Ah... I forgot about Christmas.

DarcieandSnowballsmum · 21/12/2011 05:56

Morning Ladies,

slept on & off last night not due to contractions unfortunately, so guess drip it is Sad on the positive side, I'll get long awaited cuddles with Snowball Grin

Mmmmcheese · 21/12/2011 06:49

Hope all goes weLl today darcies!

DarcieandSnowballsmum · 21/12/2011 06:52

Thanks Mmmm slightly scaring myself Sad .....think positive thoughts!

DarcieandSnowballsmum · 21/12/2011 07:04

All systems to go in for 8am Smile hopefully in a few hrs Snowball will be here.

Mmmmcheese · 21/12/2011 07:08

Just to warn you it may be a few hrs before they start you off. I went in at 8am but they did a bit of monitoring then left me for a few hrs aas they were busy and didn't move me to the delivery suite and get things going until 11am.

aethelfleda · 21/12/2011 07:23

Good luck darcies- postive thoughts!!

Up 5 times in night to pee, uncomfy as hell but not a sausage contraction-wise... Need to try to mentally resign myself to a quiet brie-less Christmas: will be gutted if I go a week over again and have to go back to school on 4th jan still With a bump....

Am feeling a bit guilty about being a beached whale, usually me and the DDs pootle all over the place during holidays, but my motivation is low at the mo and DH is into work again today (last day before christmas fortunately). Think
It will be a Christmas craft day today and maybe some biscuit/mince pie making....

aethelfleda · 21/12/2011 07:26

And mmmm and oi, this is probably not the time to mention that with both the DDs my breastfeeding munchies led to me putting on 2 stone from mu pre-preg weight simply due to my appetite (and if I didn't eat that much they both woke more in the night). Whoops, just mentioned it.... Sorry! I plan to start a postnatal DVD burst in about 6 months time...

Mmmmcheese · 21/12/2011 08:14

aethel I am ignoring the fact that I put on weight bfeeding DS too! I do think it was partly me just taking advantage of an excuse to eat crap though, I would often have ice cream for dessert at lunchtime every day! Going to try and be a bit more controlled this time but still allow myself treats :)

DarcieandSnowballsmum · 21/12/2011 08:21

Morning

Am strapped onto monitor, on labour ward. Asked some questions about being mobile and strength contractions etc and feel a bit calmer now. Drip will be put on within the hr so hopefully by this afternoon Snowball will be here Grin

msbaublestwinkle · 21/12/2011 08:29

Morning! darcies don't know if you will see this, but good luck and I hope your induction goes really smoothly.

I am being rewarded for my all-day-all-pregnancy sickness, I am a couple of pounds lighter than pre-pregnancy. Would like to lose a stone though, I will be low GI-ing in the new year.

DarcieandSnowballsmum · 21/12/2011 08:39

Thanks MsBaubles

LittleMissHumbuggery · 21/12/2011 08:44

Darcies good luck how exciting.

aethel and mmm I gained weight when breast feeding as well. I am going to attempt to trim down this time, she says eyeing up the jaffa cakes for breakfast.

Oi How is your ds doing lately, is he completely healed after his op?

Where is LMF? Has she popped without me shaking pom poms in her direction?

Hawthers did you manage to get a sweep booked? Sorry about the section, I have one booked on the same day. I am so impressed by your efforts to get baby out I certain you will actually manage it by then anyway.

I am still getting contraction type pains every bleeding night that go on for about 3 hrs every 10 mins. They then predictably tail off, so annoying and tiring. Thankfully my section is booked for the 28th so another week to go before I am put out of my misery.

fusam · 21/12/2011 09:06

oops cross posts with LMH glad to you see there still cheering on lady.

DeckTheHawthersWithBells · 21/12/2011 09:54

Hey fusam yey a section buddy!

Managed to get a sweep booked in for Friday at 2 - from what i've heard not sure if that is a good thing or not...

Two pineapples sitting on the side to be consumed and if DH doesn't piss me off like last night then we'll try a bit if the other too. Oh and reflexology booked for Fri morning and dirty curry to be ordered for Friday evening.

Then at least we'll have tried everything and if mini h is still staying put I think there is nothing we can do.

Good luck darcies hope it goes well for you

festivefiggy · 21/12/2011 10:38

Boo another day of disappointment 40+12 today thought would be induced today but no still not even booked in was told I'd be called by 9 didn't hear so called them at 10 to be told to call them back after lunch as they have a long list to prioritise so guess I'm going nowhere today. So I could have taken the sweep I was offered yesterday but turned down to ensure I could be induced today Sad.

Have completely given up trying to encourage him out stopped with the pineapple, RLT, staying active am just completely overwhelmed with disappointment at the uncertainty of it all and want it to be over with. Very self indulgent sorry

DeckTheHawthersWithBells · 21/12/2011 11:01

Oh petal you have my sympathies. surely they will have to book you in for before Christmas so it will have to be either today or tomorrow?

KateKringle · 21/12/2011 12:03

Internet ate last night's post!

Congrats mopsy

Good luck Darcies

Hope things booked for you really soon figgy

Well I'd put on 3 stone pre-Daniel. Now still 2 stone heavier than pre-pregnancy. Not too concerned though as this is the same as with DD and it gradually all came off whilst BFing despite my increased appetite. I've entered myself for London triathlon next Sept too so my target is to get fit for then.

Getting a little annoyed at having to chase for appointments here. When we wwere discharged Fri DS hadn't been seen by paediatrician so we were told to get him seen by GP within 72 hours. DH registered DS with GP on Fri eve and we were told Dr would call Mon. Still nothing by yesteday morning so called them and the on-call Dr came round very swiftly and very apologetic - the receptionist didn't pass on the message on Fri!

MW came Sat, said I'd get a call from a MW Mon to check on BF and to book to come for day 5 visit today, to weigh DS and do heel prick. Again heard nothing so I've just called MW to make sure someone's actually coming today!

OiMistletoe · 21/12/2011 12:16

Good luck darcies!
fusam - thanks for asking, Alistair is doing really well. His stitches are disappearing, and he doesn't seem at all sensitive anymore. He's putting on weight, his jaundice has gone, he's feeding loads, - he's a little trooper!
As for me, today(day 11) I am wearing my (pre-pregnancy, normal) jeans!!! Hurrah! -ok, the top button is undone, but bloody hurrah!!!

KateKringle · 21/12/2011 12:24

Oi Hooray! That's all fantastics news. You deserve for things to be going so well after the start you had. I must confess to Xmas Envy over the pre-preg jeans though. Think it'll be ages before I'm back in mine. Hope it's not too long though as both pairs of mat jeans now have holes in them, I look a right state!

DeckTheHawthersWithBells · 21/12/2011 12:25

well done oi but shush - you'll give the rest of us an unobtainable target.

and here I am having just ordered another pair of maternity jeans as my favourite pair have just worn out. i figure i've got another week to go whilst pregnant and its going to take a while to get back into those pre preg jeans. i simply can't remember what it is like to have a waist...

TheFirstNoelChinchilla · 21/12/2011 12:50

I'm giving myself a completely free pass re food, weight etc for the next few weeks. Only put on 1.5 stone in the pregnancy, and my view is if my body is telling me to eat I eat! With Xmas and getting BF established I'm just going to enjoy it and then normal service will resume in NY, esp. when I'm able to be more active and DP has to go back to work (sob).

We actually managed a short trip to Bluewater yesterday-only to two shops, took it veeeeeery slowly, but I was fine and the boy slept through it all. Over the past day or two he's been sleeping a bit more, for a bit longer and with a bit of a pattern, which has been lovely- will of course not expect miracles! He still won't go in the Moses though, although will sleep beside me in bed, which is progress of sorts....

Hope all is going well darcies.

It does seem like you're getting a really pants service from your care team figgy- at this rate labour will be a breeze in comparison. Really hope you get your Xmas baby.
And really pleased to hear your DS is on the mend Oi- are you and your DP feeling a bit better after all of that? I'd still be on the gin if it were me.... Xmas Smile

KateKringle · 21/12/2011 13:01

Blimey! MW has just been. Knew DS was feeding a lot so wasn't expecting a big weight loss, but wasn't expecting him to have put on 8oz in 5 days either! Little lardy boy is now 8lb 14oz Xmas Wink

DarcieandSnowballsmum · 21/12/2011 13:08

Figgy hope things get going for you soon! Shocking that at 12 days over they don't seem that concerned.

Well I had the prostaglandin gel at 10.45 as cervixnot favourable. So am getting re assessed between 5-6pm and going from there. Been for a walk around the hospital to try and stay mobile but on the ward at the moment so hard to keep walking around. So currently sat on the bed getting bored!
