Hello!

It's only a flying visit as we're trying to sort out after weekend away and I'm at doctors soon as this cold hasn't gone after 3 weeks and I feel rottenSad

We've already picked the pram. We are getting the MPX ultima from mamas and papas. I had it with DS1 but sold it when I needed a double when DS2 arrived. I loved it and decided it was easier to just have that instead of choosing another.

I'll be back soon to catch up I hope. Hope you're all well, morning sickness permitting Smile

JjingleBeanplusPudalltheway · 05/12/2011 15:00

ceej I used a wrap around ring sling a lot with dd, it was so comfy. And my --screamy high need horror-- clingy dd loved it, I can still carry her in it now sitting up. My friends in a 5th floor flat and had a maclaren xlr I think could have been xt. With the carseat and carrycot on as the buggy was tiny folded at the bottom of the stairs and she could lug the baby in the seat/carrycot. I have a xt for dd now she's 3 and love it.

I love prams in general tbh Blush we have a mutsy and loola for this one

[Sticks head round door to check for scan news from RrayRay then dashes back to getting DD's dinner which is what was supposed to be doing in the first place...]

SeriouslyStrongCheddar · 05/12/2011 18:04

Evening all!

Rrrrayray - let us know what the ring trick says for you if you try it!

ecstatica - note taken and I assure you exhaustion and nausea will remain until I am instructed otherwise Wink. Sorry to hear you're still feeling so rough; hope it starts to improve.

Jubble - congrats on the scan.

Kveta - that's quite a list of pushchair experience! Think I'm sticking my head in the sand about it as there's so much choice!

ceej - ooh, the name Liesl is lovely!

AwayinaKayzr - sorry to hear you're still feeling rough. Hope the GP can sort you out.

Well, I've got through the day without falling asleep at my desk, so consider it a success! Got home to found that they tried to deliver our mattress today (!) after a phone call during the day to confirm it would be delivered as planned next Saturday. Much phoning round and we're fairly sure it'll be coming out again on Saturday as planned... Confused

I think I'm eating a little bit healthier these days as I'm not just eating constantly, but time will tell!

I'm getting a bit nervous about telling colleagues at work - there's a couple of fellas whose partners have miscarried in the last few months (one just a couple of months ago, if that) and I really want to make sure I tell them in the right way to be sensitive to how they might be feeling, but can't decide what the right way is! Will have to ponder on it as think I'll need to tell people before Xmas.

JjingleBeanplusPudalltheway · 05/12/2011 21:21

SSC I have a similar issue atm, my very closest friend has recently been diagnosed with severe PCOS and is still raw, I keep going to tell her and backing out... I feel like an awful friend, she was the first we told last time :(

Congrats jubble

Can't wait to hear is Rrrray has 1 or 2 in there Grin

Hope your feeling a lot better soon kayzr

Just popping in for a quick hello Smile

Great news on all the recent scans!!!

Rrrrayray · 06/12/2011 08:02

Hi all.

In a bit of a rush so just a quick scan update.

It went really well, although they were running over an hour late so I was almost crying I needed to pee so bad. But was ok once laying down. Also had a student so got an extra long scan as she did me too! The baby has incredibly long legs & waved at us too! I had forgotten how much detail you can see at 12 / 13 weeks.

Due date exactly as my period date so no need to change. Hurrah.

Next scan booked for 25 th jan.

How is everyone else? Any scans today? X

AwayinaKayzr · 06/12/2011 08:04

rrrray that's great about your scan!! Mine is tomorrow morning. I'm getting quite excited but also a bit nervous.

Dalrymps · 06/12/2011 08:24

Just popping in to say great news on scansSmile

Off to get ready. Watching ds be a snowflake in the Xmas play this morning aww Smile

Florin · 06/12/2011 08:57

dalrymps how cute your ds being a snow flake I cannot wait for the nativity/Christmas plays
I have my scan tomorrow I can't wait as well as being a little nervous. Just want it to be all official now.
Really wanted to celebrate after if all is well but got to go back to work and then in the evening being parading like a show pony infront of mil's friends for dinner. Not looking forward to that!

JjingleBeanplusPudalltheway · 06/12/2011 09:12

Quick hello, great scan news Rrrray

Good luck to your ds dairy I'm now off to see my ds as a shepard, he's very shy and has lines, so I'm reeeally nervous for him! Xx

millyv · 06/12/2011 09:19

Morning all!

Congrats on all if the scan news, it's so exciting! I am still counting down the days until my next one (2 weeks today)!

Hope everyone enjoys the school plays, can't wait to be a proud mum watching in a few years time!

Hope everyone has a good day, I've started mine very slowly today... I even had an early-ish night last night?!

Xx

AwayinaKayzr · 06/12/2011 09:50

Owww!! I've just had my flu jab and it hurt. Sad I hate needles

Dalry have fun watching your star Grin my DS1 is a cow in his school nativity. I can't wait to watch him Grin

Warlin · 06/12/2011 09:50

Morning all

Sorry for the silence but was visiting my sister in London for a shopping weekend...was very productive but got home last night shattered.

Congrats to all with scan news. We had our booking apt and 12 week scan on Fri and all good thankfully. So good to see arms and legs flying around! We have a real wriggler! I feel more comfortable telling people now.

Need to tell work this week......Shock It's not going to go down well...will be relieved when it's out in the open though.

We need to start looking at prams but I don't know where to start! Any suggestions! I want something light as I have dodgy shoulders.

We have another scan next week for the nucal test so bit apprehensive about that.

I feel bit better but still a bit nauseous. Ate too much junk over the weekend and treated myself to a wee glass of wine! Need to get back to the gym!

Have a good day everyone x

AwayinaKayzr · 06/12/2011 10:18

Dalry my brain isn't working. I meant enjoy watching your snowflake.

ceeej · 06/12/2011 11:30

Morning, just had a rather long lie in, oops

Congrats on the scans Rrray and Warlin, sounds like we've got an active bunch of babies Xmas Smile

Thanks for the pram advice JJ, hope you find a way to tell your friend and SSC best of luck with telling your colleagues, it's a real dilemma but I guess it's better if they hear it direct from you rather than through someone else.

Watching your kids in the Christmas play must be awesome, I'm sure they'll all be adorable.

Dalrymps · 06/12/2011 11:52

Thanks all, hope your little ones manage ok with their various rolesSmile

Ds was 'a little bit scared' of the audience but he managed to sit and look snowflakey for the whole 15 mins so I'm very proudGrin

In other news: I spewed my breakfast back up this morning as I made the mistake of accidentally touching my tongue with my toothbrushHmm What a waste of frosties!

Kveta · 06/12/2011 12:06

how are you ladies coping with school nativity things? are you in floods of tears the whole time? apparently nursery are doing a carol service next week, when the babies and toddlers will be 'singing' for the parents, and I burst into tears when I read the email telling us about it Xmas Hmm so god alone knows what I'll be like next week. DS has been singing 'jingle bells jingle bells jingle bells' to himself in a dirge all week, so I can't wait to hear them all together :o

Dalrymps I brought my breakfast up this morning too. All I'd had was a glass of milk. Regurgitated milk does NOT look nice, I hadn't thought of it, but of course it does not react favourably with stomach acids Xmas Confused grim.

got my nuchal scan on thursday and can't wait to see baby again! my grandmother is 'outraged' that I'm having this scan, and will have the anomaly one at 20 weeks 'because in my day, we just had to cope! no good can come from knowing!'. stupid old bag Xmas Angry she keeps on and on telling me I am NOT allowed to tell her the gender of the baby when we find out. So I won't, but will let someone else tell her and hope she shuts up. She has some moments of being tolerable, but so so many where she's a total bitch, and I am not good at keeping calm when she's being ghastly!

millyv · 06/12/2011 12:17

Pleased your snowflake didn't get stage fright!

I'm back in bed, so embarrassing this morning, I went to a customers factory and ended up fainting- luckily I know them really well and they looked after me but so embarrassing! DH came to pick me up and took me straight to the doctors, I have low blood pressure- great! I think this might be my pay back for lack of sickness! Apparently it's totally fine though, I'm hoping it was a one off!

Off to have a nap now but hope you're all having s better day than me!

Xx

JjingleBeanplusPudalltheway · 06/12/2011 13:05

Hi everyone, glad he was ok dairy

kveta I was seriously fighting back the tears, ds is extremely shy, and the youngest in reception so has it stacked against him being a preemie also. When I walked in he was a bit coy but stayed ok, until they started singing, then his bottom lip trembled, I did my best manic mum smile and kept mouthing "well done" but everytime my eyes filled right up, and he calmed down eventually, he sung with every one and remembered his line, I am so proud I thought I'd burst when he said it! I've managed to video it and I'm taking him to the sweet shop after school as this really is a huge achievement for him. Pregnancy hormones and a pfbs first school play makes for a very teary day!

Hope your ok millyv get some rest xx

OP posts:
Florin · 06/12/2011 13:55

millyv enjoy some bed rest.
So want it to be tomorrow for my scan trying to throw myself into work so time passes faster! Everybody keeps commenting on how productive I am being today!
Who else has their scan tomorrow?

TeaandHobnobs · 06/12/2011 14:10

I'm up tomorrow too! Looking forward to seeing baby again, although still quite nervous, as this is the watershed where we said we'd start telling people.

Also want to know what is going on with my giant cyst - it hadn't reduced at all at the last scan 2 weeks ago, but I hope it might have now (although I still get the odd twinge in that area). I'm mostly concerned that if it hasn't started to go down by now, I may have to have it removed Sad which doesn't seem at all good.

Looking forward to hearing everyone else's news! Sorry to hear nausea is still going strong for some Sad - bring on the 2nd trimester!!!!

Warlin · 06/12/2011 14:12

jj that is so cute! Wee pet. Sounds like he did well.

kveta don't let your grandmother upset you. Mine would be like that if she were still alive...set in the past and think their way was the best way. I have the nucal scan next wed and am worried about what I'll do if the results are what I hope for. Haven't thought that far really.

Pregnancy hormones suck. I burst into tears in Banana Republic in Oxford Street...and I mean bawling! Was touchey as I looked fat in everything and was so tired that I just burst into tears. My mum thought she'd upset me and tried to buy me half the shop! bless...I just get emotional over anything!

millyv hope you're ok. I take it your work know? I have to tell mine this week and dreading it.

Good luck tmw florin I'm sure all will be fine and your wee bean will be kicking his/her legs and waving at you.

AwayinaKayzr · 06/12/2011 14:24

Florin I have mine tomorrow too. I can't wait to get it done so I can start to relax properly.
