Arggghhh I've had the night from hell!! its like my girls are already competing for my attention!
I was about to phone triage when dd threw up everywhere so dh and i cleaned her up, put het in. our bed and cleaned up her room, bump decided she would kick the crap out of me for the next 3 hours but at least all hbs stopped! Dd decided she didnt want dh any more and wanted mummy cuddles, bump get jellous and hbs start up again, dd gets angry and starts hitting bump! Bump kicks dd back and neither seem to understand they are hurting me!

So. Now I'm sat on the sofa with a sleepy dd who won't sleep anywhere apart from on me with an unhappy bump who seems to want the same attention. I'm starting to actually be scared of what its going to be like with 2 babies!

But I promise if hbs get strong again I will be strait on the phone to triage.

Oh addicted you are gonna be knackered today :(
I get lots of top bump pain and it turns out to be trapped wind, could it be this as you are suffering in the toilet dept too? fingers crossed it is! As dd is chucking up too, you could both have a tummy bug? Keep your fluids up mrs!!
Fx baby stays in there a good while longer, you watch you will go overdue now due to all the baby stay inside vibes we have all been sending.

I am losing track of who you all are, first I had to get to grips with who's fb name was which mn name, and now you are all changing them christmasy (some of you twice!!!)

ParsleyandChestnutStuffingLion · 07/12/2011 07:20

Blimey addicted I hope that's not a taste of things to come! Maybe you can get a nap when DD does later.

SantaSHO · 07/12/2011 07:29

Oh addicted hope everyone feels better this morning and you get some rest ((hugs))

Very active baby here last night too. Stern words and a tummy rub seem to have done the trick.

My friend (edd 26dec) is going in for ecv today in an attempt turn breach baby. I'm very interested in how it goes as the mw mentioned that they may attempt it with me on the 21st.

FrillyMilly · 07/12/2011 08:22

addicted hope you and dd are ok.

I had a terrible nights sleep. Couldn't get comfy, baby wouldn't keep still and DD woke about 3 with her cough. The howling wind and heavy rain didn't help matters either. I can't decide if baby has turned head down or not. I can't feel a head in my ribs anymore but kicks seem to be at the side. Is that where they should be?

ParsleyandChestnutStuffingLion · 07/12/2011 08:49

frillymilly Now my baba has turned head down, I'm feeling kicks in my side but still quite low down - or lower than I would expect but I think she must be folded over; either that or she is a puncher rather than a kicker Xmas Hmm

mulledfishandfrostedlilacs · 07/12/2011 09:10

Morning. sorry to hear some of you are having a rough time still. addicted poor you with youre two squabbling girls x

DD awake again at 5pm because shed lost her cuddly, she went straight back to sleep I didn't, gnn. Wish i'd just got up tbh could have made good use of the time.

I have nice day planned, goig to make some cakes this morning for DH's work to say thank you for the vouchers we won and having reflexology today. Not planning anything else after yesterdays massive nesting session. My rib flare was vicious last night after all that.

what cakes should I make? theres 15 people in the office-I was thinking lemon cupcakes or maybe a lemon drizzle (i have a lot of lemons that need using up)

DeeOfTheNorth · 07/12/2011 09:11

Morning all! I've added my stats to the new list.

Hope you're feeling a bit better now addicted and manage to get some rest today. Make sure you phone MW if things kick off again.

Re: the tensions in the jaw thing....at my NCT class our 'teacher' actually used the phrase 'slack jaw, slack fanny' Shock. To be fair she was quoting something a more old-school NCT-er used to say but it did make me giggle.

Am off to the midwife this pm - my last appt got cancelled as the locum midwife who was meant to see me (a few other ladies) apparently didn't scroll down to the bottom of her appointment list and just left. By the time they got hold of her she was 'at the other side of Leeds' and couldn't come back to see us. Was mildly pissed off by this but not too bothered at the time.

But now I feel like I haven't been seen in ages and am worrying that bumpy has turned into an awkward position. I keep getting pushed/punched/kicked by the wee one but have no idea if it's feet, hands, bum or head I'm feeling!

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 07/12/2011 09:14

baby seems to have turned its back on me as the wriggls feel different and I'm sure there's a big fat bottom sticking out at the top. Am pleased if that's so, because it means baby is right way round, but at least I can call my hypno teacher if he turns wrong way round again - 80% success rate is not to be sniffed at :)

Ugh - weird night. I woke up at 4am, then went back to sleep at 7am until 9. Feels like I can only sleep in increments, suppose it's good practice for being a mummy... Xmas Hmm

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 07/12/2011 09:16

fish lemon drizzle is always nice, and less faff than fairy cakes...

Or I could send you my lemon crunch squares recipe which always goes down well...? Yell if you want it Xmas Smile

Oeisha · 07/12/2011 09:17

frilly I'm being booted in the liver a lot. Def. feet apparently. We're thinking knees up, feet in liver, but they're occasionally moving back and she's kicking stomach too. Or Pushing her bottom in there...lying on my left for a few mins seems to help her float left and give her a bit more room to kick my liver...rather than making me want to vomit with indigestion when she's attacking my stomach.
Also getting punches/pushes lower down too, but MWs keep telling me she's head down and these feel if anything harsher. Think it's when she's playing with her face/popping her thumb in and out.

addicted Sad Hope the day is more successful than the night!

Off for 34wks prodding.
TTYLxxx

greenlady78 · 07/12/2011 09:21

fish I agree with your post! It is so nice to have you ladies around and being able to send and receive positive vibes and info Xmas Smile

I have been away for some time as I manage to injure my foot Sad I can't walk and have my feet up on a tubigrip for at least another 2 weeks....argh, I can't believe it!!!! So very annoying!!! I was looking forward to my last two yoga classes and now won't be able to attend it!

addicted glad to hear you feel better and the little one is hanging in there!!!!

oiesha I managed to sleep till 8am today for the first time in 2 months!!! So there is hope against the insomnia shenanigans!

DH has day holidays tomorrow, Friday and Monday, so we will finally manage to do most of the tidying up that is missing!!! I will prepare my hospital bag Xmas Blush yes not ready yet....and birth plan, change fire alarms, build chest of drawers, wash little ones clothes, etc very excited!!!

Hugs all around! Xmas Biscuit

GiraffeAHolic · 07/12/2011 09:43

addicted cross those legs. You shouldn't have mentioned the holiday, sounds like little one wants to come along too. But seriously get yourself checked out.

AngryAngry I HATE RIB FLARE AngryAngry

To get out of bed I have to remember to fold my arms tightly around my ribcage to stop the stabbing pain (which hurts anyway because its all swollen and render) while keeping my knees together to stop PGP pain Sad I look like a bloody Weeble rolling around trying to sit up.

Have an open day to visit dd's prospective primary school this morning - scary stuff!!

Ok I need some baking advice: I have some silicon christmas bun tray things, the insides of the holes are shaped like snowmen etc but they're much too deep to make shaped biscuits. Could I theoretically fill the shaped holes with sponge mixture then when they're cooked slice them and turn them into mini Victoria sponges? (if any of that actually makes sense Grin)

addictediam · 07/12/2011 10:10

Giraffe yes ypu can, although not knowing size or anything i can't help any more than that! (I'm a cake decorator btw!)

I'm so stressed by this all that I've woken up with some stys in my eyes :( body is still evacuating and tightenings. are still there but not painful.

Dd has a stinking cold and is sat snuggled up watching cbeebies with me.

Oh and going to call triage this afternoon for advice

OP posts:
mulledfishandfrostedlilacs · 07/12/2011 10:18

gnn

what can I do about next doors dog-it has been left to bark all sodding morning again. It's driving me spare and I'm not even trying to rest or anything today. The old dear who owns them is totally deaf and doesn't hear them and her daughter in law is the school caretaker who i'm quite friendly with. I really don't want bad blood between us but casually mentioning the dogs barking in passing hasn't been enough. I need to mkake the complaint more serius in the hope they actually do something about it before i'm at home with a newborn trying to get some rest.

how should i approach it? a letter? another more serious word? go anonymously to the council in the hope that they may send a letter.

Mulledbee · 07/12/2011 10:21

addicted poor you! hope the little ones (both of them!) behave today.

Giraffe - you could definitely experiment, I'm sure it would work, but even if not, it would taste nice. :)

Dee 'slack jaw, slack fanny' Grin that's great!

I'm feeling kicks in my left side just by a big round bump (which midwife said two weeks ago was a foot and a bottom). Then there's another round thing on the right side. The midwife said they were head down though and I do feel really painful kicks straight down which make me jump in my seat. So in short, no idea which way round they are, but I'm hoping not transverse.

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 07/12/2011 11:21

fish - anonymous call to RSPCA?

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 07/12/2011 11:24

OK - what exciting thing can I do with a butternut Squash? I was going to make a chicken casserole thing, but it's faffy and I cba.

I have chicken, beef mince, pork loin, all sorts of store cupboard ingredients - any ideas?

If noone can think of anything it's ending up as soup...

JingleFryn · 07/12/2011 11:33

addicted you poor thing! I've just reached the "at what point did two children seem like a good idea??" stage, and at least DD is just ignoring my bump. I'm sure your DD1 will love her little sister when she's here.

fish tricky. Maybe speak to the daughter again in a more serious way? Do they bother any of your other neighbours? If so, could you rope them into helping your cause? We managed to get the brothel 3 doors down shut with neighbourly collaboration!!

On the turning babies front, acupuncture also has a pretty good turning success rate apparently, should anyone need a hand!

Hoorah - DD slept in her own bed until 6am this morning - I had 7 hours joyous uninterrupted, unkicked sleep (would have been 8 hours, but a wee break at 5am rather ruined that). Suspect that'll be the last time until sometime in 2014!

anyone heard from ghost? i haven't seen her on here for ages - hopefully just too busy training her mat leave replacement.

JingleFryn · 07/12/2011 11:39

cakes ooo I love butternut squash, but only know veggie recipes. Could you do a chicken taginey thing? Or if you are doing soup, it's divine if you do it with parmesan rind chucked in.

MakesXmasCakesWhenStressed · 07/12/2011 11:43

I would do a feta and squash bake thing, but have no feta... what veggie ideas did you have? I could always make pizza and buy some cheese for it, but I hate doing supplementary shops...

And I had a text from ghost t'other day, she said she's Ok and just horribly busy at work, but I'm worried she's pushing herself too hard. She only has 5 +1 to go now...

Oeisha · 07/12/2011 11:56

cakes soup! Butternut squash, carrot, cumin, paprika, pepper and cream...sweet but warm and lovely. Loads of variation online if you don't like cumin/spicy things.

addicted FX for you still...

Having said all that about where Abi is...the bugger's now oblique again. Still fairly head left, and low, but we're just not sure about whether she's left or right facing. Either way she's crammed herself on my right, so she might now be back right, feet in liver, knees around belly. Will have to try rubbing cocoa butter in later and see if the bottom appears in the usual area for rubbing. May also have to sneak in a nap on my left and see if I can't shift her a bit...and then get on birthing ball and bounce...

Otherwise MW is totally happy. Not worried about the 6lb weight gain in less than a week (bugger knows WHERE I've put this weight, nothing looks/feels fatter). Abi's measuring in bang on trend, so she hasn't got hulk-like all of a sudden. She's not worried about the leaking. I described it as I have on here and she's convinced it's just discharge.

fish RSPCA probably won't be interested unless you can prove curelty...and no, persistenly leaving a dog barking because they're distressed often doesn't count. Though talk to a LOCAL RSPCA officer and you might have more luck. You're more likely to have success with your local council and EHO through noise redcution measures...they can then be the ones to contact animal welfare charities (they're more likely to send someone out at that point).
