Good afternoon Ladies.
Not sure if any of you remembner me, i posted at the beginning of October, i got my BFP on the same day as Diddle. I am 20 weeks 5 days. I haven't posted for sometime, i have been having all sorts of problems that i wont bore you with....yet! hee hee! To cut a long story short, i'm currently off work on cruches and have to wear a support for my pelvis. What fun!!!
I have been keeping an eye on the thread over the past couple of days and have finally built it up in me to join you all again.
I have my 20 week scan tomo, can't wait to see the baby again, seems forever since the last scan.
Hope you are all well today? xxx

Diddle - I'm baaaack!!!!

btw, sorry for any typos, you'll get used to me, i never preview my text! lol

slinkstah · 31/01/2006 16:57

lottielou welcome back good luck with your scan tommorrow. why are you on crutches hun and a pelvis support poor thing. hope alls well

my scan went well, it was very long as the sonographer was training someone so i had lots of time to see baby fidget around baby has everything where it should be and has a big belly like his dad!

WellieMum · 01/02/2006 02:02

Hi all

Can I join in? A bit late I know!

Baby is due on June 13 and I have a 17 month dd.

I've just had my 20 week scan and all is well - the placenta is a bit low but that happened in the last pregnancy too, and it moved out of the way in time, so I'm not stressing about this.

Hope the colds are better - I had a horrible one over Christmas and it really flattened me.

Laura032004 · 01/02/2006 08:14

abbey - have you looked at 'sleep' bras? They might have more of a range in the nursing section than maternity. They are really comfy and soft, but you do lose a bit of support. They usually have a 'racing' back like a sports bra, so you don't have the pull over your shoulders from a thin strap, which I'd imagine wouldn't be good for you. M&S have got some nice ones at the moment, which look like lace, but they have a cotton layer underneath, so they are soft. Contessa bra shops are usually quite good as well. Steer away from Emma Jane bras - mine have never softened up much, whereas my M&S white ones are now supersoft

Lottielou - sorry to hear you are on crutches, what a pain! (sorry for the pun!)

slinkstah - glad the scan went well.

WellieMum - congratulations and welcome

Slink - Morning! Thanks for the welcome back. Great that your scan went well. Lucky you getting extra time to see baby. Did you find out what you are having?
I'm on crutches as my pelvis is knackered, my left side is higher than my right side and it's all out of line. Get spasms in my spine and it really hurts to put weight on my one leg. So the crutches are to aid me walking and so that my pelvis doesn't get worse as i was limping before, and the support to keep it together. Lucky me hey!
I can't wait to see my baby today, roll on 4pm!

Welcome Welliemum, Congrats! x

Thanks for the welcome Laura.

How is everyone today? x x

diddle · 01/02/2006 11:23

abbey1515 · 02/02/2006 09:46

Welcom Welliemum!

Welcome back Lottielou, hope scan was ok!

Laura, thanks for bra advice, have got a couple now from M+S nursing section and they are like heaven compared to those other things!

Hope everyone is doing ok!

KathrynWales · 02/02/2006 14:47

Hello all,

oooooh! had my 20 week scan today and I am having a BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

(He seems very well endowed... or am I just boasting about my son already?!)

Just wanted to shout it out to the world as am very very happy and the scan was amazing. He sucked his thumb and everything!!

Am now going to reward me & my mini bloke by eating a big piece of chocolate!

Am now fixated on how exactly you clean a baby boy's 'bits'....
Better not fixate too much. Will put me off my choccy....

Kath xx

abbey1515 · 02/02/2006 15:59

Congratulations Kathryn! That's lovely! Hope the chocolate cake was good... you've set me off in search of chocolate now!

LilacBump · 02/02/2006 19:57

kathryn! congratulations!!!!!! excellent news! another boy!!!

BABY2 · 02/02/2006 20:14

kathryn-congratulations-- It seems most of us that know the sex are having boys.

WellieMum · 02/02/2006 20:17

Help! Need chocolate now!

We want the gender to be a surprise so whenever the scan got near the baby's nether regions, I averted my eyes...

Lottielou - the pelvis problem sounds awful! Hope you have lots of people to wait on you hand and foot.

baby2 - we'll be eating curry together round mid-june I guess...

BABY2 · 02/02/2006 20:36

Welliemum- I'm already on the curry. Thats my craving, as often as i can i'm ordering the chinise, and i even cry when its not open.

Lets hope it dosn't induce labor!!!! Not yet at least.

Laura032004 · 03/02/2006 08:18

KathrynWales - congratulations on your boy! The bits are a bit scary at first, but you soon get used to them! I think they're easier than girls bits now

I can't eat curry any more I get terrible wind, like my whole body has expanded two cm. It's very strange. I ate loads at the end of my last pg too - we ate it for 14 meals of lunches and dinners (ds was over 2 weeks late!), but I don't think it made any difference.

Lottielou - did the scan go OK? Will your condition get any easier as the pg goes on, or will you be on crutches the whole time?

abbey1515 - glad you found some comfy bras They make all the difference.

All well here, we've still got our colds, but they're not terrible, and ds is still sleeping which is the main thing. If this is your first pg - enjoy your sleep and your lie-ins

diddle · 03/02/2006 08:19

KathrynWales - Congratulations on your little boy. you're making me want to know what ours is going to be, but just for a minute. I really want a surprise i'd just like 40 wks to be now so i can have my surprise soon.

Can't believe how close it really is getting, need to start buying stuff, has anyone else started???

abbey1515 · 03/02/2006 12:23

Oh please stop talking about food, I can't go out for another hour...although have completely gone off curry, and just want stodgy things like meat and potato pie and jacket potatoes with cheese.
My little bump is kicking away all day now- dh can feel her really clearly now, and is getting excited. It seems a long time to wait though...

KathrynWales · 03/02/2006 17:00

Thank you ladies

This chocolate thing is a bit of a worry actually. I have put on 1 stone 2lbs already.... gulp
Has anyone else put on more than the text book '5-7lb' it says we should have put on by now???

Wonder if the fact that there are so many baby boys on here is because their 'equipment' is easier to see on the scan? I read somewhere that girls are more difficult to identify positively as it may be a boy with his bits hidden?? (I know, I m talking about bits again...!)

I had a surprise with my daughter, DIDDLE, but this time I was too curious! My mum is now buying blue wool and my dad is rambling on about getting him into trains. (Have nightmares of having geeky 7 r old son in naff wool cardigans trainspotting with his grandad....aaargh!!!)

Well, its Friday night, I have no parties to go to, all my clothes are tents, and baby is kicking my bladder.. I wonder if Angelina Jolie's Friday nights are the same as mine now she is pregnant? Can imagine her on her sofa in her jim jams saying to Brad Pitt "Oh B**r off Brad,I don't want your body. Just drive to the garage and buy me some Galaxy minstrels"....

xx

LilacBump · 03/02/2006 19:46

i'm craving chocolate too at the moment. combined with the fact that i am really in the mood for sex all the time, must be in need of a good seratonin boost! we bought a box of belgian chocs this afternoon and DP hid it from me! he said he was trying to save it for our 6th anniversary on monday, but i found it already though and making my way through the box

KathrynWales · 04/02/2006 15:05

Glad I am not the only greedy guts, Lilac bump.

I am on a mission to ensure all pregnant women get really fat so I'm not the only one who looks enormous

BABY2 · 04/02/2006 20:06

diddle- I have bought 3 sleep suits, 1 shorts and t-shirt and 1 dungeree set and that is all. I have started saving a bit each week to go on one big shop at the end of march (hopefuly)

kathrynWales- I have now put on 1stone . (must be all the currys and galaxy ice creams)

diddle · 06/02/2006 09:31

Kathrynwales - you had me in stitches, love the vision on brad and angelina, fantastic

Morning all - how we all feeling today?

my cold is going now, still got the cough from hell but thats ok, loads of the kids are off school at the moment (i'm a childminder) with the dreaded bug, i really really hope i don't get it.

Saw one of the moms in the playground this morning, who was massive on Friday, heavily pregnant, a week overdue and ready to pop, today she is back in her old winter coat, buttons done up and everything, looking fantastic. Made me feel very positive about coping after the birth, if she can do it then so can I!!!!

Getting excited about baby coming now we're on our way to 40 wks, sooooo looking forward to it.

mrsbabookaloo · 06/02/2006 14:04

Ladies, I'm not worried about weight gain because we don't have any scales. Ignorance is bliss!
I've been trying to relate my life to Angelina's too, now we have something in common.....hmm, now I think about it, my dh is American, blonde (ish) with blue eys....yes, Angelina, c'est moi! I've been chatting with you all on mumsnet all this time!!
