Good luck with the scan Dalrymps and anyone else!

I have a colposcopy tomorrow (camera up fanjo to inspect cervix fro cancer...plus some scraping and stuff) and DH is away so going it alone. Hate the stirrups and I always bleed afterwards and thats going to freak the crap out of me at the moment! I called midwife ....again, about cramps and she said its normal ....again. Anyone else getting period pains? Starting to panic now and as have had no scan/doppler/check up since 12 weeks i'm convinced of the worst and with DH away i'm winding myself up stupidly. I rang up and got my 16wk midwife appt moved from 19wks to 18wks but that was the best they could do so still 6 days to wait. arghhh panic stress mental paranoid pregnant lady alert!

on the dream front, unfortunately my sexy dreams have left me this week. Shame as i was loving them! Instead on Sunday i dreamt i went into labour but when i got to the delivery room they had sent a psychiatrist to see me as there was no baby and i had imagined it all.

.... think maybe i shoudl just chill out. easier said than done though :(

Still thinking of you Boris. told DH last night and he was very upset for you and family too. Both sending you thoughts.

Scan all went perfectly Everything measuring ok and sonographer was 85% sure it's another boy!

3 Boys for us Dh is one of 3 boys and it's what I expected. Over the moon.

itchy hope your colposcopy goes ok, I had to have several a few years ago. I had one when pg and all was ok.

thanks dalrymps... just being a bit over mental this week. i blame hormones. really glad your scan went well. and congrats on another boy! My friend has 3 little boys and they play really well together, its lovely!

Itchy good luck for the colposcopy. Those pains sound crappy. I've had the same, though think it's when I've been wearing trousers which are a bit too tight. Is there an EPU you can get to? If so, call up and describe pains as cramping and see if you can get a scan earlier. I'm sure you and baby are ok though, and just finding it more diff without DH.

Talk about hormones, mine have left me with a memory shot to pieces. Waved friend off last night on completely the wrong bus. Why??!! I've lived here 5 years!!

dalrymps congratulations on your little boy, dh would like three boys as then he would have his own sailing team! Only on first and we hopefully find out the sex tonight really don't mind what we have but just so desperate to know. The hours seem to be dragging until my scan.
I am having a serious wardrobe crisis, I am off to the Caribbean a week tomorrow. I lost about 2 stone this time last year and had kept all my bigger clothes for when pregnant, tried shorts on a week ago all fine, tried them on last night and they don't come close to doing up. Dh had said my bump had suddenly popped out a lot more a few days ago. Anyway with only just over a week to go I have one pair of three quarter length trousers but nothing else. Looked on the Internet but hard to get summer maternity clothes in the middle of winter, there are a couple of pairs on eBay so going to have to try win those and get them to post them quickly!
I love my dream genii pillow I am just debating whether I can sneak it into my luggage to take away with me-dh says no!

Hi ladies.

I've just had a bit of a worrying moment and wanted a bit of advice and reassurance....

Just went to the loo at work and there's a smear of old blood in my knickers Initially freaked but trying to calm myself down because I know that's no good. It's not red so I know that's good plus there's no pain at all. Am really concentrating on any baby pokes at the mo. My 20 week scan is tomorrow so it's good timing but I'm obviously a bit worried now.

Mamma - I had the same on Jan 6th. Call your midwife now, and see if you can get an emergency appt, and get them to find the heartbeat. If you don't, you won't sleep at all tongiht! I will keep my fingers crossed for you anyway.

oh, and you may enjoy this - it's porn for pregnant ladies :o absolutely hilarious :o

Thanks Kveta. I'm going to monitor it for the next hour and then i'm heading off home from work. Will really rest tonight. Have felt a little kick about 5 mins ago which was a big boost plus when i just went to the loo again there was nothing new. Going to try and let baby tell me it's ok at the moment but if anything changes in the next hour, i'll be making a phone call...

dalrymps great news, mines' s a boy too! I'm loving the idea, though must admit was a bit taken aback at first as we both thought it was a girl. DH secretly thrilled! :)

itchy don't panic, think cramps are normal enough, so long as you don't feel the baby is about to fall out. Lots of people get them and you are prob just panicking as it's been a while since you heard a heartbeat. I'm sure all is fine though...6 days and you will be as excited as dalrymps! What is the colposcopy for?

florin good luck with the scan and do jealous of your holiday . I really can't fit into any of the my work clothes now, even with belly bands. Have been wearing the same pair maternity trousers for 2 weeks now!

mama you're prob just panicking, some bleeding is normal enough. Prob just caused by hormones.

Jealous of everyone's horny dreams....mine are just random and as a sleep talker think I'm muttering even more rubbish than normal.

TMI i know, but I have been having bad bleeding when I poo....I read that piles are common in pregnancy so hoping that's all it is but freaking me out...anyone else had that??? Sorry for the info if anyone's at their tea!

Congrats on your boy Warlin! Did you get a good pic? How long does the scan last? I'm also a sleep talker and have been muttering all sorts lately. Dreams have been vivid and very strange.

Thanks Warlin and 10000 for your reassurance. Have felt another little poke from baby so it's making me feel a lot better. Also been to the loo again, and nothing new. People at work must really think baby is bouncing on my bladder this afternoon with the amount of trips i've made to the loo! I agree that it's not super scary and in my heart I know it's ok. I think i'm just waiting for the shock of seeing it wear off a bit more. Will still pay close attention to movements this evening whist i laze on the sofa and enjoy OBEM :o And then scan day tomorrow.

Phew, crappy couple of hours there... :(

Mamma i'm sure its ok, i get old blood about 2/3 days after sex every time, a delicate cervix i think. Maybe its just something like that. Hope its all ok, sounds like baby is giving you a bit of reassurance so I'm sure it will be fine!

Florin if there's a H&M anywhere near you with a maternity department they did some really nice shorts in thereat christmas. Also Gap maternity sale currently has denim shorts. Not sure if you can get them online? good luck with the scan btw. i want to know NOW what flavour mine is, and that its all in fine fettle... you must be so excited!

Actually think i have felt the baby move today which is really nice and quite reassuring - its very low down and right in the middle and feels like a gentle twitch? Maybe all my worrying has stimulated the LO to let me know its in there :) also, rang DH and told him all my panics and he said he would pay for a scan this week if i was still worried. he's very very lovely.

oh and Warlin ...re poo; a subject i have spent much time looking into after the constipation issues i had. Yes to lots of bleeding, caused by internal fissures and tears apparently. Doctors generally don't worry too much about it, although scared the hell out of me! I was bleeding but no cigar - so to speak :) Much better now i've had a laxative and cleared the big blockage. Still really sore and bleed a bit but regular and normal and its getting better. Try drinking a bit more and using lactulose to soften everything up so your body has less stretching to do and can heal itself. If it doesn't get better I would just ring my GP surgery and ask for a call back and describe the symptoms... they'll let you know if its a worry or not.

Warlin packets of prunes! Sainsbury's have snack packs at the moment, 3 for £1. I take them into work with me, not had a problem with constipation since. I took a double dose on the first couple of days.

Florin try topshop.com too. They have nice, quite a large maternity range of summer stuff, and not too expensive. Will get delivered to your house.

Re the bleeding when pooing. I have been getting this cause suffering with constipation I feel like I've had a bit of a back log the last few days and when I've gone it's been really sore and I've had a bit of blood. It's awful, I'll just have to try and drink more and eat more fibre etc. prunes or prune juice usually works well for me, will have to get some.

Been beside myself with excitement all day about scan. Just had it and it was wonderful and we are having a boy which is what we have been convinced it was from the day the stick turned positive. It's lovely knowing especially as we already had a name for him so can call him by it now. Having my first glass of wine in ages to celebrate and dh has chosen a really lovely bottle.
Can't wait to chose him his first little outfit at the weekend.
