New thread with updated stats, before the old one grinds to a halt at 1000 and we loose people! Plus its running so slow it barely loads for me :)

Hello everyone - been ages since I posted but I have been reading and keeping up with everyone. You all seem so far ahead of me and I'm particularly envious of those of you who reported an abatement of morning sickness symptoms since mine are still in full swing. Finally had booking-in but still waiting for scan date so again envious of those who have had it/have it soon. Not envious of you thought Milly - take care and enjoy the rest.

Main issue we are dealing with is that DS has fifth disease/parvovirus. He's been absolutely fine with it, nary a symptom until the bright red cheeks developed. So I'm having to have blood tests for immunity etc (or indeed to see if I have contracted it) especially since it could not have happened at a worse time of pregnancy. So a bit worried (major understatement alert) but fingers all crossed for the best. I hate waiting for blood test results Sad

10000fireflies · 06/12/2011 17:00

Hiya everyone

Am pooped, so although I scanned through your latest messages can't quite summon the strength to post much.

Sarah I really hope your test results come back ok.

I had my appt with consultant this avo. Waste of time. She just said that they prefer to induce women in my age group at week 40. Whoop. Looking forward to scan on Friday though. Congrats to all those of you who've had theirs so far, and to everyone whose little lovelies are doing them proud in nativities.

ceeej · 06/12/2011 17:30

aww Dalrymps and JJ your descriptions had me welling up, sounds like they were stars

Millyv hope you feel better after a rest

Warlin the pregnancy hormone thing is crazy, I don't normally cry much but anything can set me off at the mo and poor DH just looks baffled

Kveta sorry your grandmother was so rude, I hope you can find the patience to just ignore it and not let her upset you, my grandparents are also the only ones who have expressed a strong opinion about how we should do things, both sides told me not to find out the sex, I guess it is an age thing

Fingers crossed you blood test results come through soon Sarah

Best of luck for your scans Florin, Tea and Kayzr, hope the time til tomorrow doesn't drag too much and enjoy seeing them waving

Dalrymps · 06/12/2011 23:18

Aww Jj so glad you ds managed and remembered his line, what a star!

SarahBumBarer Sorry you're having to worry, hope the blood results are good.

Good luck to all those with scans coming upSmile

JjingleBeanplusPudalltheway · 07/12/2011 01:02

Just a quick one as I meant to be asleep.

Anyone else really struggling with mood swings? I'm teary etc before but never the happiness swinging to sadness and so on. Its knocking me for six!

So extremely proud of ds, I think eventually he's going to ask me to stop saying it. We went out after his last performance to get him a treat and he had a curly wurly and we chose his and Dds christmas eve pjs Xmas Smile anyway must sleep xxx

Morning all!

Sarah - hope the blood tests turn out okay for you.

Just a quick 'hello' this morning - must go and get ready for work! Enjoyed reading about the christmas / nativity plays - they sound very cute!

Good luck to everyone with scans today.

Hope everyone has a good day!

Florin · 07/12/2011 07:23

Today's the day tea and kayzr for our scans! Wish I didn't have to go to work for 2 hours before mine-oh well maybe it will make the time pass quicker! Anyway good luck girls!
Hope everyone else has a nice and sickness free day!

AwayinaKayzr · 07/12/2011 07:31

Florin I hope all goes well for you. Tea you too.

I feel nervous and excited. I said I was going to buy a little unisex outfit this weekend if all goes well today.

JjingleBeanplusPudalltheway · 07/12/2011 08:09

Good luck, florin, tea and kayzr just one more day until mine Xmas Smile

CaptainNemo · 07/12/2011 08:25

Just popping in to say good luck to Florin, Tea and Kaysr today, will look forward to hearing the good news later!

Loving the nativity stories, Jjingle don't worry about being over emotional, I think pretty much anything is normal at the moment so far as that goes! If I'd been watching DD in a play I'd have been a blubbering wreck! (can't wait for a couple of years time! Xmas Grin

So I was meant to get the results of my bloods yesterday but they didn't call... I phoned the hospital at about 3 in desperation having jumped out of my skin at the slightest noise from my phone from about 7am onwards, only to be told that my consultant's not there on a tuesday so they weren't sure why he told me he'd call Xmas Confused. I spoke to the screening MW, apparently my results came back on monday Xmas Confused Xmas Confused..... she said I'm low risk for Down's but that she wasn't qualified to interpret the results for anything other than Down's. I should probably be a bit more reassured than I am, but the baby we lost was low risk of Down's so it's really the rest of the interpretation I'm interested in... REALLY hoping to hear from them today or I might actually lose my mind....

Sarah good luck with your blood test results too, the waiting is excruciating isn't it? Hope they come through for you soon

RrrrayRay I don't think I ever responded to your acupuncture query, the lady I go to is on Southgate St (so v central but no parking) and she's fab. Where did you go? Finally made it to the Christmas Market yest, figured the day was a write off so may as well do something nice with it!!

Hope everyone, especially those being scanned, has a good day. Smile

AwayinaKayzr · 07/12/2011 10:08

I hate having to drink so much water. I need a wee!!! Xmas Grin

ellybett · 07/12/2011 10:20

Morning! Hope everyone is surviving these winter days. I've started wearing slippers at work.
Good luck to florin, kayzr and tea for scans. Can't wait to hear how they go
Mine is on Monday morning and as today is my last in work I'm now desperate for the next few days to fly by. Am incredibly nervous but really happy about it too. I've been busted at work though, one of my female colleagues put her hand on my tummy and said 'i can tell'! Didn't really mind, I definitely have got a bump already which makes dh convinced its twins!
Congrats ssc on not falling asleep at work. Same cannot be said for me, I think that my snores woke me up yesterday! Thank goodness no one else was in!
sarah I feel slightly behind everyone else too, think we're due around same time. I'm still right there with the nausea and can only eat toast. Maybe I'm not pg and its a bread baby I'm growing!
Hi to everyone else. I'm doing this on my phone so can't scroll up to find everyone elses entries.

Florin · 07/12/2011 11:25

I'm on my way to scan now.
kayzr my hospital has quite new scanner so I don't have to drink water which I am pleased about as so nervous needing to wee every 5 seconds!

AwayinaKayzr · 07/12/2011 12:04

GrinGrinGrin

All went very well. Baby is an extremely wriggly and uncooperative little thing. Wouldn't stay still at all. My dates haven't changed.

Hope that Florin and Tea's scans go as well as mine.

Warlin · 07/12/2011 12:11

Morning all!

Good luck florin tea and kayzr. Florin, you will prob have had a good luck at your bean dancing around by the time you read this. It's so exciting.

When do you get the results from the bllods taken at the booking scan? They didn't mention it to me so I'm assuming you only hear if there's a problem.

Has everyone told work yet? I'm pluvking up the courage and nearly did it yest so going to as soon as my boss is alone (and in good form)! Glad it's Christmas and people are generally in better moods! I've only been here for 6 months and we are so busy that I'm scared to tell them. Sick of pretending though and will feel more relaxed when they know.

I'm constantly thirsty and constantly at the loo!

jj don't worry I'm emotional too..have cried at frozen planet, when clothes didn't fit in a shop and in a restaurant when mum told me I'd put on weight!!!! I can't help it!

Hi to everyone else!

Warlin · 07/12/2011 12:14

kayzr glad yours went well
tea hope yours was ok too!

ceeej · 07/12/2011 12:58

ooh glad the scans went well and elllybet am loving your slipper wearing

I just told my PhD supervisor by email! I wasn't planning on breaking it to her until after Christmas but a good friend and old lab mate is visiting on Friday and I really want to be able to tell her but we're going for coffee with a bunch of current lab mates and I know it will spread like wildfire as soon as one of them knows. I'm now going out to buy SIL a birthday present and not look at my emails for a bit.

TeaandHobnobs · 07/12/2011 13:51

Kayzr and florin glad you have had good scans! Mine isn't until 4pm today, so lots of time to stay nervous until then Confused
Am going to arrive early for my bloods to be taken, as my veins are so uncooperative.

Catch up with you all this evening!

Florin · 07/12/2011 14:46

Just told work to which was fine they just said congratulations-guess that is all they can say. Was nervous though!

AwayinaKayzr · 07/12/2011 15:01

Florin glad your scan went well too. Tea I hope this afternoon goes quickly for you.

I came on to say something but can't remember what now Xmas Hmm

AwayinaKayzr · 07/12/2011 15:11

JjingleBeanplusPudalltheway · 07/12/2011 15:35

Do we have more bloods at this scan??

I really hope not my arms are still such a state Xmas Sad

Congratulations kayzr and florin

Novmama · 07/12/2011 16:48

Hi to everyone. Thanks for nice comments re scan etc Nice to hear of everyone else's scans etc.

I need a virtual hug Xmas Sad. Went shopping today for maternity clothes as I can now essentially fit into no trousers/skirst or tights. It was a complete disaster and reminded me why I so rarely go high st shopping and why my wardrobe is made up of Boden with some Monsoon and M&S. Dirty shops (Mothercare/H&M), uninterested staff, filthy changing rooms. Products just dumped in a small corner. In H&M mat clothes upstairs (in a tiny corner like a jumble sale) but changing room downstairs!!! Mothercare - stuff looks great on line - in store - rubbish! They didn't even have any black opaque tights. Its winter for godsake! I just burst into tears in the changing room having tried on 2 pairs of jeans that pooled round my ankles and hung down at the crotch. I remember this problem from last time. I'm a 14/16 normally and short leg length. Does anyone know where I can get short good quality jeans/trousers that actually fit? Please help as I feel desperate! Sad.

I just bought a nice top from Boden last week with a 25% voucher so £29 and free delivery didn't feel too bad. Now wishing I'd ordered more things with it as I cannot face another shopping experience like today's. Its incredible - all you hear on the news is how retailers are struggling and noone is spending. Well when you cannot be bothered to display the items and the shop is filthy.... Most of my Xmas purchases have been online - that is definitely the future. No wonder the high st is dying.

Sorry a bit of a rant. Anyone with any top tips? Now going to try and find something to where to work tomorrow that is not going to dig in - have a really long day ahead of me with lots of driving! Great!

Rrrrayray · 07/12/2011 17:04

Novamama - sending big virtual hug. Have you tried ASOS maternity range? Pretty sure they do a short leg in some styles.

Congrats on all the scans! Grin feels so much more real after seeing the little one wiggling around. Who's in the next few days?

Nemo- I was in Essex for last pregnancy so may have to look up accupuncturist. What's her / the clinic name?

Thought the sickness had passed but very sick late morning. Sad
