Big congratulations to Warlin and Florin, both having a boy.
I too think that I'm carrying a boy and have thought so since conception. I have DS already so think he will be a great play mate/younger brother. I have scan next Monday and I cannot wait to confirm the flavour Grin.

ecstatica · 18/01/2012 22:31

Congratulations Warlin and Florin -- as a mother of three little boys I can honestly say they are sooooo much fun and full of cuddles!! Want to hear more on first baby boy purchases!

Looking fwd to all other scan news. I've asked already but my posts probably get lost in all the news, is anyone scanning end of month? I'm excited, apprehensive at the same time and wondering if this is as everyone says, going to be a fourth boy!

Good luck tomorrow scan/colps -- let us know how it goes.

Anyone else with SPD? My m/w says that it is no longer called SPD and I can't remember the new name...

emblosion · 19/01/2012 01:42

Warlin and Florin congratulations on your boys too! All the scan news is very exciting!

KatyJ26 · 19/01/2012 06:33

Yay for the boys!!!! So pleased for everyone- were not finding out, so I get uber excited when someone on here does! I have no idea what I'm having! How do you 'just know'? I'm clueless! I have one of each and got it wrong both times Blush

Kveta · 19/01/2012 09:17

Boris just wanted to say, thinking of you today. Hope everything goes as smoothly as possible.

Florin congrats on your boy!

Dalrymps · 19/01/2012 09:39

Morning ladiesSmile

Boris Also thinking of you x

Kayzr · 19/01/2012 09:51

Morning

Boris thinking of you x

thedogwalker · 19/01/2012 09:55

Good morning all
Boris my thoughts are with you xx

ellybett · 19/01/2012 10:09

Boris my prayers are with you and your family today. xx

emblosion · 19/01/2012 10:40

Yep, me too, hang in there today Boris x

Miniangel · 19/01/2012 11:18

Congratulation on your boys Dalrymps , Warlin and Florin. My friends have had boys recently and they are so much fun. We only have 1 girl in my friend circle so far.

Kayzr Girls are lovely too and you would love dressing her up etc.

Itchy All the best for your colposcopy today. Let us know how it went.

Warlin regarding blood in poo. I had a bad tear because of the constipation and the gp had given me an ointment to put over it along with the lactulose. I have not been taking lactulose as poo has turned soft but going is so much less painful now. If the blood becomes worse and it's painful to go I would recommend the ointment.

MammaIntheMaking All the best for your scan today. Hope it gives you the reassurace after your scare yesterday. Let us know how you get on.

I missed my pregnancy yoga class yesteday as started feeling sick all of a sudden and was actually sick. Sickness has got better for me over the last few weeks so it was out of the blue.

ellybett · 19/01/2012 11:20

ecstatica I'm on the SPD bus too, didn't know it was called something else though! Got it from about 6 months pg with DD1 and it's already kicked in already. That's why I've been very interested to read people's reviews of the dream genii and am now fairly sure we'll get one after the 20 wk scan (DH has promised!). Not a fun side effect unfortunately.
Yay for all the gender scans! I really don't have a clue, but that might be because I've felt very wary of making any assumptions about this pregnancy. After initially thinking we wanted it to be a surprise we now definitely want to know so we can name this wriggler and help DD get used to the idea of a little brother or sister.
It appears we are potty training today! Had actually decided to leave it a while longer after DD started getting very distressed about the potty being out and put on the toilet but after m-i-l bought her some 'pretty knickers' there's no holding her back! Only started yesterday afternoon but dry so far although haven't had to deal with poo's yet, eek!
Hope everyone else is having a good day. x

ecstatica · 19/01/2012 11:22

Another boy :) Whoo hoooo! I'm so excited for everyone.
Now is anyone going to tell me if they have a scan coming up end of month? ;)
I have 11 days to go....

Hope Itchy and MitM are good today...

itchyfootedlady · 19/01/2012 11:30

boris thoughts are with you :(

Colposcopy was fine:) I love addenbrookes staff so much. I told them I was a bit nervous of them prodding too much as I had been having some cramping, so the lovely, lovely doctor and nurses gave me an antenatal exam and checked my uterus and blood pressure and found the heartbeat and everything before they started just to reassure me! Love them! No change on the colposcopy, they think its a congenital fault. They did say I had a 'lovely meaty pregnant cervix' though which sounded revolting.

so happy and relieved. baby is ok and i feel completely chilled again now. Plus its definitely kicking me. phew.

mamma hope the scan goes well, keep us posted.

mini sorry you are feeling sick again. Hope it passes quickly. I've had the odd random vomit since it passed too, normally if i drink something then lie down though so probably my own fault :o/

ecstatica i don't have SPD... new name is PGP (pelvic girdle pain) but do have chronic lower back pain around sacroiliac joints from old injury - i need to swim to keep it at bay but MS stopped me doing anything and its awful now. Bit worried that its going to just get worse. Hope you aren't suffering too much if you have the PGP?

TDW i don;t find out for 3 weeks.... DH is convinved its a girl, i am sort of thinking of it as a girl now too. It will be most suprising if we get a girl with a winkle now :)

Kveta · 19/01/2012 11:39

ooh, itchy you're at the Rosie too?! I seem to be spending half my life there at the moment!! :o glad it went well!

ceeej · 19/01/2012 11:44

Just caught up after a busy couple of days

So sorry to hear of your loss Boris, I shed a few tears reading your post, you will be in my thoughts x

Itchy hope your procedure isn't too unpleasant

excited to hear news from today's scans, ecstatica mine is on the 27th, the days are dragging already

ellybet I love that your DD has been inspired by the pretty knickers, hope the poo isn't too traumatic when it eventually comes along

I think I might possibly be able to feel mine moving but not certain yet, seems a different feeling to trapped wind though as more towards the front of my belly. My DH has started to 'interact' with the bump now it's more obvious which is really sweet (although he is disappointed that he can no longer blow raspberries on my belly because it's not wobbly any more!) he really wants to feel it kick but I guess it will be a while before that happens.

Oh and my glucose tolerance test came back completely normal so that's one less thing to worry about

ceeej · 19/01/2012 11:47

x post with itchy, great that they gave you reassurance scan, always good to know there are nice understanding docs out there too :) but ewwwwwww at meaty cervix comment

Warlin · 19/01/2012 12:22

Congrats florin , your DH may get his rowing team! At least knowing the sex will help me pick the coklour of my bugaboo :)

itchy glad all went well...you can relax now...a meaty cervix...mmmm sounds lovely!

mama good luck today...I'm sure you'll be totally relieved and all will be well. AT least you will get reassurance rather than having to wait.

thinking of you a lot boris. hope yoo're ok and sending you hugs.

ecsatatica my 20 week is Monday 31st....wish it would hurryup.

I'm starting to panic at lack of movement. I did have some flutterings but they seem to have stopped and I've felt nothing for a few days. I'm 19 weeks tmw so hoping for some kicks soon. I'm hoping that it's maybe the way my cervix is lying as dr told me it was tilted back at the last scan.....trying not to think of what else could be wrong...

min hope the sickness passes, not good again.

Id anyone else having really bad heartburn....mine's really annoying me after eating.

AmethystMoon · 19/01/2012 12:32

Thinking of you today Boris, my heart goes out to you and I wish you strength and hope for the future.

millyv · 19/01/2012 12:46

boris I hope today goes as well as it can fir you, you've been in my thoughts all day!

Everyone seems to have good news lately, I'm feeling a bit blurgh as we havent seen the little one or heard it's heart beat since the 12 week scan and I have to wait until the 6th feb for my next scan. It's been a long wait! I keep thinking I can feel thinks moving in my tummy but can't feel them from the outside yet - DH says I'm impatient which is very true but doesn't help!

xx

TeaandHobnobs · 19/01/2012 12:51

Itchy glad everything went ok, and that they staff were nice. I meant to say last night, I was getting cramps as well - spoke to midwife, who after a bit of symptom chat, suggested it might be a touch of a UTI (which accords with the sample she took at my appt last week). She said to use paracetamol and warm baths as needed, and if it got worse to make an appt with the GP. I've been tanking the cranberry juice too Grin Mine seem to have gone away today though, hope yours have/do too.

miniangel sorry to hear you are feeling sick again Sad hope that passes too.

Warlin with you too on the panic. I have even taking to yelling at my bump a few times "do something!!!!" Blush (did I mention I am impatient? Grin) Even got DH to talk to it last night, but still nothing.

Scan is 2 weeks today - so excited / petrified. I think we will want to find out the gender (if possible) - DH says he would like a girl ("boys are boring" Hmm - he is being tongue in cheek though!) and I am starting to suspect girl... so I will almost certainly be wrong!!! Our friends have a DS who will be six months older than our LO, and I think DH is already marrying them off in his mind...

Right, meeting with HR in an hour - better get some work done first!

Hope everyone else is feeling well

Thinking of Boris Thanks

thedogwalker · 19/01/2012 12:57

Mini sorry to hear about your sickness returning, I hope it passes soon and doesn't make a re-appearance.
Elly and Esctaitca, hope you can find relief away from the SPD/PGP.
Itchy I have no idea why I'm convinced I'm having another DS, just something that has stuck with me, roll on next Monday when I can actually find out if I'm right or not. Glad the colopscopy went well and they were able to reassure you too, that was nice of them
Ceeej Smile to the glucose test, glad all came back normal.
Warlin remember that at this age, there is no pattern yet to the LOs movements, and when we are busy we often don't feel the very slight movement that they make. Plus you moving rocks them to sleep. My pg book tells you to lie down and relax and when relaxed you should be able to feel them move. Or it says play some loud music, failing that drink a cold sugary drink and that will defo get the LO moving.
I've just booked a papmer couple of hours at my local beauty salon, they have a winter special on at the moment, so I thought what the hell, I've booked the day off work and I'm going to get pampered Grin, I cannot wait until the 31st now.

Dalrymps · 19/01/2012 13:08

itchy Glad the colposcopy went okSmile How lovely of them to check baby's heartbeat before hand etc.

mini Sorry the sickness is bothering you, hope it's short lived.

We've been discussing names for our third boy and think we've decided! We like Jude Harrison (for his first and middle name)Smile

Warlin · 19/01/2012 13:40

Thanks all, fingers crossed he starts moving soon....Jude Harrison lovely Darly We are going for Thomas William (Tom)...it's nice to talk about "Tom" rather than just bump!

Kveta · 19/01/2012 13:44

lovely names :) my cousin has a wee boy called Jude (and I know a few babies with William as a middle name!) - both nice classic names!

think we're going for Emilie, but if scan was wrong, will be Teodor (Teddy/Theo). I'm calling bump Emmy for now though! next scan is next friday, so will get confirmation then. It would be so funny if she was actually a he! sonographer was pretty certain though. I guess time will tell!

I'm really feeling a lot of kicks on my bladder at the moment, so I guess she must be breech still - it's quite sweet just now to feel these wee taps on the bladder, but I'm sure in a few weeks time I'll be going 'GET THE F**K OFF MY BLADDER BABY!' if my last pg was anything to go by :o
