oinker - all fine at the diddle household, feeling enormous this week, and much to my horror my face is getting fat!!
Hope you're doing ok, hear your leaving the country you lucky thing.

bumpinsheffield · 22/03/2006 12:20

Welcome to alychef, babywhiting and hourglass, congratulations!

Sun is shining in Sheffield as well this morning. People keep complaining its turned cold but it seems warmer to me, maybe the extra fat I'm carrying :)

Dd got a chest infection and ear infection in both ears at the moment so feeling very sorry for herself and not sleeping, had about 4 hours sleep last night so feeling more tired than usual, didn't think that was possible.

Hadn't even thought of packing a hospital bag yet, still seems so far away. I'm probably trying to put it off as we still have so much to do decorating wise. Doesn't look like we'll get to move house before the baby arrives now :( Small jobs keep turning into major projects (very jealous babywhiting, wish I was packing Envy)

Hope evryone else is doing ok.

abbey1515 · 22/03/2006 12:48

Welcome all newcomers!

Bumpinsheffield, I don't think I'll be moving yet either, so desperately trying to get current house sorted into nursery etc!

Kathryn and Alychef- family have a static caravan in Angelsey- Benlech- does that count? Will be going there at Easter- when I finish for maternity, yay!

Diddle, no leaking nipples yet, have you?

Alychef, we have just bought Mamas and Papas Pliko pramette, and I love it!

diddle · 22/03/2006 14:49

abbey - yep got leaking nips, not loads, just the occassional do. very odd, i am totally paranoid that it will happen when i'm in the playground and nobody will tell me. Blush

KathrynWales · 22/03/2006 16:50

Hi Abbey, I used to ride my little 125 motorbike thru Benllech! It's lovely there...and just up the road from us really.

Hmm, I looked at the Pliko P3, still felt like a bus...and although the folding mechanism looked really good, I couldn't believe how heavy it was. I just don't know what to do!

Alychef · 22/03/2006 18:42

Oh, and mine's a boy....

abbey1515 · 23/03/2006 09:47

And mine's a girl!

Alychef and Kathryn, will look out for anyone waddling like an Easter Egg on legs (well, that's what I look like, so am hoping you're all the same!) and come up and say hi!

Diddle, you've jinxed me! Afetr saying I didn't have any leakages they started last night!
Have stuffed bra with cotton wool pads, and am convinced it's really noticeable!

Have appointment with anaesthetist this afternoon
and have booked 4d scan for Saturday morning- yay!

vbab78 · 23/03/2006 13:18

I don't know what I'm having but I keep having dreams it a BOY!

Bit stuck on names though ... the ones we have liked have already been used by family members or we do a u turn on. Sad

Even though I keep thinking I'm having a boy we only have a few girls names in mind. I never realised choosing a name would be so hard.

Alychef · 23/03/2006 17:27

Hi Kathryn, if you're out there! Are you up for meeting up at all? No worries if you're not. Just thought it would be nice seem as we're practically neighbours :)

diddle · 23/03/2006 17:32

abbey - oops sorry, fancy stuffing your bra with cotton wool pads, bet you look all lumpy now. Grin
How did your appointment go, and congrats for gettign a scan booked, how exciting.

I keep imagining that ours little bundle will be a girl, i actually almost bought a cute pink cuddly toy today, then realised it might be a boy. I was so convinced that it was a girl and it would look fab in the nursery. very spooky.

PomsMum · 24/03/2006 10:28

For all those into freebies and money off, the Boots Reward Card parenting club has some great freebie vouchers for expecting mums....money off things for mum and baby, worth checking out.

abbey1515 · 24/03/2006 10:42

Hi everone
Appointment didn't go very well- they had forgotten to book the anaesthetist for the second time running and I had to wait an hour and a half to see someone. I had also requested to see amidwife re. swollen feet and breathlesness but they had forgotten that too! Anyway, to cut a long story short, they then sent me to see a doctor in the central delivery unit where I waited 61/2 hrs for blood results on a hard plastic chair with feet getting bigger by the minute, only be told to go home again at 9pm, ring for results at 2 am then be prepared to be admitted (we live 1 hr away. Nothing to eat or drink since 1, and nowhere on ward to get anything. Was just shattered. Rang at 2 am and have HB of 9.5, so have got doctor's appointment today to get iron. When I got home at 11 my feet were covered in bruises. Am going to write and complain- I can't believe they couldn't even give me a cup of tea! Sorry for whinge!

LilacBump · 24/03/2006 10:57

pomsmum, my SIL got a fab big huggies changing bag with it.

abbey, sorry to hear your appointment was such a nightmare. DO complain!

KathrynWales · 24/03/2006 11:29

Hello all

Hmm.... bit of a day yesterday! Ended up in A&E limping like a good 'un. Ankle had given way in the day and by evening was swelling up and bruised and absolute agony!!! They didnt do Xray due to me being pregnant but said is either bad sprain or a chipped bone. (Yuk) Am now bandaged up and have crutches and have to go up and down stairs on (rather large) bottom!

The last glimmers of glamour have now disappeared. I am now a fat easter egg with a limp....

Would love to get together for a natter Aly... could introduce you to Aggiepanther too, as told her about your existence! Will need to recouperate slightly first though as you are in no position to give me a piggy back Grin !

Big thankyou to Aggiepanther (from July thread) though for taking me and sitting with me in Bangor A&E for 2 hours last night...We looked like the two fat ladies, her struggling to help me in through the door..both heavily pregnant... me limping, her out of breath!!

Life is a carry on film.... Grin

vbab78 · 24/03/2006 13:04

Abbey - That is absolutely ridiculous! DO Complain. On a good note though haven't you got your 4D scan tomorrow? Grin

Kathryn - Hope your ankle gets better soon. Glamour? I don't think I ever had that!

diddle · 24/03/2006 16:17

oh abbey thats sounds awful, you poor thing.

kathryn - what are you doing to yourself, fancy spraining your ankle!!! glad its not more serious though.

abbey1515 · 24/03/2006 17:17

Have just been to doctors for iron and she refused to let me go back to work- so looks like maternity leave has officially started!

Kathryn, look after yourself!
Diddle, yes is scan tomorrow and am so excited! Hope she wriggles and somersaults as much as she has done today!

Alychef · 24/03/2006 20:13

Hi all,

What a day! Had to travel 3 1/2 hours by car this morning to blinking Derby! For a 2 hour training session. Luckily, due to my dishevilled appearnace, I managed to get out og going to Warwick on Tuesday, leaving home at 5am!!! The boss actually realised the idea was ureasonable.

Kathryn so sorry about your ankle, what a bummer. Never mind, it's an excuse to lay on the sofa! Indeed we shall have to meet...3 easter eggs can do lunch :)

Alychef · 24/03/2006 20:14

oh dear, poor spelling again, my apologies Blush

Alychef · 25/03/2006 14:30

Hi everyone!! Blinkin' miserable weather...was supposed to be going out, but stayed in with my spacehopper! Sometimes I can only manage some soup and I'm left feeling like a huge bloater!

Hi Kathryn hope you're feeling ok, and not in too much pain.

Aly

vbab78 · 25/03/2006 18:37

Hello Ladies.

Has anyone got an opinions or recommendations on combination bouncer/rockers or (travel size) swings?

I've just been looking at them recently. My DH would love to get a rocker but I think if we could get a combi one it would last longer.

Any help or ideas is very much appreciated by this first time mum and dad who would like to buy everything on show but don't have much storage space. Grin

vbab78 · 25/03/2006 19:12

forgot ... or baby gyms?

bubbly1973 · 26/03/2006 09:54

Alychef Babywhiting and Hourglass welcome to june board!

abbey, sorry to hear about all that waiting you had to go through! out of curiosity, do you know what sex the baby is....i was wondering if theres any connection between carrying a girl and low iron

my mother had low iron when she was having me, my sil had low iron and she had a girl, and i got low iron and im sure im having a girl although thats just feelings, nothing proven!

vbab i found the best thing i ever bought was a graco battery operated swing,

we bought a bouncer, but that was useless as baby didnt bounce smootly in it ...not like years ago when you would bounce it and if baby wasnt strapped it would hit the ceiling!!

however at a later stage (about 5/6mths) it was useful to plonk baby in it when i was in kitchen, and when i started to feed him solid first

loads of people said they didnt get on with the graco swing, but like i say, its the best thing i bought, so it depends on the individual baby

anyway hope you all have a good mothers day
