49

Hopefully not of the poo msB Wink

I'm off for a nap. I have a headache that is being resolute in it's hereness and I can't remember if I took anything for it, so sleep is the better option. Alarm set for two thirty:o

SoTiredoftheWheelsontheBus · 12/12/2011 11:51

Wow! Haven't been online for two days, and we're on another thread! How many have we got through in the last nine months!

Congratulations Oi and Itsy and families, and good luck to FirstNoelXmas Smile

Am feeling much more confident today - have just seen the midwife, and she was aghast that the paediatrician had told us we were overfeeding the baby (even though he's lost weight). She's reporting it back to the hospital and can't believe that that advice is still being given. As you've all said, she reiterated to feed on demand, however often that seems to be. Hoorary for mumsnet Grin. Ds2's weight seems to have stabilised (he hasn't lost any more, and has put a small bit back on), but she watched a feed and is happy that he's taking milk well, has enough wet/dirty nappies and is alert.

It's the last week of school before the holidays now, but only a couple of days before dh 's paternity leave ends - roll on Christmas!

mopsytop · 12/12/2011 13:03

Medication brought my bp down enough to not have to be induced this week (although probably next) but yay - maybe she will come on her own before then! Very relieved.

AnAirOfHope · 12/12/2011 13:14

Yay both children asleep right now - time for a cuppa Smile

Morning went ok as we watched cars 2, then did drawing, played with cars, tidied up and then Air fell asleep when i was feeding hope and now hope asleep in mosses basket Smile

I have no idea what to do with Air when he wakes up this afternoon, so i guess he gets to chose.

Changing two nappies (ok big boy pull up pants and a baby nappy) feels very strange to me!

I even managed to have a wash this morning but i have done no housework!

Hope everyone else has had a good morning

AnAirOfHope · 12/12/2011 13:19

MsB - i could not see photos of the birth as link didn't work and you have no profile so i can't see photo of baby Miri Sad

msbaublestwinkle · 12/12/2011 13:37

Right...will attempt to turn brain on...

radical-mama.blogspot.com/2011/12/miranda-birth.html

And profile should have a pic from this morning, wearing a sleep suit DD2 wore at 3mths!

AReindeerCalledHorse · 12/12/2011 13:53

Good luck Chinchilla hope it went/is going well!

Tinsel, that really, really sucks. Hope something happens naturally in the next few days. x

Merry, hope it's more than just wind! I'm another v.windy person atm (tempted to get a dog, just to blame it on them), so sexy.

Have been wrapping presents today, feeling Christmassy finally (eating that tub of Roses with DH over the weekend may've helped)!
