...and those of us left are doing a fair bit of bitching:o

I wonder if we could get a [pompoms] going on? Do we have the energy for a campaign?Wink

Right, come on! We're a third of the way through the month and Nickelbabe needs new recruits for her advent thread. Get squeezing:o

Hi ho hi ho it's off for a sweep I go lalalala,.....being a week late is a compliment I have decided as I must have a very comfy uterus either that or I'm delirious as have been awake since 4. Anyone else completely forgotten Xmas is coming!?!???

DarcieandSnowballsmum · 16/12/2011 09:49

Just lost a load of bloody mucus it was gross! Hoping some pains kick in soon

mopsytop · 16/12/2011 09:51

Hope it kicks off for you Darcies. In some discomfort here, lower back pains and tightenings. But it will turn out to be nothing as usual. GRRRRRR!

DarcieandSnowballsmum · 16/12/2011 10:07

Mopsy I've had some tightenings but nothing regular and still major pelvic pain.

A friend of mine who was due in 2weeks had her baby boy last night. Happy for her but Envy as Snowball wants to stay put :(

mopsytop · 16/12/2011 10:10

I wish it would either do something or not do something. I've been having cramps for over a week now. Is SO frustrating!

DarcieandSnowballsmum · 16/12/2011 10:26

I will be toasting with a large glass of Zinfandel when Snowball has made his/her entrance!

mopsytop · 16/12/2011 10:27

I have champagne ready in the fridge :)

mopsytop · 16/12/2011 10:27

We were given it as a present in June so it's been waiting a long while!

sevenswansaswimming · 16/12/2011 10:27

airofhope your HV sounds nuts. How exactly is BFing on demand different to FFing on demand. If anything surely it's easier as there's no bottles to make and you would have more time for Air as you're not spending time washing and sterilising bottles. And ROFL at "too happy", presumably she expected you to be sobbing uncontrollably and attempting to slash your wrists.

aethelfleda · 16/12/2011 10:34

I agree mopsy, it's the unpredictability that's the most annoying. If we'd said to you a week ago "it's OK hon, you've got eight days of cramps and then hello baby" you would at least KNOW what was happening. The constant will-it-won't it is what I am struggling with. Plus at least you are due sooner (I think?) I'm concious that I'm still only 38 weeks so feel like a drama queen (sorry, me me me post!) when there's clearly sod all actually happening.

Good luck with the sweep figgy, may it be productive! To be honest Christmas is low on the radar until the Dds come home from school as they are a tad obsessed with it at the moment due to nativties, parties, Chrimbo crafts and Chrimbo books and telly specials...

Darcies, mucus sounds hopeful, hope that some good-going contractions follow it!

mopsytop · 16/12/2011 10:40

i am 39 aethel. I think for me also it's that they said they would induce me this week. Then they didn't. Don't get me wrong, I am happier to not be induced but when you think you are going to be, then no baby, well it's frustrating!

aethelfleda · 16/12/2011 10:41

And Air : what a fruitloop! Does she think that all second babies are formula fed?!?! I think it may be worth ringing the HVs office (it probably won't be the loony lady who picks the phone up) and asking if you can be transferred to a different HV please, as you are quite happy breastfeeding and "I was quite upset to be recommended to switch FF by for no apparent reason. I would like a HV that supports breastfeeding please, as I do believe it's the best recommended practice for my baby". i suspect the HV on the other end will be sympathetic and arrange a transfer, hopefully they will be less nutty!

aethelfleda · 16/12/2011 10:44

Oh yes mopsy, changes of plan are a pain. A colleague at work had placenta previa a few years back that they kept scanning weekly, she was told to prepare for a section at 39 weeks, then at 38+6 they rescanned and said "ooh, it's moved an inch: normal delivery is fine now!". So her next-day section was cancelled and she had to wait 3 weeks, then got induced for being over dates!

Cherrypi · 16/12/2011 10:47

I'd forgotten about Christmas festive. Was shocked that the schools were breaking up today then realised it's Christmas next weekend. I'm 40+6.

bennybenbear · 16/12/2011 10:53

Well 40+11 today and sat in hosp waiting for induction. Sooooo nervous as don't know what to expect. Will try and update when I can.

mopsytop · 16/12/2011 11:23

Good luck benny!

aethelfleda · 16/12/2011 12:02

Yes, good luck benny, hope it all goes smoothly and you're cuddling your LO very soon!

DarcieandSnowballsmum · 16/12/2011 12:41

Good Luck Benny

No contractions yet Sad

msbaublestwinkle · 16/12/2011 13:14

Good luck benny and darcies hope the show means labour starts soon!

We have sooooo much snow going on today! Really heavy, I'm so glad Miri arrived before the snow! The DDs are very excited, the chickens are not happy.
We went to playgroup's Christmas party this morning, I was roundly told off for being out of the house by my doula but frankly I am sick of being in. Very glad we did go really as it looks like we'll be stuck in the house because of the snow for a while!

anairofhope what a crap HV! Advice like that is frankly scary, there are plenty of women who would just go along with it. I would complain too, when you feel up to it of course. I had ridiculous 'information' given to me about tandem nursing last time round and managed to get a HV sent on a bfing training course.

sevenswansaswimming · 16/12/2011 13:45

msbuggy I'm jealous, it's been raining here since last night, I want snow!

Good luck to benny, darcies and kate, hope you all have babies very soon.

Just want to advise those with babies to make their 6 week checks nice and early. I thought I had loads of time as its not due for another 3 weeks but I booked earlier and couldn't get in until 7 weeks.

OiMistletoe · 16/12/2011 13:47

Hi all, (Still not read the thread... but BEST OF LUCK Bec!!!!)
My profile and pohotos have disappeared!
I have photos of Alistair Jude to post.
So... try this link, let me know if it works. Xmas Grin

msbaublestwinkle · 16/12/2011 14:01

oi he is gorgeous! Amazing hair!

festivefiggy · 16/12/2011 14:09

Bloody hell sweep wasn't "fun"but not uncomfortable so will see what happens in the next 24-48 hours not expecting much. Though he has dropped and is now 2/5ths cervix is behind the babies head, not dilated at all, he's also back to back for the first time Sad. Theres just seemingly a lack of urgency at this point which i dont understand Called the hospital to book induction for Wednesday they calling me back as can't guarantee it will be at 40+12 might go to the 23rd when will be 40+14. Also was told to try and book sweep no.2 for Monday but they had no appts until Tuesday so no more sweeps for me as I can't have another sweep after Monday as would mean I cant be induced Wednesday if it does get booked that day. Humpff!!!!!

sevenswansaswimming · 16/12/2011 14:24

figgy let's hope the sweep achieves something then.

oi he's really gorgeous!

30 minutes after saying I wanted snow it's now snowing here. Next I want to win tonight's Euromillions, worth a try!

festivefiggy · 16/12/2011 14:35

Ooh seven good reminder on the euromillions I'll be off getting one too.
