35 weeks here, too. And STFU about 7 weeks! I keep saying it's 4 and a half, max, because any longer and I will start banging my head against a wall.

addictediam · 12/12/2011 02:49

Wide awake here too, but hoping you both are tucked up in bed now. Dd just woke up so dh went in to cuddle her and give her a bottle. She started crying and said 'muuuummmmm muuuuuuummmmmmy' she never says mum! It's always daddy, even when she looks at me its daddy. So I went in, she cried harder I picked her up and she snuggled in and went to sleep. My heart melted and because I'm abit of a softie she's now in our bed and dh is not impressed! I just keep saying, but she said mummy! Xmas Grin

ParsleyandChestnutStuffingLion · 12/12/2011 07:07

I hope you got back to sleep sho and addicted and that everybody had a reasonable nightSmile I woke and moved to the spare room at about 2 OH came in and joined me at 6 which was quite sweet but he ended up snoring in my ear so I had to get up anyway. He is still snoring! We have the day off today. Going to get our tree and look at a sofa. Then I will be mostly wrapping.

rednosedreindeerhead · 12/12/2011 07:11

i've been awake since 5 Sad knackered now but got my 34wk midwife apptmt in a few hours so got to get in the shower....

SantaSHO · 12/12/2011 07:16

Iv barely slept. Dozing really. Was just starting to get in a deep sleep when the alarm went off.

FrillyMilly · 12/12/2011 07:24

Sorry Makes. Definitely not 7 weeks!!! Anytime after 37 weeks is fine by me as long as Xmas day is out the way.

I think I dropped off about 1230 but didn't sleep well. DH was snoring so loud. Then he woke up at 5 and got up for work at 630. My mum has DD so I should really use this time and go back to sleep but I feel really awake. I think I will nap when Jeremy Kyle comes on.

addictediam · 12/12/2011 07:27

Dh put dd back in her cot at 4 when she started kicking us in her sleep! Still really pleased she said mummy!

The cleaning elf has visited our house obviously I haven't done any of it, because I'm taking it easy but I've been up since 6 and had the urge just to do it. Taking it easy now tho in a lovely clean living room!

Reminds me too much of my home town!! I dread putting it on and recognising someone.

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 12/12/2011 08:12

Finally crashed out about 2am after surfing MN for ages. Dh let me sleep in, but the cat woke me just now mewing on the windowsill

I have to get dressed to go and reserve a turkey and buy reusable bum wipes and stuff Am so tempted to cancel everything and have another duvet day, but I suspect it is not going to get any easier to get around as the days go on so I may as well get it out of the way today, huh?

Hope you're all having a more exciting Monday than me...

rednosedreindeerhead · 12/12/2011 08:34

reusable bum wipes?? is that a real thing??!

rednosedreindeerhead · 12/12/2011 08:38

my Monday is not going to be much more exciting than yours cakes, I've got to learn how to be an ebay seller and get rid of some stuff. OH has given me til the end of tomorrow to do it otherwise he's chucking all the stuff out or giving it to charity Shock

nothing like an ultimatum to get a fat pregnant bint moving...

got nothing else apart from general sorting/tidying/baby buying/chicken cooking to do so i guess i have no excuse...

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 12/12/2011 08:40

real thing Xmas Grin

Nanny01 · 12/12/2011 08:50

flannels from ikea are good and relatively cheap now just have to work out the recipe for the mix to put on the wipes any ideas.

Now packing bag no home birth for me now so very disappointed but I am pragmatic that Elliot and my safety is important. Who else is due around the the 1st Jan. Have nothing ready the crib is still in the loft along with the mattress bedding car seat. I can see me having this baby and nothing being ready as dh as some serious employee issues that he is dealing with.

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 12/12/2011 08:55

I was thinking just warm water...

rednosedreindeerhead · 12/12/2011 09:00

wow cakes they're quite cool.... i have some flannels already from ikea but was just thinking water to start and then some kind of gentle baby wash later on...

SpagBollyandtheIvy · 12/12/2011 09:07

Hi all, sorry haven't been able to catch up for yonks, so apologies I have missed loads. Nanny, why no homebirth? That is disappointing, but sounds like you are taking a sensible view. We are still fingers crossed for HB but packing a bag just in case. Our crib is also still in loft. Have just got bedding, carseat etc down, but all needs washing. Don't panic, it wont take long.

Feeling seriously knackered today, but got big long list of stuff to do......

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 12/12/2011 09:07

Well these are for nappy changes rather than baths. My friend uses them and they're really good and smaller than flannels, so easier to cart round with you. You just bung them in the wash with the nappies.

I have a really nice baby wash for bath time - lavender and lemongrass 'Earth Baby' - it smells yummy :)

abeautifulbutterfly · 12/12/2011 09:14

Nanny I think it was fish who had a recipe for bum wipe mix (for want of a better word Hmm.

I had my first sleepless night on Sat night - went to bed knackered just after 9, DH woke me up coming to bed at 1am, then I was up stressing about not having done anything about practising breathing for the birth until 4.15... THen last night DD2 woke me up saying she was scared and I had to go into her (because she can't get to sleep in our bed with DH snoring) and spent most of the night trying to drop off with her asking me if I was asleep yet just as I was getting there... She is soooo excited and wound up about having a new baby sister that I think there are going to be more and more night wakings betweeen now and Jan.

Ironed nappies and finally started packing hosp bag last night but I really need to go and find out what they provide for baby before I can finish - last time all I needed was enough nappies and an outfit for going home but that was 6.5 yrs ago so things may have changed. Also have no money to buy feeding bras yet so that will have to wait.

Our cot is still in the loft too, Nanny, but I'm not due till 14th (and have a history of going over) so will sort that after Xmas. Got school Xmas fair and end of term to deal with first - and I haven't even made a Xmas cake yet Shock. But only 2 more days of vital deadlined work today and tomorrow and on Weds I plan to bake. Rest of work can wait till after that.

Giraffe any update on the gloop front? Hope all is ok.

Nanny01 · 12/12/2011 09:18

Hi still hopeing that they willl say baby is in a better position but no that hope full as I don't think I can feel a head in my pelvis yet.

GhosteditorOfChristmasPast · 12/12/2011 09:20

Hi ladies, I'm also on the terrible night bandwagon. Do you think it was the full moon? DH got back late then woke me by rolling over and saying, in a most offended tone, 'stop stabbing your bump with a fork'! (his sleep talking is often v entertaining! Grin).

From therein in I was awake for ages with HBs and awful indigestion/heartburn. Tried the other room which helped and eventually dropped off. Thankfully we're both off today (my first three day week!) so we're still lounging around, but must get up to go buy Christmas tree and get things sorted.

Re wipes etc I have cotton wool and Eco wipes to begin with and will just be using water unless ppm needs oil etc for skin - I have mild eczema so I want to avoid introducing chemicals. Someone told me that a bit of Vaseline before you put on the first nappy helps loads as meconium is so sticky.

Right, must get up, have to get things done before my maternity leaving afternoon tea with work later today!

PS cakes, your plans sound like they require a car - does that mean dizzy spells have abated? Hope so! Smile

mulledfishandfrostedlilacs · 12/12/2011 09:34

Morning girls,

dreadful night last night, I woke up to wee 8 times! no fair, I was incredibly thirsty though-sadly a consequence of drinking is weeing.

giraffe sounds like you are having a show too. :)

Had a fab day-made some gorgeous bath bombs. Chai and cocoa butter scented with orange slices in the top, some peppermint and fennel foot fizzers. (small bath bombs for the soaking of feet) and some may chang, lavender and lemon ones with a sprinkle of glitter and lavender heads. Yummy smells all day and a really fun way to spend an afternoon with my two most precious girlie mates.

My rib flare is getting much much worse-it's so sore all day now and in the evenings it's bloody agony.

RE: Recipe for re-usable wipes (this is bit of an area of expertise of mine-I am a trained aromatherapist in one of my past lives (ie 12 years ago. I just don't practice anymore)

2-1/2 cups warm chamomile tea (strong brew-I use 3 tea bags for this amount, steeped for 5 minutes at least)
1 tablespoon of natural vegetable soap flakes
1 tablespoon Jojoba Oil/sweet almond oil
4 drops of lavender oil
4 drops of tea tree oil
1 tablespoon of runny honey
4 oz. Witch Hazel distillate

Mix together until the soap has dissolved, store in spray bottles in the fridge shake well before use.

GiraffeAHolic · 12/12/2011 09:43

Morning ladies, sounds like the whole of the thread were up most of the night, hope you're all taking it easy today.

Nothing to report here, put a liner pad to go to bed and definitely no green.

Had a mad half hour before bed last night so am chilling in a relatively tidy house this morning Smile

Dd is at nursery this morning then she's going shopping with MIL this afternoon so I plan a very quiet day (could be the last one!)

I'm fairly sure that I'm not going to be pregnant for much longer, have dispatched dh to pick up the pram and carseat while he's at work today Smile

Mum2be79 · 12/12/2011 09:52

Morning!

Nap while Jeremy Kyle is on!? You cant! That show is my guilty pleasure it makes me feel better about my life (a bit like the relationship topic here!)

My guilty secret is out too!!!! I even watch re-runs on ITV2 at 1:30pm. It's like watching a comedy sometimes.
A little girl (when she was in Y2, now in Y6) announced to a colleague that her mum was famous. (This came about when doing a topic on famous people). When asked why, she said that her mum had been on Trisha because her "mum's boyfriend thought she had other boyfriends but she didn't really!" Made us laugh (still does) but really, really sad.

I'm always suffering sleepless nights. If it wasn't for acid reflux, or coughing, or active Peanut now it's stressing about Peanut's health, the birth and Christmas shopping which I haven't yet started.

Waiting for some very large blinds to be delivered today. I was going to go to my school's Christmas Carol Service today at the Priory in the town where I work but I am still unable to put a bloody show on the end of my foot. I was looking forward to it. It's the first one we've done too.

My diaphram now hurts with all the coughing. MW on Wednesday and growth scan and consultant on Friday. Hope I'm well enough to push!
