I find Delia rubbish for sweet things. Made a banoffee cheesecake of hers and it was vile.

greenlady78 · 09/12/2011 05:44

So here I am...went to bed at 1 and awake since 4.30pm...oh the joy! fish I stopped drinking coffee as it makes me super hype, too! I am going bananas as I really want to 'nest' (the wardrobe in the spare room is a tip!) but I am supposed to rest foot up so can't move... Argh!

Oh no, I have yet another nose bleed!!!!!! Ahhhhh, anyone else?

We decided to buy a crib as realised we are broke, ha! And also space wise it will make thinks easier.

Anyway, wishing everyone a lovely day!!! Ah, where is the new stats thingy so that I can add myself??? xxx

Wormshuffler · 09/12/2011 06:34

Hi Nanny
I'm just up the road from Oakham, we are ok here, lucky in comparison to the rest of the uk by the looks of it. Hope it goes as well as it can for your Uncles funeral x
sending big turning vibes, 5 kids after a section is not a good combination. You HAVE to take it easy. I gave myself a heamatoma (blood clot between the layers), from doing too much and it was very painful. If it does come to a section you may have to accept help from wherever you can. Turn baby turn!!!
I'm not having actual nose bleeds, but there is lots of blood there when I blow my nose. stats here

ParsleyandChestnutStuffingLion · 09/12/2011 06:52

Morning ladiesSmile

knittiekitty just started my GD management and I seem to be ok all day except for breakfast. What are you eating for breakfast? I'm going to try porridge this morning to see if it works.

FrillyMilly · 09/12/2011 07:05

Morning.

Nanny hope today goes ok and that your baby turns.

Greenlady I've been having nose bleeds quite often since really early on. It's something to do with blood vessels swelling to pump more blood round I think.

I'm off to the midwife this morning for 34 week check. Hoping baby has turned. Thought it would be obvious but I have no idea. Slept terrible last night. Woke up sweating at one point!! Then DD decided to wake up a few times. She's now asleep and baby is having a good wiggle. Been having strong HBs which wake me up. Add that to the wind, rain, hail and at one point sirens during the night.

mulledfishandfrostedlilacs · 09/12/2011 07:30

Morning girls,

I don't think it was the coffee because i slept really well last night-if there was caffiene in my system I never would have slept. Sure sign for me if i have had coffee or tea too late is lack of sleep.

DD has been up since 5.30 coughing. DH and I are having a day off together and supposed to be going to cheltneham for the day for my maternity bra fitting but i'm wondering about keeping her home. She's coughing almost constantly but she did sleep from 8-5.30 and it's the last day of the week.

addictediam · 09/12/2011 08:02

Fish I would say keep her home, but then I'm a big softee!

Greenlady nosebleeds happen often here too, very normal.

GiraffeAHolic · 09/12/2011 09:25

Morning all.

Well, swimming yesterday must have exhausted both me and CheesyMonster as I slept the whole night through in one position with no toilet trips (trying to move this morning was a whole other story Smile)

It's dd's Christmas lunch and party at nursery today so I have a quiet day, need to drag myself to town for a few bits when I muster up the energy.

Got some hooded towels and nursing bras yesterday so mine and baby's bags are packed Grin just need to go and pick up car seat and iCandy.

Wonder how long I can stretch out this Brew?

FrillyMilly · 09/12/2011 10:35

Yay head down!!! Not engaging yet so just have to keep him this way. Bit disappointed he couldn't have waited a couple of weeks so I could have an extra scan.

Oeisha · 09/12/2011 10:46

nanny LOL! Oakham being anything like North! Hehehe, the thought of it made me chuckle... I hope you Mum manages to control herself a bit (I have one of those Mums too, hard work sometimes).

green I get nosebleeds associated with headaches/migraines...hasn't stopped during pg. Seems to be a slight spiking in BP that does it for me. They did think about sticking me on vit-K for a bit, but I refused.

Re: nursing bras, I'm supposed to be going into Mancs Xmas (I know, I must be mental) week for a go in Bravissimo. MIL will be coming with me to bash overexcited Xams shoppers out my way with a mallet give moral support and possibly SIL too, so that'll be ace!

giraffe I've literlly just put my iCandy up! It's super-exciting Grin and not as HUGE as I remember it being. DH also managed to fathom it without chucking his toys out of his metaphorical pram. The MaxiCosi looks good too, and fits on the iCandy perfectly, though we haven't tried it in the car yet.

Oh! I've finally had my appointment with the anesthetic dude through...6th Jan...here's hoping it's not relevant (like wot I think) or I don't need any form of intervention before then!

OK, I can't put off packing for the weekend any longer (away seeing my family).
TTYL...

GhosteditorOfChristmasPast · 09/12/2011 10:46

Yey for head down babies!!! Most babies turn so let's hope they all flip around in good time...

This morning's conundrum... I have had slightly puffy hands and feet for a few weeks - mild oedema, not enough to alarm the MW. Usually worse in the evenings after a day on my feet. This morning, after a great night's sleep, my feet (not hands) are definitely more puffy, ankles almost flat, but not crazy giant. I have MW appt in 2 hours so it's fine if I just check it out with her, right? No headache, dizziness, pains etc etc Hmm

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 09/12/2011 10:49

I'd say, if you feel ok in yourself, then safe to wait. In meantime get those feet up above your heart and drink lots of water

GhosteditorOfChristmasPast · 09/12/2011 11:22

Thanks cakes! That's the answer I wanted Smile

Will report back after MW appt - guess it depends on what my BP is doing today!

addictediam · 09/12/2011 11:26

Ghost I second feet up and drink lots. If you have an appointment today I would wait and mention it then.

Maternity bras, I was planning on going braless for a few days until my milk comes in then sending dh out to buy lots of diffrent bras for me to try on at home. I hate wearing bras normally and last time my back size shrunk about 2 sizes after giving birth, then my boobs got huge when my milk came in. So buying and wearing the wrong size bra will drive me loopy!

OP posts:
MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 09/12/2011 11:42

ghost recommended the bravado bras which look good to me - room to grow or shrink and still be comfortable. Am going to get some of those when we move into January and can afford it... maybe :)

SantaSHO · 09/12/2011 12:28

Yeah for babies that have turned!!! Fx they stay put now .
Hope today is as stressfree as possible for you nanny
Definitely get your feet up high ghost

Went to gp this morning as have had a cough for over 3weeks now and its got worse this week rather than better. Despite my sore ears and the ringing in them she said they were fine. She didn't bat an eyelash when I said iv been having a lot of headaches over the last 4days either. Have been given Linctus to help with the cough which is apparently ok to use in pregnancy.

Happy Friday ladies x

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 09/12/2011 12:30

I keep wanting to sniff soapy smelling things (washing detergent etc) and have a weird temptation to lick a bar of soap... only we don't have any. I'm guessing the old pregnancy cravings are kicking in for real now, esp since my crying over chocolate cake last night. Must resist the urge to lick soap though, that's just weird. Smells so good though.

addictediam · 09/12/2011 12:34

Makescakes you've linked thoes before and they look really good, but I can't get my head around the sizing Xmas Blush the bra comes in small, medium, large etc but the sizing guide doesn't tell you what sizes are what. It only gives conventional sizes. [Fconfused] it confused me so much I didn't order any! But they look ideal because they change with.your body.

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 09/12/2011 12:39

Does this help at all? :)

ParsleyandChestnutStuffingLion · 09/12/2011 12:44

Hi sho was just thinking of you and signed in to check when you last posted to make sure you didn't get blown away overnight! No lasting damage I take it? :)

Sometimes I think GPs are not all there when it comes to pregnant women Hmm

supadupaturkeystupour · 09/12/2011 12:44

Just back from wk 34 app and we think baby is still breech :-( getting quite worried about a section now....not happy. Going back on the 23rd dec and if not turned will be getting a scan asap to give me time to see consultant and anesthetist. Cant wait till 9th jan (when i have a scan booked) because i'm getting in a tizzy and the mw said it would all happen very fast at that date as i will be 38weeks.

on the other hand everything else is great :-D

FrillyMilly · 09/12/2011 12:44

Don't eat the soap!!! I crave chemical smells. I love going to the petrol station or using a bit of WD40 on something. I don't want to taste it. I just want a good sniff. If I wasn't concerned about the effect on the baby I would walk round with some turps on a hankie.

SantaSHO · 09/12/2011 13:35

cakes put the soap down and slowly walk away!
Xmas Grin @ frilly's turps hankie

Thanks Parsley we're all ok. The only damage we took was to dd's wendyhouse(see fb pic). I reckon its fixable. The local garage took quite a beating, as did quite a few fences and trees either snapping or getting uprooted. My neighbours tree uprooted and ripped the fence down eek!

supa I posted on your fb status regarding breach baby. My favourite mw believes the easiest way to determine head position is by the heartbeat. We could find babies heartbeat low down but it was soo much louder at the top of the bump and position was later confirmed at the growth scan.

Is anyone else feeling incredibly lousy. I just want to curl and sleep. Wish I had the energy and the want to be nesting.

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 09/12/2011 13:41

It's OK - I had to starch DH's shirt for work xmas party tonight and just inhaled deeply as I ironed - yummy smell!

And yes, I'm knackered too. Wish I was staying in tonight, but oh well, I'm sure I'll have fun once I'm there...

addictediam · 09/12/2011 13:45

Cakes, I.just can't find what a 36dd would be in small medium or large? Maybe I'm just being thick, but I wouldn't know where to start! If you have a big back but small boobs or big boobs and small back what size would you be? The size guide tells you how to measure yourself and find out what back size and cup size you are which doesn't seem to match up with the sizes they sell Xmas Confused maybe i am being thick, ill take alook later when I'm on the laptop.
